We had a lovely 2 night stay. Nice quiet, comfortable room with a great power shower. Breakfast was really tasty with plenty for us to choose from. I can’t praise the staff & service high enough. Every member of staff was helpful, polite & so hard working. I have no doubt we will be back some time.

Excellent deal for dinner, bed and breakfast at this time of year. My room was upgraded as a birthday treat, and a lovely surprise of prosecco in the room. Beautiful historic building in a great location close to Whitby.

Very clean, nice food and very friendly and attentive staff, especially Molly, she seemed to be everywhere, and nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely stay at Dunsley Hall, super room, perfect for watching the sun come up over the sea. Super friendly staff and a lovely welcoming place.

Just got back from a night at Dunsley. Was very nice until this mornings breakfast. The lady waiting on our table just couldn’t be bothered actually working today I don’t think. There were 6 of us and she got our whole order wrong, she was abrupt and rude. We kept having to ask for “warm toast” where she practically threw it on the table. We never got our drinks after asking 3 times so we had to ask another member of staff. Also asked for a croissant and it came out cold and burnt. I don’t normally write reviews but felt I need to on this occasion. We won’t be returning.

The food was amazing, the rooms were lovely and the building beautiful. Very clean, super attentive staff. Odd little things… no horseradish for the beef and the wine was served on a little silver trivet that hadn’t seen silver polish in years. Quite a few bulbs out in the dining room… Wi-Fi useless… but we didn’t go for Wi-Fi, tarnished silver or horseradish, we went for a lovely weekend which we got.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. Bedroom was huge and very comfortable, food was excellent, complimentary sherry and champagne with the evening meal is a lovely touch. Staff were all very friendly. We had a fabulous weekend break and would definitely go back.

Just come back from a one night stay at this beautiful Victorian country house hotel that we would highly recommend. The staff were so lovely, they made you feel very welcome and very accommodating. We had drinks in the hotel bar which for a gin and tonic and a pint of Stella cost £11 which is fairly priced.
Our room was very comfortable, spacious with a nice sized bathroom and you get a lovely choice of tea, coffee, hot choc and biscuits.
The hotel itself is Victorian and this was complimented with the decor and beautiful furniture with a wee little fella on the stairs that I took a shine for.
We didnt eat dinner at the hotel as we went for a night out in Whitby which the hotel booked our taxi which was a 5 minute drive costing £9.00.
Breakfast was a nice selection — recommend the poached eggs they were perfect!

Rooms we had was like a small flat food was excellent paid £40 for 3 course meal for 2 people very nice a pint of stella was £4.95 not too bad on price room was £79 included was breakfast large choice to eat would we come again very much so overall it was good 9/10

It's a beautiful stunning place to stay. A complimentary glass of sherry in the drawing room Room 3 absolutely beautiful overlooking the gardens. Breakfast really good too.

Beautiful building, tranquil surroundings, gardens are amazing. Rooms a good size and fully equipped. The bed is so comfy. The food in the restaurant is delicious and highly recommendable.

Stayed for only one night as We had a Male Voice Choir concert in Whitby. Wish we could have stayed longer as the hotel is an ideal quiet location with Whitby just 10 mins away. Room 2 was very large, excellent view over the nice gardens. Very comfortable. Staff pleasant & helpful. Nice breakfast. We will be coming back at some point in the future. We highly recommend the hotel.

What a hidden gem this place proved to be. Only stayed for 1 night but will definitely be going back for longer. Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms large and comfortable. The evening meal we had was excellent with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend.

Can’t stop saying wow absolutely stunning place as soon as you drive in through the gates you get the wow factor, beautiful bar and lounge stunning rooms and very helpful staff. 5 stars from me.

Had a lovely night here with my wife for our anniversary. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal, and breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Will certainly be back.

We had a group ranging from age 5 to 80 and everyone loved their stat here. It's beautiful and the staff are lovely too.

The staff are friendly and the venue is no. It's starting to show it's age but the staff make up for it. Don't expect a manor house feel. But a well worth stay.

