Amazing place only on the way up. Fantastic staff.

Good food, good service, friendly staff — what more could any one want? Thank you for hosting our granddaughter’s Wedding, nothing but good reports from the guests.

Had a lovely stay here over the weekend. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Slept like a log, and had a wonderful breakfast. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Popped in today and so disappointed to find that the wonderful Grosvenor Hotel had changed as we knew it. It was lovely to see it has had a much needed refurbishment but absolutely heartbroken that our frequently Saturday visits will now come to an end. This place use to be fantastic for their food which was served all day, extremely reasonably priced and everyday good hearty meals. Now we have over priced fancy food not served all day apart from bar snacks which is fine if you like or can eat half of it. Very minimal choice and seriously £10.50 for a sandwich! £5.00 for a pint of Guinness — that is dearer than we paid in London only two weeks beforehand and as for the service — I certainly wouldn’t have said that it was particularly welcoming and friendly which was such a shame.

Wonderful Sunday lunch yesterday, food was excellent and staff attentive. You have done a great job so far in restoring this wonderful hotel back to its former glory. Can’t wait to watch its transformation over the next couple of years. Loved it.

The hotel was large and clean. There is a lovely garden with nice areas of secluded seating, so you don’t feel like you’re ‘in the middle’ of everyone. The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is very old and could do with some updating. There is limited paring to the rear for guests so that’s a bonus. The restaurant is very nice. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. The staff were warm and friendly and extremely polite. I recommend this hotel.

One of Green King’s Olde English Inn chain, if you choose the right date a bargain can be had. We did. Loved it. Family room perfect for us 3 plus dog (yes they’re DF). Maybe needs a refurb. Maybe needs a better beer selection v the full Green King range. Maybe the kitchen can could be quieter for rooms above (and the kitchen garden tidied). But in the whole a great stay in a great location, Stockbridge is a beautiful English village along several strands of the River Test (Clear with visible large fish).

Hotel in a cute town. A good hotel, My room had a view on a very well-maintained lawn Breakfast is yummy and the staff are very polite and kind.

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was great for us & the dog who also enjoyed it. The staff are wonderful especially Matt/Nat who seemed to be everywhere. Congratulations to you all.

Nice place but rather pedestrian approach to food and beers. Staff tried to explain why only three ales were available, as"real ale only keeps for a few days". Unfortunately the only drinkable one was Tribute, out of three. I talked to a couple of people about their "house speciality" pies, which were disappointingly swamped in gravy and surrounded with overcooked veg. Unless you need accommodation in Stockbridge, avoid.

Delicious and affordable menu for a typical pub style dinner. Unexpected as in such a beautiful environment. A Very pleasant evening.

We booked this place for my mother on law to stay overnight. A simple b&b, nothing fancy but the cheapest rate locally. She said that her breakfast was nice.

This is an interesting looking building well placed in the centre of Stockbridge. The writeup shows it has been there for over 200 years, well inside it smells and looks as if it has and it sorely needs pulling up into this century. I come to fish on the Test and have had many breakfasts in the Hotel, but this year the place seems to be on a death wish to kill itself off. There was no-one at reception and that was for a good 20 mins on last Sunday morning around 0915. The breakfast room was served by one person who was rushed off his feet. Others came behind us and left to go to the Greyhound nearby. When we had out table given it was greasy and not fit for purpose. A man at the Houghton Club table said he had never seen anything like it. So I have noticed that others have commented on cleanliness. About time those who run the place listened. The staff I have spoken to in the past have been polite and good to engage with; they need support from hotel management and urgently. Me I am going to the Greyhound.

Lovely atmosphere and staff. Food is great and good value for money.

We love this place! Great prices, extremely dog friendly and some lovely Grub.

Hotel is fairly nice. Decor a little dated but quite well kept. Meals were okay. They were under staffed when we were there so lots of mistakes and long waits. Breakfast was fair. I want disappointed but wasn't thrilled either. I would go again.

A good value pub offering a good selection of food and a limited range of ales. Good friendly staff, who were keen to help. An enjoyable atmospere and a nice lunch was had with a decent bit of space around the table unlike some of the other resturants in Stockbridge.

Really good service, lovely food and obviously very good hard working staff, literally only went after seeing a Facebook offer and will definitely be returning.

Really basic, bed was very comfy, functional, but not somewhere you would want to stay for holiday or a weekend away.

Slow service, food was awful missing items meat not edible, complained to staff who did nothing.

The food is fairly nice and reasonably priced. The service was pretty slow although not busy at all — fortunately we were not in a hurry. The place is pretty shabby in the restaurant and I wouldn't want to go back until that aspect was sorted out.

