Easy access to Medical Center. Older hotel, but was clean, a/c cooled our cool nicely, 42" TV and friendly staff. Did not eat breakfast, but there was scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy and biscuits. Reasonably priced for a medical stay. Will probably stay again for next appointment.

This is the worst LaQuinta Inn I have stayed in. If it had not been for the non-refundable clause I would have stayed elsewhere. The entire hotel is in bad need of renovation and pest control treatment. I gave it 2 stars because of the friendly staff. I cannot blame them for the rundown appearance, dirty carpet, chipped/peeling paint around the room doors, cracked tile in the bathtub and roaches that were in the dining area where breakfast is served. Not to mention the elevator stopped working the night we checked in and was still not working the next day. The stairway was poorly lit and dirty. It was definitely not worth the $84 a night that I was charged.

Staying here, I was not satisfied by the hotel's location or the quality of the building. I did like my actual stay there, the beds are soft, I got a good night's sleep, but I did not like that outside, there was a smell of constant smoke, people were always constantly coming and going during the day, and the parking lot was small. This visit was adequate but not great, I will stay at a La Quinta in the future but I will take great pains to not stay at this location unless things change significantly. It makes no sense to allow smoking when this La Quinta is billed as the Medical Center location online.

Old hotel but customer service from Victoria was the best. Lost my pillow there and called the front desk. Happen to talk to Victoria and she was able to find it and mail it back to me. She wrapped it up in plastic and saved me the cost on purchasing a box. She shipped it out the same day she found it as well. This person deserves a raise!

Great location to Rice and the Medical Center. Easy access to the highway. Rooms are a bit older and the beds are quite soft, but they are functional. The breakfast is decent. Overall great value.

Staff was friendly but the hotel is dated, unsafe and needs repairs. My family had two rooms and one door in room 223 would not lock due to a previous break in. My son barricaded the door with a chair — unacceptable. Cancelled the remainder of the reservation due to safety concerns. I really should not have to pay for one of the room nights because the unit was not safe. Also, desk staff did not answer phone on at least 7 occasions and the phone rolled over and told me to enter a remote access number I did not have. I will not recommend this site to anyone. Had stayed here years ago. So, decided to return. Not the same experience this time. Hotel is a bit rundown. Room was okay, but not great. I did see a big or two. Front desk agent was friendly, but was not familiar with how to handle federal tax exempt guests. Said he would pass on to the manager the next morning. Needless to say, tax exemption was not honored. So, in the future, I will choose another hotel.

Good place the breakfasts can improve.

It was a pretty good stay. The place could get rid of old carpeting and paint the doors hut for the location and price it was good for us. Very nice pool though I did not get to go in this time.

Can you give negative stars? This place is REALLY, REALLY bad. When we arrived, we drove around to the back of the hotel where our room was located. We immediately saw a large rat dragging something across the parking lot. My wife didn't even want to get out of the car. She eventually did and we went to our room. Upon entering the room, we noticed that there were stains on the floor. I figured well any place can have a couple of stains. After considering in looking at the rest of the room, we decided to stay. That was a mistake. I was sitting on the bed while my wife was in the bathroom and I heard a scream. A roach had crawled across her foot. She killed it and said "It's OK. It's OK. " I was kind of afraid to even sleep there at that point but it was really late so we decided against leaving. We figured we could gut it out. The next morning my wife took a shower first. Then after she was finished I entered the shower. When I looked down I saw that I was tracking dirt into the shower that had been accumulated from the floor from just walking from the bed to the shower. Those weren't just stains. That floor had not been cleaned in a very, very long time. We were supposed to stay two night but checked out the first thing in the morning after the first night. I sent an email to LaQuinta corporate about the condition of this hotel and they didn't even bother to respond. Do NOT! I repeat DO NOT stay that this LaQuinta!

There have been a few recent bad reviews, but we didn't have that bad of an experience. Yes, the hotel needs upgrading and I've included pictures, but our room was comfortable and we slept well. The rooms were priced accordingly and was only around $80 in an area where most rooms start at around $150 and go up from there. The elevator is small and I posted pictures to show that. The breakfast, which is included… had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, a variety of other items such as cereal, muffins, toast and more. Waffles weren't available because someone had not gotten their waffle out of the maker and it was burned in, but I do know it was from that morning, because I had looked at the waffle maker the night before and it was clean.

Room was fine. They were remodeling so lobby was a little messy. Even though there was no smoking, I could smell smoke. Convenient to the hospital district.

