This was my first time visiting an Extended Stay America hotel, and unfortunately I am not impressed. The only advantage of this hotel is that its close to the highway and a shopping centre. Other than that, I had to get my room changed because the washroom wasn't cleaned and the garbage from the previous guests had not been removed. Furthermore, the new room had popcorn stuck in the air conditioner leading to ants all over that area. Also, the hotel reeks of smoke. The lobby smells horrible and my non-smoking room was not up to par. Suggestions — maybe hotel management do a thorough check of the rooms. Also, front desk staff were extremely helpful in regards to tourist attractions and getting around the DC area.

Checked in then checked right out! Room smelled like an ash tray. Beds were full size hard boxes. I requested Queen beds, Non Smoking room. Staff was very nice and refunded my cc but that takes day to process even though the payment was immediate. Very sad place. 0 stars.

Great location, friendly staff, great price.

TLDR: worth the price I paid for it which was about $55 a night through Priceline. This has all the basic amenities of a hotel; a bed, tv, AC, bathroom, fridge, microwave, and small stove top. No utensils are in the room, including a coffee maker. They must all be requested from the font desk. This used to be a smoking hotel, and you can tell as soon as you walk into your room. The first room they gave us did not have working AC/heat and a very dirty carpet that looked like it hadn't been changed since the place was built. The comforter was also dirty and had cigarette burns. The front desk was pretty helpful and friendly about it and switched us to another room. The second room was a lot better and looked more clean but still had a lingering smell of cigarettes. There are some good things about this hotel. The bed is softer than the floor. It's walking distance to a Shoppers grocery store and very close to a bus stop. It takes about 50 minutes to get to DC from here. Don't expect anymore than a $55 hotel when you stay here. If you want more out of your room other than a place to sleep, look elsewhere.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had in my entire life. The stench in the room and hallway was almost unbearable. But more offensive than smell was the fact that the smoke alarm wouldn't stop beeping. At 11:30pm, I called downstairs to ask for help because the beeping was really annoying and keeping me up. Rather than offer to help or switch rooms, the attendant in the lobby told me to check out if I didn't like it and hung up on me. I went downstairs to ask for a manager, but the attendant ignored me. It was horrible.

Dirty. Stains all over room carpet. I was very hesitant to use their provided utensils. Someone was smoking weed on my floor (I'm a healthcare professional and drug tested at minimum every 3 months). When I told the front desk I got told "well those are smoking rooms"

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The guy at the front counter was a jerk. Tried to ask him questions and he was very rude. The placed smelled really bad of smoke and pot. It was super gross inside our room, they were not clean. We stayed two nights and the maid never came between nights. You can also here everything from the other rooms and the heater is super loud. They also were suppose to have cooking utensils in the room and they did not. I would not recommend staying here at all.

Nice quiet quaint but chic. And they have real cable. Unlike a lot of main stream hotels that only give a select number of the channels like a hospital. Routine security patrols through the parking lot by the police.

Excellent customer service while visiting a friend there.

The whole idea of Extended Stay lays in comfort and convenience… This idea is lost here. Kitchenette is in room, yes but with empty cabinets. EMPTY… No coffee pot, plates, cups, spoons, pots, pans… "Nothing" Clean; No. Food, hair, toe nails left behind by past "guests". A deep cleaning is really needed. Windows; Missing screens, windows in need of repair/replacement. The deep enbedded smell of curry lingers and penetrates your person. The price is based off of location alone, convenient to DC National Mall by Metro. Without the discount offered through the Extended Stay Chain… We would not be willing to stay. The deep discounted rate helped to overlook faults.

Awesomeness. Priscilla, Mike, Rahael and the rest of the staff at ESA Landmark, have been most professional, welcoming and very consistent. They may not be completely in the know of our crisis, but transition is hard especially with a regimented autistic 5 year old. The staff here made it their business to fulfill our every need. Breakfast always out on time fresh bedding. Even assisted in helping us get transportation for my sons safe passage to and from school. And assisted in keeping a smile on his face. If you are looking for a place that may not be home but gives you a feel of home. ESA Landmark has a professional and very on point staff if people that make you feel welcome. Even give hope. Everyday I witness them hard at work. Troublshooting and getting everyone together. I will recommend ESA Landmark to my out of town friends and clients akways. So glad I picked the right place. Thanking all of you at ESA Landmark for my son not having to feel the strife 9f this change. The grounds stayed clean and kept up. Halls and stairwell up to par. GOD Bless!

