Modern bedrooms, good facilities, great food, friendly helpful staff. Stayed here with coach party.

Lovely clean and near the city centre.

We had our wedding reception here 2 weeks ago and it was amazing. The run up to the day I was stressing but all the staff helped. Tim was absolutely fab on the day and went above and beyond to make our reception look and feel fabulous. He had all our guests taking part in everything and everyone has said that he made them feel welcome in the hotel.
The beds were comfy, the staff were helpful and the food was excellent.

Fantastic experience at the hotel today. Tim, Gill and all staff could not have done more for our 15 string party booked in for a Christmas themed meal. We experienced a transport issue and manager Tim stayed over his shift finish time to ensure we were looked after and helped to load our mini bus. So fab, so thoughtful, so attentive. Just wished it was closer to us in Staffordshire as we would be here every Sunday! Highly recommend the venue, it’s facilities and it’s staff. Thank you all.

Absolutely amazing find great from start to finish clean spacious rooms with full heated/air con system iron hairdryer/ luxury products choice of bath or shower great location with in reach of town! Friendly staff from reception bar restaurant lovely decorated! Food amazing Buffett style eat as much as like breakfast evening meal choice of al a crate and carvery highly recommend staying here also caters for disable with stair lift throughout will definitely be going back.

Had a reunion there. Rooms we fair size. Large TV on wall just like a home. Only downside 3rd floor room few stairs to traverse keeps you fit though.

Excellent venue and excellent staff. Made the day!

The staff were very friendly and even with a very large party our service or meal was not compromised.

Stayed here last night to attend a wedding reception, can’t fault the place, clean, tidy and very quiet, never made it down to breakfast though so cant comment on that xx.

Suberb afternoon at Gainsborough House Hotel with Bloomfield Over 50's Club. Delicious lunch, good entertainment, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

We had 2 nights away and could not fault the place.
Lots of parking and an easy late check in followed up by a 3 course meal in the restaurant.
The food was lovely and the staff were really nice
Reception was manned during our 2 day break during the week (Thur /Fri) by a lovely helpful lady who was always pleasant and polite.
If I could make any changes as a business owner myself it would be keep doing what you do and get an even bigger social media presence as it’s a …simple way to hit the market running. Good work guys and we wish you all the best for the coming year.

The staff were very nice and the food was outstanding. Our room was very clean and cosy and had everything we required. Would definately stay here again.

Visited recently to watch the football, lounge area is perfect to have a quiet drink and to chill out! Staff are very polite and work with a smile on their faces! Enjoyable and relaxing evening, 5 stars from me!

We stayed here after attending a UB40 Tribute Band at the West Mid Safari park on Saturday 18th August 2018. Beautifully clean hotel where the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless and had everything we needed including an extremely comfortable bed … the best pillows by far! There was a good choice for breakfast including cereals, fruit and croissants etc and the full english was hot but they did run out of bacon and scrambled egg but quickly replenished it. Will definitely be staying again! Thank you.

Excellent service and very good rooms. Had the champagne package which was great got a standard bottle + chocolates. 3 course meal was delicious. Cannot pick one single fault.

Attended the ABBA Express tribute night and 70’s disco — What made it good? It wasn’t over crowded — The atmosphere was brilliant — The act were great and no drunken idiots in the room to spoil it for others — Everyone who attended MUST have enjoyed their time — if not, why not?! — If you missed it, you missed out on a brilliant night out — Hopefully the hotel will provide another ABBA night like that again — It was fun, entertaining and I shared the biggest laughs with all of my friends who attended and made new friends too.

The carvery was good, though there were not a lot of options compared with other places. The staff always had a smile and it has quite an open space for comfort.

Friendly Staff, breakfast out of this world. Rooms clean and fresh. Couldn't believe the food was fabulous. We had a fantastic pork dinner. Delightful. Thank you.

A wonderful place, good standard of accommodation, great helpful staff and good food, all at a reasonable price, what more could you ask.

