Reviews of Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park, an IHG Hotel 4*
Attended Salsa Congress so a busy weekend. Friendly staff. Fantastic Spa and Therapists. Return every year.
Enjoyed a lovely stay with my son for a couple of days whilst visiting family in Newcastle between Christmas and New Year! Great experience from check-in to check-out. Friendly and warm welcome from reception and very clean room with all amenities working faultlessly! How many times have we experienced a dodgy tv, shower or ac unit in other hotels?! Not here. The pool was a welcome bonus and enjoyed on both mornings of our stay. Our included breakfast buffet was excellent and hot items were regularly replenished. If I were to nit-pick, the toaster only produced warm bread and needed to be used twice to actually produce toast! But this is a common occurrence in hotels! Overall, it was an excellent stay in a hotel located right on the A1 (M) only a few minutes drive from City Centre Newcastle. Ample free parking was another great bonus! Would definitely recommend!
We had our work Christmas party and it was fabulous. Band and disco were excellent, great food, friendly staff. The rooms were great I would highly recommend.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Stayed as couple for abit down time to relax…. Spa/pool area is full of screaming/slashing kids. 8-9.30 is adults only, went back then for 2 shameless people to be clearly having sex in the hot tub for the whole spa/pool area to see. Absolutely disgusting and unhygienic hence to say we left the spa area and didn’t return. Also vents in the spa look like growing their own penicillin due to the shear amount of mould. Sofa on our room had a large rip in…. Definitely not worth the money. Won’t be returning 🤮
Superb Hotel… Great room however the service is just immense. The receptionist Hayley took to my little lad instantly and when he told them he has Autism they gave him a V. I. K bracelet. Making him feel so important. When we went for a meal in the restaurant we were served by Brad… he and Henry became friends instantly and he helped entertain him whilst we ordered etc… this is absolutely above and beyond his job… so much so Henry wants to come back when we get home from holiday… Would recommend in a heartbeat!
Spent 2 Nights at the Holiday Inn, Gosforth Park for a Wedding, great venue, great rooms, all of the Staff members from the room attendants to the Barstaff were brilliant, no complaints whatsoever.
Since the start of this year we have been attending the pool here most weeks Doing swimming lessons with an amazing new swimming school, which are really hard to find. My little girl has loved swimming here and has come of great with her swimming skills. After we saw how the hotel had been updated Since the last time we used the hotel years back. We booked a birthday treat over Easter. I was miss sold a room which I paid extra for because I thought due to the online advertising for the room that the extra money would include a fully stocked mini bar. When we checked in that was not the case. The mini bar had water and a kitkat in. We queried this on reception and were told we had got it wrong, mini bars are chargeable. Basically we felt fobbed off. When we had got home my husband has some emails with the hotel and was also fobbed off. Since then we can see the advertisement online for the room has changed and the fully stocked mini bar picture has been removed. This would tell me that they can see where we were coming from but didn’t want to admit any fault to us. The attitude in dealing with this has left us feeling very disappointed. More recently actually today I have heard from my daughters swimming school where without any notice at all the hotel has cancelled the contract for them to hire/use the pool with immediate effect.
Booked the girls night in deal and it was a disaster from start to finish. We paid an extra £35 for a 3rd bed but the room was only made up for two people and the beds were 2 very small doubles so just a twin room. 2 glasses for the Prosecco, 2 towels etc so what was the extra for? We were paying separately but this seemed too complicated for reception so they asked to put a £200 reserve on one card. Instead they froze £200 from my account which I didn’t discover until my card declined in front of several people in the spa and I didn’t have my other cards or purse to hand. When we got to the spa my treatments were booked for the wrong time meaning they couldn’t be fitted in. I had to split them over the next day to get them both in. My friend and I weren’t offered separate rooms for full body massages so had to strip to the waist in each other’s company without being asked if this was ok. Bit awkward when you are nearly 40. We went for our afternoon tea only to discover that too had been messed up. At first they offered to make us one up fresh but then insisted on giving us one that someone else failed to arrive for which had all nuts and seafood removed due to allergies. It had clearly been standing a while. It was rubbish anyway and we went straight to our room and ate our own food because we were still hungry. When I went to reception to rectify the £200 situation, the girl was uninterested in out complaints and told me the £200 would take 3 days to come back.
