Hotel is located close to DC events and tourism. Associate’s are accommodating. Restaurant is awesome as well as the bar.

Close to eating, shopping & subway station.

Close to the Arlington National Cemetery. Close to all the DC monuments. Starbucks in hotel, PF Chang’s right out the front door, Big Buns burger place right next door, & good pizza place too close by. Shower is great, refrigerator, workout room lots better than most.
ONLY drawback was bs parking fee no one mentions.

Large clean rooms and comfortable bed! Convenient to restaurants and a very nice meeting rooms.

Room was okay, a little bit dated. No elite recognition or upgrade although a suite was available for booking (I’m Platinum). Stayed during COVID-19 so I didn’t expect much. Parking was offered at 50% off, but was not well kept. Front desk person looked bored during check-in. Overall okay experience but do not expect more than just a room in my opinion.

Helpful staff, great location.

Food was good. Company was the best! Eve the bartender was very nice. The manager was very personable. The remolded was awesome. Will be there many more times.

I loved it! It’s was very clean, smelled really nice, ohhh d bed & sheets felt wonderful. I wish we could stay longer. & I forgot my iPad in the room, but they found it & will be sent to me. Very honest employees. Thank God. I will stay there again in the future. Highly recommend this place when visiting Virginia, Maryland & Washington DC. It’s a perfect location. The front desk employees were wonderful, very friendly, polite & very helpful.

Two days there and by far one of my most disappointing hotels. I it started from arrival, check in, through the stay to leaving. If it was one issue I would say an isolate problem however it was throughout. They have a complete lack of customer service. I will send a separate letter with the concerns as our coworkers that were traveling with me were as disappointed.

Check in was quick and easy, the room was clean and well appointed. Very nice indeed. Great value, I recommend this hotel to my friends!

We only stayed one night but the room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Also go eat at the Big buns restaurant great food.

Last minute trip to DC we were able to book a room here. The room was nice. What you’d expect from hotels in this category. Valet was super fast I could appreciate that. The pool was okay. Lifeguard on duty. Whenever she has to take a break be prepared to get out the pool. We did have to call to the front desk a few times just to get toilet paper for our room. When they finally came they brought Kleenex. We actually had to go find a cart to get tissue.

Overall it's a fairly nice hotel. The rooms are starting to show some signs of wear and tear and could use an update. When checking in our room still wasn't ready at 530 because of the number of late check outs they allow. The lack of a club or lounge is a bit disappointing. The only parking option is valet, so be ready for 36 dollars a night to park. The hotel staff is very nice and super helpful.

Nice hotel room. Staff was really welcoming and helpful the entire stay. Parking was about $30 a night. Lots of good places to eat nearby. Metro is just a short walk away.

Staff are great and accommodating, lobby is welcoming, and king room is nice and spacious. I got good sunlight in my room. The only downside for me is the king bedrooms apparently all face an office building and construction, which I am not a fan of.

Lovely place… lovely hotel… do not have free parking but that can be overlooked… great service… gave me a late checkout when I requested too.

This hotel was fantastic. My room was very comfortable and nice. The conference facilities accommodated the meetings I was there for well and were well set up and functional. The staff was attentive and friendly. They even had running routes planned out for guests to follow, which is really handy when you are in a new city. The hotel is located in easily walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and bars. Also, if is a 15 minute car or 25 minute subway ride from DC. If you are in Arlington, I recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very pretty and in a great and wonderful location. With that being said, $34 a night valet mandatory is steep and they hope you tip the poor guy parking cars. They better pay him well or otherwise I'm questioning where that money goes. The rooms are a little small and not very cool. There is a thermostat in the room but I don't think it has a lot of control. Tv has very limited channels and only one Showtime selection. I also had loud neighbors which isn't their fault but it was the icing on the cake. Anyway, great location! Average upscale hotel if that makes sense.

We stayed at this hotel April 19-22, 2018 and were very pleased with our choice. Our room was clean, well equipped and had a very comfortable king bed. The hotel is within walking distance of the Metro transit line which we used to/from DC. When I booked online, the hotel description stated 'free breakfast' but we found that this was not the case. However, the front desk gave us complementary vouchers for the breakfast buffet for one day. We paid for the 2nd day and ate elsewhere on the day we departed. Many guests look for free breakfasts when booking hotels. Since this isn't correct information, the hotel should advise all their booking agents to remove it from their description.

