THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! The "female" (being nice) is beyond rude. No soap in the room. Only two towels. Parking is limited. Keycards work half the time, so you have to go to the front desk to the unjoyous female to have it fixed. No microwave. Place is more like a frat house. No security,, all doors are unlocked. Save yourself and just sleep in your car.

Bed bugs, would not recommend this location. Cleanliness is lacking in the business!
Had to switch rooms twice!

This has been one of the worst hotels ive ever stayed in… not because the rooms arent nice. Other than they smell terrible. Like a wet dog. The bed is comfy and the pillows are awesome. Thats about it. There are kids runking up and down the halls and stair ways all hours of the night. Even at 2-4am… currently as inpost this there is a man screaming cuss words in the hall. Apparently whoever Debbie is pissed him off… there is NO hot water… so I just took a cold ass shower… and the worst of all. The fire alar. That went off at 1:20 am this morning… we grabbed some of our stuff and hurried down the stairs and by the lady at the desk that didnt even try to talk to anyone and tell them it was a false alarm… it was scary… this place is absolutely nuts… could be a nice place but. Well, its not.

Toilet overflowed first day. Next day room wasn’t cleaned at all. Asked front desk for help with the situation and all she said was I can give you more towels. Did she? Hell no. Never agsin.

Had to switch our rooms 3 times due to one room smells like weed, 2nd room they gave us bed wasn't made since previous guest and 3rd room had sand in our bed. Left this nasty hotel and went back and slept at the airport. This place was a dump!

Just wasn’t a great experience as many hotels I stay in this was the worse just noisy went to sleep at 2 am and was up by 7 to go home and go to sleep comfortable.

Nice location but can be difficult to turn into during rush times (competing against outlets traffic). Building is under renovation as well as the parking lot which makes it a bit difficult to navigate to the spots. Didn't use the pool but it seems they provided towels. Hot breakfast buffet was alright but a bit crazy with the amount of people coming in last minute. Room was fine with a large bed, working AC, but service was lacking. They only change towels every 3 days and not once in my 3 night stay did they come make the bed or seemingly do much else with the room.

I'm giving one star because there wasn't any integers with a negative to make a positive option. There was nothing that advertised quality during my stay. Thank you for marketing or whoever planned this location to be near airport. Health inspectors need to surprise visit this site. This hotel is conveniently located to airport. The room we stayed in was the PITS! We walked on the elevator it was dirty, smelly and Hot. The hallway had not been vacuumed. It's5:30 on Friday evening when guests were checking in. The air quality in the room was not fresh, the refrigerator was not working, room was not vacuumed. The refrigerator smelled like stale garlic and in dire need of defrosting. My mother did daily hygiene on side of tub because inside of tub had bathtub dark scum rings. Customer service was never available. We called and called but no response. We then made a trip to the front desk to get a working iron. The lobby was infested with flies that crawed over the tables and the pancakes. Disappointed and will not stay here again. Dropping the Mic.

One star is too good for them! We are 7 adults 4 of which that are handicapped and where do they have us on the 3 floor in non handicapped room. My bed last night was the floor because no they don't have roll way beds or pull out couches like their website/ front desk says. No luggage carts … to aid the situation. Also 3 broken ice machines… I had to leave the hotel because even the kitchen area had no ice… also the lights choose to work when they want too. I strongly recommend you go somewhere else if you have handicapped people.

I attended a business meeting here. The room was set up nicely as requested. The breakfast items were delicious, especially the pound cake. And most importantly, the coffee was fabulous.

The place has seen better days. But the staff was nice, and professional, courteous. Good place, just needs redecorating and updating. Looks like it's stuck in the eighties.

Modest hotel nothing fancy. The location is close to the mall. It's easy to spot from the road. The hotel has easy access to the highway. A free hot breakfast is included with your stay. I wouldn't stay at this location again due to the customer service. I encountered a rude front desk clerk. When I raised my concern to a manager she was not much help eather.

