The room was nice & it was quiet. You couldn’t hear your neighbors. It could use more amenities on the property but we were always out sight seeing so it wasn’t a big deal. The area is amazing. It’s a cute little town with lots of history with a short drive to Jamestown & Yorktown. I’d definitely go back.

We are Westgate owners, but were placed in a single hotel styled room. Not what we expected or what is indicative of other Westgate properties.
However, it is in a great location to all of the historical sites. That's the best thing I can say about it.

It is very clean. The staff is great. There is so much to do and alot of local places that offer great food.

We stayed for 5 days and enjoyed our time. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and well kept. Our room was comfy with 2 TVs and fully equipped kitchen. We were close to all nearby restaurants and stores (outlet malls). We would def stay again for the price!

Rarely do I find the need to leave a review… this trip has rendered me speechless. As a owner, I am disgusted in the staff, resort and "activities" on site. I will not go into details, but we will not return.

Beds uncomfortable older motel turned into a resort (not)

My son was a guest from the 23-28 Of May. The cottage was very lovely. We will definitely book again on our next trip to Virginia! I love that it was near Colonial Williamsburg and awesome location on Richmond Road near awesome Restaurants, Outlet Mall, Shopping, etc.

Great place to stay. Customer service was awesome and really friendly. Plus the beds are really great.

The room was very nice but I was extremely disappointed in the service there. We stayed for four days and three nights and never once did anyone clean our room. I had to call and ask for fresh towels. By the time we left, our trash was overflowing. When I called and asked for towels, telling them our room had not been serviced, no apology or offer to clean the room was mentioned.

As owner and first time at this location, I found the staff n maintenance personnel friendly n attentive. Rooms are dated. Had spiders n crickets in my room (#174). I think they should get rid of rooms in back of resort and make that a more modern facility. I will rate this a 4 because of staff, maintenance n restaurants in the area.

We came as guests for a timeshare presentation. The rooms they put you in for that aren't that great. It's a basic motel room. It does have a microwave and mini refrigerator. The timeshare presentation was good. The rooms they have for their owners are small but very nice. They just approved plans to expand on to their back lot.

It's an overcrowded resort. Needs a little love and attention. I gave three stars because the staff are very helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to help in any way possible. Corey, the manager stays on sight most of the time. The rooms are in need of a good cleaning and some paint. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on next door and across the hall. It's pet friendly so be prepared for a little barking.

The room definitely didn't measure up to the photos or marketing pitch on their website as a "resort". It's a timeshare where the room has been shared many, MANY times. The room looked tired & in need of renovation. The bathroom was acceptable but small. Great if you just want a place to lay your head at a discount but you get what you pay for. The large pool is very inconveniently located far from many of the so-called "resort" rooms & requires a drive to get there. A much smaller satellite pool is located near the duplex style "resort" rooms.

Long story, but in a nutshell… Infested with ants, promises made, but not fulfilled. Never a manager to be found. Finally after 4 phone calls and visits to front desk in two days, our room was changed. Nobody seemed to know who to contact or how to help. Even maintenance man we met said they would take care, but again, they didn't. We had ants in food, bed, bathroom. Room service remade our bed with same sheets. Good news, room was close to historical sites and restaurants. RESORT is not accurate term.

We had 4 rooms so we had one villa to ourselves! There's no ice machine on the second part of the property but they said they could bring it for you but that took an hour. Their curtains had some black gunk crusted on it as did the bathroom blinds and a part on the wall. There's no pool towels on the second pool but are available at the main building. One of our rooms had a stopped up drain or something because it smelled so bad in their bathroom the whole time. Someone came to fix it and it wasn't fixed properly. We stayed at the pool past the posted time but we were quiet so they didn't mind. We asked for extra towels and they took a long time so when we asked again they brought like 30 towels.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at Westgate and we love it. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. Our room each time we stayed has been very clean and housekeeping does a great job keeping the room nice. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

My family and I were offered a free week at one of the Westgate resorts if we attended one of their timeshare presentations. My husband and I both work in real estate and thought it would be interesting, and we actually were considering something like a timeshare but didn’t know what the pricing would be like, so we decided to attend to do some research. Our sales associate Kelsey was awesome. She knew her stuff, was very professional, and had kids the same age as ours, so we did a good amount of chatting. At the end of the presentation, it was time to talk about pricing. She put forward some numbers, which were high, and then got her regional director to present us some discounted numbers from some units that were being resold. Here is where things took a turn for the worse. After we got the pricing info, we thanked them both and said we needed to look at our budget to see if this was something we could afford. The Director then proceeded to shout at us and berate us in front of our four year old daughter and toddler, to the point that the other presentations going on in the room stopped and were watching. We were able to extract ourselves and leave, but it was a horrible impression to leave on a family who actually was interested in purchasing. Where in real estate school is someone taught to yell and whine and argue to close a sale? Not interested in staying here or doing any business with this time share thanks to this guy.

