We booked this hotel expecting the same great service at Weston and Marriot family hotels we’ve received in the past. The front desk staff was horrible. We checked in, then they stopped us after we got our stuff from the car, to charge us for a pet fee. I don’t mind paying a pet fee of $50, ever. I do mind not given a receipt, and then when I get to my room my credit card notified me I was charged $100. I went back down to the front and Cristella (I think that was her name) let me know I was mistaken, and that she “always lets every guest know there’s a $100 incidentals fee”. Of course I argued respectfully that she only told me $50. She said again “I’m sorry you misunderstood but I always tell the guests there’s a $100 incidental charge. ” I asked for a managers name, because I’ll call Monday and she promptly let me know that she a manager. Needless to say I’ll go straight to corporate for this. We’ve received the worst customer service of any hotel staff we’ve encountered. I won’t be back until they can train their staff better. Customers pay the bills so they should be treated a little better than being called a liar.

For some reason I always think Westins will be better than they are, but this one has really been disappointing. Got a room on the 12th (top) floor with an interior view and not one but TWO connecting doors, one right next to the bed. Through the door next to the bed I can hear EVERYTHING that the guest next door said, including his business phone calls verbatim; I heard his room service order arrive and heard him unpack it from the paper bag, and I heard his TV as clearly as I could hear mine once I turned mine off. When I went to the front desk the person there didn’t bat an eye — this seems to be a common problem that hasn’t been addressed. Need to pack my bags so that I can move to a new room tomorrow. Will update if it’s any better. At the end of the day it’s only six nights but business travel is busy enough without having to put up with this kind of thing. EDIT: Another guest arrived in the other connecting room and not only can I hear her on the phone perfectly but her boyfriend/husband who she has on speaker. This. Is. Ridiculous. And totally not private or peaceful.

If anybody is trying to find good deals on hotels visit HoteIBully. Com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere! Convenient location for weekend with kids in DC. No pool. But I am not a fan of public pools and we really had no time. But did I say, no pool? It is nice for the kids to have the option. Parking is expensive but part of the ropes for big city travel. Free museums offset the cost. Big, beautiful, clean rooms, so high marks on accommodations. Quiet and very comfortable accommodations. Very professional and friendly staff. Doorman-greeter, which is a must in high end hotels. Easy checkin and checkout. No fuss stay. Will stay again.

Pretty good hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The gym is good too. The only thing missing is that in the morning other than the one restaurant in the lobby there is just one small Starbucks which has some to-go snacks and similar stuff. But the Starbucks is also much smaller than usual and manned by one person.

Good hotel, good location, good service, just that the value of parking is very high compared to other US hotels. That we have visited, even being of equal or better category, which did not exceed 9 US per day, I think you should consider this topic.

I am planning a trip to the US in September 2018. I came across this Hotel and, given that it is a Westin (and I am a Starwood Preferred Guest), I thought I would book it (I thought that the Westin had a good reputation) through Expedia. After booking, I realised that I entered the wrong month (October instead of September). I immediately contacted Expedia who contacted the hotel. I was informed that the Hotel would not change the date and I would forfeit my money. I was horrified. It was an honest mistake and I had picked it up immediately and well in advance of my booking (4 months in advance! ). I was also willing to pay any differences in fees if there were any. I contacted Expedia again and requested that they explain the situation again to the hotel to see whether anything could be done,. I was informed that the "right person at the hotel" was not available but they would continue to try. I then received a response from Expedia saying that the hotel refused to change the dates. I then emailed the Starwood Preferred Guest customer service department who emailed the hotel manager. I have not had any response from either party. I also messaged the hotel directly and have not received any response. This is shocking customer service, and I will never stay at a Starwood hotel again, if this is the way potential guests are treated.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff at this hotel were excellent, aside from one grumpy bartender who was having a stressful day when someone left without paying a bill. The doormen were incredibly kind and helpful. Our bathroom had challenges including a cracked sink and electricity shut off in the bath on the last morning. The front desk was sympathetic and generous. My niece and nephew loved their experience.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend The Westin following my 5 night stay this month. Upon checking in, I went straight to bed as I’d flown overnight from Sydney. I was shocked and horrified to pull back the covers and see blood on the bottom sheet. This to me was clearly done by the previous guest, which means either the sheets were not changed, or if they were, they weren’t clean. Adding to this, it was in the middle of the bed, so could not have been missed by a housekeeper making the bed. This was something that put me at risk, although the Front Office Manager denied it was blood, tried to say it was tested and the results showed it was juice (not believable given the colour) but yet refused to show me the results documentation. I am currently exploring all legal options with Expedia as I was not refunded by the hotel for this experience.

