If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. Making a reservation at this hotel was THE WORST decision we could’ve made. The. Worst. You’d be better off staying at any motel. I’m very disappointed to have to say that this is the first time in many years that we’ve had a bad experience at a Holiday Inn. We had made our reservation with ample time and scanned over the credit authorization form over a month in advance since my dad is the IHG account holder. When we walk in, the woman at the front didn’t even bother to greet us in any way. When reaching the front desk, she remained unbothered. Once we gave her the information for our reservation she informed us she needed my dad to be present. At this point we proceeded to hand her the physical copy of the authorization form (although we had already scanned it over) and I informed her I had previously made a call to ensure that I had all the necessary information to be able to check in and was told all I needed was that form signed and scanned over. I would assume — since they received the faxed authorization a month before our stay – that if there was an issue with the authorization they would pick up the phone and contacts us to fix it. The woman, Blanca, began to argue with us that she could not give us the room because he wasn’t there. Asked to speak to a manager and there was NO MANAGER at the hotel, she said. She then proceeded to text her manager while I called customer service.

Nice bedrooms, very confortable.

Had a short stay but it was fabulous. Instantly welcomed (at 1am! ) by a super friendly staff member who even helped me figure out my trip to the airport in the morning. And the lobby smelled really good! It’s s minor detail but really important :) Our room was super modern and beautiful — literally something you’d expect out of a fancy-pants resort or upscale boutique hotel in New York City! The bed was super plush and the fridge was actually a really great size for a mini fridge! The little kitchen area was well stocked with coffee and tea and the bathroom was also modern. Powerful shower head and plenty of soft towels. I really felt like I was staying in luxury. Super sad I had to leave so early would of loved to snooze a bit longer in that dreamy bed! A must stay if you are in the Seattle or Tacoma area!

Wow, the folks here are so helpful and nice! I came in late and they checked me in super quick and with such a great attitude to be working so late. I realized when I walked into my room how lucky I was to find this hotel. The place was in great shape and very new looking. The bathroom was sparkling clean with a recently remodeled shower. They had a great little gym down in the lobby too. I had a great experience.

Very excellent all round and very friendly staff.

This place was great — it was newly renovated, so everything felt brand new — beds, pillows, sheets, all very nice and comfy. Rooms also came with Keurig and mini fridge. Also there’s a pool and hot tub on the premises, which is a big plus. Can’t forget the free breakfast either, good selection and much better than the continental stuff that I’m used to.

This place is great! Clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff, pool and hot tub open 24 hrs. Everything feels new and spacious. I wish all of our stays were like this!

They do not honor their online prices! I called to book a room and they refused to honor their online price of $81 per night and told me their rate was $241 PER NIGHT! Ridiculous! I’ll stick to choice hotels from now on.

A beacon of light to this weary traveler, 24 hr access to laundry machines which I was in dire need of when I arrived. There was a free goodie bag of snacks in the room and the beds were brand new and oh so comfy. Breakfast was excelled. And just around the corner from my room on the 3rd floor. The dinning room in the main lobby was currently under construction but already looks impressive, hopefully my future travels lead me hear again so I can see all the improvements they have planned. Really appreciate the hospitality of all the staff and pleased with my stay.

Amazing! The rooms were recently redone, so everything was up to date and clean. The gym was great, the staff was friendly, and the beds were comfy. What more could you ask for? We stayed for two nights and my only regret is not being able to stay longer. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Tacoma!

Upon arrival we were greeted by confusing signs, unhelpful front desk who argued with us rather then helping, the hotel was under renovation which didnt bother us as they had a pool down the road to swim but again the front desk was very rude which made the renovation a little annoying.

Our client Sofyia Alexandria stayed here recently while on tour and performing nearby, and they loved it! The staff was super friendly and the room was amazing. There was plenty of free parking and an awesome free breakfast bar in the morning making getting back on the road very easy! Thank you for taking such great care of us and we look forward to staying with you again soon.

Very nice room and it over looks a pond, which is nice compared to looking at a highway or houses in most places.

There's not much I can say about my stay. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, there was enough room, and the beds were comfortable. There was nothing to complain about and there wasn't anything super fantastic, it was just a nice room.

Very pleasant staff. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was hot and good, dining area was a little small so we had to go back to room to eat.

The people were really nice. That's about all that was nice. There were about 10 stains on the carpet. The workout room was about the size of a closet. The hotel itself was built in the 70s probably. There were no smoking signs in all of the doors. The bathrooms in the lobby had a number lock on them. The locks on the rooms were very old. The building was under construction, which wasn't on their website and no one informed us about when we booked. It was also in the sketchy part of town. We were supposed to stay 2 nights. We stayed one.

