The Burton Villa is a small BnB with 7 bedrooms over 3 floors accomodating families, doubles, twin and single bookings. Given that this is a Victorian house there are no lifts to the rooms. All rooms are shower ensuite and have central heating. Some of the rooms have a victorian fireplace as a nice feature. The rooms are compact and bijoux and the beds are clean and very comfortable. There are tea and coffee facilities, a water jug and glasses as well as a TV with free view. Free Wi-Fi is also available in the rooms and towels are provided. The BnB is co owned with the 6 bedroom Park View next door and both are run by a small, friendly team on behalf of the owners. The kitchen is shared between them providing a basic but adequate cooked breakfast. The dining room is compact but clean, with table condiments including individual jams on all 4 tables. An unusual feature of breakfast is that both the tea and the coffee are served in teapots. Park View is on the corner with Burton Villa, obviously, right next door. There is a small, shared parking area to the side and rear of the BnBs with 5/6 bays. There is a public car park opposite if needed, which is also where an Indian restaurant can be found. Ideally located for town, York St John University and York Hospital (incl. A&E). There are local amenities close by such as Spar, Co-op, Boots chemist, corner shop, the Punch Bowl Pub, pizza takeaway, sandwich shop and others. Ideal for a short stay in York.

Myself and partner stayed here for 2 nights 8-10th Sept 18, we received a friendly greeting on arrival, we were allocated room 3 which was clean, had tv, coffee/tea facilities, colour scheme a bit of a mishmash, bedding was crisp, fresh and very comfortable. Waste bins got emptied every day and supplies were replaced for tea and coffee. Location was great was a nice short walk into town, breakfast was very nice and we found staff were very friendly and met our requirements, nothing was a problem for them. Would definitely return.
