Comfortable, cosy rooms with great breakfast! 100% covid safe! Had the best weekend.

We cannot say anything more than that we had a fabulous cosy stay at this beautiful guest house, dorothy and bekky were absolutely fabulous and made our mornings thank you so much. Breakfast was so good cannot fault anything we had and the service was perfect. Anyone who likes to feel like they are in a welcoming and relaxed place this is it!

My boyfriend and I have just got back from a lovely stay at this gorgeous B and B. Dorothy gave us the loveliest, warm welcome and explained everything so clearly. The room (number 3) was immaculate, gorgeously decorated and the bed was super comfy. It is an enjoyable ten minute walk from Bowness. Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. Thankyou for such a memorable stay — we will be back! Catherine and Adam.

Just got back from a perfect 3 night stay at chestnuts. Suzy was lovely, so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was lovely, very clean and nicely decorated. The breakfasts were spot on, plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Brilliant location to explore. Would highly recommend! Thank you.

My friend and I stayed for a couple of nights for a girlie getaway. Lovely warm welcome from Suzy who showed us our lovely comfortable room and cooks a mean breakfast! Would definitely stay again.

My wife Jayne, and I have just spent three nights at Chestnuts guest house, not for the first time. I would recommend you visit Sue, and her little helper Becky. What a fantastic place to stay. We WILL be back.

Had a perfect stay at Chestnuts. Suzy was extremely helpful prior to arriving and was there to greet us on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. The guest house is beautifully decorated, rooms are extremely clean and breakfast was delicious! Thanks again Chestnuts, we’ll be seeing you again!

Just come back today from the chestnut guest house, had an amazing couple of days with my mum. This was a perfect place to stay, the rooms where spotless, nice an comfortable. The staff/owners where incredible so friendly never had the exceptional service before in hotel etc! The breakfast was amazing. Such ideal place to stay close to everything you need. Will be definitely going back soon! Thank you once again for our lovely stay.

Excellent service and very clean and tidy.

Loved the hotel, located in between Windermere and Bowness 10 minutes walk between the two places so ideal not directly on main road, so no noise pollution so nice and quiet after a busy day! Wonderful room, nice size, good security with electronic key fobs we had a beautiful four poster bed and so comfy lovely and clean! Great breakfast lots of choice and well cooked and the tea and coffee was a great size in proper sized pots and not silly little pots well done! Staff couldn’t do enough for me and my wife, lm also a great believer of supporting or ex forces so any past or present forces give it a shot well worth it.

Myself and my hubby are not long home after a lovely weekend stay at the chestnuts, we were in room 3 and it was lovely, breakfast on both days was lush and hosts Paul and suzy were great, very helpful on things to do and places to go, and the guests carpak was an added bonus, we will definitely be back and would definitely recommend staying at this lovely guest house.

Only two days into our stay but can comfortably say 5 stars already. Paul and Suzy superb hosts and making us feel very welcome. Only two complaints: TV in our room is a tad small and has 5 channels, and only a shower, no bath. Very minor in the grand scheme of things mind given the hospitality received.

Just returned from a 4 day stay. We had room number 6 which was lovely it was very clean and comfortable with a lovely big en suite bathroom. There were some nice touches. Tea coffee chocolate biscuits and water and toiletries. Breakfast was plentiful with cereals juice toast and a choice of full English breakfast, waffles with fruit, salmon with scrambled egg or omelette. Everything is cooked fresh so you have to wait a few minutes. It's worth the wait. Staff were very friendly and always asking if everything was ok. The location is ideal. Just a 10 minute walk down to bowness lake or 10 minutes up to Windermere. Parking is free at the chestnuts so its worth leaving the car there as its very secure. We would definitely go back to the chestnuts and would highly recommend it.

We stayed at chestnuts for a night earlier this week and felt very comfortable and at home from the minute we arrived. The guest house is spotless, with very tasteful decor. We were made very welcome and the hosts were friendly and helpful. It is also situated in a good spot with the bonus of parking. I would recommend this to anyone and intend to return for another visit.

A lovely friendly b&b, set back off the main road that leads from Windermere into bowness. A welcoming couple in paul & suzy who are really attentive & thoroughly focused on this busy well decorated establishment. Superb breakfast awaits you in the dining room with a choice of full English, omelette or poached egg or salmon on toast. Homemade bread is available to sample & is fresh every morning with a selection of cereals, toast, jams & butter. The bedrooms are quaint and have toilet & shower in are pleasantly decorated, some rooms have a bath in. Tea & coffee are replenished every morning & biscuits are a plus. Very clean & parking is off road. We really dropped on with this place & would recommend for either 1 night or for a week. The kingsize mattress in our room was one of the comfiest we have slept on & shall return again in the near future, really helpful owners & a credit to their profession. Once visited you will want to come back again.

Very nice guest house in a very good location for both Windermere and Bowness.

Me and my partner stayed here a couple weeks ago for 3 days for his birthday and the couple were perfectly welcoming and made us feel right at home straight away!. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. Even the basic room was lovely! The bed was really comfy and then the room with the four poster bed was lovely too! Was so romantic!. I even asked for a little suprise to be left in our room, a cake and chocolates to celebrate my partners birthday and this was done with pride and class! It was so lovely of the couple to do this for us, and it made the break away more enjoyable! The house itself was beautiful and all the other guests were polite and friendly and were conciderate of each other so it was nice and quite while you were sleeping! Breakfast was my favourite part as it was yummy every morning! And all your needs were met without the couple being to in your face if you will! Overall a brilliant stay for the price and I would definatly reccomend anyone visiting Windermere to stay in this guest house!

Stayed 3 nights from 31.7.14. Excellent guest house. Heather gave my wife and I a warm welcome on arrival. Nigel very friendly and his smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on fried bread was to die for. Exceptionally clean throughout. Good location. Can recommend this guest house to anybody. You won't be disappointed. Thoroughly deserve their rating of 9.3.

Enjoyed our stay at chestnuts very much. So clean comfy bed smashing breakfast excellent choice hosts brilliant like homefrom home tea and cake on arrival very welcome lovely easter bunny surprise thoughtfull touch. This was our second stay we would highly recommend a stay to other people.

I stayed here with my partner a couple of weeks ago. We fancied a little get-away somewhere that we could go walking. The Chestnuts was very easy to find, it is just off the main road through Windermere and has private parking (a definite must in Windermere). The room was very comfortable and the bed was perfect. The facilities were clean and well maintained and the food was great. Heather and Nigel are both extremely pleasant, helpful and easy to talk to. We are already planning our next trip and will definitely be staying here again.
