I travel for work extensively and almost always stay at a Marriott property. This one has been my least favorite. Ok on the surface but upon closer inspection not the cleanest or most maintained. Bistro limited (was told they couldn't do a long island and 3 nights in a row couldn't get a basic margarita. Patio area only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 2.

Nice hotel, the newly renovated rooms were nice also. Housekeeping could have been a bit better seeing as the toilet still had hair/debris on it from a previous guest. But overall quite nice.

It's a pretty swanky set up for the area and conveniently located downtown near everything of interest in Norfolk. The mall is on one side of the building. The trolley runs right next to it as well to get you around faster, the courthouse & city hall ave is less than a block away. We stayed while the Harlem globetrotters were there if that's justifying enough for how nice this place is. The rooms are amazing! Well at least mine was… .

Friendly staff at the front desk as well as Valet. Customer service was great as expected for a Mariott. I checked in on the app and they called me by name at the front desk and handed me my room keys after verifying my ID. The room was clean and fully stocked as expected and appeared to be a nice room. The only problem I have with the room at all is the view. It leaves a lot to be desired. The pool and exercise facilities are very nice. I have not located the bistro yet but I will shortly.

Great location just in need of some more TLC from house keeping/ patience. Very warm and considerate staff & management. Room was spacious but not as clean as it needed to be; visible cob webs in corners and some mold under soap tray in shower and ice bucket lid. As well and poor bathroom ventalation =rusting picture frame in bathroom. Called down for towels and wash cloths twice took about 3.5 hours to get them. Valet was great and timely. Walking distance from harbor attractions, mall and cafes. This is a sleepy town, downtown pretty dead unless there is something major going on. Harbor Fest was free and had plenty of vendors this past weekend and I would come and stay here again with hopes of a better stay the the price and location compared to the other hotels within 25min drive they still have some of the upper tier brands beat.

Stayed here for a business trip. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The room was ok, nothing too extravagant, and my view of the parking garage next door left a lot to be desired — that's not the hotel's fault, though. I'd stay here again if the opportunity presented itself.

The room sizes are large. I checked in after 10pm and had no issues, most hotels are not happy with very late check-ins. There's no free breakfast which is why I went with 4/5 stars. Clean and cozy. Well decorated.

Morning staff (Crystal) was excellent and very accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very delicious.

Very clean and respectful employees. Overall a great experience with the hotel and no complaints. Also very close to downtown Norfolk for fantastic local food and drinks.

Great location to most of the downtown attractions like Nautilus and the USS Wisconsin. The only parking at this location is by valet. Overall the staff was extremely helpful and courteous and made my stay enjoyable. My only reason for not giving them five stars was that the air conditioning unit in my room did not work correctly, causing the my room to be warmer than I like. I blame myself here because I didn’t notify the staff until I was checking out.

Really clean hotel with a friendly staff. They don't provide free breakfast but they do have a menu you can purchase from. The only parking they offer is valet.

Great location to anything downtown. Friendly staff and very good housekeeping/cleanliness. Slightly dated.

Great staff, clean rooms! Peter Wenzell the Director of Guest Services, went above and beyond to make my recent stay here very memorable. Peter and his team went above and beyond to make my girlfriend and I feel very welcomed and really enjoy our stay. Our room was extremely spacious and clean! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice spot in the downtown area.

Awesome stay! Customer service was top notch. Front Desk, Restaurant, and Valet went out of their way to make you feel at home. Great pool and hot tub, clean room, and very quiet. Will stay again when in the Norfolk area.

Never stay again… first they told me I can check in at 11am. Then it change to 1pm I get there it changed to 130-2pm ok fine I wait in lobby a room is free and the room is half clean. Next morning no hot water! Asked for manager. I was told they don’t come in to Monday? Really?! Never again… Update… Gen manger Peter Wenzell Talked to my wife and handle the situation very personally and we are pleased with the quick resolution!

Very clean rooms with an extremely nice patio. However. After 11 there were a few locals who managed to sneak up onto the patio. However they were promptly chaced out.

Only OK. Room wasn't super clean and fresh smelling. Small. Parking is very difficult. Lobby was only nice part I saw. I probably would stay elsewhere next time I'm in town.