Staff were so friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast. Best of all I slept like a baby, the bed was so comfortable… For two people the room was perfect…

Room was clean & smelled fresh. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Now for reasons it got a 3 vs 5 star rating… Guest restroom in lobby area was disgusting & when we told front desk she said they know it is, but don't think they were real concerned about cleaning it because they said they usually just use one of the empty rooms instead. Rooms need some kind of soundproofing because we could hear everything going on in our neighbors' rooms at 2AM & someone had their TV on all night long and it was like it was sitting on our headboard! I don't normally complain about water being too hot, but even with the shower knob turned completely to cold it was way too hot and kiddos wouldn't be able to handle it. I think something may have been wrong with the shower knob because on the last day it ended up coming off in my hand when I turned it on. Also, we smelled the distinct aroma of someone smoking dope in the parking lot when we came back to room Friday night & then again on Saturday morning… wouldn't want my kids around that situation.

It’s ok. The location is the worst. Good luck at the light to get out. I stayed here on a business trip, to get away from the noisy beach front. I picked this place because it had a pool… the pool was nasty. They don’t offer you fresh towels everyday, because they are being environmentally conscious. That is code for cheap. The bed was comfortable and the place has a nice complimentary breakfast. The room was clean. If you’re a gym enthusiast… the gym is an absolute joke. No bugs, which is always good. Sweet outdoor mall, with high end shops, right down the road.

Location was easy to find, lots of construction right now. AC was a little wonky and the room was a little dirty. There were stains that looked like period stains on the comforter and other bodily fluids on the floor. Breakfast wasn't anything to behold. Orange juice was good though!

Its ok. Kind of over priced. Theres 2 beds and a small bathroom as well as a closet, but the room is small. The beds are pretty stiff and the air conditioner is loud, theres tons of smokers at the entrance, service is horrible, its smells bad and the free breakfast is basic. Not worth the price.

The rooms were spacious and cozy, and clean. The staff was accommodating and park in as plentiful.

Only reason they get a 2 is because the woman that helped me when I checked in was super nice. I woke up to be told from someone outside women from the hotel were looking around my truck, so I questioned when I got inside. I was parked out of the way in a wide driveway, and they seemed to have a issue with that. I’m a paying customer. Meanwhile there’s the scent of weed and smoke on every floor people being loud. Meanwhile they need to snoop around my trucks and the general manager took the parking pass out of my window. That’s some great customer service.

Terrible. The whole place smells bad. There are smokers at all entrances and even gathered in the small space between the indoor pool and comfort suites. The smoke has nowhere to go but inside the pool room. I could not let my child swim and she cried for hours. The service is terrible. Our shower door had a big gap that just poured water into the floor. They didn't have the parts to fix it even though it is an old problem. We were told we had to be out in just a few minutes or we would be charged even though we were forced to cancel our room.

Although a sign said they were in the process of doing renovations the place was very nice in appearance, clean. The room we had was nicely done, and very comfortable. We had a nice stay, it was very quiet, and peaceful. I will definitely stay there again.

I visited this hotel because a couple friends of mine work there. I had the opportunity to walk the property and see a couple rooms. This property is gorgeous and right by the premium outlets. I highly recommend. I'll be getting a room soon myself.

THE GOOD PART: I would have given this hotel a 5 star rating if I could have stayed. Only reason it's getting two stars is because it was very nice atmosphere and pet friendly. THE BAD PART: I was about to leave out my room when the people in the room next to us had there dog in the hall and as soon as I opened my door their dog tried to enter my room and naturally me dog was curious what was coming up to his owner ready to protect… and then: My dog was attacked by another guests dog and the hotel made my guests and I leave! I didn't even report the attack the people whose dog attacked my dog did because they knew that they were at fault but I wasn't worried. My dog was fine as a pet owner it happens! I asked to review the video of what was supposedly the dog fighting but I wasn't allowed to see it! Then they refused to refund my pet fee! The front desk associate (a light skinned black woman with a raggedy weave, not the nice woman I originally checked in) was rude and told me to "wait on my refund cause I wasnt getting one" I Had to call Choice Hotels Corporate office to have them refund my money. Horrible service not up to CH par! MY ADVICE: STAY AT THE SLEEP INN ATTACHED TO IT!

