When we arrived at the hotel it looked pretty bad. The property is not well kept, grass needed to cut, outside the rooms needed some cleaning. Once checked in, our towels were handed to us at the front desk and the woman in front of me got white towels and blue towels (? ). When I did get to the room that was given to me, the minute I walked into the non smoking room, the smell of marijuana like to have blew us down, I proceeded into the room and there was dirt on the floor, ashes in the bathroom beside the tub and toilet, beer bottle cap in the toilet, old empty toilet tissue roll on the tissue dispenser, soap and dirt in the shower/tub, the bed was worn out like it had a dent in the middle. When reporting these things to the front desk, I guess the manager, he had someone go to the room, and my friend stated that he sprayed some type of spray in the room. I was trying to ask for a different room and the front desk manager stated that after 3pm no other rooms were clean. Mind you check IN time is after 3pm. Also while talking to the front desk employees to get a refund, one of the cleaning people came to the front desk, stood right next to me and stated to the front desk person, "If you told them the room was clean, what are they complaining about? " I turned to her and stated that, "the room smelt like a marijuana factory and it was dirty and that we wouldn't allow our dog to stay in it.

The bathroom was super tiny, with barely any room to turn around or shut the door. There was also no refrigerator. There were some cigarette burns on the blanket. The water pressure from the sink and shower were also pretty terrible. The room itself was fairly clean, and there weren't any bugs or anything. Additionally, the young man who checked us in expressed his surprise to see myself (caucasian) and my boyfriend (African American) checking in together. He didn't say anything rude, just when we both answered one after another that we did, in fact, have a reservation, he said "Oh! You're together? ". There should have been no expression of surprise.

I enjoy Motel 6. This property in Columbia, however, needs some attention. The guests were really noisy on Monday 18 June. Somehow a fire alarm was pulled at about 3:45 am on Tuesday 19 June. My guess is that it was one of the noisy guests either pulling a prank or playing with fire where he/she shouldn't have been. I will probably never know what happened. I managed no more than about three hours sleep and since it did not seem as though the alarm was ever gong to be shut off I decided to pull chocks and head out on my long drive. In contrast the Motel 6 property in Winchester VA was quiet. It gets my five stars! Thumbs down to that one in Columbia SC.

Room looked like it had been raided before. Door frame was busted, and the dead bolt would not lock. Very bad area. Hookers in parking lot and people standing around asking for drugs and money. The bathroom was terrible. Blood splatter on the wall from what looked to be where a junkie pulled a needle from their vain. The bed linen was stained. I had to stay up all night to make sure my family was protected. Worst experience that I have ever had with a motel, and money that I have ever spent.

The older gentleman who checked us in went above and beyond to accommodate us. He made sure we was taken care of and happy. Very polite housekeeping staff. The room was very clean. Only downfall is a lot of noise late at night.

The worst experience ever! I was looking for peace and quiet. The people are Ghetto as hell. You can hear everything. The cockroaches sleep at the foot of the bed with you. I will never stay at another Motel 6 EVER!

With all due respect to Motel 6, I am not writing this with malice or negativity, the motel was deplorable. The linen had stains, the room had a stale order of cigarettes and there was fecal matter in the toilet. I rented this room as a rest stop but unfortunately I was unable to rest. I had to advice my children not to sit on the bed due to the linen having unidentifiable stains. The base of the bed looked as if it was on the street. This was the worst place I have ever been in. I understand this is a cheap motel but cheap does not mean that It can’t be clean. I really do not understand how this location is open. This is terrible. I could never recommend this location. I hope you can make a change.

I love the upgrade they did to the rooms. I use to come here years ago. It was a well needed upgrade. The staff was great and helpful.

If you want service with a smile, look no further! Ms Cynthia is the nicest woman. She went above and beyond to see that my friend and I were very comfortable upon checking out. Thank you for everything, you a gentle spirit.

Well, the room service is good. The rates are affordable and there is a police officer on duty every night. That may seem like a bad sign of a rough neighborhood but personally I don't mind a bit. Keeps things in order somewhat but doesn't completely dampen the goings on.

Good service but the told can be better. I got a room one night and when I went in, the room hadn't even been cleaned yet. The last person that stayed things were still inside As if they were still checked it. They in fact did check out but the room was just never cleaned so I had to be put in another room where the toilet ran and the sink dripped all night but it was clean!

The floors were disgusting. Very dirty. My grandsons socks and feet were black. Found dead roaches and the bedspread, which I promptly put on the floor was stained and smelly. The walk in shower doesn't drain correctly. Good thing my handicapped husband didn't fall because of the large puddle that forms under the sink!

