This is by far the worst Hampton Inn property I’ve come across and I’ve stayed at many different properties (10+) mostly for work. The Hampton Inn ‘brand’ is a good one, so I must lay blame on the owner and or management. This property is old, but even old properties should be refreshed and renewed from time to time. While the common areas seem to have received this treatment (kudos at least in that regard), the bedrooms are in a severe state. Musty and smelly, old failing window AC units, worn old smelly dirty carpets, old mattresses, uncomfortable pillows, clogged drains, lacking electrical charge ports for convenience, missing or lacking desk chairs, refrigerators, irons, and hair dryers to name a few. It’s bad enough the rooms have these problems, however, worse yet, it seems that management is aware. For example, when a customer calls to report something (like a missing or broken item), instead of listing that as an issue for permanent repair, they seem to scavenge off unoccupied rooms. Thus, the problems never get fixed and the next customer must deal with the same problem only in a different room. I concluded this after booking two rooms with different problems but experiencing the same tactics to ‘fix’. I truly hope that the owner and management take these reviews to heart as the longer the rooms are in this state, the worse business will get, and the larger the loan they will need to take to correct the problems. My daughter was in the burn unit at Medical City and I chose the Hampton Inn on Old Shepherd Place to stay. And I'm so very glad that I did. The staff were great, rooms clean and it was a short easy commute to the hoapital. I would recommend staying here to anyone for any reason. They really made my stay during a terrible time so much more bearable. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they did. Y'all were great. Thank you all, especially for the card we found under our door wishing my daughter a speedy recovery.

I always used to love the Hampton Inn. I thought it was an affordable option that was clean, and had a nice breakfast Etc. This time we had lots of little things that did not please me. The internet would not stay connected on my phone, and my phone is only two months old. The desk was what we called to try to get help, but our call went unanswered. We went downstairs to the desk and waited several minutes finally calling out so that someone would come to the desk. When the lady came to the desk and tried for a brief time to help me then she said well I don't know what to tell you because it works on my phone. If that's what you call customer service then you're not my kind of hotel! Furthermore around the sink there were several places that I don't know if it was rust or what it was in the first room, and then the AC was it first freezing cold and then quit working but made up huge racket. They did change our rooms, and aside from the burned-out light bulb in there I don't really have complaints much about the second room. So next time I will be going to La Quinta. They have just remodeled their rooms and their desks are always manned.

TLDR: 3 different rooms, sofa beds didn't work, TV didn't work, and were somewhat unsanitary. I'm normally a fan of the Hilton chain hotels, however, I was really let down by this location. So the negatives… I requested a room with a king sized bed, and a sofa bed. I entered the room, and there were numerous stains on the floor, the couch was some what worn, send the TV didn't work (white screen but there was audio). The sofa bed was a total after thought on the design of the room. The coffee table is bulky and can't be placed anywhere in the room to allow easy access to the sofa bed. The sofa bed can't be pulled out because of the AC units. So… I let the front desk know and they move me to a new room. I get to the new room and the sofa bed doesn't have sheets on it and can't really be pulled out because of the AC unit, again. It happens, I get it. I asked them if they could just supply the sheets for it, and if take care of it. Well… they moved me rooms again. Third room, same issue with the sofa bed. No sheets or matress pad on it, can't be fully pulled out… on top of that the king sized bed didn't have a mattress pad on it either. It's late, I have kids, and I'm no longer inclined to jump through hoops. I tell the front desk, just give me sheets, I'll make the bed myself, and slept on top of the covers because sleeping without a pad under sheets in a hotel isn't sanitary and rather disgusting.

Stayed from 5-9-18 to 5-12-18. Hotel has much deferred maintenance. Windows on first floor were dirty. Carpet in room was stained. Baseboard were all scratched up and needed painting. Wallpaper was coming off the walls in the main foyer area of the hotel. There was a pungent smell walking into the hotel. Not the best experience.

Good clean room. Pretty decent breakfast. Felt very modern and clean. Friendly staff.

I had a great experience staying here! The staff was so kind and helpful.

