We absolutely love the atmosphere of the River Inn. It feels like a mini version of Bar Harbor with small streets, dinning and shopping all in a very quaint and safe area. Beautiful views of the water as well. Rooms are spacious, cozy, and clean.

Visited River inn of Harbor Town during my grand son’s White Coat Ceremony at the UT College of Pharmacy! We were so impressed with your facility! Beautiful rooms, wonderful food at Paulette’s and Tugs! I highly recommend River Inn during anyone’s visit to the beautiful city of Memphis!

My husband booked this hotel as a surprise for Valentine’s day (a night away from our sweet littles) and it was perfect. It was very classy and relaxing. Everything we needed was right there in the building. Once we got there we didn’t have to leave and find parking etc we just enjoyed the hotel it’s self! Chocolate covered strawberries in the room, the staff was extremely accommodating, helped us get reservations sooner than was available at Paulette’s. Can’t wait to visit again.

When we arrived at the Inn we were greeted by the desk clerk and given our room key. Entering our room on the 2nd floor we noticed it had a musty smell and was very warm. The thermostat on the wall was set on Celsius not Fahrenheit. Neither of us knew how to convert this. I tried adjusting the temperature down but with no result. I call the desk and the same desk clerk came up right away to check this. He found the same results and advised he would upgrade us to another room without any expense to us. We were upgraded from a deluxe room with a king size bed to a suite and the 4th floor with a river view. We found this suite to be quite large and comfortable. At night the air conditioning would blow directly on us making sleeping uncomfortable. Turning down the thermostat did not help. The second night I taped a plastic bag over the vent directed at our bed which helped immensely. I then also found there was a separate thermostat for the bedroom and the living room of the suite. This Inn is small and quiet. We never heard any noise from other guests as you do in larger hotels. The bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom and shower was large. The shower had very good flow however we found only enough hot water for one of us to take a shower. We tried taking a shower earlier in the day the 2nd day but, had the same results. This is an older hotel with nice furnishings, which are also older. If you want a quiet place this is for you.

Loved our little staycation. Amazing staff. Glass of bubbly at check in started it out great. Jack, the night concierge went above and beyond. I highly recommend it! 3 great restaurants all right there.

The river inn was lovely. Great service. Great rooms and building, great views and the breakfast downstairs in Paulette's was great too. Highly recommend. Can't go wrong.

One of my favorite "staycation: places to visit. The hotel staff is amazing. There was a mix up with my credit card charges and it took several calls to correct. Other than that; I'd highly recommend it for any couple as a romantic getaway. The rooms are amazing and the view is beautiful!

Love the River Inn of Harbor Town, got to stay here a few times at a previous job when we were working with the schools of Memphis. This place has an amazing restaurant, the breakfast was nicely put together, felt like they were treating us like we were in their own home. I love the area this was located in too, right off the water, and a nice bar across the street to get dinner or a drink. Would love to return for leisure rather than work.

The hotel is located in Harbor Town, a quaint community with views and access to the Mississippi River, hence the name! The staff were friendly and accommodating. Every effort was made to make you feel welcome and at “home”. Champagne on arrival, port wine and truffles at turn down, and a made to order gourmet breakfast with fresh squeezed juices. What’s not to love about this hotel. For you fitness buffs, there is access to a local fitness studio just a few blocks away. Highly recommend a stay at this establishment.

Still a good little hotel with a lot of great amenities. I do like the service but what I don't like it split floor plan. The staff is wonderful and you get a lot of great perks staying and eating on location. I would definitely recommend the nightly Port Wine with Chocolate Pairing.

One of the consistently best places to go in Memphis for a quick meal and drink. Conveniently located with an incredibly hard working staff. I've eaten here more times than I can count and I will continue to eat here multiple times a month.

Sad to hear it, but the River Inn treated my friend so poorly that I don't think I can recommend this place again. They have a great view but a very misguided sense of hospitality and customer service. It doesn't represent the Memphis I brag about.

Ate brunch at Tugs… they couldn't seem to get my order right this particular day. After 2nd attempt I just said never mind I'm starving. Been several times … food okay. Nothing to write home about.

Wonderful and charming hotel with great views of the Mississippi river and bridge. Great restaurants and bar area. Rooms are well appointed and very quiet. Located in a semi-residential area. Pricing is very high, but includes a full made to order breakfast with great choices. Beds are turned down in the evening and a glass of sherry is left for you also. Would give 5 stars, but the pricing is high and the internet service is slow.

Quaint place along the river. Nice steak. Nice wine. Get there before sunset to watch the sunset over the Mississippi.