We are from Chicago, as a family we came to Houston to have some quality time together. Everything went well until we arrived at La Quinta Inn. We booked 4 rooms for our large family. To start off, when we came into the hotel room we immediately spotted a cockroach walking into rhe bathroom. The bathroom is directly next to door. I called my family to see if they had the same issue and 3 out of 4 rooms claimed to have seen cockroaches as well. During the night I went to use the restroom, and once again, I spotted another cockroach climbing the shower curtain. I tried not to think about it during my stay, since it was only for a night. When I thought this can’t get any worse, my sleep was interrupted by a loud noise coming from the small fridge in the corner. It almost sounded like a cracking noise which made it difficult to fall asleep. We are not the type of people to complain about anything but this was absolutely not acceptable for a hotel near downtown Houston. Will not be returning to any of these Quinta hotels. Poor service, bad experience, and this place definitely needs to call an exterminator.

So to make it as simple as possible. We drove over 4 hours to visit my girlfriend's best friend's mother-in-law that is currently at MD Anderson. We checked in and went up to our room, and as we are turning the corner we find a guy on the floor bleeding profusely from his head as well as urinated and defecated. We proceed to call 911 as well as started cpr, because the property security kept calling the front desk guy that decided to show up after we had to go flag down the EMS and fire department. Needless to say after we left I had to explain to my 4 yr old son what he had just witnessed. On the plus side the EMS did say he was going to make it but over all a very bad experience.

The location of the Greenway Plaza La Quinta is perfect. They REALLY need tyo put down new carpet. It's wonderful they're so dog friendly, but please change the carpet — it WASN'T this way 3 years ago. Seems as tho the parking lot could be better cleaned. But! The staff is SO FRIENDLY — makes up for anything negative.

I would advise everyone to stay away from this location due to the deteriorated, deplorable conditions of the premises. I booked the stay online with La Quinta at the Greenway Plaza location, but upon arrival to the actual hotel I realized it would not be possible to stay. The floors are stained, the carpets are damaged, the walls are chipped, wires are exposed, the elevator has a stench, the hallways have a moldy stench, and the rooms smelled as well. I have contacted Corporate in Dallas, Texas, in which they proved to be disinterested in the conditions of this hotel. I spoke with the General Manager of this hotel and she was disinterested in the conditions of the hotel as well, and refused to offer a refund, even though I did not stay a single night. I was charged for all three nights even though I did not spend a night in this poorly maintained hotel. I am still handling the dispute issue and would reemphasize again to stay away from this hotel. This complete disregard for the conditions reflects poorly upon the management and image of this establishment as they allow hotels like this to remain open. I, unfortunately, will never return to any other La Quinta location and would advise others to stay away as well. It is best to save your time and protect your peace of mind from exposing yourself to this hotel or establishment.

This is exactly what I wanted & expected. It is located near all my interests. The free breakfast was more than I expected. I enjoyed waffles, sausage, & ham & cheese omlet. There was much more offered. I will be back next time I come to Houston.

I stayed here from Sept 29th-Oct 1st 2017. The gentleman that assisted us was very accommodating and pleasant. He is the only reason for the 3 star rating otherwise I would've give a 1 star rating. So actually he deserves a 5 star rating and the room a 1 star rating. There was some work being done in the front lobby which you just walk around. Our room was located around the back outer buildings. There was trash in the parking lot outside of the dumpster along with a small grill, bag of charcoal, and lighter fluid. They gave us a room with the 2 double beds, mini fridge, and microwave. Upon entering we noticed a musty damp smell. Everything seemed fine besides it needing a deep cleaning and being updated (dust and dirt in the corners). We ended up going to the store for cleaning products and cleaned the toilet and tub, and bathroom door ourselves. The bathroom was very small. Night one had no other incidents. Saturday, housekeeping knocked on the door and after a few moments she opened the door. While housekeeping was knocking on the door I had been distracted by a roach crawling on the inside of the door so we were trying to find anything to kill it with. Upon returning to the room later that evening I saw another roach in the bathroom. Fast forward to bedtime and I saw another baby roach. My hair bonnet had fallen on the floor and when I picked it up and put it on the bed it, the baby roach, was apparently on the bonnet and tried to make a run for it.

