We had a good day and the inside area was great with lots to do for all ages however it was really dirty! The inside toilets stank so bad my neice was urging and I held myself to avoid going in them, outside ones slightly better but no toilet paper. All of the supervised activities were closed for the staffs lunch rather than rotating staff breaks. Biggest issue was lack of animal care! The turkeys were fighting and there was blood everywhere not nice for little ones to see, we couldn't go in to the goat pen as the smell was too overwhelming and the donkey had sores on his feet. The only staff member we saw was doing the pony rides which consisted of a short walk back and forth the tiny yard! Spoke to her about the turkeys and she was dismissive and said yes I know turkeys fight what can I do? Also a wooden hut had blown over and been left, just seems like not enough staff or care which is a shame!

Had a lovely day with my children on Monday. I think the new equipment in the old barn is great! Lovely to see familiar staff and she spoke to my children about the animals. Can’t wait to come back again!

Really good place to take little ones to play. Lots to do and keep them entertained how disappointed with the barn cafe. Lovely selection of drinks and cake but no food. It’s such a perfect place for the adults to have something to eat and be able to watch their kids play and also for kids to be able to eat. Having to leave to go to the other cafe spoilt the day as kids don’t understand so they thought we were going home which spoiled the day. Wasn’t expecting a full menu but maybe just chips or hot savoury choices like pasties or sausage rolls. You took away trampolines to provide the space to eat but it’s currently wasted as it serves no more than the previous little shack that was their before. Had no reason to sit in the cafe part just for a drink so had to use the picnic area just so the kids could at least snack on few things I had brought with me. Hopefully It’s just because of lack a staff and it will improve.

Kids had such a good time! Worth every penny and half price if you come back within 7 days! Out door area has loads of stuff to do, soft play is huge and really good and the arcade was a hit. Kids had more fun here than kidzworld. Would definitely come again.

Absolutely amazing day out for all the family… so much to do for all ages. The bar/food was lovely! toilets were clean. The lady who did the horse rides was brilliant with the kids and really made it special for them.

Great day out with small children. Lots to do both inside and out for all ages. Busy but not overwhelming which was nice. Reasonable prices for food/drink/snacks. Lovely to come back with my own children after having last visited roughly 25+ years ago! 🙈

It's £12 per person and you can easily spend the whole day or even more there! Such fun, really recommend it and will be going back! Xx.

Very disappointed after hearing great reviews about this place. The general layout is confusing, you pay and get let in through a gate but if you want to go to the restaurant or bowling (after you’ve been let through) you have to go back out to the other side of the building and then to go back to the main park you have to wait to be let back through. The pony ride is depressing, literally just walking in a circle, not even in a field just in the middle of what feels like a car park. Had to wait an hour for chips. I honestly don’t understand why people rate this place so highly. We won’t be coming back.

There was lots of space so felt safe at this difficult time. Staff were friendly and helpful, nothing to much for them.
When I got back to car I had left lights on so had a flat battery, RAC said I would have to wait two/three hours even though it was cold wet and I had a 2 year and 1 year old in car, so we went back in and the staff jump started my car
That meant so much to me.

Had a bowling night on Saturday and had a brilliant night, the staff were great especially Trish and the older gentleman, sorry didn’t get his name. So attentive, we didn’t want for anything. Such a relaxed place despite all COVID restrictions. Been coming here for many years.

Great place to keep the children entertained on a rainy day. Nice cafe with very reasonably priced food. Quite expensive £12 child over 3 yrs and £12 per adult… however you can purchase a return ticket for £6 each valid for 12 months.

Brilliant day out, so much to see and do my boys love it. Lots of suitable areas for different ages and nice animals to look at. Will return prob twice a year. Really reccomend!

the staff took time to stop and talk with us. It wasnt busy so we went round everything easily
held rabbits rode the pony and received free tea and mince pies.!

I would have gladly recommended it as it is a great place to go but, paying out for 5 of us has become too expensive, especially when you consider that one of us (me) doesn't use any of the facilities. Just not worth the money anymore.

