I like this motel it was clean and a good view of the beach.

Had a lovely stay with my daughter. Enjoyed our evening on the balcony. Our room was perfect with the MOST comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location near the pier was also great because it puts you close to everything. We will definitely be back for a longer stay when things are closer to normal.

We have been coming here since our BOYS were very young! And we highly recommend it! It is centrally located and it is conveniently located!

1st time on Virginia beach! We haven’t been disappointed! … Front desk staff are friendly and helpful … our housekeeper “Na-Na” has been excellent … rooms possess quality & are clean! Location was perfect for us as well … I only wish the pool stayed open a tad longer … :) Still 2 thumbs up! We Will stay here again! ❤️

Kudos to Jimi and the staff in the Cafe — they were very accommodating, hospitable and entertaining! Needless to say the service and food was outstanding!

Everything was more than great at my stay there, knowledgeable staff and beautiful rooms, with a fishing pier out back, I could live there.

We took our first trip to Virginia Beach last weekend and stayed with The Breakers Resort Inn. We LOVED IT! We’ve stayed at numerous hotels in the past and have never enjoyed one as much as we did this one. The rooms were cozy, we had a balcony with a view of the beach, the pool was heated (which felt nice in the evenings after coming back from the beach). The staff were absolutely wonderful! From the front desk to housekeeping. We can’t wait to plan another trip to Virginia Beach just to stay here again!

I’ve been to Virginia Beach many times and this hotel is probably the best if not top 3. The hotel is very clean and the room sizes are huge compared to competitors. The rooms have many amenities that you wouldn’t expect for the price of the room. The in room jacuzzi and king bed was superb. If you’re looking for a romantic get away or want to relax this hotel is one of the last on the oceanfront with a jacuzzi in room. The location and balcony can’t be beat. Hotel staff was very friendly and the cafe is very convenient. I will definitely be back any time I visit the area, just please don’t get rid of the jacuzzi rooms if you remodel.

This hotel has friendly staff and is right on the beach. It is definitely family friendly and is in a great location. The room was nice. The bathtub drained slow and it could've used a little more TLC but it is an older hotel. There is only one elevator but it worked! And it gave you the opportunity to meet others in the hotel. We didn't get a chance to eat at the diner but the menu looked great and the prices were moderate.

I've stayed at quite a few hotels along Atlantic Ave during many, many trips to Virginia Beach and this is by far the best! The room was spacious, clean and the staff was very friendly. Although the decor is a little dated, it's still cute and comfortable. The location is fantastic! And you can't beat the ocean view from the balcony. We will definitely be back!

We have stayed at other facilities on the beach. Nothing compares to the breakers service and room quality. Recommended to everyone! Awesome staff, great prices both hotel and the diner. Most definitely will be back next year.

Older hotel, small pool, one elevator. But great customer service. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are very clean! Right next to the peer. Reasonably priced! I would definitely stay again.

This was our second time staying here. The first time we had a king jacuzzi room. This time was the penthouse suite. We were so very satisfied with our stay here that we will probably be staying here whenever we visit va beach. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and very helpful, even to the point of telling us what to look out for on our way back home. The view from our room was amazing, so much so that we spent most of our time on the deck! We couldn't have asked for a better vacation! We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

Very personable staff. Room was ready upon checkin. Parking is very tight and the 1 elevator can be slow at times. I plan on returning as the hotel is ocean front, reasonably priced and kid friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is really friendly and helpful, and our room was way more spacious than we expected. Our in room jacuzzi was awesome! Had to take a star away because the facilities are very dated, and the hair dryer and at least one plug in the room were non functional. There were a couple areas in the room in need of some additional cleaning /dusting. But overall very nice place to stay.

Nice place with a great view of the beach! The Jacuzzi room was great! Food at the restaurant inside the hotel with great. The clerk who checked us in, could use a retraining in service as she was not very warm, inviting, interactive… idk maybe she was tired but she was efficient enough to check us in (just not with a smile)

Great experience! Took my wife here for her birthday got the honeymoon package so we got the king room that has an in room jacuzzi tub, a patio and a roof top deck. Great place great staff and very affordable.

My husband and I took advantage of the $65 off season, same day reservation deal. We stayed on the 8th floor and the room had dated decor but new carpet, comfortable beds and the room seemed clean. (I didn't go looking for defects with the room, but there were no glaring issues with cleanliness either. ) All of the rooms at this hotel have ocean views. Both times we interacted with the staff it was pleasant. The only items worth mentioning in this review that detracted from the experience were 1. The door didn't automatically lock, we had to pull it closed. 2. The hall smelled like marijuana.

Check-in was a breeze even though we booked last minute. The room was a little small but clean. We had a top floor room that had a balcony and a private rooftop deck. Great view and the staff was courteous.