Spacious & clean rooms. Friendly staff. 2 city blocks from the nearest train station. Multiple restaurants within walking distance (less than a mile). We satayed in room 1223. I'd recommend this one.

Great hotel in an up and coming location. Close to the Pentagon, but can be a bit of a challenge to get to other areas. But not too far from DCA. The staff was amazing. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Carlos who works in the restaurant for breakfast was the absolute best. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Hotel staff was nice, and had Metro cards in the lobby which they loaned out to guests so you did not need to purchase one. However, past the great staff, that is about as much good as I can say about this Westin. The rooms were VERY small (think Motel 6 size) and only option for beds were 1 king or 2 DOUBLE beds?!? The beds were far from "heavenly" as well. We booked through Delta Vacations and purchased a premium executive suite. When we discovered our mini room, we were told this Westin location has no premium executive rooms. They offered us a second room for 3 days at $900.

Went to a one day sales/learning meeting here. Very nice neighborhood and the hotel staff was nice. Coffee shop attached to the premises. Probably a good place to stay if you're not able to get something in downtown, or need access to the National Airport.

Clean and comfortable. Great shower. Fan controls high enough where I could have white noise to sleep! Nice bar/restaurant with great food and wine.

Nice hotel inside and out. Rooms are quiet and clean and the staff are courteous and professional. The Metro is an easy 4 minute walk away and there are plenty of restaurants and bars around the block.

We spent 5 nights here in late March. Front desk and valet service were super. Room was satisfactory and beds/pillows very comfortable. Housekeeping was a bit erratic with replacing towels, coffee cups and other amenities and this required calls to concierge to acquire what was needed.

Great location. Close to universities. Clean with pleasant helpful staff. Brunch in restaurant was for a family affair and was quite nice. Roommates was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. Several family members enjoyed the pool.

Nice hotel but staff is very lazy. Checked in in the middle of night and had reserved a king room. They gave me a double and eventhough they changed the room, they asked me to wait until the morning. Also the valet would not come out to take our car, we ALWAYS had to go inside into their suite area. They also NEVER helped us with our bags upon check-in or check out. The Starbucks is nice though and the hotel is close to public transportation. At least 6 restaurants are in walking distance.

Nice hotel, somewhat dated. Located in a good area with a Metro station well within walking distance. Parking valet at the hotel is mandatory and rather pricey ($34 a night as of Feb 18'). Requested a king room when I booked but was initially given a double full room instead. Was able to move to a king room on second day of stay.

Wonderful visit! The bed was comfortable, amenities nice, and view was great. First time at a Westin, and will definitely stay here again. Great customer service as well. My first room key wasn't working when after checking in. Had to wait a bit downstairs, and received a complimentary upgrade to a higher floor. More than what I was expecting :)

Excellent service and comfortable rooms. Well equipped gym and pool. Good location for easy access to downtown D. C and sights 15 minutes via taxi or 20 mins via tube.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are nice and clean, and they're fairly spacious. There's a small gym that has some free weights (goes up to 50lbs), a simple cable machine, and some treadmills along with a separate swimming pool area. There's also a restaurant/bar downstairs and a Starbucks behind the lobby area. It's also in an area near some good food and drinks.

I did enjoy my stay here until they charged me $100 with out notice. The deposit was paid back and then they charged us without notice or reason. We called up to ask why but never got an answers. We complained to our bank and they lied to make sure the bank would not refund us. Will never stay at a Western hotel every again. Original review, Great stay, soft beds and helpful staff. The room we stayed in was a little old with terrible lighting. Over all a good hotel.

The hotel is nice, the price for the weekend and the location is excellent! Check in and check out was easy and quick. Even though we didn't get a chance to use the pool and weight room it was there at our disposal. The only negative I have for this hotel is that parking is $30 over night. Personally, I feel shouldn't have to that much for parking but other than that. 4.5 for me. Fyi they have a Starbucks inside the hotel for all my coffee heads.

