Farr Bay Inn Hotel

We had such a lovely experience staying here for a few days, we were in one of the cottages but spent a lot of time in the hotel Karan and her family/staff couldn’t be more accommodating and helpful From breakfast to our evening meals and drinks was just incredible Would highly recommend.

Fantastic stay here while Touring Scotland, fantastic large bedroom in a lovely Georgian house, owner very helpful, We had an amazing meal on the night & breakfast was the best we have had on our Tour, amazing place, highly recommended! 10 out of 10!

An appalling place. Falsely advertised as a 'luxury cottage' the self contained accommodation we stayed in smelt of damp, the decor was poor, baler twine for a light switch, tired and cheap furnishings and white goods. Unkempt grounds dotted with rusting, broken down cars that have obviously been there for some considerable time. I can't comment on the hotel itself however if the standard of my cottage is anything to go by (this was an upgrade apparently) then I hate to think what the rest of the accommodation is like. To top it all, and a reflection of the cleaning regime, there was a shot glass on the kitchen window with a mouldy thistle standing in about a cm of brown stagnant water in it. When we complained the owner had the temerity to suggest the previous guest had left it there! I queried the owners use of the word 'luxury' and was informed that this was because it was 'self contained'. Obviously a new definition of the word luxury. I would say that a truer description would be tired and basic at best and certainly not worth £162.
The only positive about the Inn is its location as the beach is stunning. However I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere and driving to the outstanding and beautiful location.

The ‘luxury’ cottage with garden view is more like a basic accommodation overlooking a field. It had shoddy decor (see images), smelled of damp and was permanently cold. False advertising, dishonest service and massively overpriced. The beach behind the hotel is amazing though…!

As a local resident, we had a wonderful takeawy service provided during these difficult times. We ordered a rice bowl, Hereford beef burger, steak and ale pie. Well cooked and plenty of food. We appreciate the dedicated service when they should have had guests in their Inn and serving tourists, but have opened their kitchen to us. Thank you.

I cannot fault the facilities, views or people at all! All absolutely fantastic. Made to feel truly comfortable and at home! So friendly and accommodating, will be back! The dogs are an added bonus!

Gorgeous house and the beach is a short walk away! The food is delicious and the family that owns the property is incredibly kind. Stay here is you can!

Close to the beach, nice an welcoming staff and owners, very good accommodation. They have an aroma therapy as bath lotion … soooo great. Would stay at the F. B. I anytime again.

Our stay was just wonderful… from beginning to end. Our room was very spacious and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and Dinners were superb! The Steak and Ale Pie is out of this world. Karan and Steve were so welcoming as well as Luke and Jamie. Not forgetting Bruin and Tripod. We cannot wait to visit again.

Stopped of for lunch at the their cafe, had only been opened a few weeks the day we visited was the first day they were serving food, had only served tea, coffee before, pleasant staff, lovely sandwiches very reasonable prices.

Fantastic wee hotel! Stayed for a night on our NC500 trip and loved our room. Breakfast was excellent and the owners were very friendly. Enjoyed it so much that we're heading back in a couple of months!

They can do better, the small room for 3 people and with way too decoration that reduces the space, should worry more about the cleanliness and avoid objects that produce even more dust like a lot of books and cushions, the bathroom a nightmare, the shower Sometimes suddenly the cold water comes out and the canilizacion was clogged, I couldn't take my shower. A great puppy very cute but not all people have charisma towards animals, in conclusion I do not recommend that place.

The owners are lovely and welcoming lovely bedroom comfy beds And lovely dinner and breakfast thank you very very very much.

A beautiful place to be, owners are so welcoming and very friendly, family run hotel with great food a lot of which is homemade, nice and quite at night to get a goodnights sleep room was very clean and nothing was too much trouble if any extras were needed, close to beach for some relaxation, can't wait to come back.