Staff very friendly and room appearance was decent. However, with 2 interior doors in our room, we could hear phone conversations from both adjoining rooms. Our room (12th floor) overlooked the lobby / atrium which needs a lot of attention. When someone leaves their room, the sound of their door closing is deafening. We didn’t try the bar or breakfast options, as there’s an adjoining restaurant (The West Wing), which was delicious, convenient, and a good bargain for the amount and quality of food.

Comfortable, conveniently located, amazing amenities. Meeting rooms are large. No problems experienced. Gracious, professional staff all around.

There was a note on the door to park at the Westin, while dining at B Too. We valet parked our car. Prior to pick up, we were told the price would be $15.00. Cool not bad for 1 1/2 hour. Upon pick up the price doubled to $30.00. Ok we paid that plus a $5.00 tip. Upon calling to verify the price;the Westin rep asked me what, we were charged before telling me the normal price of valet. Suspicious, when I only asked what the price of valet. The rep placed me on hold. Came back to then tell me it was $24.00. Ok great. Your employees are stealing! Watch out for inflating prices and employees padding their pockets.

It has been a very pleasant experience to be staying in the Westin Washington DC City Center. The hot water is very stable and fast. The beddings and linens are clean and fresh. The breakfast is also very good except for the fact that it is a little bit expensive. Location wise it is also convenient to a few of the neighboring hotels which often has events as well as the convention center. I will choose to come back and stay again.

Room was hot, even after they said they fixed it. Staff blamed us when we tried to talk about issues we were having since we pulled up. Breakfast 30.00 and I had an orange juice, I made a plate and biscuits were hard as a brick. Salmon was drenched in fishy juice. Coffee was a watery joke. Then I was told to pay my check. 3 people 1 room when we booked we were supposed to have 2 beds. They said yes we will bring a roll away bed. What… wow. Food trays in hallways over 24 hours. I told staff he said yeah someone will come retrieve them. Parking was 60.00 a night next door is $35.00. You have to carry your bags you will have to park your own car. List goes on. It's a total mess. I stay at westin 5 days a month. This was the first time of lack of staffing experience. I see that managers are rude when we explained the situation they said nothing is free. That's not my position lady. Your service people have issues due to lack of management.

Very nice hotel! Stayed 5 nights, loved it! The Internet is excellent, the rooms are clean, the staff polite, the lobby has an IMAC connected to the Internet, even the room was given an adaptor for our chargers,

Great location and dog friendly! Went to dc for a few days and this was a perfect quick getaway hotel. Minutes from the white house and the monuments. But it was on a less busy street so was very quiet at night.

The location is great. Walking distance from the White House. The rooms are small, but well appointed. Large screen tv, easy chair, desk chair and comfortable bed to name a few. I don't do room service, so no information there.

First time I ve ever stayed in this chain. Mind you, I'm a travel agent one would most definitely recommend all my future client's to book with this franchise. Great service and staff members where outstanding on the area as well.

I stayed here on a business trip. For the expense Pleasssseee get some better food. Your breakfast was horrible and 20 buck for 2 pancakes that was spongy. My breakfast was 50 bucks. Worse food ever. The room was nice and the valet people were nice.

The only thing you don't have is breakfast included I have gone to New York to Boston Texas California New Mexico North Caroline ETC and have had the free breakfast but here not.

Stayed here for New Years. Received an amazing deal on Priceline for myself and three friends. The hotel was very accommodating, placing us in two connecting rooms which were offset from everyone else allowing us to have fun without disturbance! Great location to other parts of D. C. As we partied around the city. Conveniently located to good food spots, such as Beacon Bar & Grill.

This hotel is okay for the following reasons. 2 of the 3 staff at check in I spoke to was rude. The air conditioning was horrible. The settings was centralized so the room control was useless and it never cooled. The bath robe and bath tub wasn’t clean as I would expect for this brand. Given an option I would not stay in this hotel again. Location was great, walkable distance to the museums. The rooms all face the hotel lobby and no view of the outside.

I cannot imagine a bad review for this hotel. I’d pay double just for the excellent staff. I was made to feel at home and well cared for with each staff member. Loved the valet, loved the check-in, housekeeping was remarkable, happy hour staff was AWESOME, food and beverage manager was on point! I will always choose this location when in D. C. Way to go Westin! This should be your flagship location!

What an amazing staff! The Front Desk / Registration lady (Julieta) was great! She welcomed me and my wife like we were royalty. She was so nice, with a contagious enthusiasm and extremely professional at the same time. Hotel location is convinient if you are attending to a conference at Convention Center. Its like a 10-12 minute walk or 3 minute taxi ride. Great experience. Highly recommended!