My boyfriend and I stayed for a few nights last week and simply wanted a hotel on the beach with a king size bed and a jacuzzi in the room. This place checked all the boxes without breaking the bank. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is that the mattress was too hard, but that may just be a personal preference. The location is perfect and whole the place could use some updates, it was clean to the best of my ability to tell. Would stay there again. Hint — the hotel itself when called, had cheaper rates than some of the hotel shopping websites.

From the time. Of booking the room, speaking to someone regarding what they offered, checking in, 2 night stay to cleanliness of all aspects we were exceptionally pleased with our visit. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

The view was the best! Even though it was colder than… well colder than cold the room was toasty and the ocean was beautiful. We had a king room with a Jacuzzi tub. I could have stayed in that tub all evening it was so relaxing. The bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked but that is subjective. In the morning we had breakfast at their small but lovely diner. They serve breakfast and lunch. It was very good. The service was great. I wish that we could have stayed longer but we couldn't. I hope to stay there again. It was A+ as far as I was concerned. My husband agrees. P. S. This is not a name brand hotel. It doesn't look like all that from the outside but don't pass it by. A very pleasant surprise! I will stay here again and I will definitely recommend the Breakers tto my family and friends.

Have stayed at the Breaker Resort several times in the past years and always have a pleasant experience. Great ocean front views of the pier, walking distance to restaurants and helpful, pleasant staff. The rooms are not high end but then again, neither is the price. Most importantly, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Highly recommend the suites if traveling with family. Plan to stay again later this year.

For a last second reservation… because my other reservation was canceled by accident (the other hotel rep) … I was a greatful to find something for my family if 5 in the middle of the night but Joanne was rude and gave the impression that we were inconveniencing her and knew we where in a pickle. But for $80 less then the other hotel I feel I should have gotten a much better price for the lack of amenities here compared to what I was suppose to have gotten. Our bedding was very damp so in the middle of the night trying ro fall asleep in a muggy room with a damp bed to sleep in did not help matters. On the plus side a jackhammer out side my room first thing in the am is just what I needed to make my experience even better. This I not a 3 star hotel it is more equivalent to 1 maybe 1 1/2 And I has a curfew of midnight where you have call someone to let you in … what in that.

Nice people. Great view. Comfortable and cozy. Thanks for welcoming me for my small stay. If you guys have a car, the lot is alil small. And Pool is for 14 capacity. Other then that. Cool spot to relax.

The room is clean and as advertised, right on the beach with a wonderful view from the balcony. The only issue I had was not being able to charge the first night on a different card. They had already charged it before I got here and refused to reverse it for me. The shower needed a little work, but all in all I would recommend it to anyone on a budget.

We visited in June. It's not bad at all. I found them affordable, clean and accommodating. However there are no frills at this older location — which was okay for us since we were working on a budget. Great views and right on the beach. They offer a pool but it is tiny! Squeezing a max of 8 people in there would be a feat. Parking is also an adventure. Would recommend.

Our first time going to Virginia Beach, and I couldn't be happier with the choice of hotel! Everyone was friendly, especially Katie at the cafe! Our room was clean, the Wi-Fi worked well, and we had HBO! We couldn't hear others in the rooms next to ours, which was a huge plus (I expected to hear a little noise, as it's summer vacation, but no). Parking is a little odd, and the hallways could be cooler, but all in all it's exactly what we wanted. When we plan our next VA Beach trip, we will be making reservations here!

Great location next to beach within walking distance of most things. Lot's of places toel eat closeby diverse choices of cuisine. Complimentary bikes are quite nice aw there is a designated bike path along the beach. Employees are friendly and rooms are comfortable. Only complaint would be that the bikes themselves, while they do get the job done, are designed in a way that makes me lose faith in production companies with how unintuitive and uncomfortable the handles are but maybe that's just me.

First time at Virginia Beach, and The Breakers was perfect! Right on the beach, the staff was great, and they really took care of us. Free bike rental, great little cafe, and every room has an ocean view. Glad to support one of, if not the only independent family run place on the beach. We'll definitely be back… already planning for next year.

I didn't really believe that I could come on vacation in June and actually find a place that was nice but still reasonable. Well I'm happy to say I found a place to stay every year. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. And I'm not spending every dime to stay here. Thanks.

Great location with all oceanfront rooms that were clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff (except for the nighttime front desk service who I'm pretty sure has never smiled in her life). Free hour long bike rentals were nice and we never had to wait for one. Breakfast in the cafe was affordable and delicious! Would easily stay here again.

Not the fanciest hotel in my opinion but the rooms were fantastic. One is that the staff is polite. Second of all is the great view of the ocean. Third is that it is affordable for anyone to stay. Fourth is the fact that the rooms are clean. Last is the dinners food, It has great food and service. The breakers is a great hotel to go to.