IS A 1/2 STAR RATING AVAILABLE? You don't get what you do not pay for. My wife and I arrived around 10 p. M. We had reserved through LQ a room with a King bed. When we arrived we were told the only King bed room was a smoking room. While our reservation did not state "non-smoking"; neither did it indicate a smoking room. Receptionist relocated us to a room with two full beds. Eventually in the middle of the night my wife had to put a towel over the pillow because it smelled of smoke (the room obviously had been smoked in recently). THE DOOR PASSES DID NOT WORK (one of us had to stay in room at all times to let the other in). Other items: multiple stains on rug, no iron, towel rack falling off, dirty bathroom floor (poor paint job also), black lint on sheets (at least we hope it was lint), etc. I would have gladly paid another $50-100 to have stayed somewhere else!

Quick check in, privacy, smoking & non smoking rooms, worth the price. Manager & Assistant Manager Ladies were AWESOME. Period.

For the cost, it's a good value. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the continental breakfast was ok for a quick breakfast. Just be sure to park early in the evening, as the lit is small and fills up quickly.

This place is in bad shape! It needs a lot of work to it. We got into our room a there was a Roach on the wall. The next morning I went to the restroom and there was a giant one on the ground so I reported to the front desk they said they'll get someone on it but I can tell no one has been in our room maybe they should just show this place down awful.

I've stayed here at least 3 times (once with my family). It's the closest to downtown that I would say is reasonably priced. It does take about a 20-30 minute commute to the heart of downtown Houston on weekdays. Good continental breakfast with lots of carbs, some yogurt, hot waffles (make 'em yourself) and boiled eggs. Coffee was okay. There was a Starbucks automatic machine so that was good when it was working. Rooms won't pass the white glove test, but sufficient. I would still say that it's still a bit pricey for the quality, but I'm frugal. I've stayed in much worse for a lot more and I've stayed I a lot better for much cheaper. Fair. Staff was great!

Very good place to stay if undergoing medical treatment as they have a friendly and frequent shuttle service to area hospitals. Facility is very slowly being improved, but numerous repairs upgrades still needed. Good breakfast if you are flexible in your timing, they don't refill anywhere close to fast enough to keep main items (biscuits, gravy, sausage) available, especially when more than 3 or four guests eat at same time. Enjoyed nice new fresh ground Starbucks coffee machine. Staff is helpful and friendly. Meets our needs for a no frills place to stay while family member goes for MD Anderson checkups.

Desk and other staff professional and very nice. Rooms clean and nice. Pool is clean and refreshing.

There weren't many options for breakfast, but the choices they had were pretty good. Room was clean and spacious.

This hotel is okay if you just need a clean place to stay. It is a no frills hotel with a friendly staff. They serve brkfst, but they only have weekly housekeeping. I personally like the weekly housekeeping because I don't need my room cleaned daily.

The young lady at the front desk and the gentleman that I think was the manager (so sor ry I can't remember their names) went out of their way to accommodate us. My husband is in a wheelchair and his broke just as we got to the hotel. The hotel had a wheelchair that they let us use through out our stay. I will definitely stay here again. I dont care if the rooms are dated, you can't ask for better people.

The General Manager of this particular LaQuinta Inn was very polite and responded to my issue in a timely manner. He was extremely fair in resolving my issue by refunding me the cost of one night's stay (out of three). The room was very clean and the beds were comfy. The price was right and, for a two-star hotel, it definitely met my expectations.

This place isn't the nicest. It's pretty common to see people smoking in their rooms with the doors open but it's located close to multiple hospitals. I have a sick family member and we drove to Houston to seek care for them. This hotel offers medical rates so if that's the reason you're in town this may be a consideration for you. The staff were kind and helpful and breakfast bar included a waffle maker.

I'm here now, every room smells like smoke so far. Looking forward to my breakfast, unlikely it will be good. Named several of the roaches. It's kinda like the movie Joe's apartment, but they don't talk and sing. The only reason I put 2 stars is because it's next to a store, and I bought beer.

I am a loyal LA Quinta customer. The location I recently visited wasn't great but was good. I think it was converted. But overall good customer experience.

LA Quinta Inn in Houston, area code 77004, clean rooms, clean bathrooms, good customer service. No problem with key cards. No bugs or pests. Showers work perfectly fine. The Wi-Fi is on and off at night but during the day it's perfectly fine.

The rooms are nice. It is in a great location with easy access to local restaurants, shopping and MDAnderson Hospital. Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. We plan to stay here again if we have to come back.

The truth is pretty good the price fits well.
