Excellent stay at this hotel, I can't fault it. We stayed 1 night for our anniversary in the superior room. Comfortable king size bed and lovely balcony. Staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and good quality, next time we will try eating lunch or dinner there. Lovely warm swimming pool and very clean will plenty of lockers and showers. We will be staying there again.

Enjoyed stay at hotel. Excellent for quiet nights rest. Beds were comfortable. Staff polite and courteous. Breakfast delightful. In a good location. Not far from beach and shopping.

Retirement celebration. Booked 2 nights to celebrate early retirement, we had an upgrade to an executive room with a balcony and a huge bed! What a wonderful weekend. Food in the restaurant was extremely good. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Hotel is in a good location, short walk to the front and beach. Parking at the hit2el was easy and reasonable at £4 per day.

Nice little hotel near the seafront. Been there quite a few times for events. Food is OK, staff nice, decent surroundings. Limited parking, but close to beach and amenities.

Professionally Run Hotel.

Hotel is quite nice, good location. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The evening meal food was excellent and breakfast had a good selection too.

Lovely overnight stay in the Hotel Royale. Perfect location to get down to the beach and into the town. Room was lovely and quiet and the facilities well utilised during our stay. Would definitely return there when next in the area.

Would like to say the best western royal was a fantastic weekend away. Rooms were immaculate the evening meal was great and the breakfast was good too. Will definitely be booking up to go again. 10 out of 10. The staff were very polite and helpful. Thank you for a great weekend away…

Lovely hotel in the Best Western chain. Well managed. They have a very good chef. Try lunch or dinner and you won't be disappointed. Staff are very attentive.

Much nicer inside than out. Got a very traditional, seaside hotel feel to it. Went for a conference here. The room was basic but comfortable. No refreshments provided.

Spent a couple of days at the hotel for some training. Though I can't speak for the hotel guest rooms, the room that the training took place in was really good. It was big, bright and modern. Reception was welcoming with some friendly staff. Wouldn't mind going back to find out a bit more about the hotel.

Have never stayed at this hotel before when visiting Bournemouth. I was especially impressed with the quality of the staff and the excellent breakfast.

Hotel ideal for East Cliffs zig zag & beach (5 mins) town centre (20 mins). Lovely large room but felt that bathroom window could have done with a blind or curtain as at front of hotel. Royale has a very nice comfortable lounge bar. Though in the restaurant for dinner we were all squashed in one corner as the tables were set out for breakfast plus we did have a long wait for our starters, but overall very nice stay.

Had a fantastic 'Winter Sales' here for 3 nights in a single room. Rang the hotel for a quiet room, and 2 minutes later got a call back from Sabrina to say it's sorted. Very polite and professional staff in all department throughout my stay. There will always be residual noises in hotels whether new or old, so good ear plugs recommended for peaceful sleep. The large pool there is a bonus, although in a separate building. The hot and cold breakfast included with my room is of high quality and plentiful served in the large restaurant on ground level. Very clean, efficient and within 5 minutes walk to local amenities and beach. I would stay here again. Guests should respect others by minimising their noise level for everyone to enjoy their stay.

Located close to the city center, station and the beach, Best Western Hotel Royale offers pretty clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly service from the staff as well as access to a pool (though I haven't really made use of this one). My only complaint is that the walls are a bit thin and my companion and I could hear other guests vomiting in their room at 2AM…

Had a great time at the Royale. Staff excellent. Kay on reception was great in arranging champagne and gifts for our room. We where there for our 50th wedding anniversary and we where not disappointed in any aspect of our Stay. Would defiantly recommend staying at this very friendly hotel. And would stay again if in area.

Great location close to beach, best breakfast I've ever had, clean rooms, friendly accomodating staff.

Really good carpark, you do have to pay for parking over night tho, but, its not that expensive, the Wi-Fi was at 20mbps download (I was on the first floor) the water from the sink — the cold had good pressure, however, the hot pressure was okay, but, the temperature fluctuated. The bath taps had good pressure of hot and cold and good tempture, however the shower head seemed to be stuck on one mode and it was a stream of water close to the wall, this did not effect me tho. The room had led lights and brush crome sockets. I did not use the swimming pool. The breakfasts was good. Good service as well. It was a buffet all you can eat one which was good. I would recommended.

Nice food, decent room, helpful staff.

My daughter and I visited this hotel to use their swimming pool for her swimming lesson. The pool is lovely! Modern looking large pool with steps into it at one end. It has seperated changing rooms and open showers. It has sun loungers around the pool and it also has French doors onto a grass and patio area.

Good Hotel
All quite old, the floor creaks, simply glazed windows, in the bathroom are two taps for each hot and cold water. Very bright room. A refrigerator was missing.
The beach is only a 5-minute walk away.
The staff are always eager and friendly.
The cleaning of the rooms is good.
I found the breakfast buffet to be versatile.
Makes a good hotel with charm together.

The hotel is situated approx. 5mins walk from some great pubs and restaurants and very close to the cliff/Bournemouth beach. The decor is a little dated and there seemed to be a disparity in the size of the double rooms, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the small pool during our stay and it was adequate for a quick dip, though I would possibly question the levels of cleanliness in the changing rooms. The included breakfast was a buffet affair — well stocked and varied.

