Had late check in 4-midnight. Room was adequate. Had internet. Typical breakfast provided each morning. Responsive and caring staff. Had lounge for eating and sitting in lobby. Could us some repair such as siding coming off wall near carpet, tables stabilized. But overall well kept.

The hotel is decently priced, and the free breakfast is decent, if limited. But, when you leave for the day all they do is make your bed. They do not restock anything! Not even the coffee! What hotel doesn't restock the coffee!? Plenty of hot water though. In fact, it's almost impossible to get any comfortable water in the shower. Our TV remote need a new batteries they did not make sure that the remote would work before we entered. Also, their Internet is messed up. They say it does not require a password, yet when we tried to log on, it requested one. Luckily there was the neighboring hotel's internet that we could log on to. If you're planning to book a stay because of Busch Gardens, I recommend picking from any of the other hotels in the area. But if they are all booked, then The La Quinta is an okay choice.

Stopped here on our return from Va beach where we paid four times more for our room. This didn't have all the amenities but the staff was great. Clean comfortable beds and room. Went to Colonial Williamsburg. Booked for one night and decided to stay another. Breakfast could use an upgrade on plates and utensils. It was clean and food was okay. Great coffee. Young woman Sarafino was exceptional. She is truly an asset to this hotel and the reason we didn't move to an upscale hotel for our last night on VA.

Excellent location, especially if Colonial Williamsburg is your destination. The rooms are a little older but still well kept. Great breakfast, tons of choices. The front desk staff was amazing, getting us a different room when someone's smoke (100% non-smoking doesn't mean much to some people) was coming into our bathroom. I would absolutely go back again.

Very clean and friendly place! We came in a little early and figured we would have to wait. At the check out desk was a super nice guy named Marlon… he was the crown jewel there! He told us of an issue that the hotel was having but told us that it was being handled … and it was! Very nice to go to a place that wants to make it as comfortable as possible for the customers! We also had a great night's sleep… beds very comfy! We will definitely be back!

This hotel is roomy. When we got to our room we detected an unpleasant odor. We were able to change rooms easily. The rooms in this hotel are big and have a microwave refrigerator. There is no channel listing in the rooms so if you want to watch TV, request a listing at the desk. I'm a real stickler for cleanliness and this hotel was fairly clean. The carpet in the halls were pretty dirty. The layout of this hotel is very unusual. It struck me as having been repurposed as a hotel.

Fairly clean amenities, rooms and common areas. Above average hot breakfast. Could use some sprucing-up, but definitely not in disrepair. Knowledgeable, courteous staff. Unfortunately, no indoor/heated pool. One of the only 'pet-friendly' hotels around, but wow some people bring seriously huge and multiple dogs here, so, some barking, an stampeding throught the building.

When my family and I were there, I had just had neurosurgery, so I was using a cane and had an extremely weak left hand. Without having to ask, we were given a ground floor room, making my life much easier. The entire staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The room was clean and well-appointed. The beds were comfortable. We use La Quinta a lot because we often travel with our dog. Since they adopted the "pets welcome" policy, the hotels often have a "doggy" smell. I detected NONE of that here. The overwhelming impression one gets from the common areas is of clean, airy spaces. Breakfast was excellent with scrambled eggs better than most institutional preparations. There were also biscuits, sausage gravy, and a meat. (In our two days, there was bacon and sausage. ) Cereals, yogurt, and waffle makers round it out. The only complaint I had and the reason I didn't give it a fifth star was the totally inadequate Wi-Fi. It was often down, but even when up, it was glacially slow. I had a full day's work to do, and I couldn't even load the first page.

Best la Quinta I have been at. Perfect place if you have dogs. I don't recommend it for people without pets.

Standard hotel. Offers complementary breakfast and drinks. They allow pets for no fee which is great! The staff is very nice and was attentive. The location is good for access to Colonial Williamsburg as well as the restaurants and stores of the city.

Very nice hotel. The beds were comfortable and the parking lot was very well lit. The staff was very friendly and they are very pet friendly. The hotel is a little on the older side so if you want a 5 star hotel with all the bells and whistles than this place is not for you. If your looking for a safe place to stay with a friendly staff and a good breakfast then do not hesitate to stay here. We will definitely be staying here the next time we are in town.

It was under renovation when we were there so the bottom floors looked a little unkempt, but the room we were staying in was very nice. My biggest problem was with the lobby service. They seemed very unorganized. They woke us up with a phone call at 1 AM asking us if we were the room that had just called, evidently by our rude awakening, we weren't. They also called us 3 hours after we checked out to ask us if we checked out.

Room prices are very reasonable. Great free breakfast. Comfortable large rooms. Would recommend this hotel if you are in Williamsburg area.

Food, cereal on floor of room, toilet not bolted down, room not vacumed when we arrived, trash piled up for DAYS outside, guest take dogs into breakfast room, does seem to be a quiet time at night. People DO NOT PICK UP dogs mess (front desk needs to stress better) front desk people did not seem to care when I went to complain about room. There are other hotels for people with dogs. This was last minute. Have not been here and will NOT come again.

