The shower head was clogged. 2 packs of sugar for 2 coffees? No complimentary breakfast unless you work for the government? Too much shady shenanigans going on. Shuttle bus driver was rude. Am desk woman was very rude. Never again. A hotel should be welcoming.

Beautiful place, quiet rooms and good room service.

We invaded their hotel with over 2400 people, most of which were teenagers. The staff was amazing and all were friendly. They also made the check in and check out process incredibly smooth and effortless. I highly recommend this hotel!

Arriving later on a Saturday they had to many events and there was no parking. They suggested me park on the street which is metered parking or drive to another garage parking elsewhere. Of the two meals I ate out of 3 I found hair in my food.

Very nice hotel and stay. Staff are very helpful, just some hard to communicate with because they are foreign and don’t speak English (maids). Fitness center was great! Also I couldn’t connect to internet and although I waited about 7-10 minutes for technical help, they were able to get my IP and give me direct access so I could work! Overall great place to stay — I come for an annual conference and would stay here again instead of the hotel that puts it on!

The front desk staff were not friendly and there were no bellman and no carts to take our luggage to our room. The hotel shuttle was dirty and had duck tape wrapped around the arm rest that was writes and torn. Normally love to stay at the Marriott properties but this was a huge disappointment.

Very convenient location to the metro which can be accessed through a tunnel from the lobby. If you have elite Marriott status the free breakfast is great! The room and shower seemed modern and clean. The lounge couch near the window in the room is a great place to knock out some work in the evenings. The only downside was a slight smell of cigarettes in my room. The hotel was quiet.

Having the entrance to Crystal City underground shops is very convenient. Get breakfast at cafes there rather than the hotel restaurants that charge outrageous prices. Hotel room is very clean and fresh smelling. Bed is comfortable and shower stall has modern design with cool glass door. Hotel parking is $36 per night which is expected in DC.

Had my wedding in one of the ballrooms. They made sure it was the most memorable event we'd ever have. Staff was very involved and helpful. Rooms were very well kept and clean. Overall very beautiful hotel and great staff. I cant thank you all enough.

Very nice hotel. The room was clean, bright and big. We didn't have the hotel breakfast, but we had many times room service, which was really yummy and delicious, they can cook anytime of the day. The staff was always polite and helpful when asked for help. I only founded the hotel way too cold for me (I always kept the air-con off), but that is just a personal feeling.

Conveniently located in Crystal City which was great for a family of 4. Hotel has a connection through the lobby to the city center shops for shopping, restaurant and metro station. We parked with the valet at the hotel and used the metro train for all of our sightseeing excursions. We also took advantage of upgrading to concierge level which provided us with an awesome buffet style breakfast, happy hour appetizers and 24 hr access to snacks and sodas. Pool is indoor/outdoor well maintained and has life guards on duty while open. Fitness center is also adequately supplied with plenty of equipment and space to meet your workout needs. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Rooms were what we had expected and provided plenty of room for 2 adults 2 kids. All in all a really nice hotel for a family.

Very nice hotel, the front desk staff as well as all the other staff are very courteous and go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The Metro station and tens of stores and restaurants are right there underground. The shuttle driver who picked us up from the airport was very courteous too.
Location-wise and easy access to all shopping, eating and DC touring places is what makes this hotel one of the best places to stay at. Definitely this will be the place to stay at should there be another visit from me with family.

Excellent Hotel. Everything from the decor, to the bar, to the pool was excellent. The room was beautiful, they had a lot of lighting in the room. The View facing the airport was decent. The sunrise was pretty bright. The hotel also offers access to underground tunnels where they have Crystal City shops. You don't have to walk too far for anything also as they have various food choices and bars around. I will be staying here on my next go-round.

Hotel is great! Had tons of room for us and our kids. Very clean, comfortable beds, bathrooms were great! The hotel was very convenient for accessing the DC area on our vacation. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We will be staying here again next time we come to DC!

I made it a point to stay in this lovely hotel after a stay 2 years ago. The hotel is lovely! The bed was comfortable. The design is stylish. The staff treated us with respect. My husband and I were there to celebrate our anniversary. We received a bottle of wine! I love that there is a mall and subway connection under the hotel. Very convenient for travel.

Hotel strategically connected to the metro with an internal tunnel. Large rooms, small gym but with different cardio machines. The pool is more for kids and families but very nice with so many plants around. The distribution for breakfast can be cramped if a little crowded. Omelets and paper eggs included very good.

