Thin walls, we could hear the other room watching tangled very loudly half the night. No fans super hot. Broken elevator. Terrible Wi-Fi. Went out with some friends and came back to the lights now not working in the room and reception told us, “best I can say is to keep turning them on and off I can’t switch your room, I’ll leave a note for morning staff. ” Not only that but the room appears to have not been dusted or vacuumed in ages and if you move aside the desk or bed the tiniest bit, there’s garbage and large dust bunnies. Best western has hit rock bottom. Never again.

The staff are friendly. The geographical location, top! Ideal room format for up to 2 nights. No air conditioning has been ridiculous in the face of the sign and the price charged that it is not yet installed. No change of sheets for four nights. It's noisy, do not take room 306 which is located on the back of the building with trolleys that start their frantic races very early on cobblestones and sidewalks … The decoration of the corridors and rooms are to be renovated.

Fantastic staff, very helpful and nice. It's a good budget hotel with a great location. The ventilation system needs to be changed though — on the top floor there is only a small window, no A/C it's really brutal for the summer months : (

I love this hotel. The staff are amazingly friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Nice hotel, comfy. Ideal location for city centre. Only negative is you can't open the windows so room gets very warm. Not sure of I'd stay there in summer.

Excellent location for the city centre and Universities. Clean, comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced too.

It's a charming hotel. The habotaciones are clean. The service of the hotel is very friendly. The dining room is very nice. The food is well prepared. The sink is also very clean. From Sheffield train station to the hotel are 10 minutes walk away. That's it, it's all rise. The hotel is on a hidden street which gives a very central others.

Comfortable hotel though some rooms are a little dated, no double glazing. Great breakfast and the hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Sheffield and one can walk to most places. Good Hotel parking arrangement with local multi-storey car park.

The hotel was ideally situated for us as we were visiting the cinema across the road, the room was tidy and clean if a little dated. There was a bit of noise from outside but I considered that a given as we were on the 1st floor and in the city centre. For the price it was excellent value and I'd definitely stay there again.

Hotel is nice, clean and friendly. Look freshly decorated & good bathroom/Shower. It’s convenient for city centre but in an alley which at night had some unsavoury characters lurking in the shadows. The breakfast was poor value with limited selection cooked to order. My vegetarian sausage was re heated as it was cold in middle. I also asked for mineral water at the desk as per guest handbook & was told there’s tap water.

Well priced and good location. Unfortunately room service and bar meals were unavailable so I had to go out to find food. (Without being told this at booking) Room is small but has every thing needed. Large windows afford a pleasant amount of natural light. Carpet could've been hoovered better but otherwise clean.

Clean and modern feeling hotel in the centre of Sheffield. Very handy for the shops and other amenities such as the museum and cathedral. Had a reasonable breakfast, that certainly isn't worth £12. My room overlooked the narrow road which also has the entrance to hotel It proved to be noisy, with people's voices being amplified by the close together buildings. My room was also pretty chilly as the radiator was boxed in. Bathroom was warm though.

For the price, this hotel is perfect. The location is fantastic within Sheffield city centre, 5 minute walk to great shops and transport links. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help. Directly across from the hotel is a gorgeous little theatre.

The hotel is located close to the city centre. The location can be difficult to find without some form of map. Stayed overnight in a single room. Check in was smooth. The size of the room is quite small but given the price it is reasonable. Check out was quick an easy. It was possible to leave the luggage with reception for the day.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. As others said, maybe rooms facing the rear alley can be a little noisy if you need a very quiet environment to sleep, but I find it tolerable, and the rooms facing the front are perfect. Most importantly, the staff of this hotel is super-nice, helpful and sympathetic with any request you could have.

Beautiful hotel, simply lovely area! The lift is very slow and the shower is either too hot or cold. But overall is a great hotel, one of the greatest experiences of my life.

This crib is great… good location and smiles all round. Only problem is when you share with 3 other boys you struggle with the limited toilet roll! Upon request of more toilet roll it was delivered at a great time if you catch my drift. The toilet flushes well and can take a beating! The sink does it's job Well, the shower is very hard to get it to the perfect temperature! Toilet roll felt glorious even after excessive wiping! The view is amazing. No stains on the bedding or walls which is a pleasant surprise! The room is very warm but a fan is provided! Overall this place is great for the price. Key feature that excelled my expectations… the toilet.

OK hotel, great location for the city centre and tucked behind the Crucible too. Rooms were nice and large bathrooms in particular. However the rooms really could do with some air conditioning as our room had larger windows but the parts that opened were right at the top of the room and didn't really affect the temperature. It was tough to get to sleep with the heat in the evening. TV had no batteries in the remote and the TV reception wasn't great. The lift was very slow and there is only one in the building. Bar service was a bit slow as the receptionist had to come up to the bar on the mezzanine floor and take orders. Seemed to be a shortage of staff.

The window was broken and wouldn't close and no replacement rooms were available. As a result the room was freezing and I woke up several times due to the temperature and the noise outside the hotel.

Double room for 1 night. Overall layout and spacing of the room was fine but there was a bare ended wire sticking out of the TV and the shower was hand held (ie no bracket on the wall) which changed showing from a normally pleasant experience to more of a chore.

Staff great, and appreciated the complimentary paper and free Wi-Fi and cheap rooms rate. Room very dated and mattress not to our taste but did the job.

Room was small. There were three single beds instead of a double and a single. The shower was weak and cold. Breakfast was sub-par. It took the best part of two weeks to get an item I left there returned. Only redeeming quality is how close it is to the amenities in Sheffield centre.

It's a boutique hotel, what does that mean? It's a bit different. Nice cosy room, that means a bit small, but a big bathroom. Hidden away just off the main street so an easy location with lots of places to eat and drink. Everything was fine and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was in a rather weird basement but a good fresh cooked chose yourself breakfast. Price was good, and if you don't want the same-ness of some of the other brands this place is fine. No complaints.

Tired looking hotel, lift was broken. Booked it as a bed for the night, don't expect more.

Had a great stay, great location and great value for money. Rooms are quite nice and spacious with all the facilities. Free Wi-Fi is a bonus. Loved my stay will come back again.

Not that impressed for the price, would not stay again.
