The only negative thing I have to say is in regards to their temperature control for the rooms. When we walked in it was crazy humid, and after traveling all day on a hot July day… it’s not fun to walk into a humid room. We stayed there during the last week of July. After turning the AC on, it worked great! The room and bathroom was clean. We arrived late at night and the woman that checked us in was nice. The woman in the morning was so nice, her hospitality was outstanding. She made our kids feel so special, it was their birthdays. The breakfast was good. It wasn’t a huge buffet, but it normally isn’t when it’s free. Coffee, juice, fruit, waffles, cereal. The Texas shaped waffles you can make are so cute and batter made fluffy waffles. It was a nice place to stay on the way to our destination.

I liked the pool. It was very fun and I had a great time with my family. The rooms were pretty nice and so were the restrooms.

I love the waffles in the shape of Texas.

We were in room 103. Very comfortable but morning starts early with sounds of ice machine, food set up for breakfast loud enough to rouse us. Ok if business travel or early risers. We would stay again on vacation but different room.

My husband and I have been coming to Harlingen for 7 years to avoid the the ice, snow, and bitter cold of Iowa in the winter. We make Super 8 in Harlingen our home. VJ and Varsha provide us a safe and pleasant place to stay for 1 or 2 months in the winter. Thanks for another great snowbird winter.

Lady behind the counter was a bit rude. Besides that the room was nice and clean. My experience would have been better without the rude middle eastern or Hindu looking lady.

We booked a room at Super 8 under the impression that we were going to have an extra pull out bed but when we got there we were told that there was no pull out bad and that if we wanted one it would cost us an additional $20 for a bed smaller than a twin size. Upon arrival we had the front desk person call our room and asked why we had two additional adult when those additional adults were in fact my 15 and 16 year old kids. He went on to charge our debit card and additional $20 because he assumed that those two people were in fact adults then I went and asked him about it and he said he apologized and said that he would refund the account. 2 days after our arrival we were leaving and we asked him if and when the credit had been placed on our debit card and he said it would take up to 72 hours. As of today I'm not sure if we have received the credit. I highly doubt that we will be returning to Super 8 in Harlingen again.

Good place for the price, this clean, the dependents in front are friendly, I recommend this place to all of you, eh been here on several occasions and the service is the same every time.

Place tried to charge us extra (TWICE), when we had a reservation for less. House keeping kept banging on the door when we had the "do no disturb" sign up. Room was ok, but the hallways smelled like an ashtray and in the morning the smell of pot was strong in the stairway. Both hotel staff would not let us change the room. Never again will we stay here. The slightly cheaper price was not worth the troubles we had here.

The cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the beds are good but overall it looks old and sloppy.

The owners are 5/5 super friendly, present, gave recommendations for things around town. The hotel is very clean as well. It is old however — noted the TV's were old boxsets.

Comfortable beds, 3 pillows each and nice bath tub! Plus great TV channel selection.

Clean rooms thats about it. Paper thin walls. I listened to my neighbors have sex all night and they had their TV volume at max. If anyone slams the door in the hotel you can hear it. Breakfast was completely gone at 7:30am. Done with super 8. Too much money.

I really liked it but I wish the halls didn't smell of cigarettes so much. Other than that it's good.

Nice staff, room is outdated. A/C barely works, old TV's. The toilet in my room wasn't working, I was offered a plunger. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Everything in the rooms are pretty good for the money accept they've got ancient bulb/glass screen televisions in the rooms, at least in my room, ridiculous. And you can smell the cigarettes from the smokers on the third floor coming down into your room on the second floor. That's aggravating and honestly unacceptable. Other than those things it's great.

We got a room with two queen beds. The rooms were clean and bed were comfortable. It was great place to stay the night with the kids after a long day at beach. They had coin washer and dryer we were able to wash our bathing suits. We planning to stay there again when we come back to visit.