We had to come to Virginia for some family matters & had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, which is conveniently located to everything we needed. The place is nice & clean the indoor pool and hot tub felt like heaven, the roof top deck was nice and peaceful, the housekeeping & the entire hotel staff that was on this weekend 2/10 — 2/13 was nothing short of amazing friendly and very professional as well as attentive to all our needs… However one employee did however stand out more than others, so we would like to give an EXTRA thank you to Miss. Carrie, that ROCKS that front desk… Thank you for such a relaxing experience during our stressful visit, we will definitely be staying here at this location every time we come to town…

The reception staff and bistro staff are incredibly friendly — which is the only reason this is getting 2 stars. There is run off mascara on my comforter, old cereal under the desk, some questionable stains on the carpet, overall I'm paying for a room that has the cleanliness status I would expect of an hourly rate motel. Would not recommend.

Nice place with a great staff and pleasant atmosphere. Parking requires an additional $19/night, plus tips to the valet (it's valet only) which I thought was a bit on the high side, but that's my only complaint, and I must admit that valet service is very convenient. I'd recommend it to a friend, although I doubt if I will ever have the need to stay there again.

Excellent experience with great staff. I needed some documents scanned and sent to my email fairly quickly and the staff was able to help me quickly. Rooms were comfortable. Small bathrooms but nothing to complain about. I had a great stay at the hotel.

Great hotel. Staff is so welcoming and took care of all my needs. I was traveling with a horrible cold. Kendra in the bistro hooked me up with her amazing herbal orange tea. Everyone was so friendly and I love using this hotel as my work base for the area. You will not be disappointed!

The hotel is in a great location and is very nice. However, it does not have a decent restraint or room service. It's a good thing there is a wide variety of places to eat near by. Housekeeping sucks terribly. I've never been in a hotel this nice where the housekeeping was so over the top and consistently horrible. If you can overlook that, the hotel is fine.

I highly recommend booking at this hotel. The service was exemplary from check in to check out. If I could get 10 stars for my experience I would. Thank you for making my family feel like we were visiting family. Also The Bistro staff and service in the hotel is TOP NOTCH! They were extremely personable and remembered details about customers orders from prior visits.

I stayed here while in town for work. The location is very convenient and the hotel is well kept. It definitely rises to the standards I expect from the courtyard brand. The staff exceed expectations and were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

We had an excellent stay here! The hotel is very modern and pretty. The room was plenty large enough for my two friends and I. Additionally, there is an AWESOME terrace on the fifth floor. That was probably our favorite part, because we were able to come back after our night out and have a nightcap outdoors. The staff was friendly and helpful. I can't say much about the area because we were mostly ubering to other areas of the city.

I stayed there for one night. The valet guys are great, quick and friendly. The front desk staff answered all of my questions with a smile. My room was clean and comfortable. All in all a great hotel and a good value.

This is a nice place to stay. It is a few blocks away from the local night life, their wonderful library, and the Wisconsin Battleship, which offers tours daily. The staff are very helpful, and the hotel is very nice. A great place to stay for a conference or vacation.

I've stayed at this hotel before and my stay has always been pleasant, however my most recent stay left much to be desired. I checked into my room on March 12 while in the bathroom, I noticed that there was dried urine the toilet and pubic hair. I called to the front desk and was told that there was no one there who could clean it and that manager would be told of this in the morning. I was never offere a new room. The manager on duty never called me in the morning, I called to make a complaint and was told by the assistant General Manager that she would research and call me back. First of all there is nothing to research, there was dried urine, human waste on the toilet when I checked in the room. Upon checking out I was told by the assistant GM that I had to pay for this room because only the GM could comp the room, she would have him call me in the morning. The GM never called me. I called the GM, told him the situation and sent him pictures. During conversation with the GM, I informed him that the Assistant GM made me pay for the room and told me that no one but the GM could comp my room. The GM informed me that the Assistant GM indeed could comp my room. This is unacceptable costumer service, leaving me in a room with dried urine in the toilet, outright lying to me, making me pay for the room and then waiting to be refunded is unacceptable and I will think twice about staying at this Marriott.

Good location, room was very clean and nice, downstairs bar is severely overpriced.

Arrived late around 10pm was not informed jackhammers would wake us up at 7:30am Breakfast was comped only to find out they were out of many items. Shower curtain stuck like cigarettes. Pool was horrendously cloudy and dank. Not sure how this place has good ratings.

It was pretty nice. Located within walking distance of lots of restaurants, museums, and shopping malls. Rooms were nice but modest. Staff was friendly. Really, no real complaints.