The location of the hotel was convenient enough for the trip. The service was far from convenient. I booked my stay through the company that I work for, and ended up being charged for room/taxes on my personal card — — that was put on file only for incidentals, according to the front desk. I called numerous times to ensure the situation will be rectified, but was redirected every time. From finance to front desk to manager on duty. It took 4 days, at minimum for someone to respond to this and even they were not willing to address or apologize for the situation caused by the front desk. After asking several times whether my card would be charged for any reason, upon checking in, they ensured me that it would not. This is unacceptable service with little accountability.

In town for business, it's a solid hotel. Stylish enough. Got in twenty minutes before the bar closed, and the bartender was perfectly happy to take our food and drink orders. Staff have all been friendly, accommodating, and competent. Rooms are nice enough. Mattress is nice. Shower has both an overhead rain faucet and a handle faucet, which is neat. Location is the real reason we're here. Right next to our meeting location, but it's also very near the white house. Convenient.

The staff was nice, courteous and helpful. The room was great. Extremely clean. The bed was VERY comfortable as were the linens. The only issue I had was a personal preference for the shower head. The one in my rom was a "Rain fall" style and I prefer one with more of an angle and more pressure. But other than that everything was great.

Room was spacious, clean, and quite. The layout of the hotel was a bit odd as many of the rooms faced inward to a central courtyard and may not provide as much privacy as the room we had though. Fringe Tree in the lobby offered good food and drinks, although it was quite expensive and had a tendency to randomly close early regardless of crowd size. Easy enough to walk to the National Mall and plenty of other restaurants nearby. For the price, we enjoyed our stay.

If you're accustomed to luxury hotels, this is a dump. Truly. We love the Westin in Atlanta and expected the same amenities and service here in DC, but it's not even close. We've had the AC set on 65 throughout our 3 day stay & it's still warm in here. No in room refrigerator, the carpet is dingy and gross, we've bought several meals through room service and none of them were good. Our chocolate cake was warmed in a microwave. Everyday our room keys had to be changed because they'd stop working. There's much more I could complain about but hopefully I've made my point. Ive been in nicer Hampton Inns to be honest. This is not a luxury hotel.

Very professional staff. Rooms were clean, and the bed was extremely comfy. Very impressive looking lobby, and the concierge service was very helpful. Key card was easy to use and never failed. Room had more than expected space, and lots of seating. The charging port next to the bed was appreciated but an outlet on the desk would have been a nice plus (at least I wasn't able to quickly find one). Big TV in the room.

We got a room that faces the interior so it was super quiet and we still got a lot of sunlight. There are cookies in the evening hour and the staff is always welcoming and helpful. The location to the rest of the city is okay, but I don't think you can get a perfect hotel anywhere in DC because many of the city's local attractions from museums, food, and landmarks are equally spread throughout; it's all relative to which hotel you're staying in.

One of the best hotels I've stayed at during the last 10 years. Very polite staff, clean rooms, no city noise, and good bar for after hours. Close to all the major landmarks in D. C. I would suggest using another parking garage as the Westin garage does charge $59 a night for your vehicle. There are cheaper options nearby. If you're going to visit D. C. I suggest you consider staying at the Westin!

It's ok. Not bad at all but not great. Location is good. We walked to the White House in about 10 min. I found a place to park 2 blocks over for 55.00 for our 3 days here opposed to 60.00 a night the hotel charges. There really is no restaurant, it's a lounge with a very limited, expensive menu. The rooms are a bit small but clean and comfortable. I just expected a little more. I've stayed at other Westins and this one, to me, is sub par for their name. When I come back to D. C. I will more than likely stay elsewhere. Not because I didn't like it, I just like to have more amenities. Especially if you have kids.

I liked the room. When talking problem with the temperature in the shower someone came to fix it quickly.

Great and easy access location. For the price the facility is extremely nice. It's a recently built or renovated hotel. Downsides are the delays: checking in takes 10-15 mins because of lack of employees working the front desk. I would come back and definitely recommend the place.

Great location. Nice interiors. But the staff and service are TERRIBLE. I have rarely come across such terrible service and staff. I am a gold member and have stayed here 3 times. Of these 3 times, one time I forgot my shaving kit and asked the front desk. After repeated call backs with no one turning up, I had to dress up and go down and get it myself next time my breakfast was delayed hour and 15 min and the same with dinner. You call them and they will say they had a mistake/system got hung up and all sorts of lame statements. good for a night sleep. But dont expect service.

The room and the hotel have potential, but are lacking in several areas. The stroller they advertise is several years old, look ridiculously faded and dirty, much like one you would find in a Mexican flea market. We got food around town, only to realize there is a fridge in the room, but no microwave anywhere in the building for guests to use. We did sight seeing, got to the hotel about 11 pm, only to be told that the parking is full, very little help on finding out what to do with our car for the night, as guests. We had to park on the street, only to move it before 7 am when the meters kick in.