We rung to book a room for this coming Saturday, 30th of June. To be told yes we have one available. It'll be £160! My husband questioned this as the price online was £120. The receptionist went to speak to a manager and came back to say they could do it at that price. All was agreed and our booking was finalised. Today, 5 days before we're due to check in we receive an email to say, sorry. Your room is no longer available. So now, we're due to attend a wedding in Whitby with no room to stay in. Thanks Dunsley Hall! We definitely won't be recommending you!

Brilliant Victorian Manor House hotel. Beautiful location, friendly staff, clean and full of character. Some excellent deals at the moment with stay, tea and breakfast. Bar is distinctly old school which adds to the charm loved it and would definitely visit again in the future.

Good accommodation. Good breakfast. Quiet. Nice grounds to just sit and relax in. Rooms have underfloor heating in the en suite. In our room was too warm. But overall good.

Visited many times always great service and accommodation fabulous value.

Loved the two nights here. It waa a stormy night, but room was perfect and added to the atmosphere.

Not as expected 4 of us checked in with 3 rooms 5, 7 and 10. Fist we went to room 7 it really did smell of drains told reception they said they would sort it out as the cleaner had commented about it as well … Then room 5 like a comedy sketch really to open the door one had to lift and the other turn the handle when key turned in the door. Then onto room 10 at last nice. We went for my sister in-laws 60th birthday and expected better. We went out for the day and got back to find room 7 was just like it had been saturated with bleach that was the smell now. We went back to reception and asked if we could change rooms and to my surprise the very rude receptionist said nope fully booked so that was that. All went back to our rooms but we forgot about room 5 and one of our party that had that room had to come and get me from room 10 to help him open the door after trying for almost 20 minutes. We then after resting for about 1 hour eventually ventured back out and went for a fish and chip supper in Whitby that was fantastic. Got back to hotel or should I say "faulty tower's" as we all wanted to get some sleep for the following day. We all meet up in the morning for breakfast my sister in law who had room 7 said she did not get much sleep as there was some loud guest shouting until around 1am. The other thing she said that the water in room 7 was not that warm and came out really slow, and the room started smeling again of drains getting stronger through the night and felt sick.

We had a two night stay here with friends. We all agree that it is a brilliant place to stay. The hotel is comfortable and furnished in keeping with the house. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. We had dinner on both nights which was three courses of beautifully presented and delicious food. Breakfast was just as good. Very good value and well worth a visit.

We have just come back from a one night stay at Dunsley Hall my only one criticism is I never booked for two nights, our room was like a little flat, the bar area we found very welcoming and love the vintage look if this hotel staff very friendly, we booked a table for 8 pm very good service and well the food was amazing you could not fault one thing about it apart from we had no room for pudding, tea and coffe in lounge after was equally relaxing, then to get up to an amazing breakfast with lots of choice awesome, for the price we paid it’s fab well done Dunsley Hall I had an amazing stay with you it was my birthday and it was a lovely find! We will be back but for longer next time.

We had a family birthday meal here with 15 guests. 3 courses each, excellent food and a relaxed atmosphere. Recommended!

Stay away from room 7. Terrible room. Used by staff for showering etc. Mattress as flat as a pancake. Shower totally useless. Meal was great tho. But did get a bill from bar after paying cash all night. Staff lovely. No sleep tho. Had to come home straight after not we had planned for my wife's 60th birthday. Too knackered to do owt.

Absolutely stunning hotel and location. The room was beautifully appointed and superbly finished. We had an evening meal and breakfast and the food for both was top notch! We couldn't have been happier with our stay!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Food was beautiful. Only downside was the TV in the room didn't work and we had 2 single beds pushed together instead of a double. Apart from that everything was great.

We took advantage of the Sunday Lunch offer, as advertised in the Whitby Gazette, and we were not disappointed. The meal was delicious, excellent value-for-money, beautifully presented and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The dining room is lovely with linen table-cloths and napkins and the setting of the hotel is magnificent. Thank you to everyone at Dunsley Hall for making our Sunday lunch a very pleasant experience. We'll be back!

Location is fabulous. Great building with peacocks wandering around the estate. Fabulous public rooms, great venue, good service. The food is excellent. Expensive, but excellent. The only reason I don't give them a five-star rating is because their Sunday lunch, which used to be good quality and a reasonable price. They started knocking in-between courses off (amuse bouche, yorkshire pudding course) while at the same time raising the price. For that reason I stopped going, but still it's a great place.