A wonderful hotel. The rooms are comfy and spatious and the staff is friendly and helpful. It’s a big conference hotel but it does feel peaceful. If you’re an elite member you can enjoy the lounge area with a free breakfast buffet and many snacks in the evening. It’s also close to the metro and a convenience store. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

The Crystal Gateway Mariot in D. C. Was wonderful! It was modern and chic, and was baffling every on at how beautiful it was. The 2 bedroom 1 bath room I stayed in was marvelous! The beds were so comfy and the bathroom was very clean. The room I had was out looking the main street that you take to get to the hotel. It had a stunning view. I recommend this place for a getaway for anyone! Including families visiting D. C. It was beautiful and the staff and service were so polite and nice! Five stars all the way!

Good value for the price. Great breakfast buffet included in our package. We had unlocked bicycles on a rack with our van so the staff left our van parked within their site the overnight to help us out. Very accommodating.

Beautiful hotel. Check in was a breeze and the staff was very helpful. The rooms were great, with updated bathrooms. Loved the pool as well, although it was a bit chilly. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING, with made to order omlettes and waffles, and everything else was freshly made. Access to the metro made this the perfect hotel for a DC visit Would highly recommend.

Good location and service, room and comfortable spaces, however, when I booked it said Wi-Fi but not indicated which is available only in the lobby, for internet in the room there is an extra fee.

Very nice and modern hotel with easy access to the underground mall! Perfect location for tourist with only a 10 minute ride to downtown DC. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. They also offer a shuttle to the airport. ✨

This hotel only wants to SEEM "upscale" with overpriced rooms and fancy light fixtures. Several cosmetic and functional scars, room lacks a microwave (really? ), very small pools (outdoor was closed even though it was 80°+), elevators are RIDICULOUS. Decent views, comfortable beds, and internet on the TV (only about 20 actual TV channels, however) pretty close to restaurants/shopping as well. Also, an "insider" at this hotel let me know: A) DON'T drink the tap water here B) A few days before my stay, some rooms/vehicles in parking lot were broken into.

Upscale hotel with a nice restaurant; maybe a bit too large with the main lobby connecting to local shopping mall and metro station. Once we were set in right direction, we were ok. Rooms are nice with bay windows in each room, modern decor. Restaurant staff is very courteous, though maybe not NY prompt. Staff is very accommodating and it was a nice stay. Oh, and watch out for that parking fee — it's a bit high and may be worth exploring other local options.

If you’re looking at getting a good night sleep then this is NOT the hotel for you. The beds here are something you’ll find sitting outside next to a garbage can. Seriously Horrible! If you value your comfort and wish not to wake up in pain from a terrible nights sleep then you’ll heed this review and go somewhere else. I wouldn’t give these beds to the homeless because I do care, and I would want to HELP them and NOT hurt them. Everything else in the room was great! The TV is much larger than other hotels and has Netflix which is cool.

Very convenient location to DCA and there isn't much of a wait for the airport shuttle. The check in process was very quick, even though I was here for a rather large conference. The rooms are a nice size and clean. It's also a very nice venue for a convention, with the various meeting rooms being very convenient and the hotel staff being quite accommodating.

The location is great with restaurants inside the hotel as well as within walking distance. There is also a metro stop just down the road. The staff is friendly, and room service is provided. The rooms themselves are very nice. They have a decent size living/sleeping area, and the bathroom is very spacious. There is an underground parking garage as well.

Walking distance to many businesses, shopping and a multitude of restaurants. The rooms are a nice size and very very clean. I was here for a conference and it is a really nice conference facility. We had large sessions, as well as break out sessions and lunch as an entire group, all of which they were able to accommodate.

We had a great stay with our three children. Location was super convenient, loved the easy access to the metro and shopping area under the hotel without needing to go outside. Rates were great, and they gave us two free breakfasts (one adult and child) every day. The breakfast included every kind of food you would ever want for breakfast; even made to order omelettes. We stayed five nights and this was the best hotel experience we've ever had. Very family friendly, and no surprise extra charges. Everything was top rate. We will definitely stay here again!

Crystal city is better. The m lounge breakfast is awesome. Evening drinks and dessert average. No ergonomic chair at desk in room. Gold member have to ask for upgrade. Happy hour ends at 6pm. Not 607pm. Go next door.

Hotel is nicely furnished and up to date. Room is large and pleasant, with a nice sitting area and comfortable beds. Conference facilities were clean and capable of hosting a large number of attendees. Staff have been extremely friendly and helpful. Food has been quite good.

