We went for afternoon tea this week for my sisters birthday and loved it. Lots to choose from for the price and all homemade! Our visit was made even more enjoyable with the lovely Richard who served us and made sure we were taken care of. Cosy atmosphere and sitting next to the fireplace. Only thing I would fault was the salmon sandwiches but that’s only personal taste as it all looked immaculate. Will definitely be back 😊

I cannot praise this hotel and it's team highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted and made to feel very welcome. The team couldn't do enough for us, from arranging for extra guests to join us for breakfast, to finding us a white umbrella we could borrow and re-icing the wedding cake, they went out of their way to make our wedding day absolutely perfect. We stayed here for two nights for our wedding, with a meal for us and 11 guests. Everything was arranged remotely, all the way from Cornwall. We had no opportunity to view the hotel (other than online), or meet anyone, and the team got everything spot on. Everyone was well cared for, everything on time, nothing missing and, well, they certainly went over and above. The food was outstanding! We love the style of the hotel. So perfect for us. The rooms were beautiful 🥰 If you are considering booking this hotel for your big day, you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much to all of you for making our day so very special x.

My son had his wedding reception here food and service was excellent, staff all very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Attention and details to make the day special excellent. The rooms were spacious we had Romeo and Julie suite everything needed was there large spacious rooms very well kept. Overall would recommend for break or special celebration 🍾

The room was lovely the food was lovely, some staff were really lovely and couldn't do enough for us but unfortunately this was let down by the rude staff.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff and amazing food. We got married here last year and the staff couldn't do enough for us! the day ran smoothly and everybody commented on the quality of the food. We still come back here after our wedding as no hotel has measured up to since.

Had our wedding here yesterday couldn’t have had a better day, the staff where fantastic, food and service second to non.
Lovely big rooms, comfortable beds we had a fantastic four poster and a massive jacuzzi bath.

Had my wedding reception here. Food was amazing and the room size was ideal for the children to play around in without upsetting others.

We had our wedding reception here and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We brought 32 guests and stayed for 2 nights and I can’t rate it highly enough. The owners and staff were lovely, the service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the room was very spacious with a really comfortable bed. Huge thank you for making our stay and our wedding day so special.

We stayed in the hotel this weekend and had our wedding reception in the lovely dining room. All staff were so so helpful but particularly the younger staff running our reception and serving the wedding breakfast. Everyone from front of house to room service were so caring, helpful and friendly and they certainly know how to ensure you have a fantastic stay. We will defo be back to stay as a couple and can’t thank you all enough for an amazing weekend.

Bar manager was lovely kept bar open till wee hours of the morning food was very tasty and service very professional.

Sad to be leaving today. Carolyn stayed for 3 nights I stayed 2 nights for our wedding. The staff at the Chase were fantastic as was the food and drink. Thank you for the bubbly and the chocolates. Very unhelpful and unwilling to make any changes to a wedding package when we were let down by numbers.

Warm and friendly and great food and drink. Just off the highway so handy. Not too big but very comfortable.

This hotel is a real gem, lovely grounds, superb rooms and the best kept hotel we have stayed in and there have been many. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We would thoroughly recommend everything about it.

Lovely place and location, lovely attentive staff. Range of draft ales limited didnt like style of wine glass but food excellent and nicely presented.

Beautiful setting and staff so pleasant and accommodating. Brilliant position just off M6. Room 1 was a delight with lovely views.

Had the absolute pleasure of spending two days pre wedding staying at the Gretna Chase. The rooms were incredible especially the Adam and Eve honeymoon suite, such a beautiful romantic room. The hotel gardens are beautiful and perfect for wedding photos. The staff were friendly, polite and very attentive. All our bridal party stayed there and we had such an amazing experience that we are all planning to return for our first wedding anniversary in May 2019. Our bridal dinner was awesome, the tables were decorated beautifully and all 7 of us had a wonderful experience, apart from the bride and groom when one of our bridesmaids spilled a glass of red wine all over my dress and my husband's kilt. The staff and soda water were quick to remedy the situation and we continued with our wedding dinner, apart from the bridesmaid who was sent to her room lol. Looking forward to our return and would recommend a stay whether you are a bride or a visitor to the area.

Went for our friends wedding. We were made to feel really welcome, the staff were friendly. The hotel was spotless! Tasty breakfast in the morning and the evening meals were excellent!

Lovely hotel staff very friendly and rooms was gorgeous couldn't have done more for our larger party for my aunty and uncle's wedding all family had a fab time and the food is to die for will Defo be back again.

We went here because my partner has been in the past a few years ago. Nice atmosphere and quiet. He ordered the soup and toasty which was nice. I ordered the chicken bacon and pesto ciabatta with chips. Chips were nice but the ciabatta had melted cheese on it which it didn’t say on the menu. I hate cheese particularly with chicken! I only ate half (with cheese picked off) and my partner ate the other half. I didn’t particularly like it. We ordered 2 diet cokes but were brought 2 Diet Pepsi’s. As these had already been opened by the waitress, we just accepted them but again neither of us are keen on Pepsi and would have ordered some other drink had we known they didn’t serve Diet Coke. The staff should really state this whilst the order is being taken. Likewise the menu should indicate everything that in their panini’s. Service was good and food was warm but I don’t think we would return.