Brilliant place to go bowling it is very wheelchair friendly as you can get the wheelchairs right up to the bowling alley no restrictions food is very cheap and so are the drinks we spent all afternoon in the bowling venue and we had a really nice afternoon.

Superb value for money little place with lots activities for ALL the family. Charging same entry for kids/adults is wrong but is cheap, even taking into account the small extra's inside. Would return & definitely recommend.

A great leisure park and fun farm combined. Staff were attentive and friendly and the play barn had many different areas surpassing the quality of most indoor soft play facilities. The restaurant had a full gluten free menu and prices were very reasonable. Do search for discount as there are £1 off per person vouchers out there.

Had a great day here today with our 18 month old. It was lovely and quiet on a Monday so we had use of pretty much everything and had it all to ourselves. The food and service at the restaurant was great, nice little gift shop, plenty of inside and outside play equipment for all ages! We will definitely return for another visit when we’re back in Cornwall :-)

Very welcoming friendly and nothing is to much trouble. We as a Memory Cafe had a wonderful day.

What a lovely place for Sunday lunch the staff cannot do enough for you food is fantastic. There is nothing not to like.

Trethorne is a fantastic day out for our family in all weathers. There is a good outside space to play, a massive indoor soft play which is also fun for the adults and some animals to see and stroke. It is my two year old’s favourite place to go. We have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The return ticket for £5.50 is a good offer too!

Very posh hotel and amazing golf course with the most beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

When choosing days out with our Autistic Twins, safety and an enclosed venue is of the utmost importance, the leisure park is very well maintained and clean and we found it very secure, only a few areas were difficult for us to use which is a positive as most places for our autistic children are fraught with danger, not here! Our twins really enjoy the visit and now familiar we will for sure return, we only lasted 3 hours but got to enjoy most of it but 3 hours is longer then we have at other similar places, fair price, good parking, clean well kept animals and the young staff we met seemed
Very helpful and happy to be there which gives a positive on how their treated working here, look forward to coming back hopefully last a little longer next time x.

Great staff great food very enjoyable.

This place is amazing. Its definitely my favourite place to go by far. I’m there nearly every Sunday. The lady that looks after the goats and cows is amazing she’s always so kind and answers all the questions we have about the animals. The price to get in is great to. The only down side is in the play area it’s cash only but we go to the front desk and get cash back. I look forward to coming back with the kids next week.

Had a meal here with a party of 16 with only one complaint from all of them being a child’s meal which was dealt with quickly and pleasantly. Would recommend this place to all.

I've stayed here a few times and have always enjoyed it but even more so now following the refurb of the public areas. Very good food served in restaurant and really good breakfast.

Fab place, great animals, can feed, touch and they are well cared for. Great areas for children to play. Staff friendly, shop not too expensive. Got a year membership is a great place and made a effort for easter with a trail and treat at end. Would recommend.

Had a lovely one night stay at Trethorne Hotel and Golf Club. Clean and comfortable room with lots of space and a great bathroom. Great selection at breakfast.

Excellent service by the staff for my mothers final send off, they truly looked after my family & guests. Food top class, rooms spacious, clean and comfortable, on suite facilities A+, tea/coffee making facilities, even allow dogs. 2nd stay here & would totally recommend value for money. Great place to have a break on trip to Cornwall, brilliant leisure areas for kids & adults.

Great food they do here absolutely splendid and great layout of cutlery for tables great place to come to.

My “Sunday Driver Special” break (2 Rounds of Golf + Dinner, B&B) was absolutely fantastic “value for money”! All of the staff; Reception, Bar/Lounge and Restaurant, were all very courteous and freindly. All of which made me feel very welcome and appreciated. The course is well designed and a “good test of golf” for all standards of players. The course itself was a little wet in parts (which is only to be expected in early December) But the greens were in excellent condition (especially when taking into consideration the time of year) This was my first time to TrethorneHotel & Golf Club, but it certainly won’t be my last! Congratulations and sincere thanks to the staff @ Trethorne GC and I would like to wish you all a very “Merry Christmas and a Peacful & Prosperous New Year”. Very comfy room, nice and warm, friendly staff, great breakfast. Only complaint was a horrible smell coming from bathroom, but if we shut bathroom door it did not smell in the room. Room 16

From arriving to departure everything was quality. The rooms are modern and spacious and are well suited to all types of visitors. The rooms have a double bed and a single bed, also benefits from a separate WC and Wet room complete with sink and mirror plus two types of shower. I can only comment on the quality and availability of items from breakfast as I didn’t eat any other meals from the restaurant. The food was good and properly cooked, my only gripe was no black pudding (I'm a Northern boy, it's traditional). The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and will stay here again.