Rooms were dirty and in need of maintenance. There was a black spot on the carpet by the desk next to a large dead bug. The bathroom sink was cracked. It took a while to get hot water. They stocked the room with decaf since they ran out of caffeine Ted coffee, despite the fact that Walgreens was 100 feet away. Breakfast was terrible.

Nice place, great location. My wake up call was an hour late and the coffee was luke warm at 430am. Small things to be sure, but very important to travellers with early mornings.

My wife and I just stayed here and it’s terrible! Do not stay at this hotel! It’s so gross, dirty, carpets peeling and old, not clean, smells old and dirty and mucky in the whole hotel and rooms and halls, the room air conditioning doesn’t keep the room cool even if we set in 65 still doesn’t get it cool, and the beds mattresses are different and old and not as comfy as other hotels for the same price. The staff is great and helpful so the staff is not the issue. Hampton has just ignored this hotel it seems. Book a place at a different hotel trust me unless Hampton desires to fix and remodel this place. Hampton you need to fix this place!

This hotel needs a revamp. It is conveniently located to restaurants. It is not business traveler focussed. The shuttle service runs from 8:30 To 4:30. My room was well worn.

Rooms were neat and tidy. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice clean hotel. Not full service or newest decor, but it was comfortable and the staff was really great.

Basic room, clean, has everything you need Seems to be ample parking. Didn't use outdoor pool or the gym. Great location for walking (or short drive) to restaurants of many kinds, bars, movie theater, and shopping.

Great Hotel! Great Staff! I almost did not book this hotel due to some of the previous reviews. I am glad, I didn't listen to them and booked anyway. The front desk was very accommodating, and checked us in early. All the staff I encountered was friendly and helpful! The room was very spacious and clean. Would definitely stay again if ever in the area.

This hotel had seen better days. I think the staff tries to keep it clean and maintained, but that is hard to do when everything is worn out.

This hotel is AWFUL! The walls are paper thin, you literally can hear the people nextdoors FOOTSTEPS. No window coverings so the sunlight is constantly baking in. Had to call several times for noise complaints and staff didn't do much. Only decent thing about this place was the friendliness of the staff and the breakfast in the morning.

I can honestly say the only saving grace for this location is the staff. They were very professional and accommodating. I used to travel at least twice a month for work, and Hampton locations were among my preferred places to stay. I've been in Hampton Inns all over the US. My wife and I booked a night at this Plano, TX location while our home was having work done on it to repair a water heater failure. The drying fans were really loud and after a week of the noise, we needed a night away from that. When we arrived at the Hampton, most of the lights in the sign on the building were burned out. It was now an "H In. " When we walked into the lobby, there was a trash can in front of the check-in desk to catch water dripping from the ceiling. We figured stuff happens and sometimes you need to make due. We decided to roll with it. The young lady at the desk was very kind and polite, so we just went with it. We got our keys (cards) and proceeded to go to our room. When we arrived at our room, we opened the door just in time to see what looked like about a 2" long cockroach skittering across the floor, moving toward the bed. We immediately shut the door and returned to the front desk to request a different room. When we arrived at the front desk, another guest (a woman) was there working out a resolution to some problem with the young lady working the front desk.

Great place. Clean rooms. Incredible customer service. Decent breakfast. Clean.

Front desk clerk Erik was very nice and helpful! I forgot ice packs for my son's medications, Walgreens hasn't opened yet so Erik grabbed some plastic bags and helped me " make do" so I could make temporary ice packs. The room was nice and cold, clean.

Hotel is aging, but is improving. As an employee I can honestly say we work very hard to provide quality customer service. Sometimes the old building works against us, but we do our best regardless, and people tell us we're doing pretty well on a regular basis.

This hotel was fairly average. The bed was nice and they had all the basic necessities including many channels for free on TV as well as a decent bathroom setup. The continental breakfast was lacking with choices and the entire breakfast area itself was very dirty. Nothing to write home about, but it was an ok experience.