Next to a dilapidated creepy building and with almost no where walk your dogs. Doggy bag stations were empty so no one picked up after their dogs. Watch your step. Inside was decent if you didn't look too closely. Our toilet had a pretty bad leak so the floor was wet in there every time you used it. Location is hard to beat. Right down the road from absolutely everything. Breakfast was ok although on Monday they cleaned up all of the food before 9:45 even though breakfast is supposed to be until 10. We missed it because of this but found an amazing breakfast spot down at Manhattan Bagel. I'd say overall, because I'm not picky at all, 5/10.

We've been here since last night 12/7/17 we found that our carpet was soaked on the wall closest to the bathroom when we told the front desk they said they will check it when we check out (which one be until 12/9/17) we just found out it the toilet that's leaking… these people don't care about their hotel. Plus side breakfast was amazing! I'm changing this to a single star the maintenance man is a very sweet man and tried to take care of me the best he could and tried to get me another room. The girl at the front desk is very rude and after finally changing my room she walked to another room and started cussing loud so everyone could hear.

We stayed here with our dogs and had a wonderful experience. Room was pretty and very clean. A lot of area to walk outside. We saw other dogs going in and out but hotel was quiet. Nice breakfast too.

Great breakfast. Clean and renovated about two yrs ago. Great hotel to bring the pets with a large rear parking lot for excercise and lots of smells next to woods.

Very nice, clean and quiet. Very good price for quality. Staff was friendly and attentive. Rooms are average and nothing out of the ordinary. 32" TVs, free Wi-Fi, small microwave and mini fridge. Beds were relatively comfortable however pillows seemed to be on the small side. Continental breakfast is typical of hotel breakfast. Large seating area and very clean and organized. Hotel location appears to be in a good quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking for hotel guests. Small convenience store, (7-11 at time of review) next door to hotel with gas pumps.

We always stay at LQ because they are dog friendly and we travel with a dog. This hotel is nice and the staff are friendly. This was our 3rd annual stay here and we never had an issue before this trip. Being a dog friendly hotel we understand that not all dogs are the best behaved however during the week stay we had the occasions of dogs battling so little to cause a disturbance. The staff said they would attempt to reach the owners of the dog and in time the issue was addressed. Secondly I have stayed at a hotel where staff were welcomed to the breakfast bar in the morning. Again on the occasions I had housekeeping staff that muscled thier way in front of guests to get the last bacon or eggs. It was extremely surprising and that portion of staff were extremely rude. Overall we always enjoy our time and don't let little things like this bother us. The pool looked inviting but we were so busy we never used it. Walking a dog at night is a little creepy behind the hotel it's really dark and wooded behind the hotel.

Walked in to see front desk girl sitting in the floor against the wall eating chips on her cell phone. Got checked in and walked into a room that had a strong smell of pet urine. "Not a big deal I'll just get a different room". They gave us the joined room so it smelled the same. So they gave us another room and it was good. Next morning we get woke up by the sound of a card tapping on the door. When I asked about it the girl said "oh it's probably cause we didn't get the room switched over last night so they were coming in to clean". NEVER EVEN APOLOGIZED! Not to mention there was a ceiling tile half covered in black mold in the hall way. Didn't live up to the last La Quinta I stayed in by any stretch.

Had a good stay here with the family. The pictures make the building look newer than it really is. But the staff was friendly and the free breakfast was good! We would stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful! The accessibility to the attractions is great, but the customer service leaves room for improvement. My lady and I have stayed at this establishment 2 times and have had issues with either the booking of the rooms, the lack of sharing important information regarding things like checking in, or housekeeping knocking on the door 3 hours before checkout. Not sure if anyone else has had these issues, but be on your toes if you choose to stay here.

I loved that this hotel was pet friendly yet clean and didn't charge exhorbitant fees for pets (actually pets were free). Breakfast was included and they offered a huge variety from eggs and cereal to sausage and biscuits. Unfortunately, as expected, breakfast time was a little too packed for my liking, though. They also had a very nice looking outside pool, although we never actually used it. It's a nice place in comparison to costs of other pet friendly hotels. The only real downfall for me was that we had our two kids and wanted a suite with a separate room so we had privacy, but that wasn't an option, which meant we had to take a room with 2 queen beds. Overall, I'd still use them again if we brought our two puppies.

I have been back to this hotel at least 5 times and will continue to go back (next visit is this weekend! ). We love it because the price is reasonable, it is safe and clean, and our dog stays free (she acts like a princess the whole time we're there and absolutely loves it! ). Now this is nothing fancy or anything, but definitely meets my expectations for what we need when we want to visit Busch Gardens. Though we live in Virginia, we like to spend the weekend down here and enjoy being able to go back to the room after a long day at the park rather than traveling down I95 traffic! Breakfast — it is continental and nothing too special, but it's free! We usually just get some yogurt and cereal and we are set (not big breakfast people) Dog friendly — I have a 60 lb pit bull and have no issues bringing her here (or any La Quinta). This location has a large amount of grassy areas nearby that are ideal for walking your dog. Close to tourist attractions — Not too far of a drive from Colonial Williamsburg or Busch Gardens! Overall, great hotel and I recommend it to anyone traveling to this area.