This is the 2nd time staying here. The rooms are very nice and clean, beds are nice and firm which we love. Breakfast, help yourself buffet, was really nice. Fresh food readily available. Staff are great too. Minor niggles: No hair dryer in the room, biscuits were stale & we had a little visitor somewhere in the room as we could hear it gnawing in the night. We didn't mind but others may freak a bit. Room 18

Overnight stay as we were attending a funeral. Comfy and everything we needed, although the toilet did have a rather unpleasant odour and we didn't realize it would be a walk to breakfast good job it wasn't raining. Staff very helpfull and evening meal in restaurant enjoyable.

Great place great value for money so much to do even if it's raining lots of indoor activities. Gift shop very good value for money as well Pony rides my daughter absolutely loved and for £1.50 great and the staff was so friendly and helpful :) )

The staff were very welcoming. The room was above expectations and the breakfast excellent. The only problem we had was the traffic noise which was not the fault of the hotel. The main road was closed over night and diverted passed the hotel. A lot of HGV vehicles. Luckily I carry ear plugs so it wasn't too bad. I would recommend the hotel.

Feedback request. The area and the staff were very warming and polite throughout my stay. The breakfast service again was exceptionally professional and enjoyable. The only negative was the condition of the room (Room 4). Before booking with you, I visited the website and viewed the gallery and everything to do with Trethorne Hotel & Golf Club, and my true disappointment was the standard of the room, which was nothing close to any of the pictures on your website. The room was very old fashioned and extremely tired compared to the many hotels that I frequently stay in, and it clearly needs a complete refit/decoration. The small TV was wobbling on its stand and was only visible at an angle and the wall bracket needed tightening or replacing. As the room had no air-conditioning or even a fan, it was pretty warm so it was necessary to open the windows, but this also created an additional issue as this room faces towards the main road outside and the traffic noise made it difficult to relax or even sleep. The bathroom was again in need of a refurbishment and it did not feel clean. I am sorry that my comments are probably painful to read, but I feel it only fair to give my true review on my stay. It was a shame as I was really looking forward to staying with you after seeing the website.

We have been coming to Trethorne for around 15 years now at roughly the same time of year. Each year something changes and the place is refreshed. The changes can be subtle or obvious, but the over-riding constant in all that is the excellent attitude of the staff in all aspects of the venue. Green staff, bar and restaurant staff, front of house staff, housekeeping and managers alike all have superb attitudes with a "can't do enough" approach to their guests. My opinion, Trethorne is an excellent base not just for golfing, but for visiting Cornwall in general and represents really good value. Visitors to Trethorne should accept it is a golf club and not purely a hotel. It is easy there to talk to local golf club members and take part in the vibrant atmosphere of the clubhouse. If I were to look for a single improvement point, I would however suggest a review of the menu available. The breakfast and lunch menu's are absolutely fine providing everything you would expect. However, I personally would like to see a little more variety in the dinner menu. This year, there seemed to be a limited choice of dishes featuring vegetables, I hasten to add, not vegetarian dishes, but vegetables as accompaniments to the dish. Although the menu choices were totally satisfactory, and we found something every night that was appetising, a wider choice of vegetables would have made this more satisfying. Perhaps, seasonal vegetables could be added as a side order?

We stayed two nights DBB and had three rounds of golf. Rooms were fine but a bit noisy early in the morning due to their proximity to a busy road. The golf course was terrific and if you are old timers like ourselves I would advise using buggies as there are a few steep climbs. Food and beverage was very good with lots of choice. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. All in all, we had a very enjoyable three day break.

Solid little course with big aspirations. Please with my eagle on the second! Will be coming back.