Evening meal was excellent with wonderful food and great service. Buffet breakfast was hot and plentiful. The room was a little dated, with dark wood furniture, but nevertheless was very comfortable. All in all a great place to stay.

Good location for the Safari Park, room was nice enough but the sofa bed my children used wasn't very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, buffet style.

We visited tgere for a wedding reception. It was nice there but I dont knlw details about pricing and so on. Drinks were expensive as you would expect and we had a good evening as a guest.

Rooms are clean and spacious, friendly staff, not the most disabled friendly although there is a stair lift up two floors we where accomadated on the third floor not the ideal but we managed 1 flight of stairs. Could do with more than a noisey fan heater/tired aircon unit in the rooms, & more comfortable bedding. As for breakfast finding it hard to get a positive. Hot drinks tea or coffee only warm from a flask, full English not the best, again only warm.

Absolute terrible stay. Booked 2 nights with my partner at the rate of 56 pound per night. After no sleep for 2 nights because of how thin the walls are how noisy the old air con units are and how many bridal parties they have stop up and down the corridors at all hours shouting and screaming they tried to charge me 224 pounds for 2 nights rather than 112 saying it's a fixed rate when I booked 2 months in advance and got it for 56 pound per night. Staff were down right rude and disrespectful and very unhelpful. Couldn't even go to the bar for a drink as there were guests fighting and brawling In there. The slop they serve and call breakfast was like something off a 2 star all inclusive in Spain. Disgusting. Rooms are rubbish again resembling a cheap nasty holiday abroad. Anyone thinking of stopping here please read this and save yourself some money and sleepless nights. Ended up paying 112 for the 2 nights and have 30 days to pay the rest which they won't be getting and formal complaints are being made. So overall review of this hotel is it's absolutely terrible and anyone in there right mind will steer clear. Not even worth 20 pound a night never mind 112.

Attended a wedding here today/night and came from brighton and everything was perfect, staff amazing and helpful, food etc amazing and couldnt off been a nicer place, thank you x.

Stayed overnight in a twin room, beds were comfy and the dinner was very nice. We had breakfast as well.

I arrived at the gainsbough for my stay staff was very welcoming and helpful while they took my money. The rooms are mediocre but of a ruff finish bad smell from pillows and the sofa in the room looked like the dogs had been sleeping on it dirty grout in the tiles odd pillows no toilet brush slow shower with no power. Not what you would expect for £85 per night. We ate from and in the restaurant 2 times a day breakfast £16 for the both of us and main meals £50-£60 for both we last 5 nights here spending approximately £625 during our stay. Today was day 5 and enough was enough we was woken up by maintenance sawing and building work with no warning @7am then popped out for breakfast at 9.45 the cleaners was allready in our room leaving us to stand on the Landing breakfast going cold 10.20am we had a call to the room the manager of the hotel well what can I say about him other than he couldn’t run a bath let alone a hotel. Explaining to us the room rate had gone up and we had to pay the extra personally think this was to benefit his own pocket. The rest of the staff even tho many are not from the uk where polite and helpful with our needs and requests The rating for this hotel is clearly there restaurant witch is outstanding other than that it’s a old shit hole.
Brilliant photographer Gainsborough hotel the most you will get from me is 1 star as your manager and rooms are total disgrace. But your little Indian chef deserves the 5 star rating …

Not posh, but suits us. Greatly situated, food in restaurant excellent. Been on many occasions.

Family birthday celebration, wonderful, clean, easy access, friendly staff. Value for money, easy too find. Highly recommended the Gainsborough hotel and restaurant as a place too stay or visit.

Stayed for Christmas and the staff were fantastic. Affordable place but very high quality. Breakfast was stellar!

Went there for a works dinner the other day. Overall was satisfactory but less than impressive, especially for somewhere that is perceived to be so high brow.

I have given it 5 stars it's only classed as a 3 maybe 4 but they give a 5 star service.

Nice staff, good value for money. Coffee at breakfast wasn't very nice but the food was fine. The bed was really comfy and I slept very well indeed.

