You can't miss this inn because it's on the left after a few blocks when you drive straight onto the island. Its pool is prominent and sits directly in front of the main office. The exterior seems well kept and fits in modestly with the eclectic shops and restaurants nearby. The room smells like a truck stop bathroom, partly because of the actual urinal cake in the bathroom but also because of the heavy air like it has been subjected to years of smoking. It hits you in your face the moment you walk through the door. The spider which had already claimed residence seemed benevolent and content to live off the occasional fly which wandered inside its elaborate nest in the upper corner of the room and was thus granted a stay of execution… For now. If your budget will allow, I recommend choosing a different place to stay, otherwise this room might leave you with a strained cough and encourage even the most reluctant traveler to enjoy the rest of the island eagerly.

Very good rates and exceptional service. All staff are very courteous and helpful for anything needed or information about anything on the island. Would recommend this inn to anyone looking for a great place with very reasonable rates.

I loved the people who worked there. However the rooms need updated and fixed. The door to the bathroom was hard to open and the main door wouldn’t open unless I threw myself into it. Even though the rooms had problems I’d still probably go back.

Good hotel for the price. Provided toiletries. Breakfast was waffles, sausage, eggs, bagels, and muffins. Smoke free. We were satisfied. Not the nicest place ever, but not terrible.

Very nice room. Plenty of space and perfect for a weekend getaway.

Inexpensive beach motel. Keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed. Good location. If you just want a bed with clean sheets and a working TV for cheap, this is the place for you. The rooms smell a little musty, like you'd expect at the seashore. They don't clean the bathrooms real well, so if you are germophobe you might want to stay at one of the $200 per night hotels over on Main St.

This was not a pleasant experience. Ant infested and the room smelled moldy. The toilet didn't work properly. The stopper in the tub was broke. The breakfast needs to revamped or discontinue it. This location is to big for a first come first serve breakfast. This was my second visit and my last.

Nice staff, but room was subpar. The whole room smelled like an attic when we first entered (musty). The shower did not work and the shower faucet was jiggly and loose on the wall. There was calcification and rust all over the drain. We told the staff the next morning at checkout and they just "oh we will have to check it. " No apology, no attempt to compensate or anything. We won't be staying here again.

The room was dirty, water was all over the floor in the bathroom when we checked in. A mirror had fallen and it was just sitting on the floor and all the ice machines were out of order. Very disappointing.

The whole place really doesn't look that bad — and quite welcoming — at first. We had some problems at check-in. We were told that the room would be ready at 2, but when we got there at 3 it still wasn't ready. The gym was pretty terrible — it is literally a hotel room with 4 machines stuck into it, all very old and 2 broken. Our room was OK, and so were the beds. However, there were barely any electricity outlets, all far away from the beds. The bolt on the door was broken, clearly from an earlier forced entry. The walls were not really soundproof. Finally, breakfast was there but really minimal — no cheeses or meats on the sandwiches.

Location was easy to find right off of the main road and the rooms were very spacious and clean.

I was only in town for 3 days for the rocket launch. I was placed in room 115. The decor of the room was a little outdated, but the room was clean. The room included a microwave, a mini refrigerator, a coffee maker, and a hairdryer. The TV was a 1080p monitor, but it was connected to a digital adapter, which means that the signal was NOT high definition. This hotel provides free Wi-Fi that works well throughout the premises. There was no iron or ironing board, even though the front desk insisted. The ice machine on both sides of the facility were broken (It could be because the temperature was below freezing ever night I was there). The free breakfast was okay. It consisted of cereal, assorted juice and pastries, yogurt, a waffle maker, & refrigerated boiled eggs. Overall, this was a good place, for the price, that is placed close to the NASA Wallops flight facility. The staff is friendly and I would definitely utilize this hotel in the future.

Not nice. There's perhaps a bit of a captive audience on this island but I not appreciate being treated like they're doing me a favor. That and the rooms are gross and full of bugs.

Clean rooms and great customer service. Great complementary breakfast in the morning (eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, coffee and more). Would definitely stay here again.

The key they gave us to the room it initially did not work. However the room was spacious with a refrigerator and microwave and generally clean. The bathroom could have been a little better kept up. The rate was good for the location. It was right on the main strip.

The room was beautiful and the service was accomdating. The lobby is open 24 hrs a day so when we checked in at 6pm it was no problem. The water did take quite awhile to heat up for the sink/shower and the sink drain was very slow. Also, when we checked in they authorized our credit card therefore charging us the full amount for our two night stay. This would have been no problem if not for when we checked out they charged us AGAIN. I called to inquire about this and they claimed that is just how their system works and we will get the money back by tomorrow. Needless to say, we will NOT be going back because this is a MAJOR inconvenience.

Best beach side hotel. If you are lucky enough to get Margie as your housekeeper. She will feel like another welcomed companion on your stay. I have had the same experience with other housekeepers here. Just feel she should be recognized for her hard work and dedication to her guest. Thank you for all you hospitality.

