This was the most pleasant hotel experience I have ever had! Every staff member greeted me with a smile and talked to me. They made me feel like they were genuinely glad I was there. The rooms and amenities were clean and well cared for.

Before I made reservations I checked reviews as to see if this was a good hotel. Decided to make reservations but called the hotel first before booking on line. They told me a king suite had a king bed and a queen bed. So I booked the room. One for 2 nights and another room for one night as we had another family coming the second night. When we arrived I was told no the room only had one king bed. Said because it was done through booking. Com that was the problem. They were unable to give us another room because they were booked solid. So we went to room and decided we could probably make it work. Asked them for a roll away. Didn’t have them. Asked about the safe and that was the previous owners fault. The kicker now is I received my credit card bill and I have been charged an extra 95 for a room charge. Called and said it was a preauthorzation. I should receive credit back. We will see cause I wouldn’t go back again.

This is one of the most wonderful hotels in which I’ve ever stayed. The staff was great!

Staff were all friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and clean. I had to leave early in the morning, well before breakfast was ready, and was planning on stopping somewhere for coffee. But the gentleman at the office let me know there was coffee ready. It was nice and hot and strong, which was just what I needed. Located close to lots of quick-service food, gas stations, and the like.

Loved the rooms they are very spacious. Very affordable price, clean hotel and rooms, friendly staff, good pool. Special thanks to Angie and Sam for making our stay very comfortable.

Excellent hotel, clean rooms and some of the best front desk staff and management at any hotel I have stayed at. The rooms are surprisingly large and well kept. The bed was very comfortable and the maid service was very good. The price was very reasonable. Overall, an excellent value for the price and when you factor in the excellent staff, I highly recommend this hotel.

The male manager was very helpful, but the lady at the counter acted as if we were bothering her when we asked questions. I booked the king with the jacuzzi and when I got there they told me all the jacuzzis were broken. They told us the hot tub closed at 10. We went down at 8 and they had already turned it off and said it would take 8 hours to heat up. We were there 2 nights and housekeeping doesn't replace your sheets, they just make your bed with the same sheets on. Housekeeping does not empty trash or replace your soaps either. I've never been to a hotel like that. Their gift shop was a shelf with 3 shaving creams and 1 can of spaghetti ravioli. The buffet breakfast was under par from any hotel I've been to including other best western. A patron in another room had a tarantula in their room that the manager had to come remove with an ice bucket. I had 3 rooms for 2 nights and 1 of them had a strong smell of mildew. Overall poor experience. Would not ever recommend!

Great customer service! Very friendly staff. Nothing fancy but very clean spacious rooms! I’ve stayed here several times and every time is great.

I enjoyed my three days here and the rooms are spacious, luxurious, warm and inviting. The beds are so comfortable, with four top quality pillows. Decor is well done gives an inviting and relaxing ambiance. Great TV channels with HBO and has a small microwave and good size refrigerator. Cabinets to store non-perishables. The staff are welcoming, they make sure needs are addressed! Their breakfast of sausage gravy, biscuits, toast, cereals, oatmeals, and make your own Texas state shaped fluffy waffles (with coconut, chocolate chips, or sprinkles) if you want to add them and syrup. Apple juice, orange juice, ice cold water. French vanilla, hazelnut creamers for your meduim roasted coffee or decaf. My Mom who lives here came to stay with me and the staff were very caring and helpful to her, they were talkative but professional and engaging. 'll come here again!

This was our first time staying at a Best Western brand hotel. We were in town for an anniversary party and this hotel was suggested since it was the closest hotel to the event. We were disappointed to find that 30 minutes before breakfast time ends, there was no biscuits or bread available. There was no hot eggs available. We are used to having breakfast items available until at least the time allowed for breakfast. We couldnt find anyone in the breakfast area until it was time to clean up. We wanted to go to the 24 hr Market Pantry in the hotel to look for snacks for us to take and that too was left with only cans of Ravioli and Vienna sausage. We decided we would continue to stay with the other brand of hotels we are used to. The rooms were quiet, clean and comfy but we did expect the same items as other hotel.

This Best Western is a credit to the chain! The rooms and the staff are first rate! We will return here whenever we are in the area.

Great place to stay in the valley, our room was ready and clean when we arrived. Close to highway and other businesses. Would've given five stars but my safe did not work so I had to opt out of cleaning service for the four days we stayed. I also find out a crucial piece of information on my last day there, your cell phone will reset your plastic key card to the room if they get to close together. I wasn't aware of that until my 3rd trip to the front desk wondering why my key wasn't work again. Hope this helps with your decision on a place to stay in South Texas, I now read as many reviews as I can on places to rest my head at night.

