Me and my husband got married here on Monday and it was the most magical day! The hotel and grounds are just stunning and the staff are so lovely and helpful! Special mention to Stewart, our wedding coordinator! From feeding the baby (twice) to sorting my dress he was just absolutely amazing and everyone loved him! Thank you all so much for making our day so special! We'll be back next year to celebrate our anniversary ❤️

Staff were great, food was lovely, rooms were lovely and the gardens lovely.

We had our wedding here last month and it was just an amazing experience from start to finish. We were made to feel special and nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly, professional and organised staff. We would highly recommend this hotel and there was nothing to fault at all, just perfect!

Had our wedding here. Everything was so perfect. Jackie and James on reception are a credit to your team. Food good quality and portion sizes more than adequate. Room OK Ibbetson room. View not good but was clean and served it purpose. The grounds are stunning for photos. We were very lucky to have such hot weather during our stay… Thankyou for making our wedding day so special. Can now see why people come to Gretna. Absolutely magnificent. X.

Warm welcoming staff who couldn’t do enough for us when we stayed at Gretna Hall Hotel for our wedding on Sunday 13th February 2022. The hotel took great care of our wedding cake and favour boxes displaying them beautifully on our wedding breakfast table. Anything we requested was actioned without any hesitation. Our bridal suite was just amazing and the food was outstanding throughout our 2 night stay. Anyone thinking of getting married at Gretna Green then this is the hotel for you.

We married here three years ago and came back to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Lovely staff, beautiful rooms and a fantastic restaurant.

Everything was fantastic from start to finish. They were so accommodating and helpful. All of our guests really enjoyed the food, accommodation and the atmosphere.

Beautiful place, we stayed for our wedding. The family room is amazing and the staff were fantastic. The field there was perfect for our 20 guests and children, many treasured memories there, we can’t wait to go back for our anniversary. Also the gardens are gorgeous.

We had our wedding here and stayed for 2 nights it was fantastic! The food was amazing, all our guests loved it, we really couldn’t find any faults, the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Great place, staff couldn’t do enough for you, food was great but watch the bread rolls, one of our wedding party had a mouldy one, which was quickly replaced.

We married here on the 28th of December 2020 and can not praise the staff enough. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure you had a great stay regardless of restrictive times of Covid.

Wow, where to start!? We got married at Gretna Hall yesterday after arriving on Tuesday with a few guests and everything was amazing!
From arrival to check out the staff were so friendly and helpful, ensuring we had the best time and under very challenging circumstances. We were so lucky to be able to go ahead with our wedding and to have some guests there and felt totally safe the whole time we were there.
The food is amazing whether it's in the bar, restaurant, room service or for the wedding reception itself… everyone commented on how gorgeous the meal was!
We stayed in the Sheridan Grant suite which was just lovely! and enjoyed discovering the secret room!
The wedding itself was just perfect… very well organised and went like clockwork! Had some fab photos taken outside and even though it was raining, we really didn't care!
Thank you so much to the whole team for all your hard work, but special thanks to Bethany for booking everything and looking after us in the run up to the big day, Lyn who checked us in, Maria who took care of our dinner reservations and then the entire wedding reception service along with Anna, Sophie and the rest of the bar team for great service and smiles, Sarah at breakfast this morning and last but not least Kenny who seemed to know everything there is to know about the hotel and looked after us each night and on check out.

We stayed here for our wedding between 18th December 2020 and 20th of December 2020. Honestly couldn't recommend it enough, beautiful place to get married and even with the current world situation the place felt normal. All the staff were very catering and the wedding venue is delightful! glad we decided to go here to get married we only had 10 guests and was even more sentimental that way. Prices are great as well strongly recommend.

Married on the 4th December 2020, this place is amazing, double rooms are great and clean, food wise you better be hungry, fantastic value such beautiful surroundings, all the staff very professional many thanks.

We were married on the 17th November 2020 Perfect place for a romantic intimate wedding. Gretna did everything it was the least stressful day we could have hoped for, covid regulations in place helped us feel safe. Most importantly dogs can attend!

We had our perfect day at Gretna Hall back in March and have just booked to spend our anniversary there. Hotel is beautiful, the Wakefield-Turner suite was gorgeous, food very tasty and staff were all brilliant. Couldn't fault a thing and can't wait to go back!