Newbies to Virginia Beach. Booked jacuzzi room online… nice room but no kitchenette, so asked at desk to be changed to suite with kitchenette, done for small up charge… HUGE room, nice views on 3 sides. The ocean view is amazing! We enjoyed the pool on deck that faces the ocean. Desk said pool is heated, well it was 90 degrees! Very nice on this cool day (may 22nd 72 degrees). L saw employee check water 2 times today and post on chart at pool deck. Look forward to our next visit… maybe try the penthouse. The staff have been friendly and courteous making our vacation a pleasure.

We had a very enjoyable experience staying here. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, the staff was very friendly & the view was amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

It was really close to the beach and had a pool. The pool was pretty small. Our room key wouldnt work a few times but it worked out.

If you want disappointment this is definitely the hotel for you! The front office staff was extremely disrespectful and had nasty attitudes. The rooms were hideous and some even had holes in the wall. The most disappointing aspect is the elevator system, however. The hotel only had one elevator that was used by guests AND staff. The staff would fill the elevator and the guests had to wait, which should not have been the case. The pool was warm, however extremely small. There were individuals that were not staying at the hotel that used the pool, making it crowded and uncomfortable for the people actually paying to stay there. The best and only good part about this hotel was the view.

Friendly staff, great restaurant for breakfast and lunch only. Our room w as comfortable, we were right on the beach, all rooms had balconies and great views of the ocean.

Stayed here in the Easter weekend and got a good price for 3 nights stay. Nice oceanfront rooms. Friendly staff and clean place. They have the free bikes which we enjoyed riding every morning. Nice location and close to all major restaurant and pubs. Will definitely come back to stay here on my next visit.

The view was great, the waitress at the dinner was great. The front counter was manned by a very very nasty red head! she had no personally at all, as soon as you seen her you knew right away what she was like. the elevator was broke down for a couple hrs. Im sorry to say I will not recommend this "resort inn" to any one.

Great food and service in the lounge. Jimmi Fisher is a awesome waitress. She even puts up with me eating my pancakes with ketchup.

The room was OK it's clean, customer service is great, people are polite.

First of all, even though it may be a family run business, the people at the front desk were less than friendly. We had said there would be 4 of us with 2 beds needed and there were only four of us standing there. Apparently the lady did not think the African-American girl was with us, although my children are of mixed heritage. My daughter asked about a military discount as she is active military and they gave her $5.00 off! Since we came in 2 vehicles, there was an extra $25 dollar fee to park in a lot that was next door ans very inconvenient. I had to travel the sidewalk to get to my vehicle. The idea was for my daughter to park her car at the hotel however this proved futile also since on our second night she too had to park in the far parking lot! When I complained the next day, I was told I had been charged for 3 vehicles! Needless to say at my insistence the $75 was reimbursed. We were not told about any bicycles available and I had to go through the lobby wet to get to the beach since they had "forgotten" to open the lock at the bottom steps of the pool! Yes it was centrally located however I found the friendliest person there to be the waitress in the cafe and the food was good and reasonable. The rooms were nice but in order to see over the balcony I had to rock backwards in a chair. I realize balconies have standards but this was a bit much. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone American owned or not.

Great American family owned hotel! It is small but right in the middle of the board walk. Don't let the great price fool you either. There service is great! We didn't want maid service so they made us up a laundry basket of new fresh towels that were available at the front desk. They had bikes for us to use so we didn't have to rent them. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only downside was they had a small pool but we were there for the beach so we didn't care. All rooms have balcony's with great views of the ocean.

When my band, THE MAIN EVENT, plays at The Upper Deck, this is our choice.

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Virginia beach. I can not say enough good things about this hotel. I will say if your looking for the Hilton then head up the beach and pay double or triple. If your looking for a clean, friendly and quiet place to stay for a reasonable price. Then this is perfect. Its location couldn't be better, central to everything. The staff was great, (American) family owned, always a plus. Anything we asked for they did. My kids noticed the owners personal boogy boards and asked to use them all before I could correct them they handed them over, asking only that we made sure they found their way home. You don't find service like that anymore. The cleaning staff was great, fresh towels everyday first thing and filled any request right away. They have a nice restaurant in the hotel that is open for breakfast and lunch. Try to find a cheaper meal on the strip and the food was good. Yes, the elevator is slow. Your on vacation, relax it gets you there. The weather was not the best one of the days we were there and they posted rainy day vacation ideas in the elevator, nice touch. The building isn't the newest or the greatest but you can tell the family puts their heart and soul into making it nice. I stayed here because of other reviews that said this is the only place they and their family stay. Now I can agree, if my family is in Virginia beach, then breakers will be our home while we are there.
