Fabulous location, lovely breakfast, lovely rooms, great parking.

Lovely authentic Hotel with a friendly personal touch.
After getting Married here in the lovely Maquee August 2019 and having our family and friends stay over night too. We had the best time and Mark and Sian could not do enough to make the whole experience perfect.
We have just had an overnight stay here with dinner and breakfast for Valentine’s and yet again had a peaceful, welcoming stay.
Dinner was tasty, good value and very well presented. As was breakfast too.
If your looking for a beautiful, friendly hotel with an outstanding friendly service we would highly recommend.

We love it here! Stayed two different legs of our trip, and were treated fabulously. The accommodations are very quaint and very English, which is just what we wanted. The staff was quick to offer assistance in a friendly manner. They also have an amazing English breakfast, and a fruit, yogurt, and juice bar.

We had a great 2 night stay at boxmore for a freinds wedding lovely hotel with nice food clean comfy rooms and the staff was brilliant.

It was our 4th staff Christmas party in the marquee last night and it was another absolutely fantastic night! the staff were brilliant, the marquee looked amazing and all who came had a fantastic time. I cannot recommend them highly enough for a function.

Unlike some reviews my bathroom was great and recently renovated. The mattress however was showing its age/springs. Staff can be great, but also not so great… Bit of a lottery; there's potential.

We had a lovely over night stay here. Very nice spacious and comfortable rooms. Super bathrooms. Friendly staff, excellent food, super drinks. A very pleasant experience.

My boyfriend and I are staying here right now, and I just walked into the reception to kindly request to sit at a table in their empty restaurant to work on some emails (internet does not work in the room). The owner and his wife blatantly refused to let me sit on one of their tables (I certainly would have ordered something as you do). This is just rude and not in line with the hospitality standards any business in this sector should be familiar with.

Mark and the Boxmoor Lodge gang hosted our wedding and evening reception 7/7/18, couldn't fault all they did for us from booking to tastings to the event itself, all the staff great friendly and the kitchen staff put on a fantastic spread. Every guest commented on how great the wedding breakfast food and the buffet was, and they couldn't do enough for us, if you are looking for a wedding venue you won't get better than this. Can't thank them enough for making our day one of the best days ever. Mark and all his staff well done and thank you.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you for everything Mark and his team did on our wedding day last Saturday. Everything went so smoothly and couldn’t have asked for a better day!

We did not stay so cannot comment on rooms. We used the restaurant for our evening meal. Food; I have a food allergy and the staff we extremely helpful. Tiger prawns great. Lamb roularde too much of the fatty muscle used in keeping it round, but otherwise tasty. Rare steak filet a bit dry; no expected meat juices. Fish and chips good. Turriene chicken and ham much liked. It was a bit noisy as our meal coincided with a children's 14th birthday party, which did not appear to be supervised except by staff. When the bill came they had already added an automatic 10% gratuity, not compulsory but we had to ask for it to be removed. I prefer to tip on my own terms!

It was my parents diamond anniversary and we celebrated here with about 70 guests. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. I would Ddefinitely recommend it.

Booked in for a couple of nights, typical hotel room but nice and clean. Had dinner in the restaurant which was very good.

This is our third stay here in two months. Very good value for money comfy rooms great breakfast great position.

A very nice, quaint, old style inn. Good food, served promptly and fresh. Able to cater to special diets (lactose free etc). Good for families or single guests. Not too noisy but allows parties and good for kids. Friendly environment, plenty of room to eat.

Fantastic Sunday lunch for my Mum's 90th birthday celebrations — wonderful service from the kind and attentive staff — very impressed with the Vegan menu created for one of our guests.

Sadly I honestly wouldn't visit his hotel again. It was unfortunate that we ended up here on the same night as a rather large office party however my main complaints weren't with the party or the noise. Our room had signs of damp and for a family room was very small, the sofa bed when folded out stuck out in front of the door so you couldn't really get in and out of the room without moving the bed. The main double bed was small and wobbly. The bed covers on the sofa bed were stained. All in all not a very pleasent stay. Though we resolved thing very quickly with management afterwards and we're given a refund I still wouldn't stay here again, the hotel isn't what it once was.

Fantastic place! We were there almost a year ago, and have thought about this place since. Such a cute B&B with great atmosphere and a lovely staff. They even made us breakfast at 5 in the morning because we had to leave before breakfast to catch our flight home. An absolute joy to stay here, would so recomend! :)

Organised fifty of us to attend a Christmas Dinner Disco Party night. The marquee venue was beautifully decked out. Rather than being too cold, the heaters were set far too high and it took several complaints before they were corrected. The food was excellent quality and the staff did very well to attend our tables. As the organiser of our group I had only positive feedback. Highly recommended.

Yes very good, just use it as a meeting place for my car club. Every month.

Late check in for us but a friendly welcome from Mark followed by a drink in the cosy bar.
Room was clean, nice crisp white bed linen. A good nights sleep and a good full English the next morning.
Plenty of choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurts and offers of more tea and toast if required.
Stayed for 2 nights whilst attending a friends wedding in Berkhamstead.
Late return on the Saturday night to find no cartons of milk on our hospitality tray. Disaster averted with a quick phone call and a lovely member of staff arriving quickly with a handful of cartons and a smile.
The staff here are lovely, a credit to Mark.

Food great, marquee great, room wedding took place was a lovely setting for a smaller wedding ceremony. A lot of guests had to stand.

Great venue for weddings and social events. £10 min spend to pay on card but can start a tab easily enough. Staff are friendly and easy to get to the train station and local taxis.

Held the wake for my grandfather here last year aswell as other family gatherings in the past and have always found it very ameniable.

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at Boxmoor Lodge on 1st July 2017. From the very first viewing of the venue, right through to the wedding day itself, Mark and every member of the team were helpful, kind, professional and thorough. It also has to be said, their patience seems to know no bounds when I would call with silly questions – They did a fantastic job right from the start in helping the bride-to-be remain calm and at ease. On the day they all worked effortl…essly to ensure the day was perfect, they had everything under control for us. They were all so friendly and efficient, their approach and support enabled us to enjoy our day without any worries and they ensured everything was just as we’d hoped. In fact there is not one thing that went wrong, or that could have been better. The venue itself is beautiful and ticked every box for us. The conservatory — where we had our ceremony, is cosy, charming and has a lovely airy feel to it. The Marquee is just stunning, with its ceiling that looks like twinkling stars, private bar, dance floor and fantastic outside space – that is also secure and enclosed. Combine all of this with the fact it is a hotel so we and guests could stay over, meant we had the best of everything in one place – easy, stress free, and beautiful setting. We feel lucky to have been able to book this venue for our day. The food we had served for the wedding and the following morning at breakfast was delicious.

Visited to enquire about Christmas parties. The staff was informative and friendly. A wedding reception was taking place in the main venue so I did not get to see it.

Attending an event in the conservatory, temperature was scorching inside, food was passable at best, but the staff were friendly and helpful.

Attended a private function. No gluten free option offered so I got nothing to eat but that could have been down to the clients order not the Lodge. Otherwise very nice. Marquee was spacious, tables a good size and nicely laid out. Wouldn't fault them because of clients lack of foresight.

A clean, well-run family hotel. Food excellent, especially breakfast, though a slightly limited evening menu. Nevertheless the dinners we ate were tasty, well prepared and piping hot. The hotel is less than 15 minutes from harry potter experience, which was our reason for being in the area.