The worst Hampton (and actually the worst hotel) I've ever had the misfortune to visit. Many, many stains on the carpet in the hallway and the room. No hot water one morning, and barely a trickle of water at all the next. Tons of towels, but no washcloths at all, even when I asked at the front desk. No to go breakfast bags, a standard feature at every Hampton I've ever been in, but not here. Will definitely NOT be back unless I'm assured of major improvements in the future.

This place could use help with their cleaning standards, but the front desk has always been friendly, and the rooms quiet. It feels like an older property, but has newer finishings. Loved the breakfast grab bag.

I guess I got what I paid for. The room was humid even with the a/c on and the room could have been cleaner. The bathroom looked clean but the floor was sticky and the a/c vent was covered with dust. There was actually a lot of dust in the room so you can sort of tell where the room was untouched. The bed was comfy but the comforter was lumpy. You can tell the blanket was not washed properly since the bed filling was bunched up in some spots. Probably not going back.

This Hampton Inn was by far the WORST hotel my family and I have ever stayed in. The facilities were absolutely disgusting. My wife and I found vomit in our trash can when we awoke and it was STILL there when we returned to our room 8 hours later. The maid service is non-existent. We had to specifically request TOWELS and CLEAN SHEETS, as these are not provided to us. The light in the bathroom flickered non-stop and was close to being burnt out. This was all after having to request a new room initially because the fire alarm was pitching high frequencies in our first room. The staff was extremely unprofessional and made it seem as if they could care less about any complaints or accommodations their guests may need. The staff were the most unprofessional I have ever encountered. Watching my wife have to make the bed because the staff wouldn't do their job was infuriating. The vending machines were broke. The most irritating thing was being treated as second class citizens because we ASKED for a standard of care the ghetto staff apparently were unused to providing… i. E vomit free rooms, washed sheets, and electrical fixtures that would work. The staff was even audibly loud/boisterous/PROFANE outside of our room most of the night. I will NEVER stay in another Hampton Inn after this experience.

Quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had at a Hampton Inn. I stayed there two nights for business. Upon checking in the first night, I found a dirty washcloth from the previous occupant hanging over the shower curtain. Gross, but ok, maybe it was overlooked. The next night, I returned to my room to find the bed covers in the floor, the trash can in the middle of my room, beds completely unmade. The dirty towels and washcloths were removed from the bathroom, but clean ones were not put in their place, so I had no towels or washcloths. I called the front desk. I was told that the head of housekeeping would be contacted, and they would be up shortly. 45 minutes later, two people finally arrived and asked me what I needed. No offer to finish servicing my room; no apology, just a "what do you need? " I heard these same two people knock and do the same thing at other rooms in my hall, so I'm guessing my situation was not an isolated incident. The breakfast was also truly terrible. Even for cheap, free breakfast. One of the other guests asked, "What are these eggs made out of? Are they powder? " The hotel worker replied, "Umm… umm… well, they just come in the bag like this. " Yep, they apparently serve frozen powdered eggs. I was also double-billed for the $5 a night Internet service, which I didn't discover until I arrived back home. I had to call twice to get this corrected. I've had very good experiences with other Hampton Inns, but this one was just terrible.

Room was nice. They did not supply extra sheets or pillows for the sofa bed that the kid used. We improvised and shared what we had and made it work. Clean and comfortable stay.

This hotel had all of the good things you would expect from a hotel, but additionally had a kinda cool character. From the posters in the elevator to the post its on the beds when you enter, small, yet unique, the character shined through.

The alarm system went off in the middle of the night and they couldn't get it turned off. Other than that it's a great property in a great location.

Overall good stay. Parts of breakfast ran out quickly but they had different replacements out soon after.

Got a MRSA staph infection here. Had to go to ER to get bloody, pus filled boil drained and a course antibiotics… most likely from unchanged sheets on the bed or bath towels. And I dont know who said the breakfast was good… its unedible.

Seems newly remodeled. The rooms were much bigger than the last Hampton I stayed in. Seemed much cleaner and fresher as well. Staff was very friendly. Simple easy breakfast provided. Nice location in distance from highway. Affordable for what is offered.