We were recommended the Steak and wine for £30 by another hotel in Gretna. Not disappointed at all. The wine, steak and service were top notch. Very welcoming staff too.

We always have a very pleasant stay at the Gretna Chase Hotel. If you are looking for a relaxing stay this is the hotel for you. Since my hubby and I got married at the Old Blacksmiths 5 years ago we have been going back there whenever we can't get away to celebrate our anniversary. It's a quiet hotel with pleasant surroundings and is literally just before the sign saying welcome to England. The hotel is clean, the rooms are a good size, especially the bridal suites with four poster beds, air baths and separate shower cubicle. The food is of a good standard and the staff are great. They were very accommodating on our most recent visit as hubby had gotten his dates mixed up and we arrived a week early. Luckily they had a room free we could have for two nights and we were saved the long trip back up the road to Falkirk.

Love this hotel lovely gardens to relax in the hotel is lovely and cosey rooms a big and homely u have a choice of a bath or shower in ur bathroom the food is faultless and the staff go the extra mile for u well done would not hesitate to stay again highly reccomend this hotel.

Came here for a few days for my aunt and uncle's wedding with my wife and 7yr old son and wow what an wonderful hotel the room was beautiful the food was beautiful and lovely and the shower was ace all the staff very friendly and smiling even when 5 kids all playing will Defo be back 100%

The owners should be congratulated as this is a charming hotel and I have no hesitation in recommending it. We stayed overnight to attend a birthday party as it was just a little too far for us to drive. Though the reviews I read were good, I was still a little apprehensive as a couple of stays in 4 and 5 star hotels around the UK earlier in the year had been so disappointing! We checked into the Gretna Chase at 2:30 and I was delighted with the room. It was large, comfortable and well thought out. The hotel and grounds are kept pristine and the breakfast in the morning was served by two delightful young girls. The choice was plentiful and cooked to order, so was piping hot…
Of all the hotels we have stayed in recently, the Gretna Chase is at the top of the list so far!

One the best hotels I have stayed in, the staff were very attentive and no matter the issue it was never a problem, the food was amazing and the rooms were an extremely high standard, I really did enjoy my stay in the hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here for my daughters wedding (8.7.17) in the Romeo n Juliet room, it was comfortable, clean and beautiful. The food on the wedding day was really nice and the service was great, so too was the food in the restaurant. Steak nights are great value for money! The overall experience was great and we were very well looked after by the staff.

Comfortable large rooms, good wholesome meals, reasonable prices, very handy for the motorway.

My new favourite place to have lunch, have been several times recently and have loved the food every time, fantastic menu with daily specials menu including several vegetarian options. Always get great service and looking forward to trying their steak nights, would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Gretna Chase and had our Wedding Reception there. We had the Franchesca and Paola Bridal Suit which was beautiful on the ground floor. All the staff were so helpful and made our day special, nothing was too much trouble. In the weeks leading up to the wedding they were so helpful and efficient, and also during our stay. Our wedding meal was lovely and all the bar meals to. All our guests have commented on how lovely the wedding meal was, and how quickly everyone was served and looked after. We had the turkey option and everyone was pleased. All our guests were definitely impressed and we would recommend the Gretna Chase as a wedding venue. I like to start off by saying thank you to all the staff for providing excellent service on my wedding day 18/07/16 food was at the highest quality so I reserve a special thank you to the chef but all in all I would certainly recommend to anyone who will be getting married to consider this venue I will be going back in the near future to this lovely place.

Lovely place to stay in nice and clean staff are really good and meals are good all round nice place.

This hotel is excellent, the service and food are perfect, Saturday 7/11/15, two young ladies serving food, and these young girls know exactly how to do the job to perfection, so nice to see someone enjoy what they do. Abby that took care of our table is just such a nice young lady with a great sense of humour, and is a delight to meet. A party of four, stayed three days and nights, and in that time we could not fault the hotel in one single way. We travel a lot, and this hotel, along with the staff come in as our first and foremost place to stay. Rooms immaculate, all service is just so good. nothing is too much for them, to help, and the most important thing of all, no matter where you meet a member of staff, in and around the hotel, they always say hello to you. By far the best staffed hotel I have ever stayed in. Breakfast is brilliant. We will certainly return here. Thank you to all of you at the Gretna chase hotel, for just being perfect.

Stayed here in July 2012 chose this hotel as part of one stop wedding package, I was not disappointed. The first two nights we stayed in the Adam and Eve suite, beautiful with a Jacuzzi to die for, the must have for a romantic wedding, the hotel itself is so beautiful and traditional. The food is exceptional and the staff are amazing. The third night we stayed in the Romeo and Juliet suite, again beautiful. If ever I should be lucky enough to win the lotto this would be a cert for my to buy list. I would say to anyone looking for that special place this is it.
