The staff were amazing. Friendly, helpful and effiecient. Excellent. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable.

Had the best couple of nights here! Has an amazing pool and stream room, view and location! Right next to all the best food places and right in the centre of town! Highly recommended.

Expensive for what it is but a pleasant stay. I liked the unbleached bed sheets and the bed was comfortable. The kids enjoyed the interactive games table in the foyer. Breakfast was pretty run of the mill but fine and good that kids are free with an adult.

Great location, really friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent value. Leisure facilities were good, gym a little small and busy at peak times, but well kitted out. Bar staff were extremely friendly and great with the kids. Definitely will be hotel of choice for our future visits to Sheffield.

Smart, efficient hotel right in the centre of Sheffield and within a few minutes walk of the railway station and adjacent to the Sheffield Winter Garden. The room I had was designed for wheelchair users with a disabled toilet, an accessible shower with seat, and wide doorways.

Very disappointed. I booked a double room which looked absolutely nothing like any photographs from the hotel website. It was much smaller and the decore felt as though we were in a prison! Not only this but we were given a bathroom with a wet room and no bath. The bathroom door barely closed and did not even have a lock. Alongside this, we were placed next to the generator fan on the outside of the building which not only made a huge amount of noise but smelt horrendous! When we asked to be moved due to not being able to sleep with the noise we were told there were no more rooms available. As a result of this we had a terrible night sleep and an even worse experience being guests at Novotel. However, on the plus side, the lady at reception Esther was very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel was very nice place to spend the night. The room was spacious and the bed super comfy. The breakfast was delicious.

Excellent value, room was clean and tidy, location for the venue I was attending was brilliant. Car parking spaces are sparse but there is a multi story car park above the casino 2 buildings down from the hotel. Breakfast was very nice too. Would recommend staying here.

This hotel was faultless. Amazing friendly staff, wonderful facilities and a great pool perfect for our little one. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect location (right in town and just 5 mins. Away from the station). Everything very clean and tidy. Very nice breakfast but more importantly extremely friendly and helpful staff.

A good hotel in a great location, but starting to look and feel a bit tired. We have stayed here many times and have always been pleased with the service. However the last time was very disappointing. We'd booked a family room but when we got to the room the bed for our son wasn't made up. Also the air conditioning didn't work which meant we had to sleep with the window open which wasn't great because it's so noisy on a weekend (the hotel is very central). Decor of the hotel is looking very old fashioned with woodchip on the wall too. During our stay we were charged for two days of breakfasts even though we'd only ordered breakfast on one day. We were also charged for bringing our dog for the first time (£12 per night). With the cost of the parking (a massive £13.50 per night) it worked out a very expensive place to stay.

>No Air-conditioning in the hotel, was really hot in winter had to call reception to get a table fan. (Summer Get 2 fans in the room trust me) >Bathroom is alright but the toilet is tiny with no sanitary bin instead you get a mini plastic bag dispenser which is mounted on the wall. >The coffee machine was faulty. >Room services for food is charged £5 per tray. >Slow check-in service. For check-out there is a ballet to drop in your key cards. Overall hotel is in a really good location but could do better in the rooms and room service prices.

The food was top notch. The room was comfortable and I slept like a baby. All facilities were very good. Will definitely stay again.

Very spacious room, comfortable bed and good amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Only problem was the bathroom door handle was too close to the frame to close without weirdly positioning my hand.

Location was good and easy to find. Facilities were more than adequate too. Attended a similar event the previous year, and found things like the catering to be more limited than previous though.

The lobby has nice things for kids, but my room wasn't very good. The toilet has to be pumped like a medieval village water pump to get it to flush and the housekeeping was lackluster. Breakfast wasn't the best, there are better options a few minutes walk away though. The location is great. 5 minutes walk from the station and near plenty of restaurants. Last time I was in Sheffield I stayed at the Mecure. I'd probably stay there next time too.

Novotel is in a terrific location, a two minute walk to city centre with parking. The lobby was beautiful and there was a swimming pool that you walk past on the way to the reception. The receptionist was very polite and helpful, we checked in within 2 minutes. We stayed in the standard room with no breakfast however the bed was very comfortable and large and the room itself was quite big as well. There was also a sofa bed that we did not use. The bathroom was lit with warm yellow lighting which contrasted the white lighting of the room which was a bit disorientating and the amenities were also a bit lacking, no shower caps or lotions. However for what we paid for it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay in a wonderful location. Would recommend.