Poor management leading to understaffing, lovely staff but between 1 chef and 1 waitress 10 orders are too much to handle. Ended up waiting an hour for both the starters and then the main! I would not recommend going if you want to eat anytime soon.

Lovely place, very generous portions, friendly staff, great kids menu. Very pleased with food and service.

We stopped at the hotel for two days Christmas Eve and Christmas Day the room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable and very big. The staff are welcoming and very helpful the food was very nice and good quality and the room was warm will definitely return again.

Booked and eat Sun lunch in the restaurant. Did not have food advertised available. Friendly waitress service. It was not over busy but we waited 45mins to be served. Disappointed!

Had an amazing 21st birthday lunch here on Boxing Day, 2017 for my daughter. The food was so yummy and with Rebecca's help (the manager) the table looked pretty special as she decorated it with the balloons and banners etc that we dropped in on Christmas eve, altogether a lovely, special family meal (they even went to the trouble of cooking something for my daughter that wasn't on the menu).

Very tasty food, mostly traditional pub grub but with some other interesting options, helpful staff. Had to wait a bit for our food but that was partly our fault.

Typical Country Town Hotel — its exactly the hotel you expect it should be. Lovely people. Beautiful location.

Really good food, nice drinks, good service! It's a fairly standard chain pub, so atmosphere is a little lacking, but the food on offer is varied. Worth it for the price!

Lovely location but tired rooms, poor bathrooms & a not very well stocked bar. Some lovely staff. Hanging baskets outside with long since dead flowers.

The customer service is poor. We asked water and hot water after lunch and they said we are leaving anyway!? Meeting room is run down, overall feedback is poor and old. Not worth of going.

I would give minus 10 if I could. Went here on my birthday last week… they had a wedding taking place and should really just have closed the kitchen. We ordered two sandwiches, some nachos to share and some chips. 45/50 minutes after ordering they brought out two sandwiches — only one of which was ours, we explained that we ordered two the same and the waitress argued with us then stomped off. Another 10 minutes later our nachos to share turned up — £6.99, the description on the menu was "With grated Cheddar & mozzarella, tomato salsa, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños" but what arrived was roughly a 25g bag of the cheapest tortilla chips you've ever seen with about a tea spoon of guacomole and sour cream, no cheese, no peppers, no salsa and certainly not enough on the plate to warrant being even enough for one person let alone two. So we sent it back and also asked for the chips we ordered. The waitress again argued with us that the chips were already on the table (on the plate with the sandwiches) but we pointed out that the sandwiches came with chips and that we'd ordered another portion, she argued that we were wrong until we pointed out that it was written on the board right behind her. At which point she said something about the kitchen and stormed off again.

Saw live music being played in the garden. Had drinks only. But food looked really nice. Lovely, friendly place.

Older English hotel with very nice staff. Beautiful garden. Bed, toilet and laundry area were also clean, but the border areas of the room (Windows, windowsills etc. ) did not. The last renovation is also a while ago (flaking paint in many places, expired carpet). But would stay there again, above all because of the nice atmosphere.

Turned up for cream tea (as detailed on huge board outside the hotel) – waitress looked like we had asked for roast rhino. Eventually we were allowed to have our cream tea. What came out would have been suitable for the Hairy Bikers! The sandwiches came out just cut in half and two large lumps of cake were put on top tier of the stand. The cream was not clotted. Service and presentation very poor need to do much better.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff behind the bar. The food and drinks were good (black pudding started and rosemary salted fries were very good! ). Ordered nachos to share but unfortunately they had run out of salsa; if we'd have known before ordering we would have likely chosen something else. Other than that a very pleasant lunch.

Rooms rather dated and tired but price reflects that. Fine for getting your head down for the night if you're on a budget. Very friendly and attentive staff. Latte with breakfast was good despite not really being 'on the menu'. Breakfast pastries were interviewed and muffin wasn't that fresh tasting but again, given the price, it was acceptable.

Tired hotel, staff appeared unprofessional with guests. Examples would be cleaners wearing tracksuits and walking around with headphones on, and breakfast staff sighing at a guest when asked for hot milk.

Food was delicious, the staff were lovely. The restaurant area was a little small, but adequate and not at all crowded. Service was a little slow, something that a few more staff on shift would easily fix.

12 of us just had a very nice meal, I wasn't expecting that much from their 3 courses for less than £10 set menu promotion, but we were all glad we went for it, excellent value. Service was also very good. book ahead as the restaurant (rightly) gets pretty busy.

Excellent food which kids loved and good value before 7.00 pm.

On the 3rd October 2009, we had our wedding at the grosvenor. It has just been decorated. And we couldnt have wished for a better venue and management team. The food was 1st class, the new manager was realy helpful and the whole evening went off without a hitch. This is the place to get married. To say we were delighted is an understatment.
