I attended a banquet there this evening and had a delightful time. The banquet staff were so very nice and considerate. Well done! However, our food was lukewarm and I could not eat it. Just letting you know because I’m sure with 400 people in attendance there has to be others who thought the same thing! Perhaps covers would keep the plated meals hot?

Worst bar ever. Absolutely a disaster. Don't waste your time.

Hidden gem in downtown Lynchburg. The bar and restaurant have great food and excellent service. The bartender and staff are professional and highly skilled.

Super firm bed. But otherwise, it's a decent place for a quick stay. Entire staff seemed noticeably grumpy though.

Simple overnight stay for a business meeting. Friendly staff. Clean lobby and rooms. Really convenient location for walking or driving.

Unremarkable, older property showing it's age. But it was clean, the staff I interacted with were very pleasant and professional. Minor gripe with Burlap Joe's a coffee shop concession in the lobby. That has a sign that reads "for orders over $10, call (telephone number) and someone will come in". Really?! That's messed up! If you want to rent the space … Then work it! This is no reflection on the hotel regarding this review but there you are. The property is large, centrally located with an attached parking garage.

Hotel is older 8 story solid building. Staff is fantastic. Rooms are clean, but becoming a little threadbare. Easy access to downtown.

Housekeeping issues, security issues, noise issues. Aside from that it's well located in downtown. Breakfast is a miss — do yourself a favor and eat a couple of blocks away.

We came in with a loud wedding party and the staff welcomed us with open arms. We were very surprised. You know how wedding parties can be. Staff was very professional.

Room was spacious and clean. No complimentary breakfast included but there is a paid restaurant available in the hotel.

Great food, good service. Place looks clean and organized. Our event started on time and without any incovinient.

Friendly staff, awesome yogurt parfait, nice parking garage and all within walking distance of a lot of great restaurants, bars, shops, walking/biking trails and the James River. If you're looking for something really posh, this isn't the place for you, but it's clean, comfortable and we've enjoyed it.

Hotel location is great it is near everything. The rooms are awesome and very clean and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant in the hotel is great with reasonable prices.

Loved the breakfast staff! We stayed for a week of Liberty intensives and felt safe and comfortable. The staff was helpful and beds comfortable. The breakfast was great and again the staff made mornings enjoyable. Location is downtown and you can walk to great shops and restaurants. Recommend!

Hotel is nice. Not great. Coupon for breakfast is much better then normal complimentary breakfast at most hotels.

Great hotel with a fantastic view. We requested the parking lot side and glad we did. Other reviews mentioned the excessively loud train noise, (train tracks are right behind the hotel) however the parking lot side was great with low noise levels even though a train came through one evening.

3 stars for great service, but there is room for improvement in computer system, and functionality. Cleanliness and aesthetics are nice, as well as a few popular beer tap options, covered garage… I still would recommend.

Older Holiday Inn. Located in downtown Lynchburg. Elevators stopped working the morning I checked out. Had to carry luggage down 6 flights of stairs.

Not a lot of hotel options in the area so I would say this would be the high end hotel. Good breakfast. Get a night cap. Don't expect lot of night cap options. Rooms clean and spacious. Staff very nice. Parking available but can miss it.

The hotel has a great location in downtown Lynchburg but it still seems overpriced. Upon checking in at the hotel, we were given no directions to our room whatsoever, but we were able to find it on our own. The room itself had many issues. For one, the beds are on shoddy metal frames that wobble. Literally any movement in the bed is met with the feeling you're on a boat and that the bed might collapse. A piece of the metal frame was really jagged and covered with the bed skirt, resulting in a slight cut to the leg. The bathroom was what one would expect, but the door didn't shut properly. It was locked into an "open" position, meaning you could be using the bathroom and the door might swing open accidentally. The hair dryer also didn't work, which is something we were counting on using to get ready for the wedding we were in town for. Another thing we were planning on using was the iron, which worked as long as you weren't planning on using any steam, as water in the iron would leak all over whatever you were trying to iron. There were a couple burnt out bulbs in the room, and the outlets attached to the lamps were very loose or didn't work at all. The ice machine on our floor was also out of order, which was one of many, many minor/major inconveniences. Added together, the hotel room not only didn't add anything to our stay, it added stress to an already stressful event.

Room service is prompt and only has a 2$ delivery fee making it super affordable. They do not have a complimentary breakfast but what they do offer is still affordable and super delicious. On top of all this they are pet friendly. The only down side is the room I'm staying in doesn't have smart light placement. It's always dim even with all the lamps on.

Stayed here several times when visiting lynchburg college. Great staff, clean rooms easy parking. Easy walk to downtown restaraunts and bars. Breakfast was good but it does cost. Great hotel.

Rooms are clean. Gym equipment is pretty new. They have an outdoor pool but doesnt seems to get cleaned as often. Bartenders at the restaurant here are really nice.

My stay here was ok. Staff friendliness is hit or miss. My room didn't have an office chair or bath towels which was bizarre. They weren't hitting on the little things. Probably won't stay again.

Staff is excellent. We hold our church services upstairs, and the accommodations are awesome! Recommend to everyone!

Great location in downtown historic Lynchburg. We checked in late, about 9:45 p. M. And were greeted by a very nice front desk host who gave us an upgrade on our room. Had a wonderful one night stay!

