Not a place I would ever recommend going as a family especially this time of the year. Unless you want nothing to do because everything is either closed or unavailable. Rooms are very small. We are a family of 4 and the room was very cramped with only double sized beds. Felt like it was more of a retirement community than a family resort.

Kingsmill is a great resort for families and to get away! There are a plethora of activities good for kids and couples as well. Plus with a more “laid back” atmosphere you don’t have to sorry about unnecessary intrusions and can truly get away. Also with all the rooms having a deck you can enjoy the beautiful scenic views of nature. (Pay a little extra and get an amazing view of the James River)

The Golf courses there are one of the best I've ever played.

Quite possibly the worse experience I have been a part of. Stay away unless you like being lied too and treated like crap. Way to ruin a great experience Kingsmill. Beyond disappointed in your timeshare team you should be ashamed of yourselves.

The resort is amazing, but if you decide to book with an owner and not the actual resort, the guards are not friendly at all.

We got married at Kingsmill Resort and it was the most amazing day! The resort staff really worked with us to make sure we were able to postpone and still have the best wedding day. They put so many procedures into place to help with distancing. Our room was large and on the river, we had a great view and time. The wedding staff, I cannot say enough good things about them.
Jessica really made my vision come to life and helped create the best day.

Stayed here the weekend of our wedding in 2018 and everything was phenomenal, clean and decently priced. And the staff are so friendly! We used many of the amenities like the spa and on site restaurants. Went back the weekend of our anniversary in 2019 and found out they upgraded us to a condo and Greg even remembered us from our stay the year before! 10 out of 10 HIGHLY recommend you stay here if you have the opportunity. The Kingsmill definitely made us feel like royalty and secured their establishment will be where we choose to "honeymoon" each anniversary!

Just checked in today. Beautiful area with shuttle service for Busch Gardens. Condo is great and very homey. This is a very lovely setting for a quick Christmas trip. Highly recommend and will definitely come back.

First of all the place is absolutely beautiful & well kept! Every employee had a great attitude & were very welcoming, the front desk was professional & very accommodating not to mention friendly too. Our stay was so relaxing & the rooms were spacious & clean, the shuttle to Busch Gardens made it easy to visit & the drivers were personable, I highly recommend anyone to consider Kingsmill Resort first for a vacation or a long weekend visit! 5☆'s, 2 thumbs up & 10 out of 10 for a great time to make memories that last a lifetime!

I had a family member visit Kingsmill the weekend of October 25th-27th. They were harassed by the staff and police. Its sad that you pay good money to support establishments and get treated poorly, because you are black.

Fantastic resort for everyone. Kid friendly but great for a romantic getaway. The spa is just wonderful (had a facial and massage) using high end natural products. Ate at 3 of the restaurants all the food and service were exceptional. Will definitely be coming back again.

The course was in great shape. Were scheduled to play the River Course but they aerated the greens after last week's LPGA tournament. Played the Plantation Course.

Wildlife Galore.

Great golf courses. Good food, near many historical sites, amusement parks and beaches.

Played the River Course. Enjoyable layout with some nice holes. Greens were in great shape. The rest of the course was generally in nice shape but had some spots that were being repaired after the colder than usual winter.

An amazing place. The view of the river was very relaxing. The only thing I think needs revision is the menus at the restaurants — from my vegetarian view point. The cafe for the pool had poor options, and the one vegetarian option at the "fancy" dinner place was the "token veggie option" — not exciting or unique at all, and absolutely not worth the 30.00 price — laughable. But everything else there was wonderful, so still 5 stars. Just maybe skip the food. There are plenty of places to go outside the resort.

Kingsmill Resort is a very beautiful Hotel resort. The view over the bay is fantastic. Many tennis courts, championship golf course and three swimming pools. An open marina restaurant invites you to have lunch or dinner. Right beside the marina is a small beach. All three historic towns like Jamestown, Williamsburg, Yorktown are located very close to the resort. Beautiful.

We absolutely Love it here. A great vacation spot that you can relax and enjoy yourself. The shuttles and golf cart transportation around the Resort and to Busch Gardens is key! The amenities and activities are super clean, top notch and NOT overly crowded. My husband loves the golf course. It is a Resort, not just hotel or theme park attraction like the Disney hotels. One of our favorite places to relax.

