My son and I were stranded at the airport due to bad weather that prohibited us from flying so I booked online and we went over to the hotel and we have the best time. The hotel was clean the beds were very Snuggly the staff was very accommodating the breakfast the next day was great the shuttle bus driver was really courteous and on time. Even while traveling turn horribly worse the hotel stay was fabulous.

A MUST STAY property! Friendly staff, especially a gentleman at the front desk named Ed and the breakfast server Liya. Super clean and beautiful, modern decor. Free shuttle to/from Airport is a super plus. Just FYI you have to call them for pickup at the airport, it doesn’t just come around. But it’s 24 hours and they come really fast. Even the drivers were friendly. Great location, right in the middle of restaurants, shopping, and movies. I loved my stay. 5 stars well deserved.

Location is great, area has everything you would need for an extended stay incl. A store, restaurants etc. Room was nice, clean and spacious. Had a phone that didnt work when we arrived and still didnt work when we left. 2 service people looked at it and determined was the line itself.

The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were spacious and clean and the pool was beautiful and clean. My only complaints were that the shower was small and the doors wouldn't stay shut and that hot tub had a pretty really strong chlorine content.

Good location for a business trip, coffee was really good, hotel breakfast was awesome. They need to have better shuttle service.

Unfortunately we had a less then satisfying stay. To summarize; the shower is warm at best, after running the tub something in the wall made a terrible humming noise, the TV in the fitness room was down and the smell in there… we had to ask the front desk 3 times over 45 mins. For towels and finally she went into the room behind her and grabbed some… why couldn't that have happened the first time? The windows don't open so the room had a stale air smell that wouldn't go away, the ice machines on the 2nd and 3rd floors were broken, the pool is a glorified tub and two double "Makers Mark" whiskies with water are about $30 (par for DC I suppose). I understand this isn't the most expensive hotel in the area but it is a "Hilton" which I thought they could at least make sure the sugar and milk were full at the lobby coffee stand and provide real glassware in the rooms please. If you have to stay here you will survive but you may not have the most enjoyable stay. Before you accept the room make sure to ask about the view, you may end up with a brick wall out of your window. The shuttle worked well from the airport however…

This location in general is a hidden gem. It is a cosy place with lots of dining options, a parking structure, and a market. The hotel has just completed a remodel and is a nice place to stay. Helpful staff, clean rooms and ok workout facilities. There is also a nice walking and jogging trail nearby. The only downside is that it is not close to a metro station.

Nice, clean hotel. Had to pay $15/ day for parking. Had problems with the tv. Breakfast was good & servers were very nice & efficient. Convenient to have a Harris Teeter across the street.

Beautiful rooms in a great location. Would be 5 stars except unable to have room cleaned in the evening. For the price, the hotel should have a housekeeper on staff in the evenings.

Above average Hilton Garden Inn in a great location with restaurants, grocer, bars and two microbrews close by. Parking across the street is probably the only negative, which walking a couple hundred yards outside isn't the worst thing ever. Fitness room is pretty good. 5 dollar happy hour burger and $3 craft beers not bad either. Surprised to find some locals taking advantage of the deal.

Wonderful place to stay. Great staff and the best neighborhood in the DC metro area. Movie and stage theaters. Grocery store and plenty of restaurants and taverns.

Over presidents' weekend we found our room on the 3rd floor was large with modern furnishings but navy blue and dark grey walls make for a very dark environment. This is not the place if you have vision issues. Turning on all the lights and opening the window shade did not help. Bathroom was very beautifully appointed, except that there wasn't enough light to see in the mirror — needs a light in the shower. Bed pillows were horrendous — no fluff left in them. Mirrors in the room were practically useless because the lighting was so poor. Breakfast was another issue. At check-in we weren't given the tickets for the breakfast we paid for which required a trip to the front desk to rectify. I've discovered HGI's breakfast "buffet" has been planned by someone who never tested the layout after we have experienced similar issues at several locations. No bowls near the fruit. No glasses near the juice. No plates near the waffle iron or near the bread/muffins. Had to go to the lobby to get a cup of tea as dining area was understaffed. Did not make for a pleasant start to the morning.

Hotel walking distance from meeting, good location with easy access to restaurants in and around the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfy.

What a great place! This can be said both for the area and the hotel itself. It's located next to a whole slew of shopping and restaurants of any kind you could want. The area is well maintained with water bowls set out for dogs in the warmer months. Many famous attractions are close enough that the free hotel shuttle could drop you off. I love staying here and look forward to doing so again!

This was my third time staying here and have enjoyed it everytime. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The area is very walkable and is close to several restaurants, bars, theater and grocery store. There is also a dog park and brewery across the street. I love staying here when I come in for work as the neighborhood provides many things to do at night. If you want to stay in, the hotel has a pool and a restaurant that are great as well. For getting around, Ubers always seem to be right around the corner and there is a bus metro stop a block away. If you drove here, parking is available in a parking structure across the street for fifteen dollars which is very reasonable.

Slightly disappointed. Traveled on business room was running over $200 a night for a small 2 queen bed room. The TV was insanely small and I ended up with a great view of a wall on the 6th floor ensure to avoid room 606 if you want to see more than a wall.

Nice stay. Some construction going on. Parking could be closer, no valet. Across street parking garage, 4th level. If you have many bags, suggest you drop bags out front first. Great location, proximity to numerous restaurants and shops.