Excellent experience tonight from start to end, decor is beautiful, staff are attentive and friendly never had to ask the waitress for anything as she was on the ball! The food was amazing! Can’t wait to come back! Our new favourite place to eat! Thank you for a lovely evening!

Lovely stay this week. Staff very helpful and covid protection put in place. Our first meal out since lockdown and felt really comfortable. Food was very nice and seating well spaced. Our room was lovely newly refurbished as was all of the reception, lounge and dinning area. The gardens and grounds are lovely. Would highly recommend.

Only been here 2 hours but already well satisfied. Staff really friendly. Room nice but tired looking and the bed well comfortable.
The hotel is having a refurb, new bedrooms coming soon, so it's work in progress just now but it doesn't impact on our stay.
The food is 1stclass, wonderfully cooked.
I have updated this post a couple of times so I hope it all makes sense.

All in all a lovely place, room was lovely food was delicious staff were friendly and welcoming and although not quite full bloom yet the grounds have some lovley spots for photos ☺

Had a great stay here. Great to see they are refurbishing the hotel. Meals were great. Special mention for Becky who was very friendly and helpful.

Love it here! Food is great, staff are friendly and attentive and it holds lots of fantastic memories as we got married in the Coach House next door, so every anniversary will be spent here!

Fantastic hotel… We had the honour of dressing this amazing venue for a wedding. We are from Whitby so decided to make a night of it and stop over…

Visited today to see the venue and facilities ready for our daughters wedding on Burns night, we were not disappointed, lovely hotel, location, accommodation and super friendly staff, we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Beautiful Hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was amazing, the food even better. Loved it that much we even booked our wedding.

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience at Gretna Hall. We stayed for two nights in the Sheridan and Grant Bridal Suite. The suite was stunning, spacious and charming. It was just the two of us on the day we got married and the wedding team were organised, punctual and warm for the entire duration of our stay. We had the most romantic ceremony in the Cottage, nothing felt rushed, it just ran like clock work. We were made to feel like royalty all day, from getting ready, to the ceremony, to drinking champagne in the bar afterwards chatting to the friendly staff and guests, to our wedding dinner and even the DJ wouldn’t let us get away without having our first dance. We felt very special, very in love and all thanks to the team at Gretna Hall for exceptional customer service. I just wish I could go back and do it all again.

We were married on the 20/8/19 and it was the most amazing day, the staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms were spotless we couldn’t fault it at all, thank you so much for making our day so special x.

Just a really lovely place to stay. It has a very relaxing atmosphere, the staff were all lovely. And the food was absolutely lovely. Only down side was room was at the back and so is the M6! Noisy.

Stayed in the Wakefield Turner Suite, what a room! Absolutely gorgeous from the roll top bath & huge wet room shower to the modern 4 poster. The whole hotel is stunning, staff very friendly & helpful & food delicious. What a lovely place this would be to get married.

04/05/2019 we said our Vows. They made everything perfect for us and what a perfect day it was for us. Lovely staff. Very accommodating couldn't ask for anything else so thank you.

Staff were friendly, and the restaurant was good. The room I stayed was well worn but clean. No windows in the room as it only had patio doors. Not ideal if you just wanted some ventalation without having a door open to the outside.

Very nice (cosy) rooms, nice bar and restaurant. Breakfast good set up and quality but because buffet style, some things where in trays too long eg: — links and black pudding on my visit.

Loved this hotel from start to finish. We had a smallish double room downstairs with doors leading to a small private terrace area with table and chairs leading to the front gardens. Lovely new en suite too. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, food was delightful. Had a good look around the relaxing gardens and marriage rooms. What's not to love. Booked up for next year now. Can't wait!

Nice hotel. Well managed and all staff offer brilliant service. The rooms need a little modernizing but are clean and tidy.

We got married at the Famous Blacksmiths Shop on 8th June and stayed here the night before as well as the evening of the wedding with members of family and friends. My room the night before the wedding was lovely, very comfortable and very nicely decorated. Some of the rooms on other floors haven’t been refurbished yet but we’re still reasonable and plenty good enough for the amount of time spent in them. The Quensberry honeymoon suite however was out of this world. Absolutely gorgeous I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked in. We all had a meal the night before in the bar and all food was very nice and reasonably priced and the decor of the bar and restaurant area is fantastic. All staff were very friendly and I must say work very hard because the same ones always seemed to be there no matter what time of day or night especially Stuart and India. India was very helpful and set out some table decorations and other bits and pieces for our wedding reception they were exactly as I’d asked she did a great job. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We’ve already booked to come and stay again next year for our first wedding anniversary. I can’t wait to see how good it will look by then with the continued improvements.