I was at KMR for a family reunion on June 20-22, 2018. My room was fantastic: a table that seats six, comfy couch, fireplace, full kitchen with silverware, pots/pans, and a dishwasher, balcony overlooking the golf course, washer dryer… it was amazing. I loved the vistas and the quietness of the place. Friendly, helpful staff.

Beautiful grounds and great service (every staff member at Kingsmill was very pleasant). Our room was wonderful. Clean, bright, cool, and had a terrific view from the balcony. Elements 1010 restaurant was excellent (server seemed new and didn't anticipate our wants well — like keeping the coffee cups full and bringing an extra plate since we were sharing the breakfast) but she was pleasant. Wouldn't recommend the short rib hash. Kind of dry. Outdoor seating was nice. The pool and lazy river we're cool and refreshing and the servers on the deck hussled to take care of everyone. All in all a great experience at Kingsmill Resort. We'll be back.

What a wonderful place to live! I was visiting a friend who lives in the community and had a lovely visit. We ate lunch at the golf club where we sat outside right on the gold course. It was a hot day but there was a nice cooling breeze. Our service was great. Our server was friendly and very patient as it took us a long time to review the menu as we were catching up and couldn't stop talking. We followed up out lunch at one of the many community pools. The one we visited was right down on the water, the James River. It had a awesome slide for kids and a lazy river, which I thoroughly enjoyed for an hour. What a beautiful place to live or visit!

Loved this place entirely! The environment is unique and relaxing. The staff were very helpful and kind. All the amenities you could imagine, this felt like a home away from home. We will definitely be back.

When I went to this place, it was one of the best vacations I have went to! There are so many things to do! When we stayed there, the rooms were gorgeous and everything was just amazing there. I totally recommend going here. It is amazing.

Any and all staff was caring and helpful. A few services such as calling for transportation was a bit iffy, but did not ruin or diminish our overall experience. Most areas and rooms were clean (although our room had a wierd smell). Overall, a good experience for a weekend stay!

Visited with my sisters for Mother’s Day weekend. The front desk and concierge staff were very pleasant. Other guests were pleasant and welcoming. However, it only takes one to ruin everything. The manager and staff at the “Grille “ restaurant were rude, evasive and downright racist. Being the only African American group there that night — we were the last to be seated and last to be served. Wouldn’t have been so obvious, if staff hadn’t tried so hard to avoid us. Guess what? It’s 2018 and I will not spend my money at facilities that continue to practice 1860 policies. I’m very disappointed as I had visited this location @ 10 years ago and had a very pleasant experience. Too bad they’ve regressed. The one star I had to give is one too many.

My husband and I got married here. It holds a very special place in my heart and we have been back every year for our anniversary. Beautiful place and the staff really go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of.

Beautiful rooms! Spacious, clean, and every room provides the essential amenities. There is a lot to do on property for the whole family. A great place to spend a quick weekend or an extended stay. The on property restrants offer quality dinning, and are family friendly.

We got a room, that's was supposed to be river facing but ended up looking at a construction fence and a port-a-john. Staff was friendly and the food was good if priced like a higher scale resort. All in all just feels a little old and costs more than it's worth.

We spent three nights at this resort while we toured the Colonial Triangle. This was a stunningly beautiful resort with wonderful amenities. The condo we rented was amazingly comfortable and clean. There are many good restaurants on site and full room service. At $199/night the condo was an amazing deal. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay here again. Service and amenities were amazing.

Decor seems dated and dark, mainly the carpets. James river room A was too warm. The bathroom was great and the staff in the bathroom was polite and kept it organized. The lunch with rye bread seemed stale. Didn't feel it was sanitary with the food out on tables and everyone walking around picking seats and talking over the food.

We have been to Kingsmill several times over the years and recently I visit in March to play golf with my son during his Spring Break. The staff here is stellar to say the least but when I had a dead battery and I contacted the front desk, they said they would send maintenance. To our surprise a girl named Audrey showed up in her personal vehicle to help and had the jumpers. She was pleasant, humorous and just plain out fantastic. Maintenance couldn’t get there right away so… she jumped in to get it done Audrey, I don’t know your last name and all I know is that you where from France but thank you again and because of you and the rest of the Kingsmill Staff this reviewer will continue his yearly pilgrimage to Kingsmill. Customer service is phenomenal. Lindsay, Associate in charge of seating for comedy show was very helpful and accommodating. The comedy show was a blast! Clean fun jokes are hard to come by, for sure! Breakfast included variety of hot prepared food. We will definitely return next year!