Very clean and luxury. Good venue for professional development conferences / workshop. Easy to get to by public transport. Food was delicious and the view to winter gardens is great. Would visit again.

A brief business stay in Sheffield. Hotel selected because of Swimming Pool and Steam room facilities. Room was I have to say a little dark, view out on to roof. The lid on the WC cistern had been smashed and seemingly repaired with a white compound of some description. Had the effect of making the bathroom look quite cheap. Overhead shower very good lots of hot water. Biggest disappointment was no steam room and no pool heating on one occasion. Obviously something array in the changing rooms as there was a massive leak on the floor which appeared to be coming through a wall. Breakfast extremely good lots of choice good standard. Overall a six shame about the Spa.

Great short break. Very helpful staff on arrival, reception area was clean, bright and welcoming. Although there were 2 wedding parties in, staff were very attentive and resolved any issues immediately. Room was clean and well presented. Breakfast was outstanding! Again, very attentive staff and good quality food with a wide range of choices available.

Warm welcoming staff, who made the extra effort as my birthday, saying that they mad the extra effort for all guests getting anything someone needed, running round us at breakfast to meet our needs. breakfast was of good quality and fairly warm. rooms were comfortable and clean and bed lined and bed gave a good nights sleep. gym and pool good wished steam room had been fixed. nice to have a private toilet.

We were welcomed by a nice friendly girl on reception with a nice smile. We ate in the bar and were looked after very well in the evening. Just everyone was very nice and always had a smile. The room itself was nice and clean. I asked when I booked if I could have a room near my 2 friends who were staying also and we were all in adjacent rooms. So this was great. Overall, I will definitely return to Novotel in Sheffield.

This hotel is all about its position in the city centre! Surrounded by restaurants, within easy walking of shopping centre. The room was a good size. I was not a fan of separate toilet particular as there was no handbasin! Room was booked for two, but only had one bath towel, which was very small albeit soft!

Reception is on 1st floor lift or stair access, finding your room is fun if your not in a hurry the corridors are long and white with dark doors there's a gold writing on clear glass showing ways to go yet it is easy to not see it against the white walls. I much prefer premier Inn the whole experience is by far better with them. I'd not stay or visit again.

Great staff willing to please and friendly. However, we were in a function suite and they only had one person behind the bar which is a joke for the amount of people there. The same goes for the general bar which had one barman until the one from the function room finished clearing up in there. They definitely need to cater more for the guests at the bar.

Enjoyed my stay at Novotel, very nice and clean and also enjoyed a complimentary from the team as it was my anniversary. Was a bit not happy with the barman who took ages to serve me water with lemon and went on to serve other customers before finishing with my order. It was only after I had asked him how long he is going to be; he then asked me to have a sit and he would bring my water. Apart from that had a lovely stay.

The hotel and room was clean and had everything we needed. What we particularly liked was that we could come up through the lobby and go straight to our rooms at whatever time of the day or night without being approached (we are quite private). The only pointer I would suggest is making it more clear upon booking that if paying with cash there will be a £50 deposit that you you will get back in cash upon checking out. This wasn't an issue but not expected. The hotel is in a perfect location and the view is nice when looking over the centre of town and the peace gardens. Very happy with our stay and we will be returning shortly.

I was very happy with the way the hotel room looked. Very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the executive suite. The only issue was that there was a horrible noise which kept me awake all night as I am a light sleeper. This was my only complaint. We used the pool facilities which was really relaxing. The breakfast was really good and all the staff were really nice and helpful. Another reason why I only gave this hotel 4 stars instead of 5 was they have limited car parking facilities. I struggled to find a car parking space. You have to get there early.

We wanted a city break in the Sheffield area and the Novotel was perfectly located. Our booking was made a few weeks in advance and included breakfast (which we found to be excellent). We were really pleased with the service provided by the great staff and we appreciated the cleanliness, modern feel and facilities such as the gym, pool and kids play area. The only factors which we felt too minor to address at the time were as follows: (1) The large bed had a hard headboard but only one pillow per adult — making it less comfortable to sit up in bed to read, watch TV etc. (2) The duvet seemed rather lumpy (presumably as a result of down gathering at center of each pocket). (3) It was rather cool in the room for our last couple of nights and adjusting the thermostat did not appear to make any difference. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again if we return to Sheffield. We felt the price reflected excellent value for money and we will certainly be looking to stay at other Novotel hotels in future, as a matter of preference. Thank you.

