I had a great stay here. Booked a sea view room and the view couldn't have been better. I even managed to catch the fireworks! The room was always very clean after the cleaners had been. Very attentive. There was some confusion with the fire alarm that went off at 4am. Nobody knew if it was real or not as there was no communication from hotel staff. Breakfast was good with a range of hot and cold foods/drinks. I would book again.

A poor hotel where the staff are inattentive and the decor is tired. Our room was described as a sea view room but I can assure you that you’d need to strain your neck to get a glimpse. It was oven hot overnight, one of our windows wouldn’t open as the sash was broken. A complaint at the front desk was given a cursory nod but no action. The swimming pool had stains on the tiles, the bar staff were incompetent and surly… I could go on and on but frankly I can’t be bothered.

Friendly staff because understaffed often overwhelmed. Rooms clean, good beds. On the windows, as is often the case in England, savings were not properly opened for ventilation. Rinsing boxes outdated, with each flush rushing 100 litres of water through. Quiet top location on the beach.

This place needs renovating. Everything is tired. It is rated 3 star. I would rate it more like 2-3 star. Charged us £10 a day for parking and the prices to stay were really high. Not worth the money. Outdoor pool was shut off and was Dirty. Would stay there again.

Wonderful stay, beautiful room, friendly staff. Externaly a bit scruffy, pool filthy but being worked on. Balcony sea view second to none.

Really loved our stay at this hotel back in March. It took us a while to check in as there was a problem with our booking but the lady at the reception desk (I think her name was Katalin? ) was really helpful and friendly. The room was clean and modern, and a great base from which to walk along the beach and go to some of the attractions like the Oceanarium. We would love to stay here again.

Very very nice hotel with smart rooms and helpful staff. Some facilities are only available at the Carlton next door, such as outdoor pool, gym and restaurant. One gripe, charging guests for parking is shabby and low rent, but this is soon forgotten at this fine, pleasant place.

The great coner room with seaview, great location, good breakfast, have an elevator as well, as step, Buiding look a bit old but clean inside. Bath is a bit high and the bed is very light really can't lean on it at all, no fridge, no showe cap, no cotton pad, no cotton bud, 1 small swimming pool but not available maybe because out of the season. Got to pay for parking for public. Can be very busy in high season.

Lovely hotel… staff very pleasant… food hot and well presented… rooms ample size and spotless… no complaints.

Friendly and helpful staff. My mom and I we both enjoyed today a delicious fish and chips in the terrace. Excellent sea views. Free Wi-Fi. Parking minimal payment 2 GBP/2 hrs.

Really good place to stay, clean, warm and clean fresh smell to the rooms. Staff helpful, with a can do attitude. Looks little run down outside but don't let that put you off its better than some 5 star hotels I've been to.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay here. Very helpful staff, good food, very nice room, very clean and tidy. We are going back again this summer. Looking forward to it.

Lovely and beautifully clean room. Fabulous location. Staff were helpful and friendly. The self service breakfast was really awful . What a shame. There are fab places nearby which are better value and good real food.

Had an amazing time in Bournemouth and to be fair the location was great and the room was really nice. The thing that made it really poor was the attitude of a couple of the staff. Some of them were nice but one or two were a bit shifty and I'm pretty sure someone attempted to steal my wallet, subsequently bottled it and then placed it in the room in a very strange place! When I asked about the lost property they just fobbed me off and didn't even pretend to check. My girlfriend then asked a much more helpful staff member who took all her details and then later that day the wallet mysteriously appeared in the room. I'm aware I sound crazy, but it just seemed really dodgy! Also, the food was very expensive and average and the coffee was about 4 quid and lousy. I'd avoid to be honest but not in a bitter way, like I say I had a great time but this place is bait.

A very warm friendly helpful and festive welcome. Thank you to all the staff over the Christmas period. Our perfect location too overlooking the sea. So grateful!

Booked a room for 2 nights, less than £100 so wasn't expecting much, greeted with a fantastic hotel, lovely service from staff. Room was rather large but had only 1 radiator so it was pretty cold. Overall fantastic experience.