We stay here just for a night. Well it was brilliant. The room was very very clean. The rooms where a good size. Beds where very comfortable. The facilities where fantastic. You got to use the pool and steam room and sauna. Plus more. The breakfast had plenty of choice. From fry up. To full continental with meats. More importantly the food was delicious. There was one thing. I think maybe a dishwasher error. Few of the plates in the stack where dirty. But I just pulled them out and there was plenty of clean ones underneath. I would highly recommend staying here. We had a great time.
Great hotel and facilities.
Staff were very attentive. The actual hotel is so modern and up to date. Literally outs out local Holiday Inn to shame. We will definitely be back again in the near future.
Lovely hotel and the friendliest staff I have ever encountered, I have really enjoyed staying here.
Great amenities — swimming pool, sauna, steam room and dining area. Large spacious rooms with everything you need.
Booked to bring grandchildren for half term break.
Amazing service from all staff from check in to check out.
Comfortable room with easy access to pool which kids loved.
Good menu available in cosy bar lobby and restaurant at reasonable prices.
Would definitely recommend and we will be sure to return.
Perfect example of a clean well maintained hotel. No problems with any of the facilities and staff were amazing. Highly recommended.
I would 100% recommend Holiday Inn for weddings Sarah, Jake and his team did absolutely fantastic for our wedding on the 22.07.21, food was lovely and everyone loved our evening buffet, the staff couldn't of done enough for us, everyone was scared with it being the 1st wedding without restrictions, but we had nothing to worry about, if I could do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing THANK YOU XX.
Lovely place, friendly staff, spotless, comfortable big rooms and surroundings. Excellent 😊👍
Fast check in and really clean rooms. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Food was very nice and room service is a must for a lazy breakfast. A nice place to stop off when heading back to Scotland from a trip down south, or vice versa.
Fabulous hotel. Very modern and clean. Great staff.
Myself Husband and Grandson regularly go here and we love it, every aspect from arriving to departing in absolutely spot on and sheer perfection-the staff are so friendly and nothing a problem and will help in any way possible the pool again brilliant the food is spot on and breakfast wonderful — even the Housekeeping staff do everything to a 5 star ⭐️ standard, the rooms and communal areas are always spotless, we ran out of something one else and ask the head of housekeeping and with in minutes this request was fulfilled felt
nothing was a problem, all housekeeping staff are so polite so there work brilliant and effortlessly and nothing a problem, so from Management to Kitchen Housekeeping all the staff keep up the superb work and can’t wait for our return — Well done team Gosforth.
Great location, efficient and friendly check-in, very well appointed rooms.
When I stayed at this hotel in December, nothing was too much. The extra procedures in place during covid made me feel really comfortable. It’s the only hotel in the area which was still serving hot food so it was top choice and the staff couldn’t be more attentive.
Also has a very good menu for a Holiday Inn, and reasonably priced.
Wonderful staff ensuring our meal experiences were memorable in this difficult climate of Covid19. Great bedrooms! immaculate!
Amazing ladies in the spa, friendly and helpful. Amazing treatments ❤️
Lovely staff, fantastic value for money and very child friendly.
Great for kids. Meals are lovely. Staff friendly.
Lovely friendly staff. Great facilities & plenty of parking.
Very helpful staff, beautiful hotel with excellent facilities, very comfortable beds, delicious food and tasty wines.
This is our favourite Holiday Inn, it is consistantly good. The staff are well trained and the refurbishment is excellent.
Been coming here for 15 years and will keep coming back.
Exceptionally clean, comfortable, modern hotel. Inviting and courteous staff, welcoming and warm atmosphere. Rooms are very spacious and well equipped. Bathroom exceptionally clean.
Excellent spa experience very friendly staff and treatments was lovely afternoon tea was amazing great day catching up with friends x.
Cold food, dodgy bar prices, table set up at gala dinner below standard, and lack of enough professional staff!
Hotel modern and clean, bar/restaurant staff friendly. Food was beautiful and worth every penny.
Had a amazing spa day with afternoon tea included would recommend this to anyone we did it as 50th surprise treat it was fabulous staff were so nice and welcoming x.
Great spa day… lovely afternoon tea, staff really friendly x.
Lovely place to stay, friendly and helpful staff.
food very nice indeed.
Beautiful hotel with a fab bar/restaurant! Very friendly staff also would highly recommend. Only a 15minute drive to Newcastle Airport.
I just got to say that the Holiday Inn was an awesome experience. We extended our booking two times. It is in a great location close to the city but in a quiet area. The staff were exceptional. The food was delicious and the room was attended too every day.
The service was terrific and they looked after my extended family when they came to visit. Good work team H. I.