One of my favorite places! It had a lot of tennis courts (around 15) and they are very nice and well maintained! The food is delicious, the pool is relaxing and fun, and the view of the James River is Great! Would highly recommend to tennis players, golfers, or families or couples looking to relax for a few days.

Room and service was good. Went out of season, so not much to do at the resort with the kids. Would have been much better if I played golf.

Location was beautiful. The staff were accommodating and very professional. The resort held our conference even though the area had around 8 inches of snow two days prior.

My husband and I absolutely love this place! It really truly is a home away from home. We are able to come into our one bedroom condo and completely relax with all the comforts of home and without any of the responsibilities. We love the full service kitchen which allows us to cook, one of our favorite activities :) But, on the other hand, we are able to enjoy one of the many restaurants if we don't feel like cooking. There is absolutely no reason to leave the resort unless you really want to. Has everything that you would want or need here. The only complaint is that the water is not hot enough. I like my showers hot and it helps to be able to wash the dishes and cookware in the kitchen a little easier. Even with out that said, this is truly a sanctuary for us and we'll surely be back again for years to come!

Beautiful place to spend some quality time with your family in Williamsburg, Virginia. I love it. I didn't realise until now that we had such a wonderful resort less than 2 hours from home. Great services. The rooms are just top class. The personnel was outstanding when we checked in. We had a last minute room change and we were rapidly accommodated to another one within an hour.

Enjoyed a fabulous one-night getaway with my husband for our anniversary. Accommodations were superb and staff all went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We enjoyed snacks and coffee at the Mill, and an exquisite dinner at elements, as well as a wonderful Spa experience during our visit. Highly recommended!

Literally nothing negative to say about this place. Our room was nice, we could shuttle over to Busch Gardens and any restaurants we're a short drive away. Our stay included complimentary breakfast which was delicious. They even had a selection of gluten free bread and pastries that my husband liked. I'd recommend Kingsmill to anyone.

My wife and I have been coming here for over 10 years. The resort is great and surroundings are peaceful and relaxing. Absolutely love the friendly staff and amenities. A great weekend getaway for the family.

This is a great and unique location just a few miles from Busch gardens and Kings Dominion. Plenty of shopping, restaurants in the area. The resort would be awesome in the spring and summer. So much to do without leaving the property and so many priceless photo opportunities overlooking the James River.

Although the facility is very nice, it's not good if you arrive late. I pulled in at 9.45pm and checked in, asking about food service the front desk gave me my options. I headed to the bar and inquired about getting the menu, the bartender said he come right back. When he returned I asked to place an order, he told me that kitchen closed at 10:00 and I missed it by 4 minutes and I could not get any food. He suggested that I utilize room service, after I drove to my room I called room service, at 10:30 at night it was a 60 to 80 minute wait for food delivery. In addition, all the parking spaces were taken and had to walk a quarter mile to my room in the rain. For the amount of money you're paying stay at a Marriott for half the cost, better service.

Although short, had an absolutely wonderful stay here. At the restaurant, had a delicious surf-n-turf burger, with Angus beef & crab. For breakfast, you have all sorts of options from Continental to American. And there's a great omelette bar.

This place was awesome we had a room right on the river with an awesome view. We ate and had drinks at Eagles and the restaurant at the marina both where great. We will definitely go back.

The location is great; I could sit on the back porch of my room and look out over the water. The customer service was absolutely impeccable, personal attention and a swift response to even the most minor requests. Rooms though… My room felt like a slightly upscale version of a motel 6. The view was spectacular, but nothing about the room itself was noteworthy on the positive side… As to negatives: the standard size beds were too small for a couple to share, there was no microwave or fan, and there were spiders both inside and out. If you're a professional running a conference or just really into golf this might be the place for you, but if you're traveling as a family I'd recommend going to Great Wolf Lodge instead.

My wife and I came down for a few days to get away from the city. Nice and quiet the rooms are a little dated and some repairs are need. Our balcony doors was challenging to open. Rooms was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We was satisfied. The service is excellent tons of things to do great restaurants and if you don't want to eat there this plenty of restaurants nearby Golf Course swimming pool Lazy River bike riding you name it great place for relaxing. We will return. And even had a gas station across the road so when time go we gas up. The best feelings ever don't have to search for a gas station. Kingsmill Resort thank you for a Stress-free trip I can still feel the Breeze coming off the water as the sun set!