One of the best hotels in the area. A great location near groceries and restaurants, 12 minutes to downtown and 20 minutes to Bush Gardens or Jamestown. They have a heated pool, hot tub, and kiddie pool, plus 9-holes of mini golf and a sand volleyball court. We had a two-bedroom suite that was great, full with dishes and 3 TVs. Parking want a problem, though it was the off season. I highly recommend it!

The room was very nice. However, it was more like a hotel than a resort. We had toured the Gatlinburg facility. Was hoping this was at least a little like it. Disappointed no indoor pool or hot tub. No restaurant/bar on site. Was centrally located. Everyone was very friendly…

There are many lodging choices in Williamsburg. This is an an excellent one. Large, clean rooms in a hotel where everything works. Very comfortable beds, good lighting, a microwave and fridge, and professional, responsive staff are not to be taken for granted with the competition. I have occasion to spend time in Williamsburg two or three times a year, and this hotel just moved to the too of my value list. I'll stay here every time the price is right.

The place was beautiful and the activities they have for the children were great. (Check the calendar in the registration building) The upstairs does NOT have a full kitchen only a hot plate.

Don't EVER book a room at this hotel. They were HORRIBLE to deal with. The phone staff was TERRIBLE. I have never ever written a bad review in my life but after almost two hours on the phone with these people and the were rude, and indignant. I would NEVER recommend anyone to stay at this hotel!

Walking through the streets of this town is like stepping back in time. There are tailors, shops, an old cemetery and many places to visit. The most important thing is that there is located one of the best in the USA.

Clean, neat, updated. Tony is awesome! He worked at the front desk. Upon arrival I was disappointed in my reservation because it wasn't what I asked for. Tony lisyened to what I had to say. He got the issue corrected immediately. Suite was wonderful!

Nice rooms. Decent amenities. Great location for exploring Williamsburg. The staff are pleasant. The only problem we had is the beds are like concrete with nice sheets. I have literally slept on train station benches that were more comfortable.

Great location near major attraction & amenities, like groceries & restaurants. Large, homey but nicely done 2-bedroom suite. A couple lights seem to waver & the hallway 3-way switch may be miswired. Staff friendly, efficient. Pots/pans limited, some missing (needed to request replacement), as well as a spatula & can opener. No dining table, but breakfast bar with 4 stools. Master bedroom has pass-thru Jacuzzi tub into bathroom, and the shower door tends to leak at bottom corner. Main bathroom shower whistles, but water pressure & temperature were good. Heated outdoor pool open year-round. Convenient parking. Basement with game room & fitness room open 24 hrs.

Since coming the staff have been extremely friendly, the service prompt and professional. The room has been neat and orderly. Downtown Williamsburg is just absolutely gorgeous.

Very nice hotel. Rooms were decent size and the beds were soft. Staff was very friendly and they had chocolate chip cookies when I checked in. I will definitely be returning. Only cons would be carpet was a little dated and the layout of the hotel is very weird.

Great spot! Clean, comfy rooms. Some really cool amenities, that are going to get better with a planned expansion. Would love to make it back after they are done.

I'm giving it 2 stars because considering we got this really cheap, you basically get what you paid for. On the other hand, when we travel we are too busy doing stuff to get super picky BUT, there are some standards that were just not met. We asked for clean towels because on the second night the room was not cleaned. We had to walk all the way to the front office because there is currently no phone service. No phone service means no service at all. Third night, they made the beds and left towels, but no clean sheets and not cleaned. Fourth night same scenario, but a puddle of water in the bathroom from the rain. They did ask to move us but since the maintenance person stated it was a fluke thing that never happens and my husband was sick we didn't want to move. Fifth night, same thing different night. Now at this point the not changed sheets is just not acceptable. Resort? Ah no. But since it is almost midnight, a sick husband and quite a walk to the front office is not worth it. I don't even know at this point why they even bother to come the room and make the beds?

Nice clean room. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Front desk is extremely knowledgeable of local area and attractions. No restaurant on site.

Absolutely love this area. We stayed in the cottages about a block from registration. Quiet, very friendly staff and great clean rooms. We will definitely be back!