Just spent a brilliant 2 nights for a wedding at holiday inn. Staff were fantastic — organisation for the wedding was superb. Rooms were lovely — would recommend it to anyone.
Large, quiet modern rooms and very nice bathrooms. Immaculately clean. Big comfortable beds. Fantastic buffet breakfast and newly renovated Bar area. Staff are always friendly and professional. Love it here.
Large modern rooms, free high speed Wi-Fi, friendly staff and decent bar prices.
Arrived late at the spa for my appointment, but they still accommodated me andI relaxed wholeheartedly whilst having my massage and facial, they looked after my daughter for me too whilst I had my treatments. Spa was lovely too. Lovely hot jacuzzi and warm pool. Went for lunch in the bar and was served by two lovely helpful ladies who went out of their way to alter my cheeseboard to my liking (invaluable to me)! And asked my daughter if she’d enjoyed her food, haven’t even got to our room yet but so pleased I’ve came today. Feeling 100% satisfied already. Thank you xx.
An uninspiring location but nicely refurbished rooms. Good if you are touring the area. There is a small health club with generous opening hours for families — kids can use the pool until 8pm. Staff are friendly but the service is hot and miss. A concern about our bathroom fan was not acted upon during our 4 day stay, we were given one price for breakfast but charged another. The breakfast is standard hotel fare. Evening meals are cheap for kids but uninspiring for adults. If you stay here you need a car so are better off exploring elsewhere for dinner. Plenty of free parking and handy for the motorway.
Thanks to Lynette, Sharon, Margaret and the wider team for looking after us so well whilst Dad was in Wansbeck Hospital. The refurbed rooms are lovely and always a warm welcome from all the Reception staff. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Very much appreciated and we will continue to stay at Holiday Inn despite the longer distance because we are guaranteed high quality stay. … Keep up the good work.
We attended my neices wedding at the holiday inn and she could not of picked a better place. Lovely venue. Rooms were very spacious. Staff friendly. Outside area was nice to sit and have a drink. Breakfast was good plenty to choose from.
Well priced, Holiday Inn quality just on the outskirts of Newcastle. Close to both the A1 and A19 main trunk roads, and less than five minutes walk from a bus stop that has regular services giving a 20-minute journey to central Newcastle. Rooms are high quality (built in USB chargers are a God send) and external noise is at a minimum. The lounge and restaurant are both very good and the gym/spa give a good way to wind down after a busy day (treatments are available for a small fee and the gym includes a 15m pool). Good for those wanting to relax either on business or for leisure.
Me and my friend went for a spa day, the staff were extremely friendly and catered to our every request without issue. I would recommend the spa to anyone.
We were there for our daughters wedding. Everything was spot on. The room where they were married was lovely. The room where the reception was help was absolutely beautiful. The bed rooms were excellent and everything was spotless. The staff were very helpful. All the food was great including the breakfast the morning after. Was well pleased with the whole thing. We were worried, especially my daughter and her now husband, about a some work that was going on around the reception area, but they helped us to work around it as best they could.
We were at the Holiday Inn near Cramlington, the Spa Day and Treatments were top-notch. The Afternoon Tea was not tho. The sandwiches we were served were not the ones requested, so we couldn't eat them — which was rather disappointing. Plus, I had to ask a staff member for the pot of tea! But that aside, we both enjoyed our visit.
Great hotel alway use. Rooms are clean and modern. Staff always friendly. And use of pool and spa facilities for all guest makes the stay extra special.
Perfectly reasonable. Went for a professional event, not as an overnight guest. Lunch drinks and snacks provided were good (nothing asking but a nice change from stale sandwiches). Hotel rooms and toilets were clean and in good order. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room we were in was pretty cold in the morning but they came in with a selection of heaters to warm the place up. In a good place for professional events — easy to find and get to.
A relatively recently decorated Holiday Inn, with basic amenities. There is a small pool, gym and hot tub. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is world class, from the front desk, breakfast staff, room service and cleaners.
We stayed here on a visit to Northumberland. The staff were the friendliest people we've met. Our room was a bit dated but spotless. It rained heavily and water leaked through the window. We were immediately upgraded, nothing was too much trouble. Good bar food, breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
A great place to stay for our visit to Northumberland. A comfortable, clean hotel with really nice staff. Would definitely stay there again when we're up that wdy again.
Very quiet locations. Good for kids. Swimming pool excellent. Food is amazing.
Good clean venue, looks well maintained and with quality fittings and features. They provided tea and coffee for our meeting of 40 people, some extra food would have been nice but I don't know what was paid for. Would happily use again.