Meh, rooms are fine. Bed and pillows comfy. The breakfast I am sure takes years off your life and the coffee is worse then the old Army messhall coffee I remember. If you just need a place to rest your head its ok. On my trip through here last (2 days ago) I stayed at the Laquinta and that was a bit better and cheaper. Again these are just places to lay your head. If you are staying for an event or sight seeing spend more money if you can afford and stay somewhere nicer.

So far it's not bad but the amount of dirt in the room is nasty. Hoping the brown stuff around the toilet is not poop. They call this a suite.

Room was nice for the price. Service was terrible. Asked for my room to be cleaned while I was away all of that day only to come back to a dirty room. Went to the front desk and told them the girl was not customer friendly. Call the customer relations number only to speak with someone who can't speak English very clear and I had the hardest time understanding him. So I just hung up after 7 or more times asking him to repeat what he was saying. Will never stay at a Choice Hotel again. Worse experience ever!

This hotel looks nice from the outside but inside it was a horrible experience. The toilet kept running after numerous calls for maintenance to come and fix it. The female front desk attendant after 4pm, has the nastiest rudest attitude. They had fan blowers on each floor in the hallways. Icemachine broken on the first floor. The best part was the powered eggs. Cleaning lady left her ids in my room.

I love the hotel lots of friendly staff pool, restaurant, and free breakfast. Its about a 4 star hotel next to a mall. It located on the edge of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

I stated at the Sleep Inn portion of this complex. It's combined with the Quality Inn. The rooms are reasonably priced, they are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet offers delicious, home-style food. I've stayed on the Quality Inn side before as well and I would stay at either side again.

The worst hotel I've stayed at. I'm not a picky person when it comes to hotels as long as the rooms are clean and the people are nice. But this place I have no words. First, it took us 3 tries and a whole day to get just a remote for a TV that apparently we were the only ones to have, the toilet was clogged and the rooms are really dirty. We currently have no hot water and no one was notified the breakfast we just play for a low budget hotel. Hopefully when we check out when a discount for this horrible stay. By the way if I could give 0 stars I would.

Attended a professional event here. Food for lunch was good. Staff was very friendly. I'm not sure if the company presenting or the hotel provided the projector, but the projector cut off a side of the presentation; making it difficult to read the slides.

Our family stayed at the hotel for one night, all I can say is I’m glad we only had stay one night. As frequent traveler, I can truly say this is the lowest rating I’ve ever given a hotel. Aside from the conditions of the hotel, the staff was absolutely the worst I’ve ever encountered. In my opinion based on what I witnessed, the staffs goal was to find any reason not to check you in vs ensuring that you were able to experience peaceful night of comfort and sleep. Especially if you booked via a third party. I visited the front desk a few times and each time their was a guest or potential guest working to resolve an issue with their stay. The demeanor of the staff was terrible and the guest issues didn’t seem to be resolved. It was as if the staff took pleasure saying no. I overheard the manager and the front desk taking in private how they would ensure that a guest wasn’t able to check in. The hotel wasn’t clean and there was smoke throughout each floor I visited. It appeared the pool water hasn’t been changed in months. The gym equipment didn’t work… this hotel truly shows signs of neglect, and a need for major renovation. I will say, the nightly rate was attractive for what you get…

We were there for a college visit and chose this hotel for it's proximity to campus. The staff was helpful and courteous, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast selection was basic but adequate. My only complaint would be noisy guests on our floor and ridiculously bad traffic in the area… neither of which was the fault of the hotel.

Another night I’m out with my sweet heart. Working hard nights at the ports makes theses cheap hotels quick to get too! Not the best but best in price when meeting my boo.