The room was "non-smoking", but the entire third story of the hotel smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. There were smoking rooms on either side of my room, and I couldn't understand why there were non smoking rooms on the entire top floor. The hallways smelled like smoke, the stairway smelled of smoke. The toilet bowl wasn't clean upon arrival. The tub had black hair near the drain. The bedding was super cheap, which I completely expected. I mean, who has 5 star bedding at a $60/night hotel. However, the mattress was overly hard as well. It had an old school TV… Switched our hotel to America's best value off Ed Carey and was so impressed with the quality over there. Hard wood floors instead of old stinky carpet, TRUE non smoking rooms, comfortable beds, nice leather couch inside the rooms, brand new flat screen TVs, and I wasn't scared of the bathroom like I was at the Super 8. To top it off, it was $56 a night. WOW! Do yourself a favor and don't make the same mistake I did. Don't stay here.

Over night counter man… was awesome… housekeeping couldn't answer questions. But truly apologetic. Morning manager accommodate us. To allow us to bbq. Though no pits. Had r own. Nice to let us. Rooms clean. Breakfast was good. All the things they had out. Where kept full. Over all 4 1/2 stars…

The hotel is in a nice location. It's easy to get to plenty of food options, mall, or whatever else you may need. The beds are comfortable and updated. Inside is a bit outdated and the rooms have that old moldy hotel stinch.

If I could leave zero stars I would! I had booked the wrong date not knowing I went and the lady in front wasn't paying attention and was taking care of her kid while at work. She had me go up to the room and while I was about to settle in and get some rest after a long trip. She rudely called the room saying I need to get out and pay for the room when it was already paid for. It was her fault for not seeing the dates I wasn't aware of it. She than called her manager and said I was in the room for an hour and I didn't pay. The manager then said he was sorry and I was going to get a refund. This is why I always stay at the Hilton I wanted to try them out but if you like dirty hotels and unprofessional people then this is the spot for you. FYI the Hilton is 20 bucks more and you get a real hotel experience!

Lady at the front didn't really feel welcoming made me feel awkward being there but over all good night rest.

Did not enjoy my stay. Bed to hard and breakfast just sweets. And front desk need be more friendly … it was awful exprence Dont recommend u stay. Will never again stay here. : (

Arrived at 3am, was able to get two rooms for under $150. Easy, fast and cheap. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again.

Our experience with the hotel was wonderful. The room was clean the mattresses were comfortable, The air conditioning worked. The front desk staff were extra helpful and went above and beyond their job. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again,

To my I love this hotel.

Have always loved staying there but since last year2014 had to change rooms 3 times due to fleas and was not satisfied. They allow all kinds of dogs in there which they say no dogs allowed. Would never stay there again.

Nice rooms. TV service was nice. Beds nice and clean as well as room. Shower could have been a little hottee but overall nice stay.

The room was very clean, and everything was neat. The staff made us feel at home. No complaints at all. The only thing that I didn't like, was the internet service and the old TV model. No HD tv, so, no HDMI port on it. The internet access was through a website, and in that website you would have to sign in with a login name and a password that would work for about 12 hours, and then, you would need to get another name and password, and each time you would get off the internet, you would need to sign in on the website. The location is great. The rooms are great, and a good price.

I just want to say the front desk clerk needs a raise the service and rooms are great. The staff go above and beyond to make a guest feel welcome I have always stayed at this location they will always keep my buisness. Great location.

Excellent Room and Very nice and polite Staff. I am winter Texan. I think all remodel room, very modern furniture. I love there breakfast too. Will always stay here from now on.

This place is a S**T hole dont go here I think there was prostitution going on in the room and they smell llke cory the bed are hard as a rock and there was bugs they say its remodeled but thats a lie hindu owned that says it all.

Horrible staff, was treated badly, was given wrong room, next room had holes in the walls, super thin walls you can here everything outside the room, decent breakfast, was charged $40 more than was supposed to for no reason. Everything was bad.