This hotel is an older building and in need of serious upgrades. However the staff was very helpful and friendly during our stay. The breakfast bar was pretty good and had waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy fruit, cereal and a variety of beverages. If not for the staff and breakfast, the hotel condition would have kept this a 3 star.

My wife and I actually had a great stay. The problem we had was for what ever reason maid service was never conducted. No fresh towels bed not made. After a two night stay fresh sheets and towels would have been nice with out having to ask for them. We did have friendly service and very polite management but just not full service.

Nice clean hotel. But the Desk Clerk Angie was absolutely terrific and would be one of the reasons why we would come back!

Very pleased with the room, nice and clean and the bed was comfy. This last time I stayed the breakfast was very limited at 8:30am, waffle mix wasn't working and they had little to no eggs and they didn't have any sausage/bacon or potatoes out for consumption, not that big a deal but when you need to eat and run real quick it kinda puts a damper on the morning.

The hotel was well kept. The room was bigger than we expected, very clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

Excellent value for the price. Very clean, smelled cleaned too without recently popular hotel deodorizers (we hate them and they give us headaches). We did not find any bugs or evidence of bugs, trust me I check every hotel bed before we stay. King bed was so comfortable, but pillows were too fat and I could not find anything to use as a perfect pillow for 4 days ugh. Staff greeted us with smiles and were nice, continental breakfast was okay (they purchased dinky muffins not good) State of Texas shaped waffles were cool and tasted homemade! Hot tub was not working which is why we booked the hotel, pool looked good but was unheated so why have it in 42F weather unless they keep it working?

Room is musty smelling. The room is clean though. Bed is comfy and so are then pillows.

So far so good. Nice beds and pillows and waffles, very quiet place too. Ended up they skipped a full day of housekeeping, we found a roach on the fire sprinkler overhead. Kinda disheartening with it up there all morning before we left.

Our room was clean and roomy. Being a holiday weekend hotel was short staffed. When I asked for clean towels due to no housekeeping on Christmas day seemed to be an inconvenience to front desk worker who was sitting in his car parked in at entrance of hotel. Breakfast was cold and 2nd day there was no coffee. Coffee maker in room did not work. At check in I requested that receipt be slid under my door and it was not. At check out receipt was still not available and was told it would be emailed to me. I still have not received receipt. Front desk clerk questioned why I had such a good deal on hotel rate when I asked her about my reward points being added to my account. Booking room was easy. I had trouble with booking on BW website so I called hotel and they honored rate on BW website. Fitness center also needed attention.

The hotel was nice and comfortable, however do not stay here over a weekend if you plan to use breakfast as one of your meals for the day. They do not sure a normal breakfast on weekends, we where very disappointed.

The hotel as a whole was clean. Acceptable for the price and a short term stay. Breakfast was okay; the standard hotel continental breakfast. However, one of the beds in my room had several strands of hair on the sheet you sleep on (zero stars for this part). The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful; she assigned me a different room.

Friendly staff from time of check in. King suite was spacious and orderly upon arrival. Two negatives: 1) The chairs and sofa were stained and looked a little gross so I was hesitant to sit on them without a towel on top. 2) The pool was a little dirty and the chlorine was a bit overpowering.

I love best western the staff is very friendly will stay again will return again.

My stay at this hotel was good. Two thing I would like to see change — 1. To have the continental breakfast stay till ten and not nine. 2. To have a shower mat in the tub it is very slippery at times and one can slip, fall and get seriously hurt.

Really clean and comfortable rooms. Enough parking. Customer service is wonderful. Good variety of items at the breakfast bar. Going back next time I visit tx.

The room was very nice and clean except for the upholstered chairs and the couch. They were stained. Other than that all was nice.

Would of given it 5 stars but I was on the third floor and it was HOT ac would not get the room cold enough for me. Hallway was super HOT. Ask about changing room to another floor and they said they were booked. Hmmmmm… Not very many cars in the parking lot to say full booked. Not too happy with that answer. Been staying at best western for a long time. Thought I would get better treatment. Breakfast was good first day with eggs sausage and hash browns after that just eggs. But OK. Overall a nice place to stay as long as its not on the third floor and breakfast could be a little better,

The weekend breakfast is very limited. Much better breakfast on week days. Staff very efficient and welcoming. Internet slow. Room well appointed except for sofa. Sofa is much too low for a disabled person to arise easily. The refrigerator in our room quit on the second day. The desk is well placed for a disabled person. Having a table as well as a desk is great. Will stay here again.