Didn't expect much, but still was dissatisfied. Room was barely clean, blankets were dirty. Maintaining the building isn't high on their list. Tub felt like you were going to fall through. Toilet paper had been used as a plug to keep a backup out of the tub then left there. Then there are the people, you can hear everything between rooms and this place seems to attract anyone that is ignorant. Screaming, wife beating and drug dealers seem very welcome here.

Uncomfortable beds. Very bright outside windows. Constant noise throughout night. Although the older gentleman who checked us in was courteous and helpful in taking reservation information, management seems alright with the fact that people can scream at each other outside our doors are during the wee hours of the morning. We heard crashing and pounding continuously from the room above. Someone knocked on our door in the middle of the night. Also I think someone drove into a car parked in the lot. The clerk didn't acknowledge us when we checked out. Instead she was in a screaming match with a disgruntled customer. I'm sure you are limited in your ability to impose authority to every room, but the lack thereof made our night insufferable. Noise, disturbance, vulgar profanity and a feeling of overall uneasiness is what our family, children and all, were suscepted to. Our stay was far from anything hospitable, comfortable, or even brought with it any feelings of our personal safety. We will absolutely not be returning.

Stayed two nights for work, two different rooms. First night (Friday) was a 4-5. Room was clean and although the hotel was full — it was pretty quiet. The heat/air unit was not labeled and didn't look safe but it worked. I kept moving the knobs until it got to a setting that seemed to be warm. Second night (Saturday) was a 2* at best. Bed covers were extremely stained. The long table with the TV was a couple feet from the wall. The heat/air was falling apart. The people on the floor above me literally moved furniture and walked around all night. I had to work in the morning. No idea what they were doing but it didn't help my sleep for work. Not the hotels fault but it was frustrating. Altogether, I'd give it another try if I have to work in Columbia again soon.

The room was ok but it had no amenities. We were traveling with our special needs son I asked 3 times for a quiet room away from everyone else but we were put around several other guests. My biggest problem was the safety for my son. There was no proper lock on the door which scared me we asked the front desk clerk if we could have a chair or roll bed to block the door. Her response was make sure to latch the top this hotel is sketchy. We don't offer anything for the doors.

Had someone attempt 4 times to enter room after 10 pm. Come to find out, front office was making keys for someone to enter the room because they left 2 cell phones, a pack of smokes, a blue tooth device box, change, and some shirts. Its like the front desk didn't even know we were checked into the room. I wasn't already feeling safe but was then asked by the front desk to bring the items myself to the front desk. Wife and 11 year old son were terrified when the door was shaking with someone trying to get in. Thank goodness for the deadbolt.

The motel I stayed in was awful the only good part about it was they let us check in early. The motel room smelled, the sheets and blanket had burn holes in them. The water pressure in the bathroom was awful. There was only on towel and wash cloth in the room when I asked for an extra they questioned why I needed more when clearly there was two of us one towel was not enough there was hair in the sink when we arrived and found one dead roach and then killed another. This was the worst room we have ever stayed in and we will not be back.

Had to get a hotel in a pinch. Then experienced a terrible traveling nightmare. And though Motel 6 cancelled my original reservation, they got me into a nice clean room same day. Had problem with key card, but staff was nice about addressing any request. Room 104 noisy but switched to 110… much better! My stay was relaxing when I was in the room. No frills… No microwave, no fridge, no coffee pot, but no problem because I have time to go to IHOP across the street. Thank you Tyrell and all staff I encountered.

Horrifyingly filthy. I expect far better from even a cheap hotel, I had to wear SHOES because I noticed that the bottom of my feet were BLACK from walking on the laminate floor. I was recovering from hip surgery and needed a room on the first floor, but the only one available at that time, (yes I was early as I told them I would be) so I had to wait FOUR hours for them to get around to "cleaning" my room on the 1st floor. (Don't bother helping out a customer that clearly needed help, I was on CRUTCHES) As I was walking to my room I saw an ELEVATOR and could have been in the 3rd floor room instead of in my car. I told the front desk that I didn't KNOW there was an elevator and she actually said "I told you about it" OMG, I was exhausted, in pain and so angry I just hobbled to my room, carrying my bags because they had NO carts for luggage… it was one of the worst places I've ever stayed. I was afraid to even use the shower I was so disgusted.