Excellent place to stay! Our room was very comfortable and had a gorgeous view of a lake. Breakfast there is very good, the services at this hotel are one of the best I've experienced.

This is my go to place when I need a mini getaway. The people are always so nice, the hotel is kept clean, it's nice and quite relaxing. Just what I need for a getaway.

Our stay was comfortable enough but I had higher expectations going in.
The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean at first glance, and the Free breakfast was definitely a bonus! BUT the indoor pool and hot tub, which was the only reason I chose this property were not safely useable.
The water in both were completely filthy. The hot tub had skin bits floating in the orange water with a thick oily sheen. I was seriously concerned with communicable skin diseases.
The… rooms appear clean and they smell fresh but the carpets are sticky and one of my daughters was bitten by something multiple times while she was sleeping.
This property is under renovation, a fact I wish places would be honest and include in their advertising at booking. I don't know if this is adding extra strain to the staff and leading to some of these issues, they did seem receptive when I mentioned the cleanliness of the pool at check out; but had I known it was under construction I would have gone somewhere else.
It was an ok stay but not worth what I ended up paying. The pool was the only real draw for our family and it was inaccessible. We could have had the same experience at the motel 6 for a third of the cost with the same sketchy characters just hanging about outside.

Clean and comfortable. Slept great! Front desk clerk was friendly and very helpful. Would certainly stay here again.

Stayed in the Tacoma room it was super nice the staff was vary nice, the room was a nice big room I couldn't believe the room was that big tell we walked in an saw the room can't wait to come back. Super cool that the pool is open all night the hot tub is a nice relaxing way to end a fun night in Tacoma love this hotel.

The only decent thing about this hotel was the breakfast. Parking is very limited, the hotel is dirty, and the staff was rude. The toilet in our room was broken so we were put into another room. Besides this already being an inconvenience happening late at night, the staff took about an hour to move us. We were not offered a compensation but was instead charged for an additional night without our authorization. We were told this was a "normal" thing and that we cannot contact management because it is the weekend. I do not recommend staying at this particular location.

Loved this place, from the cleanliness to the food, the lobby to the room. Atmosphere is c the antiquity of the original building combined with the freshness of modern construction. They serve free milk and cookies after 7pm, breakfast is very fresh, large variety of items. Beds super comfortable. Its a 5 star experience for a 3 star price!

We were basically staying in the lobby (our room was so close) and heard most of the traffic coming and going. The room was very clean and quite spacious. However the blanket provided did not give much warmth. The staff was courteous and friendly.

The rooms are nice and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was nice as well, and they were able to support a large amount of people that were there when I stayed. The only bad thing about the place was that the pool/hot tub water looked funny, but that might have been because of renovations or something.

I will never stay here again, I have been waiting a month for my refund and have had almost zero response from manangement other than " I will check the status of your refund" and never heard back from anyone. I was upgraded to the king jacuzzi room for free and that was great I thought, until I used the jacuzzi tub went to bed. When I woke I decided to take another bath and you can see from the pictures it wasnt a great idea. There was a disgusting sludge left over from the jets and that means I took a bath in this crap. The jets may have never been cleaned and I am revolted to think of what all the filth in the tub had come from? I mentioned it to the front desk and she wasnt concerned but told me somebody would check it out. I then thought I would use the hot tub, bad idea there was candy throughout the entire pool area that smelled of mold because of the walls being torn apart for a remodel. The bottom of the pool and hot tub were covered in a slimy brown film. Totally grossed out. If you must stay here dont take a bath in room 302.

Such poor service, horrible etiquettte! On Christmas night, after being dropped off by a taxi, upon check-in the night clerk informed us that the elevator was broken. We informed them that there was a disability factor & and we needed a ground room. He insisted that not one room was available. When we re-stated the situation he told us that he couldnt make a room just become available, and what did we want from him? That every single first floor room was occupied. I reminded him about the federal disability act that required that there always be a room available for this exact circumstance. He said "So are you actually trying to ask me to carry your luggage upstairs? You want my help? Is that what you want to ask? " We left and walked thru the snow to the nearest hotel where they had a working elevator and an offer to still bring our luggage, without any mention of limitations.

Im writing this review as I lay in bed wishing I was asleep. This is one of the loudest hotels ive ever stayed in. They cant control a dog barking outside, however up on the 3rd floor we can hear it as if it in the hallway. We can also hear a person coughing on the sidewalk outside. The plumbing is loud, so whenever a neighbor flushes, showers, or uses a sink; you can hear it. We can easily hear people in the other rooms talking normally. The room does have a fridge in it, however when the compressor turns on and off it rattles the cabinet. Very difficult to get any sleep, should of saved the money and slept in the car, probably would of been quieter. We had paid for the room through a third party service. To make our stay worse, not only did they put the normal $50 hold for incidentals, they also put a $103 hold that they couldnt explain AND a $98 "hold" that they had no record of according to one of the girls at the front but she insisted it was just a hold but in fact it ended up posting to our bank account. Yes, they did three transactions in addition to our room payment, two of which are fraudulant.

