Brilliant location, fantastic clean rooms and friendly staff. Will definitely be staying here again soon.

Just come back from a 2 night stay and couldn't recommend it highly enough. We stayed in the garden suite and it was truly breath taking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We even had some banter about football, as I'm a Sheffield United fan and the staff were Leeds fans, lol. The coffee shop is also fabulous too. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and for your warm hospitality.

Had lunch in the coffee house and I have to say their tuna mayo and cucumber sandwich was the best I've ever had. If I lived in Lincoln it would definitely be a regular lunch spot for me. Although I did think the canned drinks were a little on the over priced side. But overall a definite 5 stars.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights on our first visit to Lincoln and it was fabulous! Great location and a fantastic room up on the terrace. It had everything we needed and we especially enjoyed the private seating just for the 6 rooms upstairs. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was yummy in the cozy cafe each morning. I’d definitely recommend The Rest to anyone wanting to stay in Lincoln.

Stayed in an absolutely gorgeous room with a lovely bed and bathroom. Felt like I was at a better version of home! The staff were really amazing as well and completely accommodated to my needs. Breakfast was lovely.

The staff are lovely, however the sausages in the sausage panini were grey and stringy. Perhaps a kitchen top meat griller would solve this. Microwaving isn't good enough.

We stayed here at the Rest as we Enjoyed Lincoln Christmas Market Lovely situated on steep Hill views stunning Room Everything and more Soo cosy, Spa feel with a very delicious Breakfast Sadly the. Nice rooms, nice cafe for breakfast. Not quite a hotel as no staff after 8. More apartments to rent over a coffee shop, albeit nice ones.

Great hot chocolates! Lovely place to visit on the way up to the cathedral. Lovely setting and atmosphere.

One of Lincoln towns hidden gems. Easy to find luxury mini hotel. Fantastic friendly welcome and service throughout stay. Beautifully decided, we stayed in the Sunflower twin room which was a great example of boutique room. Super comfy beds & great facilities. Breakfast was fresh & delicious! Will highly recommend to all I know. Thank you for a great stay.

We stayed at the rest hotel for a concert held at the castle. Fantastic location. The lady on the reception was lovely, naturally friendly and was the same lady that I had spoken to to book my room. The room was fantastic, lovely and clean, spotless and very plush furniture and nice confy bed and bedding. Lovely and warm room and felt very safe. The breakfast was lovely, cooked fresh to order and was cooked to perfection. Very hot and again the reception lady was there early to ask if we had had a good nights rest. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here again. Thank you all for a lovely night away. 5 star service.

The Rest is our absolute favourite coffee shop in Lincoln. It's a wonderful building. The food is excellent and the service even better. The staff are all great but Laura deserves a special mention as she is always so friendly and cheerful. The location is very special, such a fabulous part of historic Lincoln. We only live a few miles away but we've even stopped in the hotel so we could enjoy the location in the evening. The rooms are excellent. Parking isn't obvious but if you ask the staff in advance they tell you where you can park and issue you with a pass (if you're in the hotel) and it's all actually very easy. Can't recommend it enough.

Quick coffee stop on the steep walk to the cathedral. Reasonably priced… good views and pleasent people. Would re visit. Dog friendly too… outside area.

We booked a one night stay in this wonderful place. The room was superb & so was the staff. The breakfast in the morning was delicious & freshly cooked. We can't wait to go back.

The situation is great, right in the middle of the steep hill. Coffee was good, the scone a bit dry dough. Really nice place overall.

Nice location, good drinks — closes a little early on Sunday, though. It has newspapers, which is a nice extra to set it apart from other coffee shops.

Stopped by for a coffee after a day of sight seeing. Really loved the decor and atmosphere, felt really relaxed and modern. Coffee was tasty and my children loved their chocolate babychinos. Would definitely recommend!

The rest was a lovely place to stop and wait as you relaxed and recouperate (if only their was a better word). The food was very good and it was very comfortable. Nothing too complex but a great place for a bite to eat.

Stopped for a coffee at The Rest, a pleasant stop half way up Steep Hill. Disappointingly only opens at 11am, so had to wait a few minutes before I could get in. Once inside, it's a nice environment to sit down, read the newspaper and have a coffee in a beautiful old building on one of the best streets in the country. Coffee is fine — if not outstanding — but the friendly staff and nice environment make up for it.

My girlfriend treated me to a couple of nights at The Rest and it has been a great experience. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect. It is a short walk away from both Lincoln Cathedral & Lincoln castle, as well as being very close to the town centre. Although it is very central, the rest seems to be away from common noises such as vehicles, and is very quiet. The rooms are as good as new, and are cleaned everyday to top standard. Breakfast is also included and it is wonderful. It has a nice choice of continental breakfasts and they are all cooked fantastically. I would recommend The Rest to anyone spending a night or weekend in Lincoln as the location, service and overall experience has been wonderful.

The Rest is in the perfect location to explore Lincoln, at the peak point of Steep Hill (which is a nice mini cardio workout when you're carrying a few bags), and a minute or two further up the hill you have the Cathedral and Castle. Our room at The Rest is quite possibly the most beautiful of rooms I have stayed in, tasteful grey and silver styling, everything was absolutely spotless and kind of felt like a show room but still managed to feel homely at the same time, under floor heating was also pleasant. Breakfast in the coffee shop was also very nice and cooked fresh to order. All the staff we met on our stay were extremely polite and friendly and helpful if needed. When visiting Lincoln this will be my first choice place to stay.

This hotel is just amazing. With only 10 rooms, of which my party had 7, all individually designed and furnished, the staff make your stay an incredibly personal experience. Nothing is too much trouble, from housekeeping to Reception to the Cafe all the staff are friendly, polite and helpful. I will definately be returning as will several other members of my party. Many, many thanks for helping make my weekend so enjoyable and memorable.

We stayed here for three days in May and were both really impressed, both with the room and the service. Its position couldn't be better: the castle and cathedral are only a short — albeit steep — walk away and there are plenty of places to eat in the vicinity. Highly recommended.