The Rodeway in at Chincoteague is a very nice place, the service was good, the room was spacious and clean and the A/C was amazing! The location was ok, good for taking a bike or a car to the beach/refuge but wouldn't be good for walking. However very close to shops and restaurants. Also right next door the Island Creamery that I heard is amazing but I don't know if it really is because I didn't get to go. : (

The bed was comfy and the room clean which I suppose are the most important things however, it looked like they were undergoing renovations and there were holes in the walls from old mountings and the doors were all crooked and hard to open/close. The A/C had problems dealing with the humidity and toward morning it was a sticky humid mess in the room. I've been here before a few years back and the room I stayed in was fine so I'm hoping this will all be sorted out the next time I visit. But for now, I'd steer clear of room 146.

Would not recommend this location. One of the only pros of the room was that the bed was comfortable. Now follows the list of cons. We booked a king size room, but the "king size bed" was actually two standard beds in what appeared to be a queen frame. There was a noticeable sag in the middle of the bed which was rather annoying. If you sleep on your side of the bed you should be fine, but don't cuddle with your partner or risk falling through the bed. The room itself is quite dated and expect to find an old CRT television inside a giant wardrobe that takes up entirely too much space. We were forced to watch netflix on our laptops because the TV did not support an HDMI cable for a ROKU device. There was a grand total of three sockets in the room and they are nowhere near the bed, so charging your various pieces of technology will prove to be nuisance. The outlets for the TV and clocks and lamps are all hidden behind the furniture and bed to discourage you from using them for whatever reason. When we arrived to check in, the front desk member was on the phone and did not greet us. There were two other workers there on the computer but none of them acknowledged us until the person on the phone got off about 2 minutes later. Aside from that, the housekeeping/grounds staff was friendly and quite helpful. Our keycard stopped working every single day at approximately 11am and we had to go get it reactivated at the front desk daily.

Rooms were okay. Mold in bathroom. Looks good from outside, inside leaves more to desire. Breakfast was ok. Not great, not bad.

Low rates are awesome, but are not without sacrifice. The front door was difficult to shut and had many issues with the card scanner. It does not feel secure. The bed was comfortable but did not fit the frame correctly so you could not sleep in certain spots without fear of the bed breaking. Staff was really nice though and helped us when they could. It was not terrible but did leave some things to be desired.

The hotel is cheaper, so some amenities (or lack thereof) are expected. However, the light in the room has no bulbs, nor were some items plugged in. Also, the cleaning staff smashed the end table into a plug of its damaging it. It was the only plug accessible to us to use. Overall not bad, but it's a cheap hotel.

Good price, but small problems (no light bulbs, lock didn't work) they were quick to fix problems. Complementary breakfast. Mostly carbs, would have liked a few more fruits, and some yogurt. Outdoor pool on premises.

Hotel being remodeled. Room had bad smell. Carpets dirty, just walking inside the room in bare feet then getting in the shower made the tub look like a mud puddle. Could use a lot more cleaning. Nice staff but wouldn't stay here again.

Never seen such an unclean room before. The only clean things seemed the bed sheets and the towels. Tapware was dirty, plastic bag on the floor. Fridge not empty. Toilet seat didn't seemed to have been cleaned. I better hope this was an exception for the quality of their rooms!

Very nice looking room. Top floor for seniors, eh not so good thinking that out. Noises children next door not so good. Headphones on. Staff friendly on check in. Rethink how you place seniors.

Staff extremely nice and accomodating. Wi-Fi unstable or nonexistent. Rm 116 had a smell, breakfast was all bread or cereal. Not sure I would stay here again, but they were very nice.

Loved the hotel. Was in a good area and the rooms are well kept.

Clean, affordable, great location. Pet friendly and very accommodating — was grateful for an early check in. Would totally recommend this place if you are looking for a clean place to lay your head down at night after a great day at the beach. While hotel may be dated, it is clean and comfortable. Would stay any time I'm on the island with my dog! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I loved my stay here! I reserved 2 rooms. One for my family and one for a friend's family for a birthday getaway on Chincoteague Island. I was our first time there. 8 people total including our kids. We only stayed here because everywhere else was sold out. Turned out to be the best stay ever. The service was excellent! It wasn't just the clean room and fast check-in that made this stay wonderful. The office staff was the best I've ever experience. When we arrived for check-in (about 3 hours early) the room was ready. We were offered juice, water and coffee. It was very hot out that day. The pool is up to 8' deep and it's open to 10 pm. The very friendly lady at the front desk recommended we try Bill's restaurant for the birthday celebration, which was excellent. The next day, at the complementary breakfast (cereal, hard boiled eggs, make your own waffles, etc. ), the person refilling the items brought pastries around to all the tables as if he was our server. A very nice guy. I love to travel and do it often. Best stay I've had in a while. I left a tip for everyone when we left, not just in the room.

Dated but clean rooms, free Wi-Fi, breakfast and excellent staff in this drive up motel. Would stay here again.