Kingsmill Resort country club is a nice place. Not too stodgey but not ultra modern either. The staff was extremely friendly and professional which was a treat. It was really nice to see a truly diverse mix of people at the club as well. You don't have to play golf to be a member as they have social memberships that allow use of the clubhouse. The grounds are exquisite and it is located pretty much next door to Busch Gardens so it's convenient.

We really enjoyed our stay in this resort. We have a less than two years old toddler and wanted to find a place where we would all have fun. The reason we chose Kingsmill Resort is because they have a big lazy river pool. Our toddler had so much fun there and it was truly worth it to watch him enjoying himself. (We brought our own swimming tube for him since he is too small to use the regular sized swimming tubes the resort provides). We stayed three nights here and didn't leave the resort the entire time. The staff is very friendly, the room was very clean, and the view was beautiful. Just walking around the resort area was relaxing. The breakfast they offered in their main restaurant was good as they provided many different fruits and pastries. For dinner, we went to their seafood restaurant twice because of the nice view. I did have one massage session which made me very happy. Since I am a working mom, it was such a relief to take a break and just be relaxed. Overall, we are very happy we chose the resort and will definitely come back.

Rooms were clean but lots of bugs. Golf course was in good condition but expected better quality. The price was good though so can't complain. Would highly recommend to friends.

This resort is absolutely above and beyond in every aspect. We stayed in the river view condo in February with incredible views of the James River. The rooms are very spacious, clean and recently updated. All of the resort restaurants are great with impeccable service and pay close attention to detail. The resort has three golf courses. All of them are in great shape especially the River Course which is a must play bucket list course. My wife and I utilized the shuttle service to navigate throughout the resort. All of the drivers were very friendly and prompt. If you plan to visit Williamsburg in the near future I certainly recommend Kingsmill! I will find it very hard to stay anywhere else and will certainly return this summer with the family.

Even for a non golfer, this is a wonderful resort. Very relaxing. Rooms are nice a spacious. Plenty of on property amenities including a spa, gym, and tennis club (golf too… Duh).

We have come here every year since 2012, always at the end of the year when Holiday celebrations are in full swing. Kingsmill is perfectly located for both Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. They offer a free shuttle service to both if you don't feel like driving over. The rooms are what make this place special. We've always gone for the 1 bedroom suites, but in reality, they are pretty much fully furnished apartments. They are generally very spacious and well maintained. The river view is worth it if you get the option. Some of the buildings are a bit of a walk from the restaurants and fitness center (with a great indoor pool). The rooms have real fireplaces and you can get them lit by housekeeping for some cozy evenings.

The service was excellent! We were accommodated near our friend's condo and received excellent service from the concierge. Our room was extremely comfortable, spacious, and clean. We will definitely be returning in the future!

We stayed on one of the cottages and it was lovely. The view was amazing. There were some weird electrical issues and the hot water in the tub was luke warm but overall a wonderful evening.

Everything is good here. Resort area. A huge area. Restaurants. A fitness room. The rooms are clean, spacious (only downside is can be heard from the upstairs neighbors).

Although the resort seems to be a great one to visit if you are looking for a local get away, do not expect 5 star resort you've seen in Mexico. However, the overall experience has exceeded our expectations and provided a secluded environment where we felt relaxed. To me, the most important part of the resort is really the pool and the lounge/room area since we spend most of our time at the pool with the kids. As a mom, it's also very nice to have an indoor pool and a game room in case it rains and this place has all of that. Although the pool was small in comparison to other resorts I have been to, the quality of food, the lazy river pool, indoor pool and the night time dj makes up for it. The one bedroom suit was very spacious for 4 people family and was clean with kieurig machine provided. The bfast buffet was reasonably priced and good. Although everything is spread out and we needed to take the shuttle or walk a good distance to get to anywhere, it had a nice view of the river and access to marina once you got to the main lobby building. If you plan to stay there, you should look at their map and really understand how far your room is to the main lobby building so you are not surprised by the distance you have travel/walk to the amenities when you arrive.

