Review of Motel 6-Columbia, SC - West 2*

When we arrived at the hotel it looked pretty bad. The property is not well kept, grass needed to cut, outside the rooms needed some cleaning. Once checked in, our towels were handed to us at the front desk and the woman in front of me got white towels and blue towels (? ). When I did get to the room that was given to me, the minute I walked into the non smoking room, the smell of marijuana like to have blew us down, I proceeded into the room and there was dirt on the floor, ashes in the bathroom beside the tub and toilet, beer bottle cap in the toilet, old empty toilet tissue roll on the tissue dispenser, soap and dirt in the shower/tub, the bed was worn out like it had a dent in the middle. When reporting these things to the front desk, I guess the manager, he had someone go to the room, and my friend stated that he sprayed some type of spray in the room. I was trying to ask for a different room and the front desk manager stated that after 3pm no other rooms were clean. Mind you check IN time is after 3pm. Also while talking to the front desk employees to get a refund, one of the cleaning people came to the front desk, stood right next to me and stated to the front desk person, "If you told them the room was clean, what are they complaining about? " I turned to her and stated that, "the room smelt like a marijuana factory and it was dirty and that we wouldn't allow our dog to stay in it. " We have stayed in Motel 6 in Kissimmee and it was nothing compared to this filthy place. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone in SC. It was horrible and I had to go further up the road and spend more money I didn't really have to sleep somewhere safe and clean. The other hotel was well worth it though. Much, much better by 1000%.