This Westin location met all of our needs for a weekend stay. We were in DC both for business and leisure, and it suited our needs. The staff were not particularly accommodating or engaging — many of the desk staff seemed rather listless — but everyone was respectful, efficient, and professional. We had no issues checking in, checking out, or getting duplicate keys. Our Double room was impeccably clean and equipped with a fridge and very large television. The bed held two adult women without much space to spare. Overall, a satisfactory experience — we'd certainly return for our next conference weekend.

We enjoyed our stay! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to assist you, from the front desk staff to the wait staff in the restaurant. I would highly recommend staying at this facility.

I was here for a conference. The meeting spaces were pretty standard fare. It is conveniently located in Ballston with many parking options and a number of good food options around. The food on sight was great as well at the breakfast and evening receptions that we had.

Convenient to offices in Ballston. Close to a couple of restaurants and to a shopping mall if you need anything. Stay here a few times per year and staff is always friendly and helpful. Nice rooms too.

Gave two stars. One for the room and one for the location. For real guys spent a lot of money here for nothing. If you see the price is fine here, you should know that you are going to pay half what you paid for your room to the freaking valet parking. Almost $40 per night. Also, when you get down you wait forever for your car. What a stupid manager, the $40 you take it I can pay double less to Uber. Will never come here again. I swear to god, I would have much better price and hotel in downtown DC not Arlington.

Concierge service and valet was good. Restaurant was way too expensI've for the bad food they served. Don't get the pancakes. Shower head was too low for anyone above 6' tall. Not enough towels in the room. Beds were superbly comfortable. Very good location close to a few good restaurants and 2 minutes walk to the metro.

Fine Westin. Great if you're working nearby. A couple good restaurants nearby. If you're here for 1 week — it's great. I wouldn't pick this place for a multi month project.

The room was magnificent — a suite with floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom and living room. I used the fully equipped gym and loved the state of the art treadmills. Terrific breakfast that's free for triple AAA members. A great weekend venue!

Hotel was fantastic. Room was decent size. Extremely comfortable king size bed. Shower was terrific rain head with handle. Water pressure above average with never ending hot water. Great place to stay.

Stayed there a little over a month ago. My stay was fine, but I have to say I was a little disappointed, I left some items in my room and I've called a handful of times to inquire about them, but I keep getting sent to lost and found and never receive any return calls. You would hope that they would proactively reach out when finding items in your room, but I know people get busy and it could have slipped through the cracks. Being a nicer hotel I thought I would at least count on a return call so I can describe the items I'm missing to see if anyone has turned them in. For this reason I will be staying in other hotels on my return trips to the area.

Very expensive hotel but with a rather quiet bar. Good place for a quiet and intimate conversation.

My parents, wife and I were there for 2 nights in a quick vacation trip to DC. Hotel was very nice with a modern touch. They have a Starbucks in the lobby and in the room you get a bottle of water, Tazo tea and Starbucks pods for morning coffee. Rooms were clean and nice, we arrived at 11am and staff were able to gave us early checkin which was really convenient after being awake since 3am. The hotel is in the middle of a very nice, clean and modern area surrounded by several restaurants like Applebee's, PF Changs, Nandos, Chipotle, iHop, World of Beer, Buffalo Wild Wings, a Mall, a Macy's and metro station. It is like 20 mins away from DC monuments and museum area — 14 to 20 dollars in UberX. I'll definitively stay again at this hotel on my next visit!

The rooms are neat and clean. The staff are courteous and professional. The food was absolutely delicious (which I was not expecting). It had one of the best showers I have come across in my travels. I would happily stay here again.

Room was appointed well, and the shower head was superior to most hotels, which fall short of delivering a tropical waterfall of relaxation as this one did! Hotel food and service were very good and other good food is nearby. Near the Ballston Metro station and my business meeting. I stay here around three times a year and always enjoy this hotel.

Lovely rooms with great views on the top floors. Clean, modern hotel with friendly staff Parking is expensive and valet confusing on arrival but our car was looked after. Very impressed.

Great location, rooms were pretty clean and comfortable. My only issue is they should be a little more explicit in that parking is not included, but other than that service and hotel itself was really great.