Normally a decent place to stay. Full kitchen and fridge is a huge plus for me. My last stay I was dissapointed due to the fact that my toilet had urine stains on the seat cover and was leaking water from the wax ring. The room was falling apart as well. I feel like they give poor condition rooms to those who use priceline to book their hotels.

I checked in on 12-24 I was greeted by a man that was somewhat nice he checked me in gave me my keys told me policies and basic things I needed to know but I already stayed at extended stays but just in different states I already knew about the policies. After that I went up to my room (337) as soon as I walked in the room it was a smell like a urine smell I couldn’t stay in there I never had this problem before so I called my fiancé and he told me they have to give us another room. So I went down to ask the guy can I get another room because of the smell he said what it smells like smoke? I said no it smells like urine he said ok and switch the rooms I was changed from 337 to 332 so I thought. When I went upstairs the keys wouldn’t work so I had to go back down stairs and there was no one at the desk so I waited a lil boy sitting in the lobby asked me did I need someone and I said yes. So he went to go get the same guy he asked what’s wrong I said the key doesn’t work he said 331 let me go upstairs to help you find it when we are on the elevator he proceeds to say oh my god like I was wrong when he clearly wrote 332 not 331 on my paper that the cards came in then we go to the door he opens it and asks me how is the smell I said it’s fine thank you and he left.

This place is a dump. The parking lot and grounds is unkempt. Out side there were empty beer bottles in the grass, and a poorly maintained perimeter fence around the parking lot. The entire building sits behind a shopping center, and the location has the feel of a back ally you don't want to be in at night. Inside it's worse, the place smells of smoke, carpet is torn, towels are stained, room chairs are stained. No kitchen furnishings at all for an "extended stay". I thought things looked pretty bad in the elevator, but it wasn't until I stepped foot in the elevator this place was officially recognized as a ghetto. See the picture for yourself. If they can't bother to fix this, what else do they not care about?

It's absolutely the worst hotel. Workers are unkind and rude. They look like angry, don't smile at all. Bad smell, smoking smell, dirty and even do not clean up every day. One of employee said the reason why they do not clean up and act like that much rude is hotel policy. I won't be he again, never ever.

We arrive exactly at 3pm, but no one was in the front counter until 3 30, half hour waiting. We stayed in a smoking area room, but the smell was just horrrible, called the manager to have us changed, and he offer some smell sprays which he never brought. A couple days later I notice that the deposit was never reimbursed, I called the hotel and they told me they forgot. I don’t recommend this place.

Worst place in the Unite States of America. Go somewhere else. Midnite staff horrible, gave us a room that was far from clean. Did not apologize, did not say a word just gave us another room. I didn’t even finish my stay yet and I had to right this. I will be speaking to the manager tomorrow. I’m pissed.

Ugly and filthy and stinky place to food.

Fortunately we only needed to stay here overnight after checking in very late in the evening. Even with it being so late there were a lot of people outside. The room had a strange smell. The morning staff was nicer than the evening staff.

The space Olia very ugly and service did not seem friendly.

Good location and comfortable space. Breakfast can be improved. The grab and go breakfast arrangement is inadequate. Room was well cleaned upon arrival and all appliances worked well.

This place is the worst. Screwed up our reservation right off the bat. No ice machine, sticky stuff all over table by phone, bathroom countertop was falling off and hairs on the alleged clean towels. Not worth a star, but gotta put at least one.

Not good! Even the people who work here seems like they can't wait to leave. My kids asked me dad, what is that spell. Had to tell them all about Mary Jane. This place is great for people who spoke weed. You will be real comfortable here. All I can say is that I am glad I am strapped. Avoid!

I can't find a redeeming quality with this location. It is abundantly clear that cleanliness is not high on the priorities of the hotel staff. The provided linens were stained, and the bath towels still had hair from previous occupant. The room was a non-smoking room but still smelled like smoke, complete with ashes left on the night table.

This hotel has the absolute minimum that is required for the rooms to be called suites. Breakfast is coffee, oatmeal and a granola bar. The rooms are decent sized with a full size fridge, stove and sink. Not much in the way of amenities. It's clean, quiet and in a good location. I'd stay here again, can't beat the rooms for the price.

