I absolutely adore this place. It's quiet and cozy. I stayed in a single room, and they are small. If you don't feel comfortable with small spaces, I would not recommend this. The bathrooms are communal, and if you've done your research and been to their website, all of these things are made known. The Innkeeper Peter was very helpful when I needed to find parking, and answered all my questions about the surrounding area, what times The Loft was open, and how to go about doing other things I wanted to do in the city. This little inn is so charming, and I would absolutely stay here again.

Very friendly staff are the highlights. Smelly room, carpet has iron burn marks. Dirty bed frame and room light not lit… It is certainly an unique experience. It feels like that the room has not been cared for for a while. The sofa looks aged which is fine, but so dirty is another issue… Will not recommend to anyone, even for budget travellers.

Fun and quirky, the service is always great! Definitely a bit run down and could use some repair. The bathroom stalls are only for very small people!

Room was not cleaned. While looking for my kids toys I found all sorts of things left from other guests. No wash clothes but had every other towel to use. No bathroom. Communal Bathroom down the hall was available. Lights on one side of the room would work but the other side did not. No air conditioning, only in the stairwell which does no good on the floors or in the rooms. My reservation was lost but the lady found it after some back and forth. No way to contact from desk for help, a phone is in the room but it is not connected to anything. In addition, front desk isn’t available 24 hours. No parking. Parking is not limited. Metered parking from 8 am — 8 pm with 2 hour limits. Free parking in metered areas from 8 pm — 8 am. Great location, walking distance to family. Free breakfast in the am. Pretty sure the people giving this place good ratings are friends/family of the people who work at this place because NO ONE would rate this high.

The rooms were just as advertised. Lady at shop when we checked in was not very happy or pleasant. Don't expect much including the free Wi-Fi cause you can't connect to it from 1/2 the building. Breakfast isn't too bad if you are staying a day or two but any longer you might want to find a coffee shop up the street. Oh yeah… only 1 towel in room for 2 people to use. If you like an old time hostel then this is the place for you.

The bedrooms aren't very nice. The worst I've had so far. You share the bathrooms with the college kids including the toilet. Not very clean about 20 stairs just to get to the first flat and then another 15 to get to the first floor. No elevator pray you get the first floor so you don't have to go up any more stairs.

Comfortable, convenient, well priced and a hearty continental breakfast. Has a positive hosteling vibe except without the dormitory accommodations (all private rooms with modern electronic locks). Will definitely keep The College Inn on my list of options for visits to Seattle.

This place was cozy enough, for a hostel. I loved having my own room. The shower wasn't awful. I never had trouble with having to wait for a shower. The breakfast was simple but always enough. My room smelled like a restaurant but you get used to it. The service was okay. One girl was rude — one guy was nice — — so, "even Steven".

Good ass hotel they were very nice the view is amazing you are basically across the street from a grocery store. The rooms were so cute. And it was across the street from everything, you can walk a block and get a Greek food Mexican Indian whatever you like its pretty much across the street the bed was ducking amazing and the sheets made me feel like a king it was awesome. Good price compared to the stupid days in. This place I'm going to go back too.

It is a unique place. We just arrived and everything looks as advertised. Having a bathroom and shower down the hall is different, but they supplied nice robes.

I love the bed so soft and comfy like sleeping on a cloud But everything else not really, shared bathrooms. No T. V. And it was haed to fine, if u ask me it was way to over priced, I paid 270 for 3 nights fir just a room with a bed a sink and a broken dresser plus wobbley chair and thats it, well the staff was sorta friendly.

Don't bother putting money in the jukebox. Sound volume is set too low by staff, if they don't like the music. Tried classic rock, nu metal, hard rock, metal, and comedy.

You get what you pay for. Can't turn the fan off without turning the light off too, no way to regulate temperature, I got an ironing board, but no iron. It's cheapest you'll get for the area, though. So it is what you pay for. Oh, and the bathroom/shower is in the hall.

It's a no frills, cheap place to stay in a good area. While it isn't the nicest hotel in Seattle, it more than makes up for it in price and location. The room was clean and amenities were adequate. Overall, a good experience.

Only because it's nice enough of them to give me a very large room lower than market rate the two times I've stayed with cute city / bridge views, not overcharge, I think its quaint, comfortable and has an antique element. The poor girl who rents to whomever academic or alcoholic / transient in the area was attacked by a man who robbed the liquor store for booze and pushed her just as I arrived. I enjoyed my stay in spite and have no idea how to fault the hotel. My room was awesome and unique each time. They've eradicated bed bugs. It's a friendly cultural place for people who can handle a dent in an 80 year old piece of furniture picked by hand.

