Fantastic venue, quietly nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Very well looked after town House hotel with boutique finish. The welcome from the team was really nice and they accommodated our need for a taxi by taking us themselves, as demand for taxis high due to York races being on. Sparkling room, comfortable bed and great shower, plenty of tea and coffee and milk where most places let you down. Wonderful breakfast served in the dining room, great choice and quality food items. Next time we will definitely done at Adam Jackson's in house restaurant, the tasting menu looks outstanding! All in all a fantastic venue, with fabulous service and great facilities. Thank you.

Just had a lovely overnight stay in Mar marked. Such a lovely hotel. The room was large, comfortable and had a 4 poster bed. We can't fault the hotel. The staff were helpful and our breakfast delicious. Only fault was someone trying to charge their drinks to our room. Pleased the man on reception remembered serving us something completely different. Totally recommended.

Comfortable and clean room as well as bathroom. Very good welcome. Great breakfast with a good choice of formula.

The staff were incredibly friendly and I loved everything about the style of the hotel. The issue I had was when we went to the room, the lamp was broken and wouldn't turn off at the switch so we had to move the heavy bedside tables to find the plug socket, not the sort of thing you want to be doing at 1am. The bed was also very creaky and uncomfortable, it may be suitable for some people but it wasn't for me. The food smelt great from the restaurant, however having a pregnant wife and a constantly changing set menu it wasn't ideal to dine here. It was close to the center (withing walking distance) and accessible by car but the car park is very tight. May be to some people's tastes but unfortunately not for me.

+: Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Cleaning lady couldn’t have been more kind or professional. Lovely suite, with attention to details. Excellent breakfast with good coffee and delicious cooked food. Good location close to town centre. -: Wi-Fi didn’t work in our suite and needs to be fixed. Wish they’d had fitted bed sheets rather than a simple sheet that moves around all night and uncovers the mattress!

Really lovely stay. Great location for exploring York. Good comfy bed, and a great bathroom. We had breakfast on both days, which was ok (veggie and vegan options). Service was really slow on the Sunday, but the staff are friendly and helpful.

An excellent hotel. Good rates, brilliant room and a gorgeous breakfast. Staff are very friendly. Had one night stay in April 2018. While we didn't take them up on their offer, they said the bar was open to residents until 2am! All very quiet and slept like a log. Thanks all at Marmadukes!

Had a lovely stay at Marmadukes Hotel. We were lucky enough to have dinner at the Park Restaurant where we thoroughly enjoyed an 8 course tasting meal.

Amazing little place. Spacious room. Only downside was it only had a bath. Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. All good and will be back. Thoroughly recommend.

Booked with a discount voucher and was definitely pleased I hadn't paid full price. The food was very good but came in tiny portions. Staff was highly knowledgeable about the food and wine. Commented to the management about the size of the portions, to be accused of trying to blackmail them into giving free meal. Very unprofessional, would not recommend to anyone and would not return.

We are currently here in room 519 deluxe double. Friendly and efficient check in. Room is immaculate and so is the bathroom with lovely complimentary toiletries. Nice quality tea tray. Looking forward to our two nice stay as the bed is a huge, soft and dreamy… roll on breaky.

Very elegant décor. Very tasteful. Very friendly and helpful staff. A bit clunky on more practical points like the ease of flushing the loop. Great introduction to York loved it.

Very nice old fashioned building. We were very excited to see they had a "vegan breakfast" on the menu although they didn't have any vegan sausages in despite us ringing the day before to enquire if they catered for vegans! Would definitely use again tho, as the staff were really nice, and the rooms are very clean & elegant.

Very pleasant, Victorian hotel, very near castle, lovely staff, hosts the park restaurant as good as any food have enjoyed anywhere in the world, don't park there, no room.

Stayed here because we were at a wedding close by. We were able to get into our room early so we could get ready. Staff helpful. Lovely big clean room, comfy bed. Very quiet area but close to center of York. Nice breakfast. Would stay here again.

The Park is an absolutely superb restaurant. Tasting menu with matched wine was a real treat. Highly reccomended.

Food here is absolutely superb. Flavours, composition and texture are as good as I've eaten in Michelin star establishments. Two slight quirky features that jar a little. Bathroom straight off the dining hall and some 'eclectic' art. But if that's all there is to mention​ it's going really really well. It's easily the best food in York.

I went for the taster menu at the restaurant. Travelled from Leeds just to sample it and was not disappointed. There were quite a few elements on the dishes that I would never have thought would work, such as thyme infused custard; I was pleasantly surprised by them all. Good value, good service, and I would definitely recommend it.

Lovely hotel. Room was quite small but it's an old building with character so no problem there. Not quite sure why I wasn't allowed a coffee from the espresso machine in the morning, they apparently only turn it on later, after all who wants​ coffee in the morning.

Stayed 2 nights. Great rustic hotel. Room size was large with tall ceilings. Breakfast was cooked to order and good service. Clean and welcoming staff! 5 minute walk to the city walls.

Beautiful York town house on Bootham close to St Peters school, converted to a hotel. Lovely room with all antique furniture (nothing very lavish or valuable, just very charming, attractive and functional. ) Delightful sitting rooms and a nice bar. Very well staffed with friendly and efficient staff. Pretty full on a low season Saturday so I think its secret is out.