This place was awful. We got to our room and it smelled like cigarettes and mold. Once we settled in we found our room had ants crawling everywhere and hospitality did nothing about it except offer the statement "Well it's the summer time and that usually happens". Their breakfast selection was nothing more than packaged muffins, granola bars, and apples. Better off spending more money for something with peace of mind.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Half of the outlets didn't work. There was a black ant problem. The free Wi-Fi is a joke. It took a long time to load email and if you need to download something… hahaha you'll be waiting hours for even something small. You cannot watch YouTube on it either. Of course you can pay extra for "faster" internet that you get included in any other hotel. You have to pay extra for housekeeping too which is an included service with any other hotel. To get the cooking utensils, you have to put a deposit on them, even for a coffee maker that comes in any other hotel. Definitely not worth the over $100 a night price. They nickel and dime you for services that are standard anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and get a room at any other hotel.

I'm not satisfied, employees are rude.

Spent one night. Clean, quiet and spacious. Slow Wi-Fi but working. Customer service was also good.

Room was clean. New laminate flooring in bathroom and kitchen area, looked great. Staff was friendly. Grocery store very close to stock the fridge. Flat screen TV with lots of channels. Better then I had expected!

I liked the staff very nice rooms are very. Clean would definitely come again.

I had a wild party and left "stains" all over the room. They did not even say anything about the foot marks I left on the head board! Top notch hotel. Clean rooms. Nice flat screen. Close to shopping. Will definitely stay here again.

Well at first it looked very welcoming and cozy. But as soon as I got in my room kind of looked like a employee break room. When I went to use the bathroom the handle fell off and I had to fiddle with the inside components to open it. I told the man up front and he said he would have I fixed by tomorrow. Well I left the hotel the next day to go sightseeing and took down the do not disturb sign and left for the whole day. When I got back to the hotel room service hadn't even been there and the door knob hadn't been fixed either. So much for a cozy welcoming hotel.

DON'T STAY HERE! My husband and I needed an extended stay because we were relocating for work and needed to look for an apartment. The reasons I dislike this place are 1) It is in the hood. I was afraid to not take EVERYTHING out of my car for fear it would be stolen. 2) I walked in and the front desk area REEKED of smoke. Gross. 3) Our non-smoking room also reeked of smoke and was disgusting. After lighting like 20 matches and two candles it was still nasty. 4) the carpet was coming up off the floor as was the kitchen flooring. 5) the kitchen utensils had rust on them. NASTY 6) the bathroom was full of rust stains and was missing the top of one of the faucets so I could see all the nasty mold inside. 7) the chair had white stains ALL over it. I'll let you be the judge of what it was from. 8) there were feet marks on the glass of the picture above the bed. Again. Gross 9) the bed was hard, had stains, burn holes and hairs on it. This place is a dump and should be shut down. We stayed the night ONLY because we arrived at 11 pm. We left the next morning for another extended stay that is wonderful and clean and smoke free.

I was in Northern Va for a three-day seminar this week and was traveling with my family. We stayed at the Extended Stay America and would absolutely stay there again. First of all, after comparison-shopping the local hotels, the price for this one was an excellent deal. Additionally, the adjoining mall has a Target, Costco, Starbucks, Chipotle, Cici's etc. And there's a Red Robin and a Famous Dave's in the hotel parking lot. So it was great knowing if we needed food or basically anything it was right there. We arrived considerably early and they found us a room well before check-in time. The room was clean and spacious. Every staff member I encountered during our stay was friendly and welcoming. I asked if we could check out late since my seminar ran until afternoon — — no problem at all, I was told. Wow! During our stay I couldn't get my laptop to connect to the internet and the night clerk (who was obviously more tech-savvy than me) offered free IT help. Finally, the clerk who checked us out called us minutes after we left to make sure that the cash we'd left in the room was not an oversight (it was a tip for housekeeping). To recap — clean, affordable, accommodating, friendly, honest and convenient. Thumbs up.

Although the price was the lowest around. It showed. I've had problems with my room since I arrived. I'm checking out early, i'm so dissatisfied. Maintenance is non-existent.

I stayed at this hotel during the Rolling Thunder event in DC May 2009. I have stayed at hotels nicer for this price, $224 for 2 nights including the taxes. There is not any room service during your stay, so if you want clean sheets or clean towels you have to get them yourself. There also is no courtesy shampoo, so make sure you bring your own. I was given 1 pre filled coffee filter to brew but no cream or sugar packets. Not really a good hotel for the money. Unless you absolutely don't want any service. I had another friend stay at another one in DC during the same time and his was exactly the same. Evidently, it is not just that Extended stay that is ran like that alone, that being said, I won't ever stay at another one. Should be considered a motel not hotel.
