What a great location — steps from the beach, stores and restaurants surrounding it, all walkable. The rooms are basic but have a walkout balcony so you can enjoy the beautiful Hawaii weather. Laundry available on site for a charge. Small coffee machine in room (wish it was large or a Keurig). Staff are friendly and there is a great brewery right on site!

Perfect location, awesome amenities, and spacious room. The customer service is wonderful. The hotel is a bit dated but they are renovating starting this month (June). The only complaint would be that the hotel trolley arrives later than scheduled at each stop (one time it was 15 minutes late, and one time it didn't show up), as it runs later and later in the day because of traffic. As this sounds like a daily occurrence, they should perhaps adjust the shuttle times accordingly.

No frills hotel in Waikiki. The good. It is a fabulous location, in the middle of everything. Short walk to the beach. Great price. The bad. Our room was definitely not clean by my standards. There was hair in the shower and a small blood stain on our sheets.

Good location! Rooms dated but kept clean. Booking though a 3rd party they wanted to put me on the 7th floor or lower unless I paid more but talked my way to higher floor which they accommodated. This is not the beach hotel with similar hotel name but a hotel close to it. Pool and bed was nice. Close to the action in the area which was the best for my family and free trolly transit. Cons there was a couple of receptionist ladies who were unfriendly. Great all around hotel if coming to this area.

The staff havw been exceptionally friendly, courteous, and helpful. The location is within walking distance of many Waikiki hotspots. It definitely feels like you're getting your money's worth.

Hawaii is the best place in the world that weather is perfect you can go any time of year and it's the perfect temperature you have to check out this place when you go check out the stores the restaurants the whole vibe of Hawaii is there it's a must-see!

At check-in, the staff was really friendly. Not sure if it was because the hubs has platinum status at IHG or if it was because we were on our honeymoon but we got an upgrade to an ocean view room and a complimentary bottle of champagne. They also gave us a couple drawstring bags — — I think it's supposed to be one per room but they were giving out extras since they wouldn't need them after February 1. Room was spacious, pillows were particularly comfortable. The balcony was a really cute place to sit and enjoy the view, with the sounds of Waikiki below. There was some kind of street concert in the evening. Also we were pretty close to and able to walk to the Friday night fireworks the Hilton puts on every week. If you want to shop, there's lots of that nearby. Lots of food too, all within walking distance. Valet parking is $38/day. I didn't see signs for if there was self parking because we didn't rent a car.

Nice hotel, conveniently located. All employees have been extremely nice and helpful. Room is great and view is wonderful.

Nice place to people watch. The food and drinks were expensive (but no more expensive than any other beach front hotel in Waikiki. Happy hour beer was reasonable)

Very nice. The people working there were extremely thoughtful and helpful. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Was a little concerned about the sign that said something about NOT washing the bedding?

The Beachcomber is a great place Central in Waikiki was several well-known eateries and Retail spaces around it. Maui Brewing is located there with better than average bar food. The biscuits and gravy have an outstanding Rosemary biscuit, and the avocado toast is praised and celebrated there. There is a pool and hot tub on the premises as well as a fitness center, but honestly we never made it to the fitness center. There were several things we wanted to do but one weekend just wasn't enough time.

Friendly and accommodating staff at the front counter, convenient location right in the commerical downtown area, but dated rooms and decor. The rooms are rough certainly aging. My view was limited being in the third floor. Access to beach isn't too far like half a block walk. But there are probably better options out there unless the price is right for you. It's a good value but they do charge a $20 a day resort fee. The hotel will be changing ownership soon from a holiday inn to an Outrigger Resort.

Staff and room are wonderful. Clean, neat and well cared for. Laundry area is okay, sufficient. Parking is atrociously expensive at $50 a night. Found a lot 2 blocks away for $18/24 hours. Walking distance to beach and many, many shops and food. Grocery within 4 blocks. Maui brewing company restaurant in lobby, as well as jewelry and separate mini store for necessities. Overall, definitely worth the stay. Loud since it is right in Waikiki. Besides parking, my only complaint is no microwave in the room. Mini fridge, iron, blow dryer, fresh towels and toiletries are great.

We had a great stay here (group of 6). Nothing flash but perfect location for Waikiki area. I believe it has a name / ownership change coming up in JAN 2018. Literally walk out the front door, across the road to one of the best Restaurants in Waikiki (The Cheesecake Factory). Also above Macy's so easy access for shopping. I have stayed in more luxurious expensive places in Waikiki but you can not best the location — Awesome.

Friendly staff. Great location. Room was average. Forced valet parking. Has an outdoor pool. No breakfast, but has restaurants attached. Overll nice stay, but it's an average hotel. Nothing special.

The noise insulation is great between rooms makes it easy to sleep if you're a light sleeper. The staff can speak English and some Japanese too. The maids treat guests help very well and ask how your service is, and if they can help you with your room. While the service is great, the price is fairly high. It is a great hotel to choose if in the area.