I have to express how incredibly disappointed I was in this hotel! Lets start with absolutely no water and then when it came back it was brown! We checked in Friday 9/1 and I was VERY clear about NOT processing my credit card and I was going to pay in cash or use a different card, within 1 minute of me telling the man at the counter this he charged my card anyway! I was furious and he said oh I will just reverse the charge, as if that will help me now! Its 4 days later and I have almost $500.00 STILL held on my credit card. As convent as this location is I will find another hotel to stay in from now on! If I could give them 0 Stars I would! Bad Customer service and the beds were horribly uncomfortable!

Have stayed at this hotel before, and recommended to a friend coming from out of town. Hotel is in a fantastic location, with a Harris Teeter right across the building, and an entire area filled with shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a movie theater and a stage theater. Rooms are large and clean if a bit minimalist, bathrooms are serviceable (not spa level, but large enough. )

Excellent service. I have stayed here multiple times for business and the management, desk staff and shuttle service have been great. Always willing to go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay.

We stayed here in March. I booked and paid for our 3 rooms through Expedia. It took me over an hour to check in because the hotel said they didn't receive the info from Expedia. Finally was able to check in. When it was time to check out the hotel charged 2 of the rooms that I had already paid for. The front desk clerk 3rd me to come back after 3 when the person I checked in with would be working. She was supposed to credit me a night for the hassle. I just spent over 2 hours tonight trying to get the refund. This was my 3rd time calling the hotel. While staying there we were stranded 2 evenings because the nighttime shuttle driver didn't show up. So my 89 year old father in law had to walk 6 blocks back to the hotel. The shuttle took him to the restaurant. Will never stay here again or deal with Expedia again!

They have a shuttle that can do pick ups from the airport and drop off to the metro. The staff have been wonderful to work with. It has a business center, pool, and fitness center. It is very close to a 24 hour grocery store which has been wonderful and walking distance to all the small shops. Would stay again.

This is my 2nd stay at this hotel and in Shirlington. Love the location and restaurants just a short stroll away. This is my ideal hotel. Very friendly staff and always asking if you need something that they can help you with. Don't believe the negative reviews. Someone must've had a bad day and nothing would have satisfied them.

The front desk and drivers are very nice and friendly. The room was very clean a spacious. However, the shuttle service to the airport is limited to 1/hr… I will not consider this location for future travel as morning commute can have significant impact on travel to airport… recommend you add 30 min — 1 hr to allow yourself sufficient time to transit to airport … better early than late.

It's in a very nice location, I will not describe it I know I should but you really have to see it for yourself. The staff is very friendly and accomodating.

Great location — smack dab in the middle of Shirlington's restaurant and bar district. There's also a grocery store across the street! The beds were very comfortable and my corner room (with two large windows) was spacious. The pillows were the highlight for me — could they really be using down pillows?! Sure felt like it! My only minor complaint would be the parking being across the street and on the 4th floor of the garage. The good definitely way out weighted that minor issue. I plan to stay here again soon!

Check-in was smooth; the front desk clerk was very nice and quick. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Not the biggest fan if the adjustable pressure mattress but was able to get a pretty comfortable setting. There's plenty of eating and entertaining nearby. The only real complaint is that there's not a good place to park temporarily while checking in, but that's not even really in the hotel's control. I would definitely stay here again.

We only stayed one night (of a long weekend) but it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is very conveniently located to the highway and there are shops and entertainment nearby within walking distance. I was pleasantly surprised that the price of the hotel was only $89/night for a king. Both the room and the bathroom are quite spacious. I loved the fact that the nightstand has several outlets including direct USB plugs to charge your electronics. The neighborhood is quiet. The hotel looks very new and looks very upscale. Parking is free on the 4th floor of the garage (although I had overheard that might change). This is a hotel I would stay at again.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. Great location, wonderful service. Definitely the best travel choice my boyfriend and I have made. It's located in a fun little neighborhood full of great restaurant selections and a movie theater and a 24 hour grocery store and it's so convenient. The service is fantastic and the staff will go above and beyond to make you happy. The shuttle is the best feature, as they'll take you to or pick you up from anywhere within 2 miles, including the nearest metro station and Ronald Reagan Airport. I'd recommend to everyone I know.

Had an issue with our original room and it was corrected immediately. We were subsequently upgraded to a suite for no extra charge. Hotel has quite a few nice amenities. Great atmosphere nearby. 24/7 grocery store across the street, free parking in garage.

Convenient location. Safe and friendly area. Excellent out door walking mall street with wonderful reasonably priced restaurants. Free parking and clean rooms. Staff is well trained.

Not a good choice for a business traveler if you want amenities — parking NOT on site (in a grocery store parking garage across street, 4th floor only. Limited parking). If you arrive late, you will be walking through a dark parking garage and alley. NO valet available, no help with bags. $200+ per night and basically all self service. No breakfast in room service available. On the plus side, room was clean and adequate size.

We had a large party with 3 rooms for 3 nights. I enjoyed staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, Shirlington — it was clean and well located with shopping and restaurants and a walking trail close by. The staff was very kind and treated us very well. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was the best hotels ever in the area, btw the area itself was amazing. The surroundings made you feel like you living in a peaceful version of a downtown city. It was truly an amazing experience, and it is very close to Washington D. C. Which was our destination. The only bad thing about this hotel was that they had unhelpful people at the information desk and they wouldn't give coffee or milk or supplies at the time we needed them.