This is a great hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms.

I. Was at the hotel with my daughter for a wellbeing function they were holding. We later sat in the bar for a cup of tea and a sandwich, it was a comfortable pleasant experience, the staff were welcoming and friendly and our cheese and Tomato sandwiches were very nice with a lovely side salad and crisps, we sat very comfortably in the pleasant surroundings. We could have had a bar meal or a carvery. The prices weren't too bad either. Overall a very pleasant relaxing event and drink in the bar.

Hotel ok a bit tired in our bedroom. Bathroom needs updating lack of drawers and not many hangers more suited to overnight stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful food average.

Good place to stay nice rooms and staff are friendly, food was no where near as nice as I thought and what the menu suggested.

We've stopped at Gainsborough House twice now and really enjoyed it both times. All the staff are really friendly and the food is excellent. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is that there is no lift but if memory serves me right they can't install a lift due to it being a listed building. The location is great for local attractions including West Midland Safari Park and the Severn Valley Railway.

Another great stay at the Gainsborough Hotel. In Kidderminster. It's become a home from home. All the staff are fantasic and there food is great. C u in september.

Review of services provided in function room. Room was used for a charity fundraiser — is large with large round tables, a small stage area, bar and toilets. The function room itself is provided free to charities. No card payment facility in function room bar because the card machine wasn't working. The men's toilets smelt absolutely disgusting — the most overpowering stench of urine I've ever experienced and this was from the beginning of the evening. The ladies were I am told clean. Ordered a pint of Guinness which tasted vile. I returned it to the bar and explained its foul taste. The barman himself took a sip and agreed saying it was the end of the barrel. No refund or alternative drink was offered.

Nice place only spent 1 night there while traveling back to London. Very comfortable and clean.

Nice and tidy place with helpful staff. Good sized room with all the necessities required. Overall it was a great experience.

Firstly waited at the bar for 10 minutes whilst staff walked past several times ignoring us, the place was not busy at all! We eventually got served and went to get our Sunday lunch, we then stood for 15 mins waiting for the chief to come and carve the meat, he still had not shown so we left hungry and disappointed and will not be returning.

I had the champaine package it was a small room vile food went home after a hour didn't not like this hotel one bit and paid top price for most expensive package never again!

Great stay in April 2015. Lovely staff, lovely room and really lovely meals. So re booked for January 2016. Can't wait. A Christmas present for my partner!

Booked a large meal for a group and the meal was excellent, very generous portion sizes and great quality food (proper meat), plenty of staff which made the service very fast and efficient. All the staff were very friendly and caring.

Me and My Husband got Married at The Gainsborough in December 2012. We have to say that it was The most Perfect day we could of asked for! The staff at the hotel were amazing, nothing we asked for was to much trouble. Me and my Bridesmaids arrived the night before, the room we stayed in was modern, clean and had Hot Chocolate! (I'm a sucker when it come to chocolate! ) We all had a great nights sleep and Breakfast was Fab! Full English Breakfast Buffet and could ask if we wanted something different. We moved to the Bridal suite to get ready ready and It was lovely. Our Wedding Co-ordinator Viv was great, ran me through the day's details and put my mind at ease (I'm fussy to say the least). The Civil Ceremony went perfectly and while we were having our pictures done outside, they staff efficiently made the room up ready for Our Wedding breakfast. There was a small area for pictures outside, which wasn't a problem as after the group pics, we has a quick walk around to the park (literally 10 seconds away) to have some more private and personal photos, best of both worlds! The staff even made sure no-one parked right outside the hotel so we could use the front for group photos and have nice pictures of the hotel. While waiting for the room turn around we used the bar area, which was great, it was big enough for all our guests, yet intimate so everyone mingled together. The suite we had Our ceremony and reception in was Lovely, it was big and had lots of Character!

Petulant bar staff. House wine crap, told bar staff, reply "you'll have to take it up with management". Place drab, uninviting, would never consider sending friends there. Frankly, needs new owners with balls.