Food wasn't great. Rooms were small. A faint odour of turps everywhere. Our room wasn't very clean when we checked in, there was hair in the plug hole. And when are UK hotels going to understand that air con is a viable thing in the UK now and that some guests may want it. It was quaint enough but so obviously caters to two specific groups of clientele. The wedding party and the coach party. The staff are efficient and friendly and the breakfast was actually alright.

Our room was small, dirty (stains on the wall and on the carpet) taps were impossible for my partner to turn on, not enough storage in room. Lovely location. Lovely public areas. Food was amazing (breakfast and Evening meal) all in all not worth the £110 we paid a night.

Did not stay here, but did get married in the Cottage wedding venue. Had a great evening meal also. If you want to do the 'run away to Gretna' style wedding, consider staying at this hotel.

Very nice hotel back again in November for my wedding.

We got married here 21/4/2018 and from the moment we walked into the bridal suite (Sheridan suite the one with the secret room hidden in the wall) we loved it. The time and thought they had taken with the room from the towels made into a heart looked like kissing swans soft music playing and tea lights burning and champagne made it magical. Although we had problems leading up to the wedding with things getting mixed up the actual day was perfect thanks to the staff who couldn't have been more helpful. Food was very good too. So a big thank you to the lovely staff at Gretna hall hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a magical wedding or just an overnight stay.

Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Even without a lot of English knowledge good understanding. Always happy to stay there.

Nice hotel but mid refurb. Our room was recently refurbished and looked very presentable. Good hot shower. Bed acceptable, extra pillows provided, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, kettle and TV.

New waiting staff One just didn’t have a clue I said apart from ice cream what can the kids get he said ice cream. One staff member kept complaining she wanted to go home. So clean in lounge and our room. The reception staff went over and above to help. Food first night I waited an hour for starter. My wedding meal was great. New guy behind the bar was inexperienced but got there and was so nice to talk to. We were in old building qc our room was stunning candles lit and swan shape towels. The kids were comfy one of the kids room had old bath and it was chipped. The tiles were as old as hills. The location is perfect beautiful outside too. The toilets were broken and the men had to go to a room to go to toilet. Would recommend but ask for a room in the old side. They are nicer. May return if I am back out that way.

Rooms are being refurbished but did have a lovely dinner and very good breakfast.

The hotel was getting renovated and we were not told about it x no room in the bar to sit x definitely won't be back.

Staff are very helpful and will do anything for you food is great value and rooms are spacious and clean.

Stayed here for the night using a wowcher deal. And would of rated 3 stars due to the place being refurbished. But some of the staff were miserable manager was rude and room was very dated, mold and dead flies on the window blind. And some sort of sticky moldy stain on the bed sheets. However Pouwel at reception was brilliant helpful and maybe needs to teach some of the other staff how to appreciate a job.

My wife and I stayed here between Christmas and New Year, whilst we got married at the Famous Blacksmiths Shop. No this hotel hasn’t had the money spent on it like the others who are all owned by the same man and in some places it is tired and needs some TLC. BUT, having visited Smiths, my biggest concern is that Gretna Hall could loose its nostalgic charm and personal touches which Smiths definitely doesn’t have and could be part of any chain brand.
The most incredible part of this hotel is definitely the staff. From Brenda and the rest of the house keeping staff, to reception and the kitchen / waiting workers (especially Mon) nothing is too much trouble for them and they made our stay so very special. They went above and beyond to look after our needs and make my service dog, Milly, very happy. We can’t wait to come back — if only it wasn’t a 5 hour drive, it might be more regular! Thank you

Hotel is currently going though renovations, will be lovely when completed. The rooms are clean and good value for money, food is excellent and staff friendly and helpful.

Our daughter and partner married there a couple of weeks ago. Our room was lovely and view over the gardens at the front were nice too. Two of the other rooms (one at the back overlooking a bit of a mess) were very nice but our daughter and partners room was very dingy and dull. I asked her to change with us but she said no. Perhaps a little more thought could go into the planning of future arrangements of rooms that will go to the couple who are about to wed. Having said that our time there was good and staff very pleasant.

My daughter married here this weekend. Everything was very well organized and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Everyone had a lovely time. Recommended as as a venue.

