S/O TO Comfort Inn Williamsburg Gateway for keeping things real historical 🧐 The room that I was assigned After booking my trip via Priceline and having my room reserved must’ve been too in the front to be so black. 🙃 As I was waiting to be serviced, I overheard the guests in front of me being helped. I noticed that the people on the left, two black women, were directed to park in the very back of the hotel and go in through the door in the back. The white man to the right was instructed to go up the stairs in front of us (in the lobby) 🧐 Now it was my turn. As the manager is processing my order, he suggests that I get another room than what was originally offered to me. Gave me some BS about ajoining rooms and such. I noticed that something was off when he started his pitch, “We also have more rooms in the back. ”🤨 As I went searching for my room, I noticed that the number that was assigned to me was not on the floor where it should be assigned. I called the front desk to get help locating my room. … these people tried to put me in the BACK OF THE BASEMENT… 🙃 CANCEL MY RESERVATION AND GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK.

Very good for a two star hotel. Rooms were clean, staff was nice and helpful. Free breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. About ten minutes from Busch Gardens. Wifi is a bit slow but with poor Verizon reception it came in handy. Would stay here again.

Upon arrival to the hotel, we were greeted warmly. The check in process was quick and smooth. The hotel appears to be new throughout and the rooms are clean and modern and comfortable. Breakfast includes hot items such as sausage and eggs with a few waffle makers. There were also bagels, cereal, fruit. There was a fair selection to choose from. The breakfast area was clean and with ample seating. We've been to the Williamsburg area multiple times and we'll be back and would definitely stay at the Comfort In Williamsburg Gateway again.

Good clean room with refrigerator and freezer. Room also had microwave. AC was good and had a constant fan mode which is nice if you like white noise when sleeping. Overall great stay.

More of a 3.5 star review than a 3 and more of my disdain is geared towards the marketing of Williamsburg and their package deal descriptions, but I just can't round up to the 4. You get what you pay for I suppose. We stayed here as it was one of the hotels that the Busch Gardens/Williamsburg package deals suggest. It had decent reviews and the price was right so we went with it. DO NOT ACCEPT the description given that it's "just a walk away from Colonial Williamsburg". Um… no. It's just over a mile away from Colonial Williamsburg. And, while that seems walkable… you have to factor in the amount of walking you will do at the historic site and the walk back. There are no shuttles from this hotel. It's about a 15 minute drive to Busch Gardens and Water Country. Plan on a little bit longer ride if you go in the morning as traffic on 64 is ridiculous. There are alternate routes but they're just as long time wise. As for the hotel itself, the staff at the front desk seemed like they hated their job when we arrived. No smiles. No welcome. We had to approach them and initiate the conversation. The room itself was clean, the beds were comfortable and the housekeeping staff were friendly and did a good job. The A/C fan made a racket all night. The continental breakfast was pretty good — wide selection. However, the way it is set up when mixed with the large breakfast crowd makes for long lines and mass confusion (kind of like you were at the parks already!

We had a good night stay. The pool was open until 10pm which was awesome. The fitness center was very small and pretty much only could fit 2 people. The continental breakfast was small but your basic variety.

Very clean and comfortable. Staff is extremely professional and very accommodating. Breakfast left a little too be desired but hey, it's free.

When we initially arrived I was impressed with the lobby and room. It appeared clean, well kept. It wasn’t until I started really looking that I noticed grime in the shower tub and tile. Then as it was bedtime I pulled the sheets back and found dirty linen. The top blanket had what appeared to be urine stains and the fitted sheet and top sheet had coffe stains (I know it was coffee because I could smell it). It was obvious that housekeeping had just made the bed up and left the dirty sheets on the bed. Obviously I stripped the bed and called the front desk. I felt bad for the man working the front because he was getting worked over by several customer and he was trying very hard to please everyone. He brought me fresh linens as quickly as he possibly could and apologized profusely. This wasn’t his fault and I applaud his professionalism. I will say we won’t be staying there again. If I’m paying 200+ dollars a night for a room I expect a clean bed at the least. After all the great reviews I was very disappointed in this hotel. I recommend the supervisor applaud the front desk man for busting his butt and hire someone on the weekends to help him out. And crack down on housekeeping because they missed the mark majorly.