Jetted tub room was nice if antad empty. All the needed amenities just a lot of empty space too. Good breakfast, coffee all night, milk and cookies at 7pm. Nice employees.

If you want to enjoy the hot tub, enjoy soaking it up in cum! Caught a couple having sex I. The hot tub, called management, let the front desk know! Nothing happened! Brought my family here the night before New Years to enjoy swimming and hot tubing — that didn’t last bc Inappropriate couple saw no one else was in there and decided to have sex while they have a chance! Well you were caught — j reported it over and over! Call cooperate and nothing was done! Walked down later to find a swimming and hot tubing in the couples cum! Come here and that’s what you’ll swim in! This place cares nothing about cleanliness only about selling rooms! Great job Sofia and Daniel! You did your job — sell rooms and let others swim and relax in others cum! Great Job! — I won’t be back and no one I know will either! Gross — Gross-and repulsive!

I know Holiday Inn Express is a three-star chain in general, but this is a very nice and new facility. It's always clean and always has friendly helpful staff at the front desk. Is very centrally located in downtown Tacoma with good freeway access. I stay here often and like the property very much.

Starting with the check-in, the receptionist was friendly & courteous. The room was nice, the bed (king size) was very comfortable. Downside, I don't think the floor was vacuumed in the room, at least not while I was there. The shower had mold along the top of it. There is very little parking area unless you park in the businesses adjacent to the hotel (still in a fenced in area). Overall I still give it 4 stars.

The room was comfortable for the exception of the Wi-Fi would not connect with all our devices. I needed to get work done and called the front desk for assistance. This was about 4 or 5pm I called the front desk for assistance and had a horrible experience. The woman consistently interrupted me and accused me of yelling at her when I was just talking in a normal voice with my friend listening to the entire conversation a few feet away. I will never stay at this hotel ever again because their staff are rude, crude and disrespectful to their customers.

Kind and helpful staff. Clean and reasonably modern. Great coffee, good breakfast. Easy parking. Nice pool, sauna, hot tub/spa.

The heater was noisy something was loose in it, so that was a little irritating. But otherwise, bathroom was very clean, no dirt or hair which was important. Bed appeared to be clean also as well. There was a faint old cigarette smell. Breakfast selection was pretty good. Front desk girl was very nice and accomidating. If I could give some feedback to the manager about the room I stayed in, it would be to put an air freshner or clean the heater. I think the heater had the smell in it. And An extra clean on the carpets.

Neighborhood is a little skeezy, and there are a lot of hotels right here. Inside decorations are nice. Complimentary breakfast was sufficient with a fair amount of options. Room was clean, quiet, and had a view of a reservoir. Staff was polite and competent.

Vanessa at the front desk was extremely helpful and very pleasant. Great breakfast selection. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Easy travel to Tacoma Dome.

My landlord was doing some work on our rental house so he got my daughter & I a room. From the front desk person to the cleaning staff they were friendly as well as helpful. I had forgotten to tell him my daughter has a problem with stairs but when we checked in she switched it off problem as well as close to the lobby, pool & jacuzzi which was a nice way to end a long day. Even on the first floor the noise level was minimal. In the morning they have breakfast ranging from pancakes, muffins, biscuits and gravy & omelettes for a couple of hours. Rooms were clean & comfortable & I would definitely recommend it to others.

I am really enjoying my stay; Savannah was very helpful with making sure that all my questions were answered and that I was comfortable this evening.

Wife and I stayed in the King Suite w/ jacuzzi tub. Loved the room, except for the fact that the TV was not viewable from the jacuzzi tub. Front desk and housekeeping staff were VERY nice! We Highly recommend!

Hello! I typically stay here during events at the Tacoma Dome. There always seems to be rooms available and the service is very exceptional! We have stayed in the suite with a spa inside, since this hotel is one of few that has it available. I'm always pleased when I visit here. They do great!