Really nice hotel, surprised it was a La Quinta when we pulled up. Room was very nice, clean, plenty of towels and a nice clean comfy bed. Location was great so close to a lot of history. Highly recommended.

Location is convenient for Williamsburg travelers. Building is pleasant and clean. Staff is nice and prepared to help you. Only problem I had is with an ugly brown spot on the ceiling in the hallway right outside our room.

Booked a room here because La Quinta has the best pet policy of all hotel chains. This one has a modern looking lobby, and the rooms are decently equipped. I stayed for 2 nights and had no issues. Breakfast had some variety and wasn't too crowded, even on the weekend. I'd stay here again.

Nice hotel, clean rooms but Wi-Fi not working at all during our stay and there seemed to be no effort to correct it. I even contacted the hotel's tech support and they said there was no estimated time on restoration. Too bad, other than that, it was a nice hotel.

Good location, clean rooms, and decent free breakfast. Nice place for the price. Be aware that it's a pet friendly location when booking and not all rooms include a fridge and microwave.

Standard rooms, no microwave or mini fridge. Comfortable beds with plenty of pillows, so-so blankets, air works though so you stay warm anyways. Passable waffles for breakfast, excellent biscuits and gravy. Would prefer if breakfast hours were posted, we were misinformed and missed the first day. 6:30-9:00

The room was clean and comfortable, however we had to ask for enough towels for our family multiple times. The continental breakfast was sparse compared to some others as well.

Nicely decorated rooms, cleanliness was top of the line and the service was exceptional! The housekeeping is super kind and helpful in always giving extra. Very pet friendly too! Had a great stay here.

I stay here every time I come to Williamsburg.

Room was very clean and close to downtown. Hotel is pet friendly which made the trip even better because we could bring our dog.

Clean, quick service, breakfast was decent for continental.

Great place to stay. Staff is great! Pet friendly and good prices. We stayed here for 5 nights and our room was cleaned every day by the cleaning staff. We were able to eat breakfast here every morning and use the computer to print papers we need.

It was pretty good overall, except for an issue with the wall socket (it was broken), and the vending machine downstairs that served bottled drinks would not take dollars. The TV worked really good overall with no issues, although there was not a pamphlet in the bedside table, as in other hotels, that showed the channel list, so I had to scan through the channels. The service was very good, as the maids, as I call them, did the covers and towels with great care. The breakfast was extremely good, and there was a woman there who helped the people who didn't know how to operate the waffle maker, but the sausages near the back of the heater were very dry and bad.

We checked in earlier this afternoon, so I cannot account for the breakfast buffet yet. The front desk staff has been friendly and the $42 a night was very reasonable, however, the TV is pretty grainy (cable connectivity issues? The front desk girl wasn't sure, came to check it, and called in for maintenance to come take a look in the morning), the beds are very springy and are only double beds. Granted, the booking on expedia said that, but I missed it. I didn't know hotels offered two double beds. There isn't a microwave or a fridge but otherwise everything seems ok. There's free coffee and tea 24/7 by the elevator, everything is relatively clean, and the tvs have been updated since the hotel photos I saw. Lastly, don't plan on using much internet. Our Roku won't stream, my phone won't stay connected to the Wi-Fi, and the laptop will barely keep an connection. We will be looking at other hotels in the area next time we visit, or springing another 15 or 20 bucks a night for something nicer.

So here's the deal: I paid an average of $60 bucks a night for a Friday/Saturday stay during Homecoming weekend at W&M. This hotel falls in a weird middle category of not being a super cheapo place (a la Econo Lodge, Rodeway Inn, Motel 6, Red Roof, etc. ) but not on the same level as a full Comfort Inn/Hampton Inn/Fairfield Inn/Courtyard/etc. ; you should tailor your expectations accordingly. I was comfortable, the grounds/building/room were clean, the staff were friendly, the bed was fine, the shower was good, and the room a decent size. It wasn't a luxurious $100+ a night place, but it wasn't run down and shabby. Maybe they've done improvements since some of the other reviews I've seen of this place, but I disagree with most of them and would have no problem staying here again.

This place has everything broken and unmanaged. Internet down. Pool not cleaned in a month. Management will give u a tech support number for u to call.

The staff were okay but the hotel was very very run down. The room had a terrible musty, urine-like odor. No mini fridge or microwave in the rooms. No air conditioning running in the common areas. Half of the ice machines were out of order. We would have cancelled and gone somewhere else but we booked as part of a Williamsburg/Busch Gardens package so we couldn't do anything about it. We ended up leaving a day early so we didn't have to endure another night. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay there again. You get what you pay for.

The rooms were musty smelling and humid, the bathrooms were tiny with no ventilation. The staff was friendly but didn't do much about our problems. The breakfast wasn't incredible but it fed us. It wasn't the best choice, I'd consider paying extra for a better hotel.