Very clean and tidy bedrooms although there are some areas that need a little bit more sprucing up. Slept really well and the room I had was quiet which was lovely. Food was really good, buffet for breakfast; which was adequate but disappointing that as being in Scotland, there was not the choice of porage! Would come again without a doubt!

Very old fashioned needs updated badly. Looks good outside. But it's like going 50 years back in time inside.

We booked a table for 4 people a week before the date we booked. I was really looking forward to lovely T bone steak When we got there they didnt have our booking but did give us a table. we sat there for 15 minutes before they came for our order. I ordered my T bone steak so did my sister They came and told us that they only had one T bone steak The back ground noise was a loud thump thump from a disco in the next room which gave my elderly Mum a bad headache. WE were seated at 7, 10pm and was still waiting for out first course at 8.10pm We got up and left we were all very hungry and very disappointed. The service there was terrible We shall definitely not ever go back there again.

We purchased a wowcher deal. Well worth the money what you would expect. Met a lovely young couple who won a comp at the wedding fayre there room was a suite it was amazing secret room and all.

Front reception was not too welcoming. A dated but nice place. Room was clean and cheerful.

My now husband and myself were married here in March and while the ceremony and the food was good, the room was shocking. Very much out of date, not very clean and a bathroom which was clearly for disabled use. The dead flies in all the light shades were utterly disgusting! Of course we filled out the feedback card in our room and handed it to reception on checkout but we've not even had so much as an apology. We were told the card would be passed on to whoever deals with complaints so its either been ignored or not passed on at all. £650 we paid because it was a week day, it's higher at the weekend and if you have guests etc. It's definitely not worth it! Oh and that didn't included a meal, breakfast only.

Location good for travelling north on A74, plenty of parking, friendly enough reception, bijou room, clean, chair in odd dark corner but nowhere else to site it, pillows good, double bed definitely not so, noise from nearby A74 all night, breakfast good. Reasonably priced on a Wednesday, probably won't use it again.

Last year I was on vacation in Scotland, on the journey back we stayed at this hotel for one night. Sadly, I didn't get much sleep. Around midnight some other guests, seemingly heavily inebriated arrived. For the next hour it seemed they were demolishing the hotel. The rooms were okay, nothing to brag about, though. The food was all right.

Staff were fantastic but the Hotel is dirty worn-out our 1st room with in minutes of entering the room my partner had sliced her fingers on shards of glass. Room was like being in a freezer shower curtain was dirty windows had cold air blowing through them. Moved to 2nd room not much better cost £75 per night for standard room stayed in £15 rooms much much better. Other members of the wedding party had even worse problems including a window falling out. Would never stay there again.

This hotel feels a little worn as you enter but smiles from staff make up for that. The bar was quiet and we were well looked after.

Stayed at the hotel for a wedding function. The staff are what makes this hotel. They were friendly, courteous and couldn't do enough to help all through the weekend. The food was excellent quality, the hotel atmosphere was warm and friendly. The bedrooms are basic but they are clean, have all you need and bearing in mind the price are good value.

We visited this hotel twice this year: the second time we got married in it! Our bridal suite was big, comfortable and quiet. We were slightly disappointed that the bed on our second visit when it really counted was no longer the four-poster that we had on our earlier reconnaissance visit but something quite ordinary! However, the arrangements for our wedding were spot-on. It took place in the beautiful garden and was indeed a day to treasure and remember. 5-star for the experience, 4-star for the change of bed.

There appears to be some fantastic reviews as regards this establishment, it sounds like utopia. On our stay there quite recently it appeared quite different, the Bridal Suite was something of an anti climax. The view was none existent, cupboards with hinges falling off, light bulbs inoperative, and some of the utensils were old and worn out/rusty. On arrival we were badgered for additional monies even though the receipt was paid up months prior. Also the flower arrangements that was entrusted to the Hotel was not put on the table without having to be asked specifically for. On a brighter note the staff were very kind/helpful.

We stayed here on our wedding anniversary and found the stafg to be very polite and helpful. The room was very clean and tidy The food was excellent and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We got married at gretna hall Hotel on 11th Aug 2012. When we arrived the hotel was heaving with guests. There was a small mix up with a few of our guests rooms but was sorted within minutes. The food was lovely the rooms were nice. Our bridle suite was so perfect we couldnt have asked for more. Our wedding day was very special to us and a day that we will remember. For ever thanx to all the staff at the Hall. Thank you. Mr and Mrs Thomas. Shropshire.
