Lovely building, friendly helpful staff, quality breakfast 👍👍

We stayed here for one night for my partners 30th. It was a lovely hotel, about a ten minute walk into the centre, very quiet area. We had afternoon tea which was lovely and the breakfast was spot on. Lovely staff especially the lady at the reception called Vicky. The hotel was clean and the room was perfect for the two of us. Would definitely come back, thank you for a great stay.

We had a fabulous 2 night stay. Great location (far enough out of town to get to easily but close enough to walk to everything within around 10 minutes. ) The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly and attentive, we couldn't have asked for anything more. The whole building was clean, neat and well presented and both afternoon tea and breakfast were fantastic. We really felt like we were looked after and the staff genuinely enjoyed their jobs. We'll recommend to others and will either return or look for the sister B+B's when travelling.

Love how they have mix the old with the new in the Room, Bar and restaurant. Breakfast was stop on. staff very frequently and give excellent service.

Out of all the places we have stayed this is the best 1 the place the rooms are lovely 2 the staff are very friendly and helpful best ever 3 staff can't do enough for you 4 breakfast awesome 5 and most inportant of all is are Paris 🐶was treated so well in every way like I said the staff were 100%. Thank you all so much looking forward to seeing you all again.

Enjoyed our overnight stay here last night. Good location not too far from the city centre, so saw parts of York we didn’t know were there. Helpful, friendly staff, lovely breakfast and check out was amazing with the receptionists Lily and Lola the gorgeous pups! We’ll come again just for the dogs😂

Just returned from a 4 night stay in room 23 spacious and extremely comfortable room, humongous bath (just too hot too use it) Made the most of the walk in shower bed very comfy The Staff are all very helpfull and really pleasant, friendly and professional. Breakfast was at a booked time daily due to restrictions but we never had to wait and it was always what we had pre ordered and piping hot and extreamly good Its a difficult time but they have there covid restrictions all in place and I never once felt unsafe Well done B and B we will return many thanks for your hospitality xxxxx Tony and Pam.

Had a fantastic stay in bootham room here. Will miss lily and lola. Great people. Friendly very clean rooms. Added bonus bottled water and cooling fridge. Lovely cooked breakfast. We will be back! 5 stars from. Us!

Only stayed for a few days, manager was so helpful in many ways. Breakfast is lovely lots of choice of continental fried English breakfast there's a happy hour between 5 and 7 which is always good! very easy to get into the time. I had the dog with me so was unable to stay in the main b&b but they have a beautiful cottage at the back of the b&b which we had all to ourselves just enough for one person and a dog small WC toilet and shower small wardrobe TV radiators double bed dressing table bedside cabinets perfect for what you need for 2 days also tea coffee facilities and the best bit Jammie Dodgers!

The location is great lovely roo. Frendly service. Very quiet yet so close to everything. All in walking distance.

We had a great time the staff was so friendly meals was very good the rooms was very clean and warm and the bouns is it's dog friendly and the make a point of befriending the dogs.

Excellent hotel, very impressed. Easy to find, it is on a side street off the A19. Situated on a dead end street so there is no traffic. Breakfast was great. The single room was nicely done with a very modern en-suite and TV. It was quiet and they do not cater for hen or stag dos. Excellent fast Wi-Fi with good very good coverage. After checkout, you can for a small charge continue to keep your car in their car park. This is an excellent idea as it can give you extra day in York without worring about parking. There is a lounge, bar and complimentary tea and coffee in the dining room up till 10pm and complimentary bottled water in the fridge, There are also the usual tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. My room had a 16in oscillating floor standing fan which was great as it was warm weather. I give this hotel 10/10.

Wonderful place! What I’ve learnt being a dog owner is that there are places that say they’re ‘dog friendly’ that are merely ‘dog tolerant’. B+B York is ‘dog welcoming’ and I loved it. Clean, comfortable and with lovely rooms that can cater for disabled travellers too. Breakfast cooked to order and complimentary bottles of water plus tea and coffee on tap in the lounge. Decent enough bar food available up until 8pm too. … Best of all were the staff — they just couldn’t do enough to help!

Lovely hotel with free car parking, which seems to be a rarity in York. Located about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the City, which is ideal if you fancy getting some light exercise. Free water and warm beverages for the duration of your stay and an excellent cooked breakfast in the morning. Bar and light meals service is available, but the menu is a limited. We had a good sized room, large double bed and en-suite, the only downside was that there are no picturesque views. All round good place to stay if you're visiting the area.

What an amazing place spotless tastefully decorated. Amazing staff couldn't do enough for us from walking through the door. Amazing breakfast. Good location will definitely come again.

I would highly recommend this place to stay. We have just had a lovely weekend, everybody was happy and jolly and nothing was too much trouble. Clean, well maintained, pet friendly, good food, close to town but far enough to be quiet.