A group of 8 of us stayed at this hotel for a few days 30th May — 1st June — — 4 rooms — — Our rooms were on the same floor (1st floor) we all had plenty of room in our rooms — — The staff were very pleasant & helpful — — the facilities were brilliant — — swimming pool (used by some in the group) lovely & warm — — the food was amazing — — nothing was too much for the staff — — on our 2nd night there was a large coach party (arrived late) — — there were delays with meals BUT the staff explained the problem & everything was fine — — everything was clean & fresh — — the staff were very welcoming at all times to everyone — — would defo go back again.

I loved the pool and food the cleaners were lovely and friendly. Rooms were clean and more. Safety locks as well. Food on morning and day. I cant wait to go back.

Great room, great price for a last minute booking. 10min walk from the beach. Close to where we needed to be whilst visiting Bournemouth. Couldn't ask for much more.

Amazing room, brilliant service and super cheap price!

Stayed here through work. Bit dated, food was okay. Rooms were absolutely freezing, even with the heater on full. Also, anywhere without an actual shower that still relies on a bath tap attachment to make one makes no sense in 2016. All I'll say is that, considering that the coach full of elderly people who arrived were here, I'm amazed it's getting away with being so lacking. Also — open coil mattresses? What the hell? Cheapskates.

It is an outdated hotel that need serious attention before inviting guest. They are charging par with other outstanding hotels. However, the condition of this hotel is not up to mark. We recently stayed in a double bed room, which is £129.00 per night (so called discounted price). However, when we landed, we found 2 electronic heaters which we couldn't workout the point. However, late night we realised that, the room heating is not working and hence the electronic heaters. We must say it was a disaster and had to sleep (part sleep) in a big cold freezing condition. We did mentioned it while checkout. However, they are not bothered as long as they can have your money. According to them, it was intend to provide extra heating if we needed. They looks smart to fool around fools and not anyone who is below average in their mind.

Had a really enjoyable stay here last weekend. Staff very friendly… clean… food delicious… Only reason I dropped a star was because the shower was awful and hardly worth having as water had no pressure to it and just dribbled out… But that wouldn't stop us returning.

Service was brilliant, however drinks were very expensive.

Had a lovely weekend at this hotel, staff are very helpful, and hotel is very clean and only 2-3mins from beach. We can highly recommend the breakfast as well, we will definitely be returning. Don't forget your swim wear as there is a lovely pool.

A very good hotel every member of staff was so happy everyone remembers who you are BUT make sure you are 3 Rd floor if not you will hear everything all night what people get on to best staff ever thank you.

The excellent Royale was site of our May '15 'Class of '58' Reunion, and I wisely elected (with late night gatherings/drinking) to book a 3 night stay there prior to a fast early exit for Poole-to Cherbourg, France ferry. Stayed 3 great well-fed & rested nights in upper rear quiet room with good facilities. Charming, helpful staff were simply great & graciously served not only a tasty buffet breakfast (part avail very early as req'd) but really superb dinners — which, to tell truth, I did not expect! After first nights excellent meal, I happily chose to dine there nightly, followed by a good chat with very friendly bar-staff. Felt really 'at home' & was actually reluctant to leave — despite France calling. The short few paces to the East Cliff-top gets you a gorgeous view of B'mth Bay from Isle of Wight to Purbeck Hills (of Thomas Hardy fame) & right there is the 'cliff-lift' to B'mths golden beach. It is a pleasant short downhill clifftop walk to the Pier or Pleasure Gardens, or walk/bus/taxi down nearby Bath Hill to Westover Rd's good shops, entertainment etc. Beyond are either B'mths justly famed adjacent Gardens or via the shopping Arcade & left to to B'mth Square in the center of things. Here you'll find local /L. D.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. If I was writing a review about the location and the staff then I'd be giving it five stars. But the hotel itself is tired and needs money spending on it to bring it up to scratch. Our hotel room was supposed to be a family room, but it was an average sized room with a double bed and single bed and then a travel cot that was tiny and had seen better days. The hotel room smelt of damp — even having the windows open all day and night didn't shift the smell. The bathroom wasn't the best; we didn't want to bathe the kids in the bath! We also used the swimming pool which, again was okay but needs refurishing. The location is amazing — five minute walk to the beach. The staff were brilliant, they couldn't do enough for us, but we wouldn't stay again unless it had a massive refurb! This is supposed to be a four star hotel, but we'd rate it more of a three.

Good overall. Except. We booked a Family room with a small cot as we had a 4 month old baby all was good with the room except the windows were very druaghty like they were open not good for a all baby.

The staff at this hotel are the nicest I have ever known at a hotel. We ate at the restaurant on the first night originally I thought the menu a bit pricey but when the food came out it was excellent and well worth the price.

Absolutely charming from the moment we arrived throughout. The temp outside was chilly but the sun filled interior, stunning room accommodations and pleasant staff were a delight from reception to departure which was too soon past. I was not expecting this level of aesthetics from a Best Western frankly, being familiar with the level of the chain in the US. I was completely delighted to find my room comparable to any 4-5 star hotel complete with ocean view, spotless, with spacious bathroom and other touches that made the room hard to leave. Nicely appointed in amenities. I believe it had been newly renovated when we stayed in June 2010. The price was more than reasonable for the room. The walk to the beach and promenade was like something you see in films. And sitting area on the cliff overlooking the sea was a nice spot for photos. This location was one of the highlights of a 10 day trip through the UK and I couldn't recommend it more highly.

We had our wedding reception there in 2010 and loved everything. The stalf were very friendly and helpfull.
