Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast especially the haggis is fantastic. Great value at £6 per head.

Brilliant service and great food. We were advised to go here by the b&b onwer that we were staying with. The portions were great and the service was quick and price was great too. Would definitely recommend this pub restaurant.

Staff were excellent and the food superb. Rooms had comfortable beds and all facilities needed including steam iron and board.

Stayed overnight. Rooms were a bit dated but clean. Was a bit warm but that was the weather as well. Dinner was good portions and the meats cooked beautifully — a bit under seasoned and bland for my taste but that's a personal thing. Breakfast was very good. Best thing about the place are the staff… very friendly and efficient. For the price paid — very fair.

Had dinner at this hotel and it was lovely. Surroundings fairly basic but it was clean. Pleasant staff and food was good.

Stayed here over the weekend, was down to organise our wedding in October. The hotel is lovely the staff are so nice and friendly, we have actually arranged now to have our wedding meal in this hotel and booked up all the rooms that were left for the same weekend. The breakfast was brilliant too looking forward to our wedding now.

Staff were great, food was great, and no complaints about our room. Excellent value for money. Wifi worked perfectly, and parking wasn't an issue. Will definitely stay here again.

Just revisited Gretna for our silver wedding, as married there. The Hazeldene staff really helpful and friendly, room excellent, breakfast freshly cooked and varied choice available. will definately return and recommend.

Stayed here for my mums wedding and was not happy with anything to be honest. When I got there I payed £120 for 2 nights for a tiny room and crappy breakfast. When we had food I had the steak that had no flavour and wasnt cooked how I wanted it and my mrs had the chicken that was really bland and dry, it was just awful. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Awful will definitely not be back. Owners children running around screaming meal not good told they were big portions not a chance. Kids helping themselves behind bar. Men swearing f f not nice gave up and went to bed. Only three tea bags for the two of us. Room very shabby. Got up this morning cold shower when I complained was told O the safety switch must have kicked in.! there must have been at least a dozen people came in the restaurant when having breakfast was told they were taxi men they were wandering around not getting anything walking behind the bar not very pleasant This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Just as well the owners have sold hope the new managers can do better.

Were there for new years eve food, entertainment and staff were wonderful. Pet friendly which was great.

Excellent accommodation. The breakfast is cooked fresh and was lovely on both days we stopped. The food in the resteraunt is superb with homecooked nachos and bread.! Would highly recommend and will definitely be booking again on our next trip to Gretna Green.

Stayed here on the 14/10/17 was fully booked by my sons wedding party all rooms booked we all had a great day and the hotel was absolutely great value. The meals were excellent and very large portion's all staff were more than helpful with any our needs and the hotel was very welcoming with the children also the hotel owner took time to come in on his day off to meet and greet all guest. Would recommended this hotel to anybody thanks again to kieran.

Go to center Parcs Penrith every year and used to go to Gretna centre for breakfast on way. Last year we decided to try Hazeldene hotel and was far better. Went back again today and weren't disappointed. Good good, service and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be making this our regular breakfast stop.

You have a choice when booking. Personally I like this place. Food portions massive. Rooms adequate but immaculately clean Staff warm and friendly. Suited me down to the ground. Other people might disagree and you might be able to find cheaper but we enjoyed the place.

Called in for dinner whilst visiting Gretna Green, it's just over the road from the museum. The food was good and well priced and plenty of it. Another good thing was the dog was aloud in the bar area, it was the waitresses first day and she done really well and had the answer to any question we had. Will visit again when in the area. Enjoyed Scottish Pie here, while on holiday. Staff helpful — provided small meal for my wife at half price.

Friendly staff but very poor food. Worst I've ever had. Kids tomato pasta was basically cheap sweetened tomato ketchup mixed with overcooked pasta. Sweet and sour veg was again too sweet to eat and tasted like it came straight from a huge vat of pre-made sauce. To be fair they offered me something else but by then it was too late to eat. I also wasn't charged for my food which was fair. The steaks and burgers that passed looked good but poor got vegetarians. They also have fish listed as veggie! Haven't seen that mistake for years. Avoid if you're vegetarian.

Fiance's food was good and so was the starter but my gammon was tough to the point I needed a steak knife to cut it and even that didn't help. Advised we did not want to pay full price for it and the manager wasn't particularly concerned about the poor quality of food and was accusatory when asking why it wasn't mentioned when we were checked on but relented when advised we weren't checked on.

Five of us called here for a meal after my husband and I renewed our wedding vows at the Blacksmiths shop. The standard of food was excellent, all cooked fresh and to perfection. Between us we had a variety off the menu and each person stated how lovely their meal was. Staff were friendly and helpful, what more could you ask for. It just added to a special day.

Good food, well cooked. Attentive service. Can't speak for the beer as I was driving and didn't have any. Though the lime and soda was decent.

Stayed here for our youngest daughter's wedding in the first week of May. There were 8 of us and 5 dogs in total. Dog friendly bar with a basic but good menu. The food and drink were amazing value and the portions were huge. The breakfasts were something else! We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Willy in the bar fell over himself to be helpful. Shame they ran out of Amstel and Murphy's. The locals who used the the bar are friendly and chatty. Sometimes you don't find this to be the case. We had a deluxe double room and found this to be of a reasonable standard. The bed was huge and comfy and the area was quiet enough to have an undisturbed night's rest. The famous Blacksmiths is a short walk up the road. We had a great time here and would happily return.

Stayed two nights 20/3-22/3with my family for a wedding at the forge, fantastic hotel, warm friendly management and staff, the hotel is well run the food is very good and the helpings are very generous, the hotel clean and very comfortable we were made to feel like family not guests if I return to this area it is the only place I will stay, I strongly recommend the Hazeldene Hotel as the place to stay. Wish I could have stayed longer.

We had our wedding reception there and stayed for 2 nights with all our guest staying there also. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, could not do enough to make our stay and wedding a special day. The rooms were lovely and clean. The food was fantastic, good portions and well presented. Our day was fantastic and would very much recommend the Hazeldene who helped towards making it all go well.