Nice hotel centrally located in general Tacoma area. Hotel was clean and pretty well maintained for an older property. Soft Beds, big TV, standard breakfast offering with good variety for HI Express. Front Desk Staff very courteous and helpful. Richard was very courteous, caring, helpful, went above and beyond to help a traveler who was struggling with a medical and family issue. Also evening front desk gal named Kayla (not 100% sure on name) and one of the housekeeping staff helped me with a jammed door issue, took a while to get it fixed without a maintenance staff person on site. After resolving the door jam (took about an hour) they offered me a room upgrade, points and bought me dinner for the inconvenience. Very good customer service. The only downside here is the fitness center is really small 2 treads, 1 elliptical, and Dumbbell Set but no exercise bench (only a fitness ball, Bosu Ball and mats). Fitness Center is tight and not well ventilated but they have an air purifier system of some kind set up… but not adequate for cooling the room. Pool area looked nice. Neighborhood is a bit marginal but good Mexican Restraunt in same parking lot. Lots of food options in range of short drive.

I was going to have my son birthday party there and I paid $191.07 for a 2bd room for the birthday party for my 14 year old son on September 10th they did not tell me anything about compassion for the pool area at all. I had told multiple workers what I was doing and even got a (sounds like fun) from them. They do not like kids period. They stopped us before going in pool area and told us only 5 kids can come in there. I was told it was fine as long as they're not staying the night in the room we can have the party. We spend alot of money and even set up the whole entire room $300 dollars on party decorations everything there was only 12 kids an 9 adults. The looks on all those kids faces unspeakable went back upstairs and pack our stuff and cancel the service and still yet have not received any of my money back. They are cold hearted at this hotel and do not like kids. The love for kids is 0. That is not a no children's environment whatsoever disrespectful staff members. The lady name is Alex Kandsfutler she is rudest unlike disrespectful staff member I've ever met in my life she has no love for kids she wouldn't even let half go now and half later only 5 smfh. They need to train staff and have contracts and paperwork stating how much compacity you can have. Tell people how many kids you can have if not then a return policy no receipt I didn't even sign any paperwork or anything that I asked for a receipt and they give me a duplicate paperwork unprofessional.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Very quickly for me to my clean room. Pillows and bed were comfortable, air-conditioning was great, towels are fluffy :) The continental hot breakfast was pretty good, but wasn't expecting much, did have eggs, sausage, cinnamon rolls and muffins as well as some other typical choices. Overall, can't complain.

We like to stay at Holiday Inns Express when we go out of town. We earn points toward free rooms, they have a very nice breakfast, and their pool is open 24 hours a day which is great if you have kids.

Worst experience with a hotel I've ever had. Not only were we judged and told what we could and couldn't wear in the hotel, but we received a noise complaint at 5 pm when we weren't even being loud. Before checking into our rooms, we asked about late check out and were told to just call down in the morning to get it, when we called to request it they told us we couldn't have it and if we weren't out of the rooms in 5 minutes, our $200 deposit on the rooms would be kept. The receptionist at the front desk was extremely snobby and rude. Very unprofessional and not serving they paying customers well at all, wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. You've lost my business and all the business from the rest of guests I talked to that surrounded us.

Really loved it! I was booked at the Red lion across the street and I found the true American horror story will just leave it at that. Holiday Inn Express was great very clean VERY NICE STAFF AS WELL!

Not the best part of Tacoma but the location was right for us in that it was near our church and we didn't want to drive far on NYE (to avoid any drunk drivers). Our original room was okaay except that the heater blew cold air. It was freezing outside and in buy we tried to wait thinking it'd heat up. Eventually we asked the front desk for another room because ours wasn't getting any warmer. We were upgraded to a king with jacuzzi room at no additional charge and allowed an extended checkout because of the inconvenience. Excellent customer service and our new room heated up in minutes. The jetted tub in our room was also awesome. Would stay here again.

The Holiday Inn Express on Hosimer street in Tacoma, Washington was amazing! One of the features that I liked most was how the front desk wanted to know who I was there to see, and made a courtesy security call to the room just to check that my friends were expecting me. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding and the room itself "The Tacoma Room" was unbelievable! An actual hot-tub "jacuzzi" was in the room, a full kitchen (minus a stove) with a microwave and a huge living area with a gigantic bed were furnished. Great help and an even Greater room made my friends birthday one of the best ever! Well done Holiday Inn Express… Well done! 5 STARS!

We had a 2:00 a. M. Cancelled flight that returned us to SEA-TAC; rooms all over were booked out for 3 (myself and two teen children). Service was friendly, extra helpful & included breakfast for weary travelers. Room was clean and beds comfortable. The front desk took the extra step to research bus schedule and print out for us to return to downtown Seattle while we were checking out. Thank you! It also helped that I'm IHG member.

We booked the room online, was thinking we were going to be get a small one bedroom! The front desk staff was so helpful and friendly, we ended up getting the best room in this joint! The hotel is so clean and fresh, the pool is wonderful, a nice location! I would recommend this place to everyone!