Great rooms with great service. All the employees were very nice. Everything was clean. There's a nice walkway next to the river that is great to walk on only a few minutes walk from the hotel.

My stay at Holiday Inn was good. All staff where friendly and helpful. Room was nice. Only complaint I have is the construction on the road in front of the hotel was inconvenient and the room had a slight musky odor as if it had not been used in a while.

My husbands company (Teva) had their Winter Gala there last night (1/21/17) and it was wonderful. The food was great and the staff was exceptional. Everyone was courteous and friendly. Job very well done. Yes, I will recommend you to anyone for anything.

I was not impressed with this Holiday Inn! We drove for 12 hours our day of check-in. We were told on the phone that they had a pool. We told our kids who had tons of energy while being stuck in the vehicle for way too long, that they could swim until the pool closed that night… they were so excited! We arrived and we were told the pool is closed until summer. Why didn't they tell us this on the phone when we booked the room and I made it clear we were looking for a place with a pool. Well, it was Liberty University graduation weekend and I was determined to find another hotel to stay in that had a pool, but everything was booked and I called every hotel in the nearby area. I then spoke to the manager, thinking maybe he could swap us to the Holiday Inn that had an indoor pool also in Lynchburg. He laughed in my face reminding me that there are no other openings ANYWHERE on Liberty's graduation weekend. He was not even apologetic that his staff led me to believe this false information. My three boys were so let down that night. On top of that this hotel needed some serious updates. I will never stay at this location again… even if I have to drive 30 minutes outside of Lynchburg for a hotel. Very disappointing!

This is a much nicer holiday Inn than previous ones I've stayed at.

The Holiday Inn in Lynchburg is clean and the staff is friendly. The food in the restaurant is also good bar food. And it has a perfect location for reaching anything downtown leading into historic Lynchburg.

I was only there for a brief meeting and luncheon. The front desk lady was pleasant and the conference room was very nice and clean.

Good location, but toilet flooded, although they gave us a new room pretty quickly, and didn't make us pay for parking since it was snowing.

Heat will roast you. Clean rooms, friendly staff, small 'exercise' room.

Staff is excellent but the facilities are lacking. Bad beds, clogged drains, and spotty Wi-Fi.

Why can't we watch Thursday night football at the bar? Lame.

This is our 2nd time staying here and what a fantastic place. In my error, I booked the incorrect room and the staff here accommodated us with a roll-a-way. The cleaning staff were very attentive, noticing our privacy sign, advised that if we needed extra towels all we needed to do is ask us. The food is fantastic! We will stay here again and again when visiting our daughter & son-in-law.

Had booked a motel down the road, but arrived and felt unsafe, so we called around the area and found the Holiday Inn. We didn't arrive until 11:30 pm, but they were so kind to us and got us a room right away. It was nice, clean, had Wi-Fi, and great breakfast in the morning! Location was perfect for us as it was right downtown and also close to Liberty University. Would stay again.

I was there this past week for a wedding and Saturday I woke up to have breakfast in the hotel, that night I went to the wedding and I was very sick I didn't eat anything while I was there and my stomach was constantly hurting. I started vomiting in the bathroom, I had to me leave my trip early back home to realize I had salmonella poisioning from the eggs.

I had a great stay quiet clean and the people were very friendly and helpfull.

The staff treated us like royalty. We were beyond tired and they took care of us. I give a big thanks to the man who took are luggage up to the room and helped with parking the car in a safe place because we were having trouble with the security system. The room was wonderful. Clean and comfortable. There is an in house restaurant. I was leary because it was empty. But the food was great and so was the wine! Thank you Lynchburg Holiday Inn.

Hotel was great — room was nice, quiet and comfortable. Convenient location (and was glad for the covered parking in the rain) The staff was excellent, Very friendly and helpful.

I got very sick from eating dinner at this hotel. Vomit, diarrhea and I passed out while flying home. But that's not the worst of it. The management doesn't care. I tried to reach out to them several times on different days after this episode. I never got a call back. No apology. Just a form email reply. No compensation for this nightmare visit was offered. The GM and staff of this hotel just don't care about their customer's well being. They are worried about covering their corporate profits. Don't stay here. You will regret it. I certainly did.

We decided to book a room because we wanted to go to Amazement Square and take the kids, we booked the Honeymoon suite just because we wanted a "nice" room. The kids were very excited about the roof top pool and had been waiting forward to this all day. We arrive to find out the morning shift didn't know how to put chemicals in the pool so therefore the evening shift had to so we were informed the pool was CLOSED until tomorrow, the only reason we found this would was because I saw a sign behind the desk saying "pool closed until further notice" and I asked about it, this was let down We then walk up to the Suite, bathroom was nasty, see pictures, more hair on the floor that was not ours than we could count, 2 bobby pins on bathroom floor which obviously meant floor had not even been swept nor less mopped, grout around whirlpool tub falling out in some areas and not clean, see pics, also handle which held the shower head was broken therefore you could not even take a shower unless you held the shower head above your head yourself. Needless to say we had to very disappointed children because of the pool and 2 nervous parents regarding the cleanliness of the room. Really wish we would have know about pool because that was the main reason we came to a hotel, we only live 50 minutes away but were trying to make a fun filled weekend of if for the kids.