This hotel was very nice and they really pay attention to detail. The workout facilities and pool were very well designed. It was in close proximity to nearly every restaurant and all the shopping you can handle. I will definitely stay here again!

Great room, nice beds. However my bathroom wasn't cleaned and I found used towels in it. I think I just had a bad room as the hallway was loud with kids running up and down the halls. Not the typical Westin stay.

Stayed at the Westin Darlington Gateway for two nights while in town on business. The room is quite nice, and very spacious. The breakfast buffet was quite decent, and the Starbucks in the lobby is a winner. The staff are friendly and courteous, helping to make the entire experience very enjoyable.

The rooms were very nice and the service was efficient, respectful, and fast. There is a 24hour gym with a weight tower and freeweights which was really helpful and they even have shorts amd shirts for those of you — — like me — — who forgot to pack for the gym. There is also a kiddie pool and a hottub (for adults).

Front desk was out standing, I called ahead to try to check in early, and they were more than accommodating. Rooms were clean and large, we got a corner room. Starbucks and restaurant on the main floor. Right next to the metro. Only 10-15 min uber to the National Mall.

Doesn't have the keyless entry yet. Older hotel, but still nice. The staff is amazing! Love that they have a Starbucks downstairs but the boys are 7am — 7pm, atypical for most locations.

This us a wonderful hotel. The staff is really nice and go out of their way to help. I had a problem with the fridge and they were up to fix it within 5 minutes. They have thought of everything for your convenience here, they even have complimentary head phones in the workout room. The only complaint I have is the cost for parking. It's a little pricey.

Was there for a work holiday party. The catering was fantastic. The bartenders were great. The room was very nice. I'd definitely stay again. Do figure out where to park before you go unless you plan to do valet parking.

Nice room and nice bathroom and right near Washington DC! went to see Arlington really close and went everywhere else when I was tired I went to the hotel 8-15 minute from Washington, but it would of been good if they had better food I ordered a salad and it had brown in it so I forced myself to eat it and my kids hated the chicken strips and they love them! Everything else was good nice waiters and it was a nice memorable experience but just the food I had a problem with.

After checking in, we were given the keys to our room where we were to stay for a couple of nights. I was shocked when the elevator doors opened onto a brand new, freshly painted, newly carpeted hallway. Wow! Pretty nice to see that our floor had recently undergone a renovation. When we opened the door to our room we were blown away. I think we must have been the first people to ever use it. Everything. Bed, sheets, towels, carpeting were brand new. Lucky us! We went downstairs after unpacking on a search for something to eat in the close by. Took a look in the bar area and checked out their menu and prices. Floored again! We just stayed in the hotel as the food was delicious and the servings generous. The wine was a two for one kind of happy hour special. Great price anyhow. Would you believe we did it again the second night as we were tired from touring all day and knew what kind of meal we would be receiving. Also there was a small private party going on and we sort of got caught up in it.
When were were leaving the hotel the concierge approached me to ask if we had enjoyed our stay. We got to chatting and I think I made his day! The topic of conversation was traveling and where we had travelled. Short version. I had been to his island! He had never spoken to a person who had been to where he was born and raised. Kiribati! A little island near the equator.
All in all… One of the best stays ever.

Pros: Great location, Many Restaurants in walking distances. Bed & Bedding very comfortable. Bathroom & Shower had updated & modern features. Nicely scented toiletries provided. Most of Staff, very helpful, especially Bell Person, Elizabeth. Healthy snacks were complimentary in Lobby & Workout area. Pool was great, temperature just perfect! Friendly Life guard on duty as well. Excellent view of the city. Overall, Great Place to stay, will visit again. Cons: $29 Overnight Valet Parking Fee (Too Expensive), Charged $75 Refundable Security Deposit, No one mention at time of Reservation (Ties Up Available Credit for several days! ) Lastly, Check out desk understaffed at 12 noon, one person working, long wait time.

Very good hotel. We paid low price but received much more than expected.

WORST experience! I stayed there last week for 1 night. The Air Condition was so messed up that I wasn’t even able to sleep well for few minutes. It was HOT weather outside and this improper functioning of AC made my stay here horrible. Book a room somewhere else rather than spending a night here.