I reserved a room at this resort in July 2017 thinking it was a very nice place to stay. My first impression was that it was a bit dated, but I could live with that. It didn't feel right as I was going to my room location, because I was directed off of the property and down a nearby entrance. When I saw the room I was shocked. The building needs painting and the furniture looked like it was from decades ago. Not only were bugs flying around the door, but there were tiny black bugs on the bed. I felt itchy and immediately contacted the front desk. They did refund all of my money, no questions asked… so that part of the process was easy, and the people working there were very kind. This place is a badly renovated site that should be demolished, my opinion. I went to the Hampton Inn on Richmond Road and it was fantastic.

Resort is located near vicinity of everything which is very nice. Room was clean and kitchen fairly equipped. Place is a bit dated but it does add a bit to the historical feel. It could use upgrade or updated bathrooms. It felt a bit like a college dorm room bathroom with a few vanitys. Service staff was friendly and quickly got us set in our room.

There was a problem with the bathroom being connected to the bedroom, there's was no separation between the two, when we called the front desk we were told there should be some sort of wall for separation, however there was none. The front desk also told us that we should expect a phone call about this inconvenience from a manager and we've yet to hear back from them. It's been rather inconvenience however the best experience has been that the gentleman on staff that night Nate very kindly provided us with excellent customer service and more sheets.

Staff NICE answer your questions give help try to meet your needs. Place is kept up clean. Places to eat are in walking distance. Outlet mall just down the road 5 minutes away. Bush Gardens 10 miles away.

Well when I made the booking I was told we could take the resort tour on Sunday but after they got my money they said I could only do fri or sat. So we decided to do fri 9-1030am. We go to check in for the resort tour and they couldn't find our paperwork! Really, he got my money… so we check in and wait to be seen and then at approximately 9:40 or so a lady comes to us and says we don't have you down for Fri, we have you for sat which was ridiculous cause I 100% picked Friday. So we do the tour on Saturday and due to all the stuff that went down we decided to not accept the vacation package. They weren't happy but that's ok it wasn't that pushy than the other tour we went on. We had to go to the register to get our passes for Busch gardens and water country. We asked if we could have 4 water country passes instead of 2 and 2 and she said no. We told the guy that the hot tub jets weren't working correctly and he said the jets don't do like normal hot tubs, haha. Then I get back to my room tonight around 6 p. M. And they haven't even cleaned or done anything in my room so I guess because I didn't buy the package I don't get room service for the day. Wow. Definitely not a good resort. Not coming back.

Horrible experience. Currently in the room, and it's been terrible. Was told when I booked there would be a rollaway bed available as we are a family 5. Got here, no rollaway in the room. Called the front desk, they don't even have any on the property! But gee can we bring some extra towels? Ummm no not really. We've put 3 chairs together to rig up an extra place for 1 of my 3 kids to sleep. It's ridiculous. Take their resort tour, no, I'm not ready to buy in right now, they send it this guy who is a complete rude ass and basically told us that we, and other people who don't take his final offer are idiots, got mad said goodbye threw up his hands and left the table. Sent us to the "gift room" where we got nothing we were promised. Again it was too bad so sad. Don't waste your time.

Historic charm meets… ants? Detached motel-style "cabin" type rooms (~4 rooms/building, which we didn't request) were extremely dated. Our room had regular pavement ant sightings, no surprise with tons of evidence of ant activity right outside in the poorly tended "grass" areas. The shower surround appeared modern glass and chrome, but the actual shower fixture was from another time entirely, with separate hot and cold taps and absolutely no temperature control — wild swings from hot to cold and back again throughout, even on the last morning when it seemed we were the only ones left in the building. The bathroom had a window directly onto the street with poor quality venetian blinds covering it, requiring us to either close the bathroom door (making night time trips problematic) or suffer through constant outdoor light. Inside and out the rooms were in visible disrepair, with peeling paint, nail pops, and the aforementioned ants a constant presence, despite our efforts to keep everything clean and not give them a chance to get started. A not-insignificant crack of light was visible at all times through the main room door. The only hanging space for clothes was behind a 4-foot-high eaves-style door, which also hid the room safe way in the back, appearing precariously perched and likely quite easy to simply walk off with. On the plus side the fridge worked, and the dresser in the room was nice enough. The bed was not terrible.

This is a time share that you can rent a room at. People working there are friendly and helpful. They put us in a section far away from the main part of the facility that looks to have been built in the 60's and is well worn. The pictures on the website show the inside of the rooms but not that it is in an old out building instead of the modern main facility. Room smelled musty but is good sized. Free Wi-Fi.

As an owner of Westgate, I elected to stay on a short trip at the Williamsburg resort. I actually booked through Expedia, as I was only saying a few nights. I had some level of expectations going into the resort, but the reality fell even more short than you could have imagined. First, we were in the cottages, which seems to be some budget motel that the main resort bought next door. The rooms smell, and they are not even close to the typical Westgate standard. I would be upset if this was a Motel 6… the Westgate name is an embarrassment. The entire experience is horrible, and I would be shocked to learn of an overnight guest actually buying into the resort after staying here.