Great hotel, decent price, perfect location. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooftop pool with the attached Cafe that serves drinks is nice. The attached Maui brewery is huge and had good food. Rooms are good, only bad thing is you can hear the noise outside easily.

Had ahi tacos as recommended by the waitress or should I say food engineer as it was so good I want to come back to Hawaii for them. There is definitely traditional Hawaiian food here although I didn't go for it, the option is there. Its right next to a parking lot if you're driving too. Friendly relaxed and a slightly strange but funny voicemail! Thats if you need to book a table for more than 7 I believe. Otherwise walk in is totally fine. Live music can be found here too.

Decent hotel but staffing / procedures needs improvement. Took an hour to get checked in — and I am part of their elite program that is supposed to have expedited check in. Tried to call the manager twice about the issues and got hung up on once, and put on hold for 20 minutes the second time. Then we had to queue for the elevator — took up to 10 minutes to catch one. Eventually spoke about both concerns with management and they were apologetic but really was nothing they could do to fix the problems (they felt). All week I saw the same problems between 2pm and 6pm. I could think of a few fixes… add more staff; make elite check in separate; Don't take elevators out of service for room service; quickly repair malfunctioning elevators; etc. The holiday inn express nearby is just as nice without these issues — and cheaper.

We stayed for 6 nights last week and had a wonderful time. They helped me plan a little things here and there due to myself proposing to my girlfriend. (she said yes). The put us in a fabulous scary 20th floor ocean view room that was cleaned to perfection every day by very friendly staff. The pool was perfect after a long hot day, great live music at Maui Brew Co… Can't wait to come back and stay again in one year!

It's a great location to be in, all the trolleys starts just around the corner. The pool is just nice after a long day of outings. If you need the building is attached to a great brewery. Just a few steps from the hotel are some great bargain souvenir shops too.

Staff are nice, the free breakfast is great; we paid to get the deluxe king room w/ a lanai and it came with free breakfast. They don't do the typical breakfast here, as they have a cafe inside the hotel. I was very impressed with it. The meal ticket pays for a free iced/hot handcrafted beverage, and a sandwich or an acaí bowl. You can also get a smoothie or waffle/big breakfast for a $3 fee which is very generous considering the regular price was $13. The room is mediocre considering the price and the air conditioning for 90 degree weather. So that is bit of a bummer, but it is a generally nice hotel overall. Would consider staying again for sure.

The place has a nice ambience. The staff were really nice. This place has a couple shuffle board tables and foosball table. It's lively at night. No AC, but it's okay if it's breezy. It has an outdoor feel if your table is near the street.

Went here for mother's day brunch and it was great. The ambiance was pleasant for my family and nephews. I really like the decor and the open space, the tables were well spread out which have a feeling of intimacy for such a large space. Noise wasn't too loud even though there was a game playing during brunch. The food was excellent too. As vegans we tried the vegan bowl and it was very tasty and reasonably priced. Great place, we're definitely chilling back to try some beers.

Awesome facility worth a great support staff, Zeny and Karson are the best. The location is perfect. Everything happens on Kalakaua and the Holiday Inn is right in the middle of it all!

I stayed for 11 nights. It is a nice hotel, clean rooms and friendly staff. They charge an extra $20/night for the use of the trolley, a beach bag and some water in the lobby. This is NOT optional. The trolley only runs once an hour, the water consists of small paper cups and only 1 beach bag per room. I asked for a second one and was told no, despite the fact they probably cost next to nothing, there were two of us and we paid $220 for this service during our stay! This annoyed me and my girlfriend as you cannot opt out. We wanted to take the trolley but missed it by a few minutes and the next one was over an hour away! Not worth the hassle. Otherwise a nice hotel and we had a pleasant stay.

Great location a min walk to the beach, rooms are big and has a beautiful balcony. Showers are a little small but just being picky now. Love it, and would come here again.

Reiko at the front desk was fantastic. She was friendly and warm and made us feel welcome even though our room wasn't ready. She gave us a few suggestions to help us pass the time, then called us as soon as we were able to check in to our room. Thank you Reiko for your phenomenal service.

Too expensive for what they offer. The daily resort fee is a joke, what is for… Is not a resort. Only good thing is the location.

Got a great deal on a room for the week with one night free. What they don't tell you is the 35 dollar a night parking fee as well as there is no breakfast provided as there are at other holiday inns. I'm here for work so it makes a difference. The room is OK a bit small but to be expected, I did get upgraded for being a platinum member so I get a decent view of the water. This is not a beachfront location so high floors are needed to get a better view over what's out there.

Abit disappointing, to start with we had paid for an up graded room to have better ocean view to only be put in the very last room with minimal ocean views. There is major construction going on at the moment next door witch starts at the crack of dawn and goes all day & even into the night half the time. There is also a lot of big groups that stay at this hotel witch means there is BIG waiting time every time you want to go up the lifts. No one is very helpful when concerns are voiced. However the rooms are nice & clean & pool area gets great all day sun.