We've stayed at this property many times over the past decade. Wow, the expansive renovations just completed are top notch. The junior suite was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and spacious. The king bed was heavenly. The shower had great pressure and lots of hot water. The new M Life Lounge is awesome! The food offerings we're delicious and ample, definitely one of the best lounges we've experienced. Staff are wonderful as well. I'd like to recognize Erica, Monica, and Thon for exceptional guest service. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This property was a real mixed bag for me. The perfume everywhere was a real turn-off. Waking up at midnight to a pervasive perfume (was it in the laundry detergent too? ) did not result in a great experience. Everything about this property was very glamorous, from the glitzed-out lobby to the dimly-lit suite they put me in. I frequently found myself wishing there had been more lighting options so I could iron my shirt or hand-write a note. The bed was very easy to sleep in, though, and the room quiet. The shower and toilet were well kept, and there were plenty of electrical outlets wherever I wanted them. Staff was courteous and attentive. Executive lounge was great and featured a buffet for breakfast, as well as appetizers and beer and wine in the evenings. In the end I don't think this is the sort of place I would come back to, but if you enjoy custom fragrances and dim mood lighting, this might be right up your alley.

Stayed two nights for work and this was definitely a cut above the hotels that we normally get for that purpose. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The Elite lounge was a convenient space to get some work done before heading back to the airport, with complimentary snacks, coffee and soft drinks. The hotel also has direct access via a tunnel to the underground crystal city shops and the metro, which was a big plus in the cold. My only complaints are minor. The hotel shuttle took a long time to show up at the airport. As a Gold member, I did not get a complimentary upgrade. There is no view of anything except the tip of the Washington monument even on the top floor.

This review is more for the service at this location and not a reflection of the Hotel or any other Marriott location. The lack of assistants at this location is appalling. The person I spoke to was very helpfully to make the reservation. However, when I needed to cancel the reservation the next day it was nothing but a struggle. The first person couldn't help me, the next was super rude and I still got a confirmation email for the stay that I no longer needed. The second cancelation call was again nothing but rude people. I was told at the end of it that it had been canceled but the next Monday sure enough there was the hotel charge on my card. Tried to contact the Operations Manager who didn't answer (call or email) then called the front desk. Which told me they couldn't help and placed me on hold for 22 minutes. Final got a hold of a very nice lady (Sarah) in the finance department who took care of the issue as much as she could. Now I have to wait on the Operations Manage to see and reply to Sarah's refund request. I will not nor would I recommend staying at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in DC.

It's hard to beat the location right next to the Metro (which you can get to underground via the Crystal City Mall). My main experience here is with the Army 10-Miler and it's hard to beat the easy walking distance to the Pentagon. The rooms are price though and internet is not included. Indoor / outdoor pool was great for the kids. My only complaint was that they delivered our second crib at 11pm which woke all of us up.

Was there for a military formal. Dinner was delicious, dessert was eh. Large open spaces and plenty of bar areas for a large event. Had a great night.

I frequently travel in and out of DCA, about 4-5 times a month. This is by far my favorite hotel in the crystal city and pentagon city areas. It has an airport shuttle every 20 Minutes and has metro access without going outside. Some things that I like; Airport shuttle every 20 minutes, renovated modern rooms, always extremely clean, friendly service from the front desk, good breakfast with lounge access. The only areas that I could see for improvement would be to update the lounge to a lounge like the Washington Marriott Georgetown. The rooms really are beautiful! For a quick business stay I even prefer this hotel over the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City.

Confused when I walked into the Marriott from the parking garage, a gentlemen and an employee (Ibrahim) stopped, greeted us, and asked if we needed any assistance. After letting him know, I am looking to print something off as well as check in, he insisted that I follow him! On the short trip to the computer and check in Station Ibrahim was telling me about places that I should go visit food, sights and venues for the night life! He swiftly had me taken care of at the computer as well as checked me in, in no time. Ibrahim's customer service was outstanding. He was very respectfully, informational, and polite. The recommendations that he suggested I followed through with and they were all amazing. The room was beautiful, the sights were awesome and the rest of the staff treated us great as well. Anyone staying in THIS Marriott, try to bump into Ibrahim, he displayed being a hard worker, he is intelligent, and his simple acts of kindness made our stay at The Marriott a memorable one! Thank you Marriott && Ibrahim!