The hotel was in a great location, right next to the winter gardens and town hall. Checkout was at 12 — which meant we didn't have to rush in the morning. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and the en suite had a great, powerful shower! Only minor thing was the shower design wasn't ideal and it did leak onto the floor! I would definitely stay again!

Excellent service throughout our stay. The door key cards were not working but staff were friendly and it was actually really nice to get to speak to different staff members as they let us into our rooms whenever we wanted. Breakfast was very good indeed as was the bar service. We had pool to ourselves for over an hour. Bedrooms and bathrooms clean, comfortable and to a good spec.

The location, front desk staff, room cleanliness and parking availability were excellent. However, these were negated as there was no air conditioning despite having an air conditioner thermostat on the wall. It's summer and it was very warm on one of the nights even with the windows opened.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was tasty and catered for most peoples tastes. Hotel has small pool which was sufficient to keep a 8 year old happy after a busy day. We would stay again. The only that could easily be improved is the bed quilts as rather lumpy however everything was relatively clean.

Check in Sunday, April 9, marked lack of a light in the bathroom. Remarked the lack on Monday and asked for different room. From 426 to 402.
Being the prepaid room for 4 nights and "non refundable" I find it bizarre to receive a new invoice via email with a charge of £82 (71 per room and 11 for BKF that I did not consume).
Here is text of my message in response to the mail with attached invoice:
Dear Novotel,
I owe you nothing. I have had two BKF and a snack and paid in cash the night before leaving.
Room has been paid in full for 4 nights (not refundable). Amex debted me 316.16 Euros.
Better Review your act.

Don't even think about walking in without a reservation. Outrageous price for not very much reward. Staff less than welcoming.

I enjoyed my stay but don't think it warrants 4 stats unfortunately. The food in the restaurant was okay. The hotel its self requires some updating. The bed and pillows were brilliant. Overall, very average but wouldn't give 4 stars.

As ever I was made to feel welcome and I was particular delighted to have been given an upgrade. Thank you! Two points I'd like to make. Firstly, one of the reasons I like this hotel is the joy of having a swim after a tiring journey. Please could you put some kind of seat in the changing room. Even a fold down affair would do. And secondly, the steam room doesn't do what it says on the can. It's there so it needs to work.

Double booked our suite and had to downgrade us for 2 days. They did try to make up for it with money off food and drink but still wasn't great. We had to move room after 2 days so never really settled. All the staff were really nice and apologetic, but just not double booking our room would have been better.

Called a ceilidh in one of the conference rooms. Was nice and the staff were great with helping the event go smoothly. Drinks were expensive but I guess that's just hotel prices.

The most abysmal housekeeping I've ever seen. Unclean sheets, pillow covers etc. It takes 10 mins to get through to the reception on phone. Did not have a good time here.

Service was good, food served promptly. Rage of beers could be better.

I didn't stay at the Novotel as we were there for our work's christmas party. The food was amazing, especially the sweet potato soup and trio of chocolate desserts (absolute heaven! ) The only downside I would say is having to pay £7.50 to use the car park for the evening — very steep seeing as we already paid £35 for the Christmas party.

The room was nice and the pool was quiet. Reception and restaurant staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast could have been warmer and the bar better stocked when visited (no Jack Daniels and they didn't think they had lemonade, as an example). Personally could have done without the music on all the TV screens in the bar, it didn't seem to fit with the mood of the place.

Clean and comfortable. No parking, use the Q park around the corner. Would stay again.

For the cost everything was a expected. Two things that would improve the experience would be more comfortable pillows and better windows that keep the sound of the main road at bay. Apart from that it was a pleasant experience and perfectly located for the town centre and was right next to where I was graduating. It is a shame the parking cost £12 though, but for 24 hours it isn't dreadful. Staff were great expect the bar was limited and they couldn't make basic cocktails which was a shame. Overall, we had a good time and would come back.

Very friendly staff nothing was 2 much trouble. Great buffett breakfast for only £8 if you book night before. Room was clean bright n modern.

Stayed here as a treat when in town for football. Bedroom was modern, though the bed a little uncomfortable. The staff were very friendly although breakfast lacked — waiting for full selection of food, and dining in the second half of the "window" had to pick our way around dirty and cluttered tables. Very clean however, and would definitely stay again.

Nice people, but no free Internet. Very good breakfast.