Stayed here last night last min decision to stay over in York and found this, on arrival we where greeted by the receptionist lovely lady very friendly, shown to room which was beautifully cleaned and modern standard, bed was lovely and comfortable, great location just 10 more minutes walk into main town, Breakfast was 5 star beautiful dinning area, asked for some ice for the room no problem gave us a bucket and glasses for our own wine, complementary bottles of water and nice finishing touches like sweets on pillows, would definitely use this place again lovely little find couldn't fault a thing, Thank you xx.

Really great place to stay. Location is ideal only 10/mins from the centre and in a nice quiet street. Staff were very nice and the room was good. Only criticisms are that the shower didn't have much pressure and the cooked breakfast was limited if you are a vegetarian allergic to eggs. But the breakfast buffet was nice and sufficient. The coffee machine and bottled water available all day is great.

Great hotel only a 15 minute walk out of the centre of York. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were typical and tasty, there was a coffee/tea machine available for use all day with to-go cups. Room was large enough for our purposes, the bathroom had a large shower but unfortunately had poor water pressure. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay again.

Been staying at B&B York (formerly The Groves) for a number of years and just love it! Staff are so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Building itself is beautiful, great mix of old and new. Breakfast is by far the main attraction! Always cooked to perfection. Fantastic location aswell-short walk into city centre. You won't be disappointed picking here to stay.

Had an awesome stay here for the jorvik festival, very comfortable bed and staff were amazing, awesome breakfeast and lovely quiet location easy walk into city centre and ample parking with option to park untill midnight on your check out day so you get an exstra days holiday will deffo book again.

Nice hotel essentially, no lift meaning we had to walk up 2 lights of stairs to our room. Room was nice and clean. Only complaint really was at breakfast was a sheet of customers pinned to a column in the entrance way. Had everyone's names, room and how much we had paid on display. I believe staff were using it to keep track of who had and hadn't been down for breakfast, but not very good idea to have customer data on display.

Emma (the manager) and her team are fabulous. They are instantly friendly and very helpful. Every member of staff we came across was polite and approachable. The Hotel is wonderful and worth every penny and more. There was 7 of us altogether and our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. … top notch. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this Hotel. There were plenty of breakfast options. They catered for everyone. Everything was cooked just right. Keep up the fantastic work Emma. Your team are a credit to you.

Very nice hotel clean and friendly. All so quiet at night a way from york city but à good walk to york cèntre. Friendly staff helped us get a taxi to màrothon Sunday.

Decent. Staff always on hand and helpful, rooms comfy, although would have liked a bigger bed. Shower was fine but not that powerful. The eggs royale for breakfast was excellent, the full English was alright. All in all, decent given the price and would think about coming back next time I'm in town.

Set on a quiet side street, the place is great. Booked a Large Double room, and everything went smoothly. They provided a great little guide to the city which we found to have some choice recommendations in it. The breakfast in particular was nice. Would absolutely stay again.

Located about 15-20 minutes walk from the train station. If I had arrived earlier in the day, I would have walked. In the evening, it's close enough for a pleasant stroll into town for food/drinks. I stay in hotels most weeks, and usually stick to chain hotels as I am always concerned about the unknowns of smaller or independent places. On this occasion, I booked late and had limited choice. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The building and room were clean, tidy and cosy. The room was not very big, but had all you needed to make for a very comfortable stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They really proved me wrong about staying with smaller establishments. If I need to stay in York again, I'd be more than happy to visit again.

Stayed here Saturday 20th December, lovely quiet place. A little disappointed with the breakfast, it was a little sparse! The Wi-Fi advertised as free but it wasn't there was a £4.00 charge, I know it's not a lot of money but a little misunderstanding. Everything else was fine.

We stayed for two nights over the weekend, really nice place, super clean and lovely staff, they couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was great, huge selection but get the poached eggs! :) Definitely recommend and will be back soon.

Booked to stay just one night and what a pleasureable experience it was too. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac just 10 minutes walk from Yorks town centre, the Hotel/B+B is a charming mix of old and new. Our room was a generous size, clean as a whistle, no Bath but shower, no big deal, again sparklingly clean. Tea, Coffee and hot chocolate provided, a very nice 32" widescreeen TV with freeview, very comfy bed with extra pillows, yes EXTRA pillows, why do other establishments feel you'll be happy with one wafer thin pillow and a cricked next the next morning? Breakfast was very tasty, quick polite service, tea, coffee, fruit juices, either a choice of full English, Continental or Veggie, or 'lighter bites' which I opted for, a very tasty bacon sarnie, oh yeah! Highly recommended, places like this are so much more a pleasureable place to stay as opposed to most sterile Hotel chains.
