Food not as advertised. Terrible service. We were excited to try the Mountaineer Boil. Potatoes were practically raw and no clams. Decor, view and drinks are great but skip the food.

Had a snowed in valentine's statcation, excellent experience.

Valet sucks! Awful experience. Will never stay here again.

The staff here were so very helpful during our stay! I am a patient at the UW for a kidney transplant and they gave us the patient room rate and guaranteed it to us Everytime. They also waived the parking fee for us. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Rooms are very clean and I love the atmosphere! We will be back and not just for the awesome room rate but for the wonderful experience!

We brought our son to start school at the University of Washington and stayed here. It’s only a few blocks away from his dorm and the Campus. Beautiful hotel, very clean, comfortable beds. We love it so much we will he staying here when we come visit our son.

The staff was so accommodating! We gave ourselves plenty of time to get over the pass but arrived early. Thankfully, the staff was able to check us in early and gave us a view overlooking the U district. This is such a beautiful historic building. The room was decorated true to the time period and classy as well as clean! Our bed was soo comfortable! Thank you for such a beautiful room to stay in!

Great hotel not super expensive but not super cheap either, great coffee shop downstairs, valet guys was great, great lounge on the roof with views of the Puget sound and of the city skyline, also there are good views from the rooms. The only downside was water was either scalding hot or cold. Overall though it was a good stay for two nights.

So very beautiful. Amazing staff. We will be back.

Great views of the city and mountains!

Staff isn’t very friendly. The first night we arrived we were having a conversation and a knock on the door from someone wearing a “Marshall” badge said there was a noise complaint on us. We stayed all we were doing was talking and he said to keep it down. Which means the wall must be paper thin. The room was stuffy and even though the temp was set to 65 we never heard the ac click on. Also the worst water pressure I’ve ever had at a hotel. Overall definitely not worth the price.

The staff are wonderful. From the moment I called to ask questions until the time we checked out, we felt completely taken care of. Kevin at the front desk went out his way on several occasions to make sure our stay was awesome.

A Great place to rest and study!

Great atmosphere. I look forward to the indoor/ outdoor bar upstairs. They have nice performances in the lobby.

They've created a warm and comfortable space. Best of all, they are showcasing local musicians in a relaxed atmosphere, which the U District had been kind of lacking in recent years.

On one of my recruiting trips for Intel Corporation, I stayed in Hotel Deca. Funky small rooms and the supposedly wheelchair accessible room was NOT. The only god thing about Hotel Deca was proximity to UW and the offices for student interviews. I had a lot of fun interviewing that day, so the hotel room’s inconveniences were soon put on a back burner.

Unfortunately, this hotel went out of business in the late won't if 2018. It's too bad! It was a really awesome hotel. I usually would go there for the coffee shop on the main floor. There's also a bar a floor underneath the main one. It was a classy joint. I've really been missing it.

Good location. Dated building and services (still offering DVDs instead of streaming. ) Door next to my room led to the outside where garbage was piled up and people went out to smoke. Restaurant was good, but had limited menu and played favorites with guests as far as ordering and time allotted.

Fun and funky. Great location in the u-district.

Nice historic hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms. Every room has a corner view! Very close to the University of Washington campus.

I attended a event here and the conference rooms were nice but the doors were extremely loud when people came in and out. But overall the facility had a very nice feel to and it had an attached cafe. Restroom locations we not in the easiest locations and the disabled people were forced to wait for the slow elevator to use the restroom as there were not available on the main floor where a lot the events were.

Overall it was a decent hotel. The room was nice enough and relatively clean, but the walls were really thin so I could hear conversations in the room next to me. The Wi-Fi was practically non existent so I couldn’t answer work emails and I also had trouble with the heating/cooling system. Given all that, I didn’t think that they should charge a resort fee with so few functional features. So fine overall, but don’t think it’s worth the price.

Hotel Deca was so very accomodating and went out of their way to help my stay be as comfortable as possible. All the staff was friendly. The room was very spacious and well kept clean. Their fitness area wasn't the best and the hotel was definitely old. Still, one of the friendliest hotels I have gone.

Excellent stay. Decca very busy with check-ins even in the late evening, but front desk staff more than made up for it with excellent service and friendliness (thanks, Kevin! ) Room was lovely and comfortable. View was fantastic. Giving four star for two reasons: refrigerators not standard in rooms, and housekeeping/front desk did not respond to request to replace missing amenity despite asking a few different times.

Customer service at it's worst! I arrived to find my room had been given out — even though I had called to say my flight had been delayed. No apology whatsoever! I was offered a "free taxi ride" to another hotel and asked to leave. The manager, (a guy by the name J***), did not even bother to apologize or take responsibility. His answer was "it happens all the time". The next day, I was offered a 15% discount on my next stay. Sorry Deca, you can keep your coupon! There won't be a next time.