Terrible stay, stayed for 7 nights on the 22nd floor… paid extra for an Oceanview and got basically stuck right at the back with what can only be called a city veiw. Staff were rude and lazy… Construction went all day into the evenings and weekends… like the people were working Sunday, that's pretty hardcore. It was loud and extremely off putting when you are on holiday and having to wake up at 7ish due to concrete grinding. Rang up and asked to be moved but the rude staff could not have been more uninterested. Yes, it was right in the middle of waikiki but I would rather of stayed at one of the other hotels in the very same area. Do not stay here if you want a good holiday!

Great location downtown. Check in was quick and easy, the room was clean and cool and well equipped. Had a great time being easily able to get to town right from the front door. Self service laundry too. Only possible negative is some construction noises from next door buildings in the morning.

Older hotel. Staff is curious. Oceanview is not really oceanview.

Rooms are comfortable. You can really black out the light if you want. Pool and food is great. Good location.

We stayed on the 2417th floor. Staff were very helpful. Accomodations were acceptable. Loved the view.

I have been traveling to China, Singapore, South Africa, India, Philippines, several places in Europe and North America for the past 25 years and, this stay was my best hotel experience so far. Here is a little story for those of you who wish to read through. Several months ago I booked a cruise to celebrate a 20th anniversary with my wife and, to avoid last minute issues with weather and flights I decided to extend our stay in Hawaii three days prior the cruise and one day at the end of it. At the time of the booking I did not have enough IHG Rewards Points to book 4 nights so I made a reservation to the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber only for last night of our trip and I booked the first three nights through a major Travel website together with my flight. When we arrived in Waikiki we did not like the hotel I booked for the three nights. The second day, we accidentally walked in front of the Waikiki Beachcomber and I decided to check with one of the receptionists at the lobby if I had enough points to switch hotel for the remaining two nights. At that time I did not have my phone with me and could not remember my IHG Rewards number. The lady at the reception said she couldn't look up my account and helped me connect to an IHG operator via the courtesy telephone right there in the lobby. Speaking with the operator I was happy to find out that, at that time, I had earned enough points to book two full nights and a room was available.

It's the best place to have a great sex on the balcony.

Stayed at this hotel from 10 February until 19 February 2015. Our flight arrived at 6:30 am that morning. Because the hotel was in a prime location, the hotel was fully booked. When we arrived, we were told we can't check-in until 3pm. So we "slept" at the lobby sofa. Between 11am until 1pm I kept going up to the check-in counter hoping for early check-in. Being an Australian, I don't want to sound rude or arrogant and politely ask the staff if our rooms were ready. Still the answer is, "guaranteed check-in is 3pm". By 2pm, my wife couldn't handle it anymore because we barely slept a wink from the flight from Sydney. So I plead with the staff to give us a room. 5 minutes later, there was a room (finally) available. First off, the hotel is an old building. Being in a prime location, Kalakaua Avenue, the hotel is kept immaculate. The room given to us was large (compared to any Holiday Inn in Australia). There was Wi-Fi access in every location (lobby Wi-Fi is spotty) and the Wi-Fi speed is very impressive (at least 7 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload during the evening, which is peak times). Since there is only one set of username/password, you can have multiple wireless clients logged in to a single room. We had 5 accounts and no issues were observed. The room TV is controlled by Cisco's Scientific Atlanta boxes. Every room has a functional balcony. The room is very spacious and very clean.

Perfect for its price. Nice location, nice people, nice rooms.

Went to beachcomber in August 2104 for 2 weeks. We were a party of 10 from Australia. Exceptional staff at reception, especially one person that listened to our complaints about noise and moved us to different rooms as they became available without any bother. This helped to make our holiday great. Rooms were cleaned daily and "best' cleaner was Marabel!, always with a smile on her face. Close to everything, beach just across the road as well as food court. Quick and easy check in. Will definitely stay here again next year. Rooms were spacious and good balcony.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Beachcomber in late November/early December 2014 and couldn't have had a more enjoyable stay. Comfortable room, great location close to shops and restaurants on the strip, amazing staff, laundry facilities. The housekeeping, concierge and reception staff would have to be without doubt the most accommodating, warm, knowledgeable hotel employees I have encountered. Thanks for a great stay — we'll definitely be back.

You can not go wrong with this hotel or the staff. I have stayed in Waikiki several times and this hotel has really impressed me. We were always greeted with a kind smile. Very clean. A special Thank You to Daniel for making my husbands first visit to Hawaii Great.

Spent 8 days and 7 nights here, If you are a Jimmy Buffet fan — relax and enjoy the pool with great service from Margaritaiville Pool Bar staff, and was nice to have that option on days that were too windy to go to beach Motel staff was very accomindaiting and easy to work with. You are in the heart of the excitement and action, Best adult beaches (less kids) right across the street and easy to get to with excellant shopping and dining a walk away. Priced right and felt it was a great value.
