I have to applaud the staff and management of the Grand Ash for being so friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay and would most definitely consider coming back!

What a disgusting place. Didn't even stay there 10 minutes before realising what a mistake I've made. The room smelt like mould, there were stains on the floor and the bathroom was hideous. This place needs to be closed down ASAP! Would not recommend to anyone…

Just had two nights here and I will definitely be coming back. Staff were brilliant and really helpful even when I got here incredibly late. People say it's in need of updating, I say I'd rather the old decor because it's clean comfortable friendly and homely and above all cheep. Breakfast was just right. Thank you for keeping the seaside B&B charm that is missing from so many places now.

The grand hotel has a great location next to pier and not far from shops, bars and eating places. It needs refurbished as very outdated and old fashioned. This hotel is more for the over 60's. The only good thing about our stay was we had a room over looking pier and sea which had fantastic views. They should have written NOT SO above the GRAND on the building!

My husband and I stayed there 24/28th june 2016 NEVER again breakfast was awful as was the evening meals, bed linen was ripped carpets worn. When ppl walked on the landing it creaked loudly (you couldnt sneak up and surprise someone) IF we ever go back we wont be staying there again. On a plus side staff were lovely.

Very noisy from inside the hotel and from outside! It is impossible to sleep well. The blanket is very-very hot inspite of the summer time : ( The quality of everything like beds, bathroom, taps, windows e. T. C. Are very low. The appearance is like from Soviet Union times. It is impossible to find the free place for parking car.

The hotel is situated on a wide avenue that links both the north and west shore, its ideal for the shops and other attractions, just yards from loads of restaurants and pubs. Its olde world victorian charm has a quiet appeal from the noise of the main street. The rooms are clean and bright with nice beds and clean linen, the breakfast was more than adequate and had a good selection served by friendly helpful staff.

This hotel could be so much more, poor decor. Carpets worn out, rooms dirty, probably last decorated when it was newly built.

I don't understand why people are writing bad reviews for this hotel. Me and my partner stayed at the grand march 2016 and we loved it our room was 332 and it was very spacious had a lovely view from the balcony even though it was at the back of the hotel we could still see the sea and our bathroom was huge. Please give this hotel a chance the decor goes well with the age of the hotel the night time entertainment was brilliant the staff are super friendly. we will book this hotel again in the future.

Under no circumstances stay in this hotel it is awful. Stayed two nights in October 2014 and it was full of ghastly liverpudlians, Staff must have been on mind bending drugs they were terrible — suggest they should all be sent to charm school and the place bulldozed, Room was hellish like something out of a Harold Pinter play — grotty grotty grotty. Food not much better greasy and that was just the foreign serving staff — Fawlty towers lives on.

only thing good is the location facing the sea.

Im here right now. Dirty dirty dirty. I went in to the bathroom to find hair on the toilet, and long hairs on the tiled shower wall. It honestly reminds me of that hotel in The Shining. Very out of date, and although they have apologised for the refurb thats going on, I don't understand their idea of a refurb. From what I can gather, looking at my room door, my room has had its "refurb" Im gobsmacked. I have holes in the wall where the plaster has fallen off. Pictures are getting sent to the coach company. Something has to be done about this. Its awful : (.

Stayed at this hotel from 11 – 15 August 2014 and it is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We were on a National Holiday coach and were in room 303B on the 3rd floor. The coach company need to visit this hotel to see just how bad it is and Britannia hotels needs to condemn the place. Once upon a, time about 100 years ago this would have been a “Grand” hotel but now apart from the bar area and quiet room the place is unfit for human habitation. The dining room was like a canteen and we expected Gracie Fields to come out singing “Sally” at any moment. The service was self-serve and the waiters and waitresses slammed the crockery down onto soaking wet tables when clearing up and setting for new people. No wonder there were so many plates with chips and cracks in them. The dining room staff seemed to be bothered more about themselves than the customers. The bar staff were very pleasant in all the bars. The standard of food was of a very poor quality, sausages at breakfast had a paste type filling and the bacon was not cooked properly. The baked beans consisted of more sauce than beans and the coffee was atrocious. Our bedroom was disgusting to say the least! Whilst it was just above the border line of cleanliness, the windows were sealed and even if it had been safe (? ) we couldn’t use the very rusty balcony outside the window. The window frames were metal and were very rusty. We couldn’t open a window to let any fresh air in.

Location excellent, Staff friendly, good food, brilliant value for Money. Booze inexpensive but Stan the Man and his Organ for the entertainment should retire. The other Entertainment was I have to say very good. The upgrade very worthwhile and good value.

Excellent weekend, sea view room was amazing with great views, staff were very friendly and the evening entertainment was great fun, would like to know who the band and entertainers were last night as they were fantastic. Breakfast and dinners were very good and really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be staying here again.