What can I say… Disappointing! Room was small with damp in the bathroom and hinges hanging off. Breakfast was cold. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

Excellent food, service slightly slower than expected but still good overall.

Disappointing. Parking Eye manages their car park! Leisure facilities are located within the sister hotel next door. Indoor pool is very cold and small, outdoor pool is nicely heated and a good size but the bottom of the pool is slimy, the jacuzzi is out of order and the sauna is only warm with a vent allowing a cold draft in from outdoors. The lockers take the old pound coins; ensure you take your own, the hotel had no old pound coins and no provision to provide tokens or trolley keys. Our room had bulbs not working (replaced on request), a very slow draining sink (marginally improved on request) and a broken toilet roll holder. Hot water takes literally 4 minutes to come through to either taps or shower head. The pirate kids pack at check in was very good. The hotel has a great location.

Staff freindly and friendly I like that you can take dogs to stay, wish we'd known this before. Down side was I got no sleep due to the very uncomfortable bed. Firstly I found what I think was a rivet or screw under the sheet. I managed to push that between the two beds to get it out of the way. The other problem is it really needs a new mattress as I could feel all the spring. I think I would have a more comfortable night sleeping on the beach. Oh and I found for nail clippings on the bathroom floor.

Have returned three times to this hotel. Very nice, spacious rooms and lovely public areas. The outdoor pool at the Carlton, next door (which is available for East Cliff guests) is the warmest outdoor pool I have every encountered.

Really nice hotel with nice staff. Rooms were clean but ours wasn't too spacious. Had an amazing sea view but our balcony didn't have a divide between us and the next room, so it felt a bit strange sat out there with strangers. Breakfast was nice as long as you picked things up while they were fresh and dinner at the sister hotel, Carlton, that we got given wasn't the best but with it included in the hotel price you cant complain.

Staff very friendly and accommodating but afternoon tea below par. Bland sandwiches no choice of filling dry cheap brown bread. Loads of cream and jam but very mediocre scones, was expecting much better.

Lovely clean hotel, nice dinner arrangements and accommodating staff. Room wasn't huge but plenty of space for the two of us.

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel where I was organising a group of 38 people. Everyone loved the hotel and thought it was one of the best we had stayed in as a group. The food was excellent. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The standard of cleanliness was very high. There were a few plumbing problems with water pressure and temperature but generally we did not feel that the hotel was as dated as some previous reviews had suggested. I was pleasantly surprised and will recommend this hotel to the coach company I used.

It was ok. The rooms were nice and cosy. The staff were nice. There was not much food choice and it was very old.

Lovely hotel very modern and clean. Breakfast was great. Didn't feel like anything was compromised.

Staying here due to house fire. I live a couple of miles away so know the area well. Was boomed in by insurance company for 7 days. I barely lasted the night. Booked was a twin room. Ie 2 separate beds as I am a mum with my 17 year old son. We arrive at 9pm to be told only a double bed is available. Ok so we have to sleep somewhere so we go to our room. The hallway carpets were filthy and the thick gloss paintwork had certainly seen better days. Room is hot and stuffy. We have an old looking noisy fan. We can open the windows however the handles are loose and the locks are popping out. Also as the windows open fully anyone off the street can enter our room. Our bathroom door only opens half way as the handle on the other side hits a built in cupboard. After no sleep I take a shower where the shower is so powerful it hurts. I'm all for a power shower but this was ridiculous. I then attempt to turn off the shower. Big mistake! I turned it slightly the wrong way. So instead of off it the shower spat out boiling water. I now have a burnt leg. We head down for breakfast. Looks ok. Nice dining room. Oh a bit of raw sausage and 2 tone putrid bacon is on the menu. No thanks. I have now refused to stay a moment longer. This hotel should be ashamed. I love bournemouth and have lived here all my life. This hotel is giving my home a bad name. How they got 4 stars is beyond me. Disgraceful.

Room was excellant fantastic views The staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere. Breakfast was great and plenty of it. Have no negatives at all would stay there again.