Had a horrible experience with valet parking. Went with my two young children and was told my car was going to be ready in 6 min only to have to wait for almost an hour. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that they would have to call me back — — haven't heard anything from them. The wait for the car was handled very poorly and cut into our vacation time on an already tight schedule. The room was ok, but our view overlooked the inside lobby which was a little disappointing when you are in the city. Front desk staff was very nice.

Nice location, smack in the middle of the mall/monuments and the bars/restaurants of 14 st, definitely far enough away from the tourist madness of the White House area. Nice lobby, good staff. Stayed in suite (large 900+ sq ft) large TVs, comfy bed, good linens on king bed. The pull out sofa was a crippler and the linens were sand paperish. Major flaw is the noise coming from the lobby (windows and sliding doors are old and need sound proofing). The bathroom was large, big shower (shower door is old and wouldn't close properly), the marble is super dated, nice tub, loved the bidet! Overall satisfied but the noise at times was unacceptable. Manager was professional and apologetic (appreciated his efforts to make an unfixable problem with the noise more tolerable).

The hotel is really nice when you arrive and looks really nice when you step inside the lobby, but the rooms lack any potential. The furniture is scratched up and the rooms look like they haven't been dusted in months. The beds are hard and the bed linen feels like paper on your skin. There was also an issue with the air in the room I had and the front desk was notified and an electrical assistant was sent to the room to check on the issue, but he only offered to bring me a portable fan. I asked to be moved to another room but the front desk never made an attempt to contact me back about moving me to another room. I made reservations for this hotel via Expedia, but I would never recommend anyone staying here. Horrible rooms and horrible front desk service. And the parking is extremely expensive $55+ a day.

My first trip to Washington D. C. And it was a wonderful experience! The hotel had that fresh clean odor and no one knows where it is coming from. I've visited the Westin in Seattle Washington and the sweet smell brought back memories. The night bar was wonderful and so was the staff.

Great hotel recently renovated. Very attentive staff, impeccable rooms with great beds, gym with brand new machines. Can't say enough good things, among the best Westins worldwide I have stayed at. Wonderful location, really deserves the 5 stars.

The Westin Georgetown, Washington D. C. Is in a great location, the room and bathroom were fabulous, front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with map and directions to the location of the hotel. Service was impeccable throughout my time there. Service was always very prompt and the receptionist was very friendly on the phone. The room I stayed in was a bit on the small compared to other hotels I have stayed in, but was still convenient for me. The bed was very, very comfortable. I will definitely recommend this hotel is you happen to visit Georgetown, DC.

Stayed here for a guys weekend. The hotel was still being worked on, but the inside was clean and sharp looking. The staff was good during the stay. After my party checked out is when the problems started. There was a double charge for overnight parking. After reaching out a day later I was asked to fax the receipt in and did. To my disappointment they still have not returned the money. After 4 phone calls and 3 emails still no money. If you stay here make sure you handle all monetary matters onsite or it will not be completed. Good luck with your stay in DC. It is a great city.

It was very bad, when booking the agent insisted on telling me that there was no offers and my friends discovered that there was a 40% discount for the other night during that period. They over charged me with an amount they called (incedental) and refused to give it back except after 30 dayes, which is illegal action. I always stay in hotels for vacations or for conferences either abroad or local in Egpt, NO hotel every did that with me. It seems that Westin employers and their policy does not know any thing about "Hotels" they just running business to get more money from a customer.

Stayed at the Westin City Center a few weeks ago on a business trip. This is not one of the Westin's nicer properties. First of all, the place is weird — I got an upgrade to a suite (room 500) due to being SPG Platinum. The room is directly outside of the elevators. The view was an internal atrium type structure, so the room was super dark as no sunlight got in. The room was sort of circular with the main feature being the bathroom, which had two entrances, however the bathroom was not stand out in anyway. It was old, dark, and dated. Secondly — there is massive construction going on — everything is all screwed up and at times it seems you're in a maze. The lounge is closed, you have to take 2 elevators to get to the rooms, and most of the lobby is walled off with plastic sheeting. Suffice to say, NO ONE is hanging out here due to this chaos, and so the restaurant and bar (if they were even open) were desolate. To be totally honest, it's almost bordering on misdemeanor-criminal and definitely bad business to not tell people the extent of the inconvenience of the construction. They are not painting a few walls here, they're doing a complete structural overall including drilling, tearing walls down, jack hammering, etc. Which has a major impact on the quality of life while staying here. I'll probably end up staying at another Westin due to the SPG program being pretty good, however there's no way I'm coming back here.