The rooms are modern with newer luxuries. The pool is of average size and has a salt water filter which is great for children. The location is convenient to anything near williamsburg as well as the beach.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in Williamsburg. When we arrived we were checked in by Ron. He was very helpful, knowledgeable about the area and upon learning we were celebrating our anniversary, he upgraded our accommodations. The suite was VERY clean and beautifully decorated. We would definitely stay here again.

Location was near many Williamsburg attractions. Room was comfortable. Service was quick and efficient. Staff were knowledgeable about the area and helpful. Breakfast and Wi-Fi were included.

An absolutely wonderful weeks stay here! Breakfast was terrific every morning. A very clean upscale location at this Comfort Inn. Our room was excellent and we had no issues at all. Don't forget your FREE newspaper!

Clean clean clean… First Hotel I've ever been to in moderate level price range that was immaculate… Will definitely stay there again over the next few years while my daughter is at W&M.

Comfortable accommodations. Breakfast was really good. We stayed in room 206 and had to listen to the washing machines starting about 5am. This was an annoyance since we were there without our kids and were hoping to sleep late. Very friendly staff. I would stay there again but would request another room.

Rooms have an updated and modern decor. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom is small, but it is well maintained. Small fridge and microwave are a nice amenity to have. Rollaway beds are available if requested. Staff is courteous and attentive. Complimentary breakfast has good variety, when hotel is full though it takes a while for staff to restock breakfast items. A minor inconvenience are the stairs that lead up to second floor rooms are a bit steep and may be difficult for small children or older individuals. Would definitely stay again if the same discounted rate is available.

Rooms are a little on the small side, updated and very clean. Beds were comfy and nice. Walls are rather thin and sounds from other rooms come through pretty easily. The hot water ran out in the morning before we left, and it was only just bearably warm enough to shower, not very comfortable. Bathroom was also on the small side, definitely only one person inside at a time. Free breakfast buffet is typical, but there are 2 waffle makers which cuts down the wait for those which are usually much in demand.

My family and I come to Williamsburg every fall for a lacrosse tournament. We've stayed at a different hotel each time. I admit that I was a bit hesitant about the hotel, given the extremely reasonable nightly rate. I was however, pleasantly surprised! The hotel property is very well taken care of. The lobby area and rooms are very clean. They have a nice little office station, larger breakfast lounge and workout room (free continental breakfast & Wi-Fi! ). Most importantly, the concierge was very professional and polite. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because there isn't an indoor pool (kids always ask for a hotel with a pool). I would definitely stay here again and recommend!

Make sure you re-think the idea in your head of what a Comfort Inn looks like because this location will defy those preconceived notions! You'll first notice this difference when you walk into the lobby for check-in. It's beautifully decorated and modern and gave you a luxury resort feel. The bedrooms were also incredible! The furnishings were up to date and beautiful. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and bright (though the lighting didn't do much for my complexion! ). We had 4 rooms in our party and we all had large, spacious, bright corner rooms. There was ample parking and easy access to the ground floor with luggage carts to get your stuff in and out of the hotel.

This is the nicest Choice Brand hotel in Williamsburg. Great location, great staff, fantastic rooms. Stay here and you won't be disappointed.

Would have been five star except for the odd knocking sounds. Seemed like it was coming from outside but realized we were next to the storage room. Other than that place was very comfortable, new and clean. Actually probably the best comfort inn I ever stayed in.

Great service with reasonable price. Excellent staff from front desk to house keeping. Rooms immaculately kept, you can tell that people care about you as a customer. I will continue to stay here when ever in the Williamsburg area and will pass the word on to others needing a place to stay. Thank you for the great service, it is hard to find in this day and time.

Beautiful hotel! Super clean, and plenty of space. The bed was the comfiest hotel bed I've ever slept in. The AC worked kept the room really cool. The bathroom was very clean to the point I soaked in the tub, with no worry. The staff was really nice, and house keeping was very efficient. Even the little shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing. Loved this hotel highly reccomend.