I was in the valley for business and normally stay at one of the Marriott hotels. Their rates were above what I usually pay and was willing to try something else. I found BW online and the rates were great! I was hesitant at first but took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in. The outside appearance was great and the lobby and rooms seemed very new and vibrant. I have another trip scheduled and already booked another stay.

We stayed for 3 nights on a recent visit to my parents. The accommodations were excellent! Clean, spacious and comfortable. We loved the suite and it gave us plenty of room to spread out. The breakfast was not the best and that is the reason for 4 stars. The offerings were not kept up or hot, although the breakfast area was clean and comfortable.

Even though we got a good bargain for the room, it smelt like mold and both my son and I suffered bad allergies due to the room ordors. I stayed at the best Western in Harlingen texas.

The service was great! There was a gentleman working the front desk at night over the weekend and he was great and very polite. Also the bedrooms we're very clean and customer service was great when needed! The swimming pool was very fresh and clean and breakfast was great! Highly recommended to anybody in the area!

I loved the two bed room. The pillows are really comfortable.

The room was quite large, the shower had a overhead rain shower head which was really cool, the staff was very friendly, and the bed was comfortable.

Food was supposed to be serve (hot) at 6am, powdered cold eggs with mushy, pasty corned beef hash and some form of cold hash browns.

AC was weak, as in the fan didn't blow much, and the curtains blocked what little airflow there was. The room felt stuffy upon entering, but at least we were able to open the window while we went to dinner and that alleviated it somewhat (no screen on the window). The drain in the bathtub was slower than Christmas, and even with turning off the water to soap up, one's feet were completely covered with gunky water by the end of the shower. Soft beds. However, the room was clean and the large TV had lots of good channels.

The young lady at the front desk (named Littie or Lithie) didn't seem too welcoming at all (no smile, no enthusiastic greeting) … just kind of ho-hum and non-chalant about greeting me as a guest. Paid $105 for a single/king and Was pleasantly surprised by the overhead waterfall showerhead in the shower only too be disappointed that it didn't work. Only the wall mounted shower head worked. Was further disappointed by seeing a roach crawling up the wall by the table that I was eating at. Called front desk gal/Lithie who said that since maintenance person is gone she can only come to room and spray or move me to another room. (No one wants to move after having unpacked and getting comfy). No apologies or empathy from her. So I asked for manager who was unavailable till next morning. Ended up simply killing the roach myself but next morning got out of shower to find a spider crawling on floor as I stepped out of shower. Killed it. And I'll be speaking with manager this morning. Slept great though! Room was decent.

Suite was very nice. Beds were comfortable for my month business stay. Also had a 42 inch flat screen TV to feel more closer to home. High speed internet was awesome with speeds of up to 25 Mbps at times so I had no problems watching netflix or playing on my PS4 when I wanted to relax and not go out. Only thing is I wish they would wash the carpet more often and vacuum and scent the elevator cause it was dirty the while time. Other than that I would stay again for sure.

I was pleasantly surprised that I only paid $100 for a Saturday night here. This place was the nicest BW I've ever had the pleasure to stay. I think the place is probably fairly new, because it's in terrific condition. Huge room for cheap. I would recommend staying here for your trip to S. Padre if you don't mind an hour drive over to the island. Will save you a ton of money over some of the dumps on the island that charge $200/night. Only problem I had were the damn noisy kids stomping up and down the stairwell and the hall above — but management took care of that.

We first stayed at this hotel in 2004 when it was brand new. We stayed in it again in April 2009 for 5 nights while visiting and touring the Harlingen area. The hotel is wonderfully located and easy to get to. The beds were great in 2004, they probably need to be updated, could feel the individual springs in 2009. We did have a hard time finding a decent pillow and I was close to going to Walmart and buying my own. (How would I haul that on the airplane too? ) The pillows felt as if they were filled with bed sheets or pieces of fabrics. They were awful! We had a great breakfast every morning before we left for our days activities. Our room was cleaned when we returned except on Easter Sunday. They did change our towels, but did not clean the room. (Understandable, it is a holiday! ) My children enjoyed the swimming pool and the hot tub was working! This hotel needs to buy new pillows, and just maintain a little more so that they wil continue to have good reviews. If the only thing I have to complain about is the hotel pillows, then I think I could recommend others to stay here. The hotel is very close to a Sonic, Subway and other restaurants and a mall, Target, Walmart, HEB grocery store, Golden Corral and other places to shop (just in case you need a pillow! ).