Nice enough hotel. Service is good. One annoying thing is that you can't have a night out here as they close the bar about 1 AM. Other than that the staff is lovely, they try to provide you everything you ask for. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished. I'd suggest calling up rather than booking online as sometimes you get a better deal that way. The location is absolutely crap, it takes 15 minutes in a taxi to get here. Very far from the actual Newcastle city centre. There are not many shops of places near the hotel so you feel a bit stranded.
Really clean hotel. Staff really helpful & friendly. Spa facilities are great and the treatments I received were fantastic.
Nice enough for a spa day, good location. The massage and facial were well done, the spa could do with a lick of paint and the fact you can't have a glass (even plastic) of prosecco by the pool — you have to have it in coffee cups felt like we were being ripped off. The lunch was average, but the afternoon tea looked amazing. I wouldn't rush back but wouldn't be upset if someone treat me to another spa day there!
Beautiful well looked after hotel. Lovely people and a very tasty breakfast. Thank you all.
Clean and tidy. Nice staff. The food was excellent. Thanks.
Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Room is larger than expected. Kids eat free in the restaurant and the food is great. We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool as well as the hot tub!
Stayed at this hotel last weekend as part of a very large event that was held there. Hotel was nice and clean, rooms were clean and spacious. Pool facilities were great.
Downsides were: expensive prices (food and drink) — but standard for a hotel I guess. My main downside was the staffing levels, as mentioned I was here as part of a very large event; however there was ONE bar staff on ONE bar open. Surely they'd have made far more money from having additional bar staff. Can't fault the staff, just the staffing levels. One person cannot refill things and serve a huge queue at the same time. Would have rated much higher if staffing levels were better in the evenings.
Great Christmas party night at the Holiday Inn, the food, service and performance was absolutely perfect. But unfortunately the rooms were a major let down. We've stayed at this Holiday Inn 3 times now in the last 12 months and this time was shocking. We had 8 rooms booked in total and everyone was freezing cold, to the extent that the staff had to provide electric heaters so clearly this has been an issue for a while, also for what was supposedly "double" rooms the beds were tiny, certainly not big enough for two people to sleep in comfort. When we've used this hotel before we've had huge luxurious beds that you could really spread out in, and the rooms were really outstanding, but this time we feel as if we were booked into something from the 70's, and not in a good way. We'll certainly be reconsidering as to whether we will be booking next year's Christmas party there.
Stayed at hotel in July for 1 night. Room and Breakfast were good. Good size swimming pool. Large carpark next to hotel. Hotel is nearby Newcastle airport and city center.
Had our family girly christmas night at the Aaron bayley nand night as it was recommended by staff and it was fantastic! We had a great night from begginig to end. The room was dressed so nice and Christmassy, tables set beautiful, a warm welcome, band were fantastic, food absolutely lush with great service, excellent disco all staff were very friendly. Best night we've had ever for a Christmas night out. We r looking forward to returning for more evenings or events at this venue.
Excellent hotel with good facilities including gym and pool. Nice restaurant and bar area. Good location for Newcastle airport.
I've stayed here a couple of times now and I'm always happy to come back. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the staff are friendly and there's very little noise despite being so easily accessible from the A1. I haven't used the gym but it is included in the room price as standard, as is breakfast (which I have used, copiously). There's not a lot in the immediate vicinity but central Newcastle is a fifteen minute drive away. If you're visiting something nearby I'd heartily recommend this hotel and it's one of my first choices when working in the area.
Lovely place staff very friendly. Meals are georgous. Would definitely stay here again.
Nice clean room, expensive restaurant. Hugely let down by its staff. Couldn't provide a receipt upon checkout and was promised an email with receipt attached. This never happened, and took phonecalls and emails to finally get one. They also took more money a week later from my CC without my consent for a meal they forgot to charge on checkout. Rude and incompetent practice.
First time I have visited this Holiday Inn and both my wife and I were very impressed. The staff were more than helpful and nothing was too much trouble and to add to there day there was a wedding taking place and talking to the Bride just before leaving she was telling us that from their first visit to arrange same NOTHING was too much trouble. 5 stars all round in my book!
Lovely hotel. This was a short relaxing break. Food was excellent in the restaurant at night. Did not have breakfast, but found. It to be very good on previous occasions. Hope to visit again soon.
Stay here every time I come to visit relatives never had a bad experience. Staff super friendly and very helpful rooms comfortable and clean food good too.