Crashed here August 2015. Great location, just 10 minutes away or less from DC. The rooms were amazing, my view was incredible, the staff was excellent. I have no complaints. Looking for somewhere to crash in the DC area but on a budget this is it. I was not fond of the $30.00 fee per day for parking.

Don't think I would ever book a reservation here, just to talk on them on the phone I am put on hold for over 30minutes, just to ask a simple question. Front Desk just sends me to another person, which may of be more of service, but then he tells me call him back in a hour. I wait a hour I call him back no answer keeps ringing and ringing and ringing. Then front desk picks up the phone and puts me on hold. Im still on hold even when writing this review to analyze their phone services. I am rational, but the wait time is ridiculous.

Very bad experience. Went to this hotel to use points from our timeshare. This hotel was the highest — they rate them from 1-5 with 5 using the most points — this was a 5. We really expected a great stay for this. We were put in a run down room — carpet stained, bathroom wallpaper peeling, and black (mold? ) on the ceiling which was also peeling. Asked to be away from the road but wound up still on a very busy, very noisy road. Tried to use Wi-Fi but couldn't. Tried to call tech services but on hold so had to hang up due to needing to leave. Came back and found stuff in fridge frozen — no way to turn down. Called tech and luckily he was great — though it took about 1/2 on phone to get it working due to the way they had entered our last name downstairs! No clock radio — couldn't figure that out. Went down the next morning and told about refrig. Not working. We were on our way out for the day but they said it would be working by the time we got back. Came back to frozen milk and water-nothing had been done. Next day complained again and finally got a guy who came up and fixed it — turns out control was on back and could not get to since it was in a cabinet. Asked about radio — found out there should have been one there — shouldn't that had been noticed by the person setting up the room? Had a problem with valet parking (only choice here) Got in one night late and the valet wanted to know what happened to tag on key. We kept telling him we had not been given a tag.

The purpose of our trip was to visit DC and get married. I chose a 4 star hotel to receive that great service that you would expect. I have to say that we have received better service at Marriott hotels than we did at this Westin. The hotel is in a good area, very close to restaurants, shopping and Metro station. That is the pro. We have two dogs which travel everywhere with us. The entire reason we chose this hotel was due to it being pet friendly. When we arrived we asked if there was a place to walk our dogs. We got a very short answer of "there is nowhere on the property. " We walked around and there are a couple of small parks, but they all have signs saying no pets. I think this should be noted when you are booking that you will be staying with a pet. That evening after a long day of running around DC and Arlington we wanted to relax in the hotel room. We ordered a scoop of ice cream through room service. After 40 minutes of waiting, they sent us a fruit tray; which of course we stated was incorrect. We then had to wait an additional 35 minutes. During which time I went down to the front desk to find a supervisor. The supervisor did apologize for the wait and removed the charge from our room. I also told her that I didn't appreciate being told that this was a pet friendly hotel when there is no place to walk the dogs. She stated that "we ARE in the city". Which I understand, but this isn't the first time I've stayed in a pet friendly hotel in a city.

Solid representation of a Westin. Nice rooms and facilities. Main reason not to give them a 5 is that I didn't think the food from room service or restaurant was up to par. Food was a bit salty and not as good as I've had at other Westins. I would stay here again when visiting family in DC.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Westin in Arlington, VA in April 2013. We were traveling with our puppy and were pleasantly surprised to find out that he was welcomed at the hotel and could stay in the room during the day. We found the location to be ideal for the sights we planned on visiting in Washington, DC. There were several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, so we did not have to drive around to eat. Our room was clean and accommodating, and the price was also reasonable. We will likely stay there again when we return to the area.

Though we got a good deal on this hotel, there were a couple of problems with the room. — I could never get the temperature as low as I would have liked. The room temp pretty much stayed near 80 degrees the entire time (luckily it was only early summer). — Wi-Fi signal strength was horrible. Unusable. I had to rely on my cellular connectivity. They offer free Wi-Fi in the lobby, but I really wanted to watch Netflix on my IPad in my room and could not. There is a Starbucks in the lobby, which was nice; but be prepared to contend with a long line of locals during the morning coffee rush.
