Clean good breakfast but disappointing if you stay in the annexe. Bedsit came to mind. Shabby and needs decorating.

Perfectly good enough for a B&B. Does need a little updating and food wasn't great but filled a hole and reasonable choice. Price was good (£69 double room)

Room decor a little odd but rooms are spacious and comfortable. Five minutes walk to town centre. Would stay here again. Very good breakfast.

Lovely building, rooms good quality and very clean. Good breakfasts, welcoming staff and well stocked bar.

Party of 10 stayed here weekend of 13th/14th January for local wedding — me being the bride. The previous reviews on here regarding dated decor are true, however, as a nervous bride, I slept like a baby, as bed was so comfortable with crisp clean linen. The other guests staying also said exactly the same (great night's sleep had by all). Being the nervous bride, I had a light breakfast but my other guests had the full English which, by all accounts, was delicious! The bar was closed, but the staff on reception (just next door) made it perfectly clear to us that all we had to do was ask — which we did, quite a few times and were met with friendly, smiling faces that nothing was too much trouble. On the Sunday morning whilst waiting for my wedding car, the Manager calmed my nerves with a complimentary drink which was lovely! Although dated, the hotel is immaculately clean and staff are so helpful. I stayed in another hotel on the night of my wedding, but my guests stayed and all had another perfect night's sleep and lovely full English breakfast. I would definitely recommend and I would come again if staying in Tunbridge Wells in the future.

I've been staying at the Russell Hotel weekly while working remotely in Tunbridge Wells. It has been a good base for the days I've been away, especially with the rooms in the Annex providing a fridge, microwave, and separate seating so you don't have to sit on the bed all the time. The decor could do with a refresh, but it is as good value hotel.

Pleasant staff, good location, clean. Just needs an update.

Ideal place to stay if you're needed in t. Wells or having a day in London. Large, clean rooms with excellent Wi-Fi and a quiet hotel for a good night stay. Plus, free breakfast :-) Please note; pics are from when I checked out. Your bed is made every day and everything is tidied every day! :-)

Hotel straight from the 70's. Great slice of nostalgia decor designed by George and Mildred. Dated and past it's sell by date. Perfect for builders digs. A bed and a shower at rock bottom price. Breakfast was good though. Bar and lounge always closed.

Bit better than my last visit a year ago. Wi-Fi has now been upgraded to a higher standard, rooms are reasonably comfortable. The hotel could do with a makeover in places, hopefully the full English breakfast will be up to its expected standard (this is my first night here). But above all it's within budget and conveniently located within the town and the Spa Valley Railway.

Clean but very dated. Poor breakfast service and long wait with overdone bacon when it arrived. May be not as expensive as some but for nearly 100 pounds I would have expected better!

Nice room in a good location for my needs, breakfast is included but no dinner options. This isn't really a concern as the hotel is a very short walk from many places to grab dinner.

Very old hotel. Beds are clean but not the rest of the furniture. Dusty. Staff is friendly. At a sudden moment we couldn't park the car anymore at the parking lot. It was complete by company vans. Strange…

While the decor could stand a refresh, I've found the Russell Hotel to be an excellent base for working away from home. The rooms in the Annex are basically a mini suite, with sofa and kitchenette. The breakfast is included in the rate, and is very good. I'll be trying to stay here again should the need arise!

We (4 of us) stayed at the Russell Hotel on the 18th and 19th March and even though I had made a major error in the dates I thought I had booked they accommodated our changed date and also let us book an extra night with no fuss and very reasonable charge. We were very grateful for the helpful way they sorted out the problem. The hotel is indeed a little tired and I should remember next time to check which floor we are staying on as the 4th floor seemed a very long way. However I couldn't fault them for service and helpfulness, also excellent breakfast was much appreciated.

Located about 5-10 minutes walk from the town centre, a little old fashioned but did the job as a place to stay for a single night.

They could have a little bit closer look about the details, but overall impression was very good. Rooms are comfy, kettle and tea available in every room (I really like it), Wi-Fi was breaking down at one evening… Maybe it should be 4 stars, but because I had a room in the attic (kinda) with a view on the park, I'm giving fair 5 stars.