I stayed at the hotel while visiting UW. It was centrally located and reasonably priced. I didn’t mind the dorm style with the communal bathroom. HOWEVER… the day after my stay I was covered in very itchy bug bites on my neck, arms, back, and hands.

Terrible host, when there is one, it was closed with a "I am back in 30 min" sign when I arrived (this sign was simply turned over when it opened so this is apparently common). The guy was talking to me like I am an idiot. Well, apparently I am one, since I booked a room here. The dirty communal bathroom was in line with the poor internet connection and the windows from which you can hear the street similarly weather they are opened or closed (the obvious gap on the side explains this…) I would avoid this dumpster at any cost.

Unbelievably horrible stay. Without doubt the worst hotel experience I've ever found myself a part of. There are no televisions, no bathrooms in the rooms, there is no air conditioning, and no front desk (you check in at the counter of the convenience store next door). The public restroom area has a large window that is open all day, smells horrible and is literally swarming with flies. There is grafitti on the mens stall dated 2016. I didn't dare use the shower. Throughout the duration of my two day stay a beer bottle sat open on the restroom sink that was never disposed of. The walls are thin, the bedding is dirty. The door lock likely wouldn't hold someone simply resting their weight on the outside. It may be the "college inn" but the dorm style accommodations were far worse than anything I experienced in school. I was travelling solo, and I'm no stranger to "roughing it" but I would feel cleaner and better accommodated by sleeping in my vehicle. I truly feel sorry for those students who stay here with their families, I would urge you to go a little more out of your way financially to spare yourself from spending time in this hot sleeping closet. Your peace of mind is worth it.

This was my first time in a "European Style" hotel. I assume that refers to the communal bathrooms rather than one in each room and no televisions. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. Parking in the area can be difficult and confusing. The next time I need a place to stay overnight, I will certainly be back.

Horrible experience from the start. Its ran out of a little corner store, the room we were supposed to be in was a disaster. Was not cleaned after our check in time. Staff was not pleasant and was frankly rude. We were not offered anything, not even a prepared room. We were robbed by the third party cheap tickets. This place was so disgusting I never want to step foot in it. Horrible everything.

Positives: For the University district a great location, excellent coffee and bagel shop next door. Pretty good bar downstairs on other side of building. Negatives: No parking, No air conditioning, communal washrooms showers only. Run down. Overall more of a hostel than a hotel.

Loved this little place. Perfect for one night. Communal bathrooms, no air conditioning or fan in the room but for cheap this was super close to the bus that goes straight to the space needle and Pikes Market. Great little old fashioned place.

My family and I stayed here over the weekend, we were pleasantly surprised at how sweet and cozy this place was. Id suggest room 210, a corner room with beautiful old wood window seats over looking the streets. It was perfect. Also, the complementary breakfast was fresh and delicious. Im hoping to stay again next time we come up that way.

I've frequented the College Inn several times and it has always been an enjoyable experience. The prices are within expectation for the venue's location, service is good, the staff are responsive and friendly, and there is ample room for large groups of people. The decor is a bit dark and moody, which lends itself to a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The overall volume is fairly reasonable, it's not too difficult to have a conversation and patrons should not end up feeling uncomfortable. Beyond the service and general environment, the College Inn has two billiards tables in the back. They're great for some quick games between friends, however their ball management system isn't always functional. On my most recent visit it took a server assisting my group several times to free all of the balls. Additionally, their pool cues are all well worn with broken caps and misshapen tips. This is not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of. Overall, I'm quite happy with the College Inn and plan to continue attending events there in the future!

Really cool vibe and good drinks. The bartenders and the other people working there are nice and make it a fun place for a night of drinks.

Great staff, regulars and much quieter atmosphere than most bars in the neighborhood.

Great University-Ratskeller! Can get pretty busy on Friday nights, but it's a great place to get drinks after a busy week (or Monday).

Affordable and in a good location for access to UW and the rest of Seattle. The room and bathrooms were clean. Don't count on the breakfast, though you can survive on it if you avoid the milk.

I was there for a week in June 2015. firstly, I am sure ALL OF 3-4-5 STRAS ARE FROM OWNER. the room has NO BATHROOM two toilets and bath room for each floor! NO ELEVATOR! you have to take all of your stuff by staircase all the way to 3th floor! NO TV & REFRIGERATOR! Wi-Fi is awful! rooms are very SMALL &DARK. The paint is very old and the walls are very DIRTY. please, please, please dont waste your money. I think even 5$ per night is expensive for this hotel.

Reminds me of being back home, in canada. Staff is nice, passers-by people are to stiff, no human emotions and scared to help with directions to aanywhere in town.

As a UVic student I found the college inn to be very much in line with my sensibilities and my appreciation for Seattle's facinating history. Thank God there was no tv! Fantastic for the budget conscious Canadian!