This hotel was great. The staff was polite and cordial. Room was very nice and clean. Location was great with good views of the Mississippi river, bridge, and Riverwalk. Definitely, I would stay there again.

While Memphis is known for the Peabody and the ducks which are amazing to see the River Inn is the only place we stay when we go to Memphis their services second to none and so was the hospitality. Also Paul let's has one of the best gourmet breakfast is that we have ever had traveling in fact my fiancé hates breakfast but she loves eating breakfast at this restaurant. Thank you for being a cut above the rest you have loyal customers in the us.

Stay here once and you will have no doubt in you mind why this is the best hotel in Memphis — 5 stars — lauded for their service and the care with which they treat their guests. Karl Freidrich and his staff create a wonderland of hospitality that will make you rethink every interaction you’ve ever had as a guest or host/hostess.

Sunday brunch at Pauline's, I didn't care too much for the selection paired with the red fish entree I thought this dish was missing a vital element to complement meal. I didn't have to wait for a table, service exceeded my expectations. I would say to all reading this post take a trip to Mud Island and enjoy Sunday brunch at Pauline's. Ask for Chris he done a fantastic job and try the shrimp and grits. When my food was served it was nice and hot fresh off the stove. I enjoyed dinning here and would return and recommend others to visit.

Great food, but small portions, and pricey as is most elegant restaurants.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable and elegant. We had a lovely view of the Mississippi river. Breakfast at Paulettes at the hotel was amazing! Brooke at the front desk was so helpful and really made us feel welcome during our stay. Can't wait to go there again!

Cozy place over looking the river. Great for visitors. Staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurants attached are fabulous as well.

The room was comfy but worn. It could use some updating. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The area is older and needs more within walking distance.

Great location & Filet Paulette's is still one of my all time favorite steaks. And the Strawberry Butter & Crepes starter makes the trip there worthwhile.

This was like a bed and breakfast, very quaint. It was right across the street from the Mississippi River. Very nice with a great restaurant.

It is a beautiful hotel with excellent staff. I was here from Wisconsin for a wedding, and a major storm hit… knocking out power over night and part of the next day. The hotel went out of their way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. Restaurants are also outstanding. And, the wedding went off without a hitch from our perspective. They really impressed our family!

We were celebrating a birthday at the Terrace. The food was great and the open air view even better. We were well taken care of by the manager Eddie. It's a great setting, intimate without feeling crowded.

Hotel was great BUT we realized when we woke up that the door was coded to be unlocked the entire night and someone could have just walked right in.

Got the cajun chicken sandwich. Pretty good. Wait stuff was helpful, nice, and attentive. Best part is the Mississippi River is across the street.

The rooms are very nice. The bed was very comfortable. Our room could not access wireless Internet. I could access wireless Internet by going to the sitting room on the same floor. The Terrace restaurant was very slow food service. The Terrace restaurant had very pretty sunset views. The Terrace would be best for drinks only. The food was good. Tug's restaurant was good. Service was good. The restaurant on the main floor had a very nice breakfast that was included in the room rate. Each morning breakfast was delicious. Service was good. Parking was good. A glass of port and chocolate came every evening about 7:30 PM. The atmosphere was very peaceful, and I would stay again. Location is great for all Memphis activities. Our room had a view of the river.

Absolutely perfect! Port wine and truffles in the evening and the fresh cooked breakfast were so good. All the staff at check in and in the bar on the top floor were very nice. Location is extremely convenient.

Unbelievable! The service was off the charts, the food was incredible and the value was worth every dollar. The full breakfast that was included with our stay was more than we could have hoped for. The rooftop lounge has a spectacular view. The front desk was always helpful and responsive and Tugs makes a great steak.

It is everything you could possibly ask for in the perfect place to stay. Great service, gorgeous and comfortable room, free parking, excellent food, fantastic view and free wireless internet. You will not be disappointed.

I surprised my wife with a one night stay at the River Inn for our second anniversary. To my delight, she was overwhelmed by the service and pampering. Our concierge and bell hop were very polite. Our room was well decorated and the bed plush and comfortable. On the rooftop terrace, we had drinks and spoke to the pleasant bar tender while we waited on our reservation at Currents, River Inn's fine dining French restaurant. After a wonderful evening meal, we made it in time to the terrace to watch the sun set over the Mississippi River. Then my wife and I took a romantic walk down the Mississippi Greenway and looked at all the beautiful homes in Harbor Town that run parallel to the River. In the evening, we were greeting by a kind housekeeper who served us complimentary port wine and truffles. After a pleasant evening, the next morning we had a wonderful complimentary breakfast at Currents and were served by one of the best servers we have ever had. River Inn is the hotel in Memphis to take your wife for a wonderful, romantic evening.