The room was a nice size. The beds made you feel like you were home, if you were homeless. The glass in the bath tub was an awaking experience (see picture). The elevators had cuts in the wall, the floor was broken. Now let's talk about the welcoming staff at night. If you were in a prison you would say the guards are rude. I wondered why the night security guard had on a tactical vest, and an empty gun holster, then I walked around the motel. Drug addicts sleeping all over the place. Nothing like charging you $15 a night utility fee if you book through Expedia. Also be prepared to pay $26 a night to park at this motel. Don't worry your safe, you have to have an access card (see picture) to get above floor 2. The entire time we were there and we came and went at all hours due to work, you never had to use an access card to get to floor 14. I think floor 14 is above floor 2. There are many other places, seek them out.

Rooms 1 and 2 on each floor are across from the elevator and adjacent to an ice machine, beware. Otherwise responsive staff, clean and well appointed room. Convenient to bus or walk to UW, but not really directly accessible by Link to airport.

The people are so nice and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and surrounded by a lot of restaurants and cool stores. There's a cafe and a restaurant in the building. My room was clean and comfy.

Very nice staff. Appealing ambiance. Recommended. With almost all bus lines or trolley buses you can easily get to the city centre. We went in with the 49 and returned with the 70. Ger. Price per line at 2. $50

I had high hopes for this hotel on my trip to Seattle. Comforter didn't appear to be washed, I lifted it up and there were urine stains and it overall was dirty. I had the front desk bring up another comforter, that was dirty too. They don't even clean the rooms. The bathtub had marks all over it upon arrival. The closet in the room was so dusty and gross. It's cheap, but not worth it, not even free breakfast, or a pool. Highly disappointed. The only positive things were the view from the 14th floor, and the university district.

Nice affordable hotel in a great location. Hotel was very clean. Staff was so nice and knowledgeable. The lobby and fireplace area was nice. There are wall to wall bookshelves with a great collection of books. They have a nice relaxing coffee shop/cafe that is relaxing and great for reading or using electronic devices. Is within walking distance of many restaurants. Rooms are small but very clean and updated. Tv's are small. The soap and hair care dispensers in the shower were nice. They are scented with wonderful botanicals Allowed you to use the exact amount vs trying to squeeze out of the little bottles other hotels provide. Vending machines would have nice but they Don't have any. Not even for soda. Don't pass this place up. It is worth checking out.

Outstanding experience. Came up for amerivespa 2017 this was the host Hotel. Great choice. Staff was unbelievable very accommodating. Fast elevators beautiful rooms excellent View. Could see the Space Needle lit up at night totally amazing. Will definitely stay here again.

An excellent hotel stay in the University district. Lots of great restaurants and shops nearby. The downstairs bar was very stylish, with ample room to find a quiet nook for a intimate conversation. Love the dark and bold colors of the lobby and bar, tall ceilings and spacious guest room. The furniture in our room seemed a little dated and disjointed from the modernity of the rest of the hotel, but not a deal-breaker. Excellent service.

Good Hotel near Seattle.

The room is fine. But be careful for the extra dollars they charge. The charge a $20 self parking fee with 20% state tax and $15 service fee for very poor Wi-Fi. I'm very disapoointed.

Room is very comfortable. The bed and pillows provided a nice and easy rest. The view is pleasant. The bathroom is clean and tidy, though there's no exhaust fan in mine. Very steamy. The staff are kind and helpful. It's nearby great restaurants and across the street from one of best cafes I've been to.

Don't stay here. Poorly maintained. Unable to heat or air condition to comfort level. Arrived when it was 42 degrees outside and the room was 68. Heater would not work and advised front desk. Their response was they did not have any more heaters to bring to the room, but they would give me another comfortable. Comfortable was the thickness of a sheet.

Nice look, clean rooms, easy walk to UW campus. Good for small work conferences. Not a lot of local amenities but there is free Wi-Fi. Thought it strange you need a code for the public restrooms, but you can get that from the front desk. Stairs are not the nicest but the elevators work well. Friendly concierge staff. Cafe and lounge look inviting.

We have been to several of the Skipton Hotels and Argonaut sure was the most unique! It was rebuilt from an 100 year old Dole warehouse, and it really had a lot of characters. On top of that, it was right next to Fisherman's wharf and you can walk to all of the tourist attractions, good restaurants, and night life. Of course, every time we stay at a Skipton, our dogs are very happy. They get their own bed and small presents.

Great location for an event I had to attend at UW. Had a good stay and the hotel Definitly had more character than a typical business hotel. Stayed a few extra days to check out the city.

Nice staff and real nice renovation. But, no room in the hotel has cold air conditioning avaiable until May 1st of every year. This hotel has an old central air conditioning system, so they turn it off during the Winter to save money. If the temperature outside warms up in Seattle you have to rely on opening the windows of your room to cool things up. I personally have never heard of this and think it's totally ridiculous. When you call the front desk about it they try to explain that the switch to turn the central cooling system on is locked by corporate and there is nothing they could do about it. It seems this year the weather in Seattle has warmed up a bit sooner than anyone anticipated, so if you like a hot hotel room and no way to cool it, this is the ideal hotel for you until May 1st of every year.