It was perfect not to have to leave the dog anywhere and it was only a $15 fee.

My visit the sleep was good after you got through the unsalted parking lot. Being disabled not one handicapped parking place was cleared. So over all I'd rated my stay 69%

The rooms were relatively clean, noticable remodel. But the lobby leaves much to be desired. Guest services was friendly and helpful.

This is about what you would expect from a budget hotel as far as room quality goes. The rooms are cleab and cozy. I was impressed with the breakfast there. Plenty of hot options (eggs, sausages, grits, waffles etc) which is more than usual for free continental breakfast. The largest negative I had was the relative isolation. I travel with a tractor trailer (having parking for it is an obvious plus) which makes it difficult to travel for food. We ended up ordering in. Overall, a reasonable choice for the budget traveler.

Other guests made so much noise into late night that it was hard to sleep. The second night was perfect. The breakfast and service were great.

For the price you will not find a better hotel in this area… clean… big rooms… indoor pool… restaurant with great food in the lobby. I will be here for 6 months working on base… and am grateful I booked here.

I love this hotel, very clean to be under renovation. My children and I needed a break from home (grandmother's house along with two teenagers) and it's always hecked in the home. I'm a cancer patient who's receiving chemotherapy and I can't handle all the yelling and fussing because my port runs through my heart and can cause me to have a heart attach so I decided to relax for a few days. The night staff are AWESOME MUST I SAY very friendly and informational. Thank you guys.

Upon checking in, the front desk employee had no idea how to do much of anything. He took more than 20 minutes to get us checked in. We told him we had a dog then he proceeded to put on a dog free floor so we had to move rooms the next day. The back entrance, which was closest to our room, kept disabling our keys. We brought it up to the front desk and she proceeded to blame us as the problem. They’re was construction/remodeling going on and another gentleman from the hotel let us in the back and told us that it was actually the keys. It wasn’t us going crazy. We booked through the choice website and was not told by the website or the hotel staff that we booked it as a promotional package. We needed to cut our stay by one night and they charged us an additional $30 because of said promotion we had no knowledge of. They refused to waive the fee and told us we had to pay it or stay the last night and pay the full $65 for the room. Our first room wouldn’t stay cooled down. Lastly, our door to our room was definitely broken. We had to slam it just to get it to close. Just decaf coffee available in the room too.

Upon entering the lobby, the appearance was somewhat depressing. The lobby furniture was stained and way outdated. Looked like it had been there for decades without washing. The carpets were stained notably in the lobby but all through the hallways as well. The rooms were clean, but only a shower, no bath and there was absolutely no room to set makeup or toiletries down near the sink. The staff was incredibly kind and courteous. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. I'm used to staying in Hilton hotels, and boy, what a difference!

My stay at the inn was enjoyable. I don't have much experience with hotels and was attending to visit my brother at the Navy base. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. I had slight issues with checking in, as I'm only 19, so I was confused as to why I was allowed to even book the room in my name if I wouldn't be able to check in without putting it in my mother's. The rooms were small, but felt cozy enough. Most of the visit wasn't spent inside of the room, so it didn't really matter. One highlight is that the staff doesn't snoop through belongings. I had received a call making sure that I hadn't forgot to check out because the cleaning staff didn't see any of our stuff in the room as I had put it in the room's closet prior to us leaving for the day. It made me feel as if my stuff was in good hands because the staff didn't want to search for it. The breakfast was mediocre, but it wasn't bad. Do it yourself waffles as well as breads, eggs, oatmeal, and grits. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I'd recommend this hotel.

The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. Our first night there the air conditioner wasn't working, told the front desk and within a half hour a new one was in place. The breakfast was nice.

No quality found here. Air-conditioning did not work. Staff told us it was going to be fixed while we were gone to an event. When we returned to our room, it was not. Staff was less than cordial about moving us to another room. In the second room, we found some disgusting brown liquid had been splattered beside the toilet paper dispenser. I did not ask for yet another room because it was late and I just wanted the whole experience to be over! Overall the facility seems dirty and outdated. We will never stay there again! I am surprised that this is a Choice Hotel property. Certainly below their standards.