I don't know what else to say except for an amazing experience. The rooms were modern and CLEAN. The pool was really nice. We only paid $75/night for an amazing room. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel whenever we are in the Williamsburg Area!

My wife and I stay here every time we visit Williamsburg (2-3 times a year), and have never had a complaint. Always clean and relaxing. And all the staff are friendly and hospitable. I highly recommend staying here, and it's conveniently located to everything Williamsburg has to offer.

It is a very nice hotel, clean and staff very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that there was a girls soccer tournament going on so there were teenage girls running and screaming thru the halls late into the night. Plus I am handicap and they put me on the third floor and half way down the hall. So to get to breakfast I had to go half way down the hallway on the third floor take the elevator to first floor then go all the way thru the hotel to get to breakfast or to the front desk. Plus I had to do that from 11pm to 7am, cause the back door was locked. So they are not handicap friendly even tho you tell them that when making reservations and you walk in using a walker.

We are currently in the middle of our stay. The suite we have is very spacious and clean with a modern, updated look. Beds are comfortable and so are the pillows (and I am picky about pillows! ). Bathroom is very clean. We had one lamp that blew a bulb as we turned it on, and we mentioned it to the desk attendant. The bulb had been replaced when we got back to our room that evening. I mention that because I've been at hotels where even when there was an issue we've complained about several times, it was never fixed. We plan are being here a few more days and so are are quite pleased with everything. Very convenient to Jamestown and Busch Gardens, and just minutes away from Colonial Williamsburg.

Newly-renovated throughout. Clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, etc. More than one would expect in a tourist hotel/motel. We will definitely use this facility on more trips south. The "continental" breakfast (included) was WAY MORE than that. Three hot dishes plus a waffle-maker. Go for it!

This was a nice place as far as budget hotels go. The property itself was clean and fairly recently renovated it appeared. There is a breakfast buffet which is usually busy and the staff weren't particularly speedy at refilling items but the food was edible. The location is extremely convenient for downtown Williamsburg if you have a car and just a short drive to the other main area attractions.

We have stayed at the hotel several times this year and each time has been pleasant. The hotel has recently been remodeled and it is clean and very comfortable and relaxing. I found the Comfort Inn Williamsburg Gateway on! one. I called and made a reservation for 2 rooms and was able to get a government rate. The foyer was beautifully decorated. Each time I called, the clerk was kind and helpful. The rooms are freshly styled, bright and clean. The dinning room where the deluxe continental breakfast was served is lovely and inviting. Breakfast was very good, there were choices for everyone. Great coffee, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, bacon, eggs and waffles! The beds were clean and comfortable. We were only 10 minutes from Busy Gardens which made it all the more convenient. We would stay there again.

I must say its a very clean and nicely remodeled hotel, we were placed here for a timeshare resort meeting and didn't have a pick in hotels so for that I'm extremely happy with the cleanliness and updated feel, beds were soooo comfy and for the price you CAN NOT beat it! So close to all attractions.

Just completed a 5 day stay. Hotel has been remodeled, very clean, staff is friendly. Breakfast included. I would recommend this hotel to others but like to give a clear idea of what your getting for your $ in my pros and cons area below. PROS: Prime location. 12-15 min from Water Country and Busch Gardens. Premium outlets near by. Tons of food selections in the area. Pool was clean. Rooms decent. Cleaned daily. Very comfortable beds. CONS: Had to ask for towels to be replaced in the rooms twice. Always found myself having to ask housekeeping for towels as the same with toilet tissue. Breakfast unfortunately should say first come first serve. If you go in the later part of breakfast hours you wont find much left to eat. Wifi password changes are not left in the room as in other hotels. You have to go up and ask for it. Pool towels never replaced. One they run out I would bring my own. Not enough seating by pool area. At times my daughters and I wanted to go and relax by the pool but there were only 4 lounge chairs and several other table chairs but always taken. I will say im extremely paranoid about bedbugs because I've had so many horrible experiences and did wake up with several bites on 3 of the 5 nights but I can not say for sure that it was from that. I inspected mattress, walls, etc and found nothing. Therefore could have been a mosquito or two that slipped in the room. The cons are definitely not major issues for me but for some may not work.