My husband and I will be relocating to the Williamsburg area in two months, and friends of ours recommended a membership at Kingsmill so that my husband might have someplace truly spectacular to entertain clients. Last week our friends invited us to join them for dinner on property. It was the single most traumatic dining experience of our lives. Last Wednesday, August 19th, we joined another couple at James Landing Grille for dinner. We were impressed by the lovely Kingsmill property and the panoramic views of the river. But things took an unexpected and unacceptable turn for the worst. Our server was a young woman named Honey. When she first approached us she was quite warm and pleasant. But her behavior became so erratic as our drinks and dinner progressed that I have to question if she might have been drinking or doing drugs during her shift. I spent a fair amount of time in the food and beverage industry myself, before I "married up"… and I understand that restaurant people can be a bit vulgur. But in my day those who worked in fine dining establishments were at least able to maintain an air of polish while serving customers. Honey was visibly texting on her cell phone while she should have been taking care of customers (I expect this at Applebees, NOT at a 4-Diamond resort). She became very flippant with us, using a couple of racial slurs. And the worst of it all was when she began to flirt openly with my husband in front of myself and our friends.

Wayne, the GM is super nice. We had some issues but he very quickly corrected them for us.

The river pool is amazing. Bring your own cooler of beer, or order drinks at the bar. Float on the lazy river. Customer service is impeccable. Great job staff. The beds are very comfortable. The shuttle service is great. Simply dial front desk, tell them where you want to go on the property and they will send a bus or golf cart to transport you there. Again, staff is super friendly and accompanying. Air conditioning worked great. Cons: Although the resort is kid friendly, the rooms arent. For some reason, everything is high. My kids are 3 and 4 and they can get in/off the toilet with no problem. These toilets are high and they needed a stool to get on. The beds too. Very high beds. No fridges in the rooms. Luckily we read the reviews before coming and brought a cooler. There is a place to get ice a building away. No lightening! The room had 3 lights. Light over the bed (for reading) and a table lamp between the beds and a light by the bathroom. No overhead light or lamp by the front door, closet, or anywhere else. It made packing to leave when it was overcast very difficult. Glad my iphone has a flashlight. We didnt get one of the expensive rooms-no view, small room the furthest building (35) all of that is ok, as we didnt spend a furtune, but it seems they dont care about the outside of the building. All other buildings look clean, fresh, and the balcony railings were painted white looks nice on the outside. Our building have cobwebs everywhere. Everywhere.

I have been going to this Spa for over 10 years! what has happened to it? I am not referring to the Massage/facial, Hair and nail Techs, but the Management and people at the front desk! nothing is worse then going in to a Health spa resort and smelling food and cigarettes! When the two inappropriate dressed ladies came in from a "smoke break" that was all I could smell! They were not friendly and acting like I was bothering them to ask questions! I had asked who was the Manager was and was told her name was "Kenya" so I knew where that was going to go! what a wonderful time I had before they started Hiring Ghetto trash… me and my ladies will be moving on.

Few places are worth the money at this level. KM never disappoints. I have stayed here a dozen times and consider it the best on the east coast. Get a package that includes BG. Resort suites are great, river and others not needed.

Nice place, great food, service, value and super clean. We had just a couple issues. Three of us got food poisoning from a bad oyster dish at the main restaurant. It happens. Also, the lazy river was over chlorinated and kids had burning eyes that afternoon and evening. Wear goggles. Other than that, all was great.

A wonderful resort, with excellent facilities, a professional staff and fantastic amenities. We had a golf course view and a one bedroom suite. The suite was all updated, the bathroom and kitchen was modern and the entire suite was comfortable, cleaning an appealing. Wish we could have stayed a few more days.

I recommend this place if you go to Busch gardens. It has almost everything.

Beauty Salon at Kingsmill is a hidden secret to the Fashionista of the community. We feel upon this my accident looking for someone to cut our hair. Our family drew straws and my sister was the one to try it out. OMG, this was in the summer (2012) and she is still talking about the cut and color are fantastic. Others have seen her hair and have asked her where she got it cut and colored. Of course now my whole family goes to Kristina. She is smart, relates well to her customers, listens and creates. You will not find a better person around, but SHHHHH don't tell too many people, we many not be able to get an appoitment:) Thanks Krsitina!

Come here all the time. Great facilities tennis courts and golf courses. The restaurants are fantastic. Can't wait for the new lazy river/pool.