Looks nothing special from the outside, but a nice surprise inside. Modern clean, very good decor. The rooms where very good. And best night sleep in a while. The bar wad good, breakfast was very tasty and staff very nice.
Despite the building not being the most appealing visually as we drove in, our trepidation was short lived. The staff were extremely welcoming and offered us good advise on local places to eat. As a Spire member I see the inside of a lot of IHG hotels and this was one o the cleanest I can recall. The restaurant was full at breakfast but didn't feel busy or rushed as the waiting staff cleared everything efficiently and the kitchen staff kept all the food options topped up. Complimentary drinks were the cherry on top. Thanks to all and I would recommend to anyone visiting Newcastle or moving on to Alnwick as we were.
The room was incredibly clean and spacious, and the staff were very courteous and friendly. The pool and spa were very enjoyable as well. The only drawback was we were kept waiting for an unusually long time for our starters and meal. The restaurant wasn't busy so I didn't understand the delay.
Second stay here with the family and it's got even better. Wonderful reception staff, Faye. Efficient check in and an upgrade. Nice pool for the kids to splash about in, while Mrs. Browell enjoyed a bargain massage on special offer.
We ate in the restaurant; again great service and tasty food. The only minor negative is that the main course portion of salmon was smaller than expected. But it all tasted delicious.
We stayed last night for a birthday treat for my daughter. We was very impressed with the room we had. Unfortunately we was let down on the food side as we ordered our meal at 8pm and was still waiting for our meal by 10pm we had to tell staff that we wanted it in our room as we was putting our young children to bed as they was tired as it had been a busy And emotional day for them. We was comp a bottle of wine by the bar staff at first then it was desided by duty manager this morning to refund our complete meal. And put the comp bottle back on our bill. How ever we was happy with that and would stay with them again. But serious improvements need to be made on there food side.
Lovely Hotel well placed for exploring Northumberland. Rooms very comfortable, staff extremely helpful only let down by the buffet meals in the evening. All in all still a very nice stay.
Very good food and facilities and staff very nice. But a bit far away from everything.
Nice hotel. Staff friendly & helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Nice stay & would definitely stay again if in the area.
Massive queue at booking in. Told breakfast isn't free its extra 10 quid each and if we don't pay up proto it's 13 quid each later on! Bedframe was queen size but with double mattes so it was hanging off the sides like a soggy waffle. Building work going on upstairs? Parking spaced around building instead of being at front so you have to carry heavy bags around building. Front desk staff was like a robot speaking to you without emotion. Good points we're: Nice gym. Genuine restful sleep so despite the issues I have to give it a 3 stars. Won't be back though.
From the first impression, the holiday Inn is a lovely place to stay, staff helpful and pleasant. Clean facility and loved the fact had leisure facilities to use.
The facilities are pretty good for a hotel of this size, including the gym and pool area. However didn't get much sleep due to my 'every 30 minute' wake up call from the air cond. Unit. Reported it but just knew nothing was going to be done. Also, this is the first time I have ever had to queue for breakfast, incredible!
Attended this hotel on business. Good location, nice interior and pleasant staff.
Exterior aesthetic and location: alright — location doesn't help it, but still good. Interior: best thing about it — really good. Rooms: I haven't exactly been in the suites but the rooms are pretty good — Temple of the Porcelain Shrine, however, absolutely glorious. Service: didn't stay long enough to experience anything ground-breaking, otherwise, pretty good.
Great Hotel but the rooms weren't the best.
Hotel rooms, evening food, bar and breakfast are vey nice. Loads or car parking. Didn't use any of the spa or pool area.
I'm a member of the gym at this hotel, as I need to keep exercising regularly in a pool due to a painful inflammatory arthritis condition I have. I must say that I only go because I really, really have to — the showers leak constantly (turning the mats underneath a sickly yellow), the shower floor is extremely slippy (I think they've used the wrong type of tile), half the lockers in the mens changing room are broken or missing keys, the poolside shower has been broken for the past 3 weeks, the pool itself has been closed for the past week due to chlorine levels, the steam room is currently out of order, there is often debris on the bottom of the pool which sits there for days. It's just depressing. The front desk staff are all extremely pleasant and well meaning, but whichever manager is in charge of the pool area clearly doesn't care.
It was nice, but needs updating, staff were excellent.