It's great for what you pay the staff are very friendly Irish it an be custom service oriented from front desk to housekeeping and breakfast attendants. They made it with while. While it is dated, need for upgrade, broken ice machines, new bedding, and carpet you are only a 10 — 15 commute from ocean front hot full breakfast buffet. Clean, ATM in the hotel, concierge, indoor pool, small fitness room with treadmill, elliptical, and stair climber. There's also a 24 hr store inside hotel fully stocked with drinks, snacks, and microwaveable foods. What more can you ask for. To top it all off, the hotel is at the corner of the newest shopping outlet almost walking distance away. I'd stay again.

The beds were beyond comfortable. My only complaint was the breakfast had a lot of variety, but want very tasty. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

Over all stay at Sleep Inn was excellent. The staff was welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast food was tasty, but cold. Kitchen staff should consider covering food to keep it hot. I will definitely consider recommending Sleep Inn to family and friends.

Bed sheets smelled funny like they'd been washed but not dried. Smelled kind of moldy. The carpet was unglued from the walls. The elevators constantly got stuck and the pool is absolutely disgusting. Breakfast was really good. The housekeepers were rude and didn't give me what I asked nicely for many times. The people at the front desk were very nice though.

I loved it here. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. I had such a great experience with my family. We had a good breakfast and also enjoy the free Wi-Fi and swimming pool. The prices were reasonable as well and the room was spacious. I will recommend this place to anyone. It was a blast.

Checked into a room with for people. Had to ask for towels, wash cloths, tissues, roll of toilet paper, and a privacy door hanger (which we never got). Manager full of excuses not accommodating at all. Staff not afraid to speak or show their thoughts of the guests. Hotel is in deep need of repair. Breakfast was ok except we were rushed. The front desk staff are friendly and accommodating. However I was annoyed with housekeeping. If you want a quiet stay don't go to this hotel. They start vacuuming early in the morning so sleeping in is impossible. I didn't have a do not disturb sign in my room so when housekeeping knocked on my door I said I didn't want any service. The lady said ok and left. She then came and said I needed to sign a piece of paper verifying I didn't want any service for her boss. Very annoying. I just wanted to be left alone.

Nice and safe hotel for the holidays vacation. The breakfast are awesome, the inside pool is even better for kids, and the price is very reasonable. It's about 14-15 miles away from the beach but getting a parking space here is a peaceful, you won't have to drive around for hours.

Place was adequate. I reserved a king size bed, they gave me a room with 2 doubles. Room wasn't very clean, but the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was the best part. They have actual eggs, not those powdered rubber ones other places have. The construction going on on the road outside the hotel is a massive disconvenience, but that's out of the property's hands.

Room was acceptably comfortable, strange smell on part of the mattress. TV, coffee maker, fridge all provided. Disappointing breakfast.

Rooms? they're okay it couldve been cleaner for sure. Not cheap enough for them to not be clean. And there was a dripping noise above my head that woke me up during the night. When I tried to call front desk my phone wasnt working. Staff? A woman at the front desk had her kid behind the front desk with her and running around the lobby smh. I was told there was a free shuttle that runs on the hour but when I checked out the guy at front desk told me there was no driver for the shuttle. Shuttle is only ran by appt. He offered no help to call a car or taxi he just ended the conversation there. Bad customer sevi.

Staff was amazing. I'm a breastfeeding mother and they let me store my milk I'm their freezer because my room didn't have one! I'd give them 10 stars just for that if I could!

A hotel with well service, the rooms are good but needs to renew others parts of the hotel.

Staying a second night and maybe longer. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Price is reasonable, especially for the pool access and the awesome complementary breakfast. Now today is Sunday so it may not be as plentiful during the week but I'm not for certain. Rooms very clean. Great location in close proximity to major roads and airport.