Very nice staff and hotel. Metro is attached, no need to walk out in the weather. Also walking distance to restaurants/bars, Air Force Memorial, Pentagon and nice running trails. Other major sites aren't too far over the bridge. Rooms are nice with fridges and safes. Great view from the higher floors. Only drawback was the outdoor pool was covered but inside was open. Would definitely stay again!

Fine, standard hotel. Organized staff. Some signage confusing and contradictory. Bathroom smelled sour, never found source. Waiter mixed up order slightly, and did not check if everything was OK in a timely manner. Everyone pleasant and helpful. Greeted by people who helped expedite check in.

Beds were soft, room decor was modern and relatively new. We especially loved the mirror in the room. No bath, but shower was very well-appointed. Love that it's connected to the metro.

Can't beat the location to the metro and airport. Really nice pool area. Lots of walkable dining options in Crystal City in addition to the hotel options. Keep check the price after you book. It went down twice after we booked and a quick phone call to Marriott got us the new price both times and ended up paying $87/night with AAA.

I was a guest along with 100's there for a conference. Service was exemplary. The best hotel I have ever stayed in. The food was delicious, housekeeping extremely helpful, all front desk employees were very generous with all assistance and smiles. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

I parked in your lot while on a trip (in the Crystal Gateway Marriott, 1700 S. Eads Street, Arlington, VA). I was gone for about a week during a very bad snow storm. When I returned my car battery was really dead. It was late and we were tired and I spoke to your staff about leaving the car another day. They assured me it was alright. I called a family member to come and get us and it took over an hour due to traffic. During that time (Wednesday, January 27), your front desk receptionist and the valet staff made us comfortable, suggested we have hot apple cider, kept checking on us, wanted to know if I wanted them to jumpstart my car. They were incredibly kind and never made us feel like they were anxious for us to depart. The following afternoon I returned with a towing service. I had to wait for them for almost an hour again and the receptionist again assured me she would contact me when they came, the valet staff kept an eye out for them, continued to check on me and tried to see if there was something they could do to help. As I have a Prius I wasn't sure how to jumpstart the car and didn't want to do anything that would hurt the electronics of the car so we all agreed to wait for a "car" person. I want to thank you and to let you know what a wonderful, kind and thoughtful staff you have there. I was very impressed. Please thank them for me. Gratefully, Carol Valoris.

Had a great week long stay here. This Marriott is very close to the Crystal City Metro. You are also walking distance from a bunch of good eating options. Kabob Palace is one of my favorites, or take a walk along Crystal drive there are lots fast food and higher end options to choose from. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was very helpful.

While this site includes Free Wi-Fi as a amenity of this location, this is certainly NOT the case. When we stayed at this hotel one week ago, the free Wi-Fi was only offered in the lobby, once in our room, the daily charge to use the internet was very high — so high that we walked down to the lobby when we wanted to use it, rather than pay the fee. Our room was very nice, but we had issues in the garage, couldn't use our room key to charge the $27 a day fee to our room, couldn't use a credit card either, finally resorting to inserting cash into the machine.

I had a great weekend! The room was clean and comfortable. The food was attractive and tasty — the prices were a little high. The service was friendly and helpful. The only "down" side was the construction going on in the parking garage, but that should be done soon — and then this will a perfect place to host your convention or gathering.

We purchased the room package which included free breakfast for my family and I. It was fantastic! Waffles and omelettes made to order! An abundance of bacon, eggs, fresh fruit, muffins, oatmeal bar with every topping imaginable! Biscuits and gravy, sausage, cheese potatoes, scones, toast and bagels! The rooms were clean and the cleaning staff was more than accommodating! Fresh towels daily and when they cleaned the room they even organized our toiletries! The staff was so friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay here again!

It's perfectly comfortable and the rooms are fine. Service is good in places. Facilities are all adequate. All was actually okay but for a massive, an I mean a $1500 — $1800 massive "incidentals deposit" they have charged my credit card. The stay was pre-paid from my travel agent and I find two transactions in my currency while I'm at the airport. I've just called from the airport to ask them what the additional charges are all about. The accounts person I spoke to told me that these massive charges are some kind of incidentals hold on my account. There wasn't even a mini fridge in the room! How the frack do they justify this kind of "incidentals" amount. My bank is showing two large transactions from the hotel — so much in fact, that it's impacting my ability to pay the next "incidentals" charge for the next hotel in London. Marriott said they would refund the money in 4-6 days. But the transactions are looking very much like full charges from my side with the full payment alert in email from my bank. Want an incidentals charge? Sure take $50. Need more, okay, have $100. Think you may need to replace some stolen towels, okay, make that $300. But $1 500 to $1 800? That's just ludicrous. And even if it's not ludicrous from the hotel's perspective, the least they can do is tell their guests about their crazy incidentals charges when they book or at the very least when they check in so that arrangements can be made ahead of time. Avoid this hotel if you can.