I'm a member of the leisure club at, this Holiday Inn, and believe me it's rubbish! Last weekend (Valentine weekend), a couple were just about having sex in the pool. Children in the pool were shielded from the ignorant couple by their parents. I'm broad minded, but this went too far, instigated by the girl. I complained to reception, and their response was 'It's an unmanned pool, and we don't have time. ' Apparently, the new owners of nearly two years cut staff to the bone, and they don't have time to check out the pool. The changing rooms are disgusting; doors are hanging off lockers, no hanging pegs in some lockers, door locks not working some times. The bar has one person serving. You're always in a queue. (not the barman's doing) The place is a joke. Avoid it like the plague.
Just telephoned this hotel to make a reservation for at least 5 weeks maybe longer for business and asked what kind of discount can you give me for booking 5 weeks, nothing, zilch, not one red cent. Disgusting when I said I can get much cheaper elsewhere he said "like where". Single occupancy room for £83 a night for 5 — 7 weeks. Jog on Holiday Inn.
Must write about the New Years Eve dinner dance — absolutely 1st class — a great well done to all staff for making this a superb event and a great start to the New Year.
This review really needs to be split in half, a 5 star for the room and housekeeping team, bar staff and most of the reception and back office team who are extremely helpful, pleasant and friendly. However the restaurant, evening service, barely deserves a 1 star! We have stayed here many, many times over the course of several years and have built up wonderful relationships with many of the staff, past and present. This summer alone I have stayed at the hotel for 7 nights over 3 weekends and although the hotel is currently going through a major room refurbishment they are doing their best to ensure as little disruption as possible. Every few years we make the mistake of trying to enjoy a meal in the restaurant, assuming it will have improved, sadly this is never the case. On Sunday evening we booked a table — only 2 other tables were in use yet it still took an hour for our meals to materialise — they were absolutely awful, a chicken breast so overcooked you could not get a fork into it; a supposedly "hand battered" cod that was so overcooked the batter flew off in huge chinks — and resembled a shop bought frozen battered fish fillet — Trade Descriptions apply surely? The place was grossly understaffed front of house — so I think it was probably a kitchen porter doing the cooking. It was an expensive disgrace, with mains costing around £17 each. This was fully recognised by the service staff who deducted the food price without question — but that isn't really the point.
Great staff! Stay here every time we are in Newcastle.
My names Pete Roberts not Daiel Jupp, not sure why it wants to call me Don't stay here. Woken up constantly by drunken returnees from night out a 3am, 4am. 5 am. Should have known as receptionist on check said I will put you at end of corridor as we have quite a few parties booked into stay here. YES one was in three rooms next door and two opposite Just flew in from an over seas business trip desperately wanted sleep got very little. Was told I should have complained, bit late when I was already awake. Especially as the phone in room did not work, so I decided not to go down to reception, tried to go back to sleep. Gave up got up went to breakfast Breakfast rubbish £13 for dried out fried eggs (when asked for fresh they came out almost as solid, so had been under similar heat lamp in kitchen), black pudding bricks, everything solid. Staff apart from receptionist who checked me in and out, were surly and obviously had got used to dealing with stag parties etc and treated people like they were all hung over plebs. Bar staff night before, ' were closing before parties get back, so if you want a drink it will have to be a bottle. On arriving for breakfast was not greeted, but asked 'what room number', the 'you are over there' dismissed. Made to feel like I was imposing when I asked for fresh eggs. Paid £13 and then over heard people who went to reception, got a voucher and came back for same for £10. Supposedly only available offer on check in.
An awful experience. The staff were uninterested and not helpful in dealing with the many issues we came across during our stay. The hotel claimed to have a jazzuzi and did not and the pool was not as big as it sounded in the description. The food was awful. On the first night most people were not too impressed. But we all hoped it would be better. Most of the food was luke-warm and unpleasantly presented. However it got worse. Over the other three nights, left overs from the night before were included in each meal and many of our coach party made jokes about betting what was going to be for dinner. They were almost always right. There was a chili-con carne one night. The next night the same ingredients appeared in the lasagne complete with the chilies. Brussel sprout leftovers also made their way into the lasagne. Nice. The meals were also often out late. Most nights at least one person on each of the 6 tables had to chose a different meal as they did not have enough. As I am a child and was only 12 at the time, we asked if I could have jacket potato and beans for the second, third and fourth nights. The potato was never very tastey and the beans came out cold twice out of the three times I had them. Lovely. Altogether an awful experience.

Stayed here for the Sam fender gig. The staff were absolutely amazing. Polite and efficient and so helpful. The rooms were spacious and spotless. Plenty to do on site! I would highly recommend staying here!