The room was dirty all over, they don't have someone at the desk late at night if you need something. There hot tub was hot but the jets didn't work. The whole entire place should be maintained better. Are A/C went out the second night and we where told we would have to wait till 7 when the maintenance crew came in and it was out for the whole hotel and everyone was calling complaining. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If you read many other reviews you will see that cleanliness has been talked about and hasn't been taken care of. This is not a resort more like a cheap hotel with not good amenities.

Beware of management swapping your room for a lower rated room. Happened to us till we complained. They did put us up in a better room but was a bad way to treat customers. Otherwise, the resort was good.

The location is close to many scenic places and is convient. The service is amazing they help you with all your needs. But the rooms are small cramped and not well stocked.

7 year Westgate Owner (Las Vegas Towers). We booked a studio on a gift week here and initially were given a totally aweful room similar to some of the older posts. We immediately called the front desk with the concierge to let them know the room was not acceptable and we wanted other accommodations. We even stayed at another location the first night until the room was taken care of. The following afternoon we were moved into a queen studio in the main building. Now as an owner I am familiar with the owner meetings to review my account and discuss upgrades, after the first days experience my wife and I really did not care to attend this meeting but we were glad we did. We met a fantastic VIP consultant (Theresa Hunt) who listened to our issues current and past experiences and took them to a corporate Rep (Willy May) who immediately address some issues I've been having, and assured my wife and I that the issues we had were taken care of and the past issues were not what Westgate is or stands for. These two made us feel like the Owners we are and spent several hours with us to ensure we were satisfied. We had no intention to purchase additional time/ property but could not turn down the incredible package they found for us. So I will continue to reccomend vacations through westgate and only deal with Theresa Hunt in the future.

This hotel is dope hands down. I wasn't even expecting a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom so having that to relax in was awesome. The shower was cool too. And I loved how the bedroom connected to the main area and the bathroom and the bathroom connected out both ways as well. It's honestly like a master bathroom at a nice home. The only things that kind of sucked was the chair in the living room had nasty old stains on it and the bed left my back aching when I woke up. But overall, I wish I could live here as long as those two things were changed.

Booked a Studio unit, couple next door had TV loud and were talking almost as loud. Thought they were in our room. Had no Laundry facilities in/room or on premises. Heating & a/c unit inside our room was filthy and made alot of noise. Didn't sleep well at all. My wife & I have owned a villa in Kissimmee, Florida for 29 years. My wife booked Williamsburg, Va. In 2/15! We are both retired and were looking forward to a nice vacation. Well, that didn't happen!

My husband chose this location to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary. The suite was beautiful, clean and perfectly set up. The Staff was amazing. I have to give a very special thanks to Jennifer Joyner. She helped my husband organize a beautiful surprise. They had my favorite wine, chocolate covered strawberries, Roses, rose petals on the bed and a hot bath with candles and rose petals waiting for me when I arrived. As a Westgate owner I was quite pleased. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

WORST RESORT EVER! I have stayed at different Westgate Resorts over the past 10 years since I've been an owner and this one is by far the worst. As soon as I walked in after checking in, it was obvious that they never clean the rooms well. The pots, pans, and eating utensils were all dirty and even had some food still stuck on them from the previous guests who stayed in that room. THE GROSSEST PART was when we went to the bedrooms and looked at the beds. There were tiny little hairs all over the sheets (this may be TMI but they resembled pubic/vagina hairs) and lots of clumps of dust. There was lots of trash under the bed as well including plastic covers from cups and napkins. DO NOT stay at this hotel if you have a family or are picky about hotels! Instead of investing money in developing the resort, they should give their cleaning staff some classes on how to properly clean a bedroom!

Beautiful Apartments and plenty of amenities With a beautiful Pool. Wi-Fi only in the Launch.

Not a resort more like a motel for retired couples. Room was tiny and dirty, but the bed was comfortable. The bed was up against the window and you could reach the small frig/sink/cabinet from the foot of the bed. We had to put the coffee table against the couch to comfortably get in and out of the bathroom. The carpet was very dirty and need to be stretch as there was large wrinkles. There was dirty silverware in the small sink. The luggage stand was broken, and there was a 10 inch section of caulk/silicone hanging from the bathtub. The room wasn't cleaned on Saturday, but housekeeping was knocking on our door at 9:30 AM on Sunday (checkout @ 10). For the price we would have preferred to stay at a number of different hotels. We would not recommend Westgate unless it was the last "resort" (pun intended).