Front desk is very helpful and understanding. They deal with the same questions day in and day out from disgruntled guests. But they do it with a SIMLE on their face. Love the firewood fireplace and vast book shelves surrounding it. Lots of great books to pick up to read. The free coffee coupon is awesome for a quick pick me up after lunch. Parking is paid unfortunately. $20 a day. Room are very spacious for this price range. TV is small 36' for the lower floors. If you have an upgraded room, it has Large 46' TV. Free access to gym on property or ask the front desk for a voucher to go to the near by YMCA to work out. Wi-Fi is free. Works great. Over 25mb/s. Can do work without being restricted.

Nice rooms and a good looking hotel. Very close to UW and I am visiting for a conference on campus.

Overpriced — quoted wrong price. Small room. No hand soap in room. Lost and found/housekeeping never returned my call after numerous attempts. And several messages. The only positive was that the hotel was close to amenities.

Bar staff wasn't friendly, we had to ask for silverware. Seems the same unwelcoming atmosphere as I remember. Convenience prevailed.

A decent hotel near the University. Close to all the restaurants the students go to. They also provide parking across Seattle if you want to visit Pike's or something else in the city. Free coffee, water, apples. Also, the soaps also smell very good. I would stay there again.

Just off 45 along Roosevelt, very nice feel to the hotel, a vintage edge and still a mix of modern, clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly. I have yet to make use of the 24hr fitness room.

Stayed in corner room the final days of our West Coast honeymoon. Room was elegant and affordable. My husband loved the record shops in walking distance of the hotel. Would stay here again.

I would not stay here again. Rooms and Staff were nice. My struggles were with their accommodations and how it appeared that there was a rooftop in one of the photos. There is but it just for one of the suites up stairs which is fine. Also, there were ants in our bathroom when we woke up each morning. We notified the front desk on our first morning and when we came back later they were mostly gone. Next morning another group of them came out. I am not talking like one or two I am talking 15, I counted. Ants are not a life threatening concern and the front desk was kind to offer a minor appeasement in form of gift card to coffee place. Lastly, they have a gym, nowhere in their photos does it show it.

Love it! Room was quiet and lots of option for dining on the strip.

Watch out for this place! They are deceptive about their prices! I'm getting charged a $90 "Resort Fee"! When I asked about it, I was told that this fee is a facility fee and is for reception refreshments, the business center and the so-called "complimentary" Wi-Fi. I asked if I didn't use any of these services if I would still be charged the fee. They said yes. I asked if there was any way to get out of paying this ridiculous fee. Nope.

Room was smaller than they said it was. Bed was noisy. They said there was a Jacuzzi tub in every room there was not. That said there was a pool and there was not. No movies on tv, you have to go downstairs and pick out a dvd and they are all old movies. There was hair on the toilet. Restaurant is actually a bar in the basement. A burger cost me 12 dollars. Breakfast was also in the bar in the basement and very expensive. Never agian. We were not comped for any of these issues.

Spent my birthday here and they made it truly special. Great customer service and very nice clean rooms.

We booked a two night stay. On the second night we returned to our room to find that we had been kicked out. They said that we would have to pay $200 as a fine for smoking in the room. The thing is, WE DON'T SMOKE. Nobody else was in the room. The front desk manager called me a liar! I'm 51 for heaven's sake. I feel like I've been scammed. I guess I should get a lawyer. I have never experienced anything so horrible in a hotel. I would really recommend that you not go here.

This is a very nice and cute hotel to stay at if you are on a budget or not. The room was very nice and clean. I purchased the room for a in town getaway. It was perfect. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Trapped in the elevator. For a hotel that is considered fairly fancy, the room that I got seemed to be actually outdated. The bathroom was tiny, my room was miniscule for what I paid, the walls were paper thin. You could hear every word of the person talking out in the hallway. The internet didn't work for us, we couldn't figure out the TV, the only thing that seemed to be worth anything was the beautiful view. But the view wasn't quite worth THAT much. However, THIS IS THE STORY YOU REALLY WANT TO READ ABOUT: During my stay at the deca, I was taking the elevator down to the lobby from the 11th floor when suddenly it. Just. Stopped. I was with two friends, which as it turned out, one was extremely claustrophobic. We waited probably ten minutes scared, but not knowing what was going on, trying to come up with conclusions, "Did we break it? Is it still moving? Maybe the power went out? " Finally, we pressed the call button and we were connected to the front desk. They told us that, "the elevator does this every once in a blue moon, " And that they were sending people to our floor to figure out what was wrong. So, we waited. And we waited some more. After a while, one of us, the one who was terrified of small spaces (he was freaking out and having a melt down, we tried to sooth him, but he was furious) started to need to pee. He called the front desk again, and after they couldn't comfort us, he started yelling at them.

I took my girlfriend to Seattle for the weekend to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. I expected a much nicer room for the money. The bathroom was tiny and the bedroom was average at best for dropping $400 per night! The best part of the hotel was the parking which was probably the least of my concern to start with. To top off the stay we were woke up by the cleaning staff at 7:30 am Sunday morning to vacuuming and cleaning the room directly across the hall as the maids were talking loudly (because of the vacuuming) to each other. It was a very rude awakening! Overall I was very displeased with the experience at Hotel Deca and will not recommend them or return there.