My favorite local place to stay for 10 years. Great staff and location. I'm on the highway in 1 minute.

Checked in and found a dirty sock in our room as well as a food splatter on the Wi-Fi instructions hmmm seems like housekeeping needs to be re trained?

Great staff very accommodating. Clean room, parking for big rigs and rv's. Price was right and had a good all round experience. No bad smells or stains, linen was clean and seemed well kept. Great buffet breakfast included and the lady serving us sang beautifully while she happily went about her business.

Not the best and definitely not the worst! My stay was from Nov. 6-8, 2015 NSU homecoming. The breakfast was awesome A+ for that. However… Once passing the lobby going to the elevators the entire first floor smelled like dogs. Once reaching my room on the 2nd floor the room smelled like smoke, animals, and feet (corn chip smell). Bought room spray for odor. The pictures makes the rooms look bigger. Had to tap actual light cover for light to come on in bathroom. Good thing I am from the country or I would have had a panic attack from the huge possum that ran underneath my car.

Professional, courteous and clean. Price was affordable and included breakfast. Would visit again.

Never Ever Never would I stay at this sleep inn again. Most awful place I have ever seen for a hotel. Before I start my rant I will say the staff was friendly. However the rest almost a nightmare. If I had not paid in advance I would have left. I was kept awake until about 1am by the on going sounds of the doors slamming shut. Then @ 3am by the phone. Then @ 3:22 am some woman yelling down the hall about getting the room key. Followed by the AC shutting off and on most of the night, had to put on fan setting as it was the only way to fall asleep. Had to unplug frig because if set over 3 you could hear the motor running, yes over the AC. Maintenance fixes AC so I thought until 2 am when it starts the on off cycle again… sigh. Next night midnight the AC does it again. Along with creepy across the hall dude, who got my attention because he kept slamming an already noisy door. So I stalked him through the peep hole and watched him several times step out the door, look up and down the hall and go back in, slamming the door. On one of his hall outings he knocked on the neighbors door wink wink by accident. I was only watching for 10 minutes! Not a very comfy feeling hotel.

Wi-Fi is horrible when it does work. Phone didnt work. After making the desk aware of this issue I heard no response about it. Front desk associate didnt seem to know what they were doing. I wont be staying here again.

Do not expect to pay cash for these rooms, eve if you try to you must have a credit card to basically pay for it first, then you can pay cash when you leave. Never have I been turned away from a hotel because I did not have a credit card and cash. On top of that my wife was turned away after driving 6 hours at 12:30am with our children because of this ridiculous rule that is per management. If you want a credit card in case they damage something fine but do not state you take cash there is no point. Calling the corporate office because I was told this is per management not corporate.

Really it's great, clean, customer service is great, people are polite.

Good night sleep and quite rooms. Hot breakfast plenty of parking in rear if you are driving a large vehicle. Would recommend.

As a Professional Truck Driver I sometimes take a room. Either as a means of escaping the truck for a while, or when I'm having repairs or scheduled maintenance performed. As a rule I get the cheapest room available but in this case, having read numerous horror reviews on the local low price alternatives, I decided to spend the extra money and stay at the Sleep Inn. It was worth every cent. The staff was very pleasant, even the cleaning staff in the morning had a smile and a warm greeting. The room was very clean and well maintained, and the bedding, while it might not have been new, was exceptionally well cared for. If I find myself in need of a room in the Virginia Beach area again, this is where I'm coming. The relatively small difference in rates simply isn't worth putting up with substandard lodging.

The staff were very nice and accommodating (dealt with us and many other stranded travelers due to airport flight cancellations) and the airport shuttle ran on time. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke (was listed as "non-smoking") and the walls were very thin (the couple next door fought and left their TV blaring the entire time we were there). The air conditioner was extremely loud and shuddered violently when cutting off and on. The bathroom was tiny, with a sliding door strange shower; seems like they remodeled to fit more rooms into an existing footprint. Not worth $100 a night. Would not stay there again.