Worst experience of my life. The staff was not friendly what so ever, other than the foreign man that checked us in. The key card to the room had to be reactivated every single day. The guy in the office the second day couldn’t even answer my questions bc he was on FaceTime with some girl, took my keycard scanned them and handed them back, never even spoke to me. First two nights people next door to us were fighting and yelling to the top of their lungs, and cursing, called the office they said they were sending security, but we never seen anyone even come up the stairs, called the office again, she said the officer should be there in 2 minuets. Still nothing. Finally got to sleep about 3am and had to be back up at 7:30 am. Found two roaches in my bathroom. No fitted sheet on the bed, just a flat sheet thrown over the mattress. Stains on the comforter. Took them three days and a call to the office to get our room cleaned and trash taken out. Through out the day I seen WORKERS, people going in and cleaning the rooms, walking around yelling and being really loud for absolutely no reason. I knew staying at a motel 6 it wasn’t a 5 star, Hilton, I was not expecting fancy at all, but this was much worse than I could have ever imagined. And complaints to the office don’t matter to them. I spent decent money on a stay that was a complete nightmare. As for me and my family we will never be back to this establishment. It was absolutely terrible!

I reserved a room a week ago. There was a wreck on interstate so I didnt get to my room until 2 am so they had canceled my room and charged me a higher rate. Not to mention how terrible the motel was by itself stains all over the bed cigarette burns all over everything in a non smoking room. Would not recommend to anyone.

Location was good, easy acces to and from interstate. Motel was in rough condition. The blankets and sheets had burn holes in them, there were holes in the bathroom wall, the floors were dirty, the water pressure wouldn't get the shampoo rinsed from my hair… it was not a good experience.

Worst experience at motel yet. Counter person rude did not acknowledge me while they talked to friend, then finally asked me what I wanted, explained I had a reservation and he did something took my ID and gave me keys to room. The room was not what I reserved. I reserved 2 queen beds and was given 2 full size beds. Bathroom was dirty and did not look hospitable. Went back to counter and he said that was it. So being I did not want to deal with trying to find a hotel stayed. Worst experience yet.

Nice cleaning staff it is a motel so keep that in mind when booking. Was comfortable clean we just slept there at night.

Absolutely disgusting. They obviously dont wash or change their sheets, we left after the 3rd room we were shown, and the beds were disgusting. There was makeup and what looked like a dry booger on the pillow of the first room, the second rooms sheets were obviously dirty and had hair in the bed. The third room was the cleanest, and it STILL had hair all in the bed. Disgusting.

After reading the online reviews I was kind of skeptic but after staying the night, I added a couple more. I felt safe, welcomed and would stay again. Thanks to all that I encountered who made my stay worth the try! It would have been even better with a microwave and fridge in room.

Let's put it this way you get what you pay for noisy people outside the rooms there was a cop in the office and room was dirty and furniture out dated and no fridge or microwave in room. The only good thing is the woman that checked us in was very pleasant and helped us with our problem. Room was cold but bed was comfortable.

Very clean and all updated. Great location right off of highway. Enjoyed a good nights sleep for an affordable price. Very quiet. Thank you Motel 6!

Thanks for letting us check-in early when no other hotels would. I was so tired after a 9 hour drive and arriving in town at 6:00AM. I really appreciate it!

When I went to check in, the lady at the front desk told me to wait as she finished switching shifts, and then commenced flirting with the male staff there with her. Had to wait up to 45 minutes just to check in. I had booked 2 non smoking king rooms, and my father in law and I ended up having to go and buy our own blankets because the sheets and blanket that were on the beds were covered in stains and cigarette burns. 2 of the 3 nights, our towels were not replaced. Every night, could hear nothing but people walking up and down outside of room, yelling next door, and all of this happening at odd hours of the night. Very unsatisfied and will never stay at a motel 6 again.

Had to go back to the office 3 times because the card wouldn’t unlock the door. Finally an employee tried still couldn’t get after another employee came finally got in after waiting 20+ minutes in the cold. Then I asked for a non smoking room and got a smoking room that smelled very strong. Bed covers were very stained we just threw them in the floor and used our own. The heat didn’t work. It was midnight and we were tired but I will never stay at another Motel 6.

Overall good place to lay down and grab a few hours of sleep. Beds, rooms and bathroom were good and clean. 32 inch TV with an assortment of channels. I specifically was looking for a decent size parking lot because we had a 28 ft. Moving truck with large car trailer (both loaded), wanted to park where we could keep an eye on it. The parking lot was a circle around the building but it was small on room to park cars in a parking space. We thought we would have to park down the street where some one could have stole our stuff but the very kind front desk clerk allowed us to park in the only straight away in the parking lot but we had to unload trailer into the truck after 10 hrs. Of driving. All for 4-5 hours of sleep. Motel 6 an off duty police officer for security until 4am which was good but we arrived at 3:22 am. Overall a good clean place to rest for the price. I would stay here again just not with a moving truck and trailer.

Such a disappointment! The beautiful floors were stucky n dirty! My feet were black in the shower! There was hair in the tub and around the drain! There was a dark hair on my pillow and one pillow case was on backwards! On the bright side: the cable was good, the room was dusted n clean!