This review is for my experience with airport parking at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Parking garage in late April 2015. The night valet attendant was very rude to us for no apparent reason. The parking gate did not recognize my garage parking card since I had pre-paid for parking through a second party parking website. It was late at night, and no one was visible in the parking garage. When I called the hotel front desk, I was kindly informed the valet attendant would let us out shortly. When the valet attendant arrived, she rudely asked why we called the front desk instead of finding the valet and and rudely told us only the valet can let us out of the garage. We apologized that we weren't aware of the process, and she continued to address us in a rude manner emphasizing for future reference we need to find the valet. The was by far the worst customer service I have received in a long time and frankly I'm surprised Marriott employs such rude people.

There were several issues. 1. At check in I was told I was being give a King bed, I told them I had asked for 2 queen size beds, they said that was all they had. I told them I had 3 kids, they said they could offer a roll away bed, I asked them if they could give me two roll away beds, so they upgraded my room to a Junior Suite. Which was nice. 2. When my family and I got to the hotel at midnight the check in process was a little slow. We then were told we could park our car in the front of the hotel, so that we could unload our car. When we proceeded to go to the elevator a rude security person told us that we could only leave our car parked for 10 minutes. Give me a break it's midnight, and I have 3 kids to get into the hotel. It's not like I was going to leave it there overnight. 3. I called and asked for 3 extra pillows, they said they had only 1 extra pillow. The next morning my husband had to tell the maid to give us extra pillows. 4. The small refrigerator in the room was terrible, it did not even keep any of my items cold. Not even a can of soda would get cold. I had to keep my items in my cooler, and keep ice on them. 5. There was no microwave. I could not believe this every hotel now has a least a good little fridge, and a microwave. They just want you spend a ton of money on food. 6. You had to pay for Wi-Fi in the room. This is absolutely crazy. You should be offering free Wi-Fi for all of your guests. 7. I had to pay $27/day for parking.

TERRIBLE! A room is a room is a room, right? Sure! Until they mess up your reservation and you have to check in and out 3 times during your stay, they can't get you a receipt, then once they do, they still bill your credit card for a higher amount! Not. Worth. The. Hassle.

I stayed here probably 5 years ago and had a chance to come back again a couple weeks ago. The hotel is still just as clean and up to date as it was back then. Having easy access to the Metro is a bonus and a key reason I wanted to stay here again. All staff were friendly and the Executive Lounge was a great place to relax for breakfast.

We stayed last weekend because of a family funeral in Arlington Cemetery. This hotel was really nice and the restaurant too! The beds were very comfortable! Lidya at the front desk was great! She made sure our stay was as nice as possible.

Free airport shuttle. Comfortable bed — King size. Great location. Used the metro and buses to get around. Disappointed by not having four a. M. Wake up call. First shuttle to airport is five A. M. Hertz rental is in the lobby. Tip Dominos Pizza delivers in twenty minutes. And Rite Aide is within walking distance. Gym decent. Pool inside hotel.

Good hotel. They nickel-and-dime on services like parking and internet, but I'd stay here again. Three stars because paying $13 per day for an internet connection is aggravating.

THE WORST HOTEL EVER! WITH THE WORST ATTITUDE TO GUESTS! I stayed there for 5 nights on January! My staying was terrible! The reason is the BED BUGS! So after first night of my staying I got bitten by BED BUGS, I went to the front desks and told them about my problem, they said that they going to send some to check my room. They didn't do anything like its normal. Next morning when I woke up I saw something black running away from me and killed it on my sheets, I immediately I felt so bad smell and saw blood came out inside of that bug. It was disgusting! I took picture of it, again went to front desk and showed the picture of killed bug. Lady at the front desk said that again they going to send someone to check room, because yesterday they didn't find anything! I showed picture and ask her "is it anything? " She answered me with words which shocked me : "maybe you brought that bugs with you!? " I've been shocked! That was the moment when I understood what kind of service they have! In the evening when I returned from work I stop by front desk and ask them what's going on, they said that they didn't find anything accept the killed one! And offered me to switch room for me, I said ok. I hoped anything is over but No! After third night again I got bites as well! Front desk told me that they will send some one again!