My experience was complicated and unsanitary! First put into a room that was still occupied, and then put into a room that was infested with roaches. Thankfully, I just needed a room for the night. I was tired to deal with anything else. I’m originally from the area. So, it didn’t surprise me to find a disgusting motel. I’ve been to other Motel 6 in other states with much nicer rooms! Don’t let this one motel ruin it for all. Get this mess together! I will say that the customer service was great from the GM, but at check in. It seems that the young men were more into their phones, but they still were helpful. Nip the phone in the butt.

Room was clean. A lot of noise (heard dogs in other rooms barking around 11:00 pm and lots of loud talking around 1:00 am and very close to a busy road). VERY weird that there are NO hair dryers available, even in the lobby. First time I've ever stayed in a hotel with no hair dryer! Easy to get in and out of, close to the interstate, and several restaurants nearby. Got there at 11:00 pm and had to wait for shift change before I could check in. Great price for what I needed.

We chose this motel because it was pet friendly. Have stayed in another motel 6 and found it disgusting. Thought we would give it a second try. Very disappointing. Your chain does not take pride in the appearance of your properties. The bed spread had stains on it. The towels were skimpy and I was questioned when I had to ask for towels after checking in. Front desk staff not very friendly. There was no type of luggage cart to move luggage from car to second floor. Umbrellas were left up during effects of Irma. Will never stay at one of your properties again.

The man who checked us in was very nice and the pool was warm. The room was OK, basic, could have done with a fridge. The air con worked well but the sheets had a couple of stains, were not pressed and one set had a couple of hairs on, had they been changed? There was a puddle on the floor under the air conditioner and only 2 towels for 4 people but as the shower only had either cold or freezing cold water, only I took a shower, the children waited. The pool had debris in it, including cigarette ends! There was trash all over the grounds. It smelled like somebody had urinated liberally outside of the rooms, but they had clearly saved the bulk of their bladder contents for the ice/vending machine area! Yuck! Many of the other guests seemed to be incapable of holding a conversation unless they were not in the same room, resulting in there being several people standing outside shouting to an unseen person in a room (I presume they were shouting at an actual person) this, of course, is not the hotel's fault, but worth mentioning! The hotel did not cost much less than others that include Wi-Fi and breakfast so I do not consider it to be good value for money. This was my first stay at a Motel 6, it will also be my last.

I had a great experience at this hotel. The room was so clean and ready early. Front desk was so nice and the pool was so fun and clean. Overall a great experience.

Myself and many of my associates have made your establishment our new home. Good clean rooms at a fair price. Great hospitable staff. I am in the hospitality business myself and if I was based nearby I would raid your excellent staff! Thank you.

No such thing as a non-smoking room here! Room smelled aweful. When I asked for another room they insisted on fogging out The Room 2 which made it smell like a cheap car air freshener and cigarette smoke. At that point I asked for a refund and was patronized. I explained that my wife has cancer and was fairly sensitive to the smell. if the manager read this my question to him is why would you put cigarette ashtrays in non-smoking room that just promote that behavior. You need to to remind your employees and customers always right. I took my business to the day's end about 30 miles up I-26 exit 74. The rooms come with a microwave and refrigerator and it was $20 less.

Clean beds is all it has going for it. NO coffee, NO shampoo, NO conditioner, you must PAY EXTRA for Internet service. No fridge, TV has only like 10 crappy channels. My air conditioner looked like it got run over by a truck and the curtains barely stayed up. Beds feel like flat boards with sheets. Run away!

I'm black, and I just found out what the word n***** means… This place has bed bugs and was remodeled last week… The clientele is sub human as well as staff aside from 2 I've seen. Don't come here for any reason, not even the price!

The check in was excellent. I love check in at motel 6 because it's always so seamless and easy. I had one issue with the room. The television cable was bad. It looks like someone tried fixing it but it still didn't work. I was able to redo the wire and get it to work but it was still fuzzy but watchable. Aside from that, motel 6 has been a definite plus for me.

This place is amazing. I'm here for the night and it's very clean the rooms are amazing and very clean. The lady at the front desk is very nice and friendly. Thanks for making my stay amazing.

The motel 6 in Columbia SC west was supposedly non-smoking. The smell of stale smoke was so bad you could taste it, we were so tired we tried to sleep but after a few minutes I had to use my inhaler. Because we took longer than 20min to complain they would not refund our money and were rude. We will never stay at a motel 6 again.

This hotel is newly renovated but yet it does not have microwaves and refrigerators in the room. The internet shut me down and lock me out that I paid $5 for, Where I was asked to call a customer service number and have them fix it. Its like honestly who wants to be at a hotel and have to call 1 800 number in order to get their internet service. Worst hotel experience ever for me. But the renovation was nice and refreshing.
