Terrible experience! Checked in yesterday arrived back to room today at 4:00pm to find it had not been cleaned and dirty linens, towels and trash lining the entire hallway.
Requested room to be cleaned because we have early dinner plans and was told they had till 5:30 to clean.
First of all that “policy” is not posted on website or indicated on your confirmation email. Secondly told no manager was on duty which was not true. Had to ask 3 people about cleaning our room and still took 1 hour and 11 minutes to get in our room!
So much for Preferred Status! Time to find a new hotel brand!

Our organization had an awards banquet here at the end of February this year. I ended up staying in a friends room and when I came back to my room to pack the rest of my things, housekeeping had taken several things for my room including a dress that still had the tag on it. After repeated calls and emails with the hotel manager, I still have no resolution. If you stay here, my advice would be to put the do not disturb on your door until you check out. Personal items are… not safe in your room and the hotel will do nothing to reimburse you. The GM responded to my review but it was not accurate. First, I am an owner of my company. The person I was sharing a room with DID NOT check out. She left before I did, but DID NOT check out because I still had personal items in the room. David Press assured me on a couple of occasions that the hotel would work with their insurance company to get me reimbursed for my items. This has been going on since March with no resolution. Do not try and but blame back on me for having thieves in your employment.

I was unwell and had travelled all the way from Nairobi — Kenya (summer 2017) to see a geneticist in North Carolina children's University hospital. I and my Ohio based sister loved our stay at Renaissance and felt so well hosted by their staff. I found the barman very professional yet so pleasant and american clients at the hotel were so kind and nice! In my opinion, Renaissance has the best cocktails! Their ceasar salad was an experience of a lifetime! Thank you Renaissance!

Was a really nice hotel. We could hear people out side. We were on the 4th floor. Smelled really good. The bath was amazing and the bathroom looked really nice. It does have a TV in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Service was really awesome. Check in was smooth and guy was really nice to us. Check out was the same way. Definitely recommend staying there for nice and fancy hotel.

Fantastic hotel. I only met my family that was staying there. We had fun playing ping pong on the 2nd floor lounge area. Beautiful place.

Great Hotel with wonderful overall service! My husband and I stayed there as we celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and we were greeted with great customer service and a nice room with a wonderful layout! I would recommend this hotel and will certainly come again. There were two hiccups… the first one occurred when we entered the hotel. Apparently there was a pregnant unhappy guest regarding a comforter. As my husband and I entered, the front desk clerk and another worker were discussing it. I thought by my husband and I approaching the counter, the conversation about the unhappy guest would end. I was wrong. The clerk and worker continued to talk until they were done and then we received service once their conversation was over. This was unprofessional because guests should not be discussed in front of guests. The second hiccup was with my comforter. The comforter to our bed had a small stain. It appeared to be dried blood but once I called the front desk, we were offered sheets because they did not have any more blankets. It did not kill our experience at all. We were just happy to have some clean linen.

Location is neat in that it's in the North Hills Mall. That makes it quite easy to find good restaurants and shops. There's plenty of parking as well. Overall, the only thing I didn't enjoy was the concierge level was closed over the weekend while I was there. I don't mind not having the food but I usually go to get water bottles. Was instead directed towards the shop. Kind of irked me a little but I was having too good of a day to argue.

Gorgeous hotel right in the middle of everything you could possibly need. The buffet breakfast is outstanding even though you have to pay for it but the price isn't bad $18 and that gives you access to the manned omelet station and everything else they have available. The restaurant inside the hotel has really good food as well and is open late. Really enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Plenty of restaurants, a movie theater, and bowling alley all within walking distance. Once you're checked in you never need your car to find something entertaining to do. The in hotel bar was great, and all staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I will absolutely recommend this hotel to others!

We stayed over the weekend and absolutely loved the service we received! The bartenders are absolutely fabulous and truly make you feel at home! Super friendly and fun to be around. Our room was also flawless, very clean and nice. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is due to the condition to of the pool facilities. The floor of the pool was a brown color and there was trash (used bandaids, clumps of hair, random pieces of plastic) all over the place. The ceiling of the building was rusted as chipping, there was also very little chairs for guest for the size of the pool room. Overall it was just a very dirty feeling in there instead of a fun place to hang out.

My stay at this hotel was very pleasant until after check out I noticed a smoking charge which was not explained to me during check out but was reflected on my credit card bill. As I called the hotel back, I spoke with Aubrey who is an assistant manager and she explained that we have to charge you anytime the smoke detector goes off. She explained the hotel is charged so the customer is charged as well. I explained to her the hot shower was running and also the curling iron was plugged up as well. She explained to me it could have been triggered from the shower steam. I told her the maintenance guy said the smoke detectors were very sensitive and she agreed that could be the case. The charges have yet to be removed. I do not understand why I'm being charged $250 for a smoke charge and there was no smoke or evidence of smoke in the room. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS HOTEL They will charge your CREDIT CARD without notifying you during check out.

My husband and I stayed here this past Easter weekend because we had an appointment to get family photos over at Jcpenny in North Hills. Prior to this visit we also stayed here over the New Year holiday weekend and had a horrible experience due to a water pipeline busting and causing the water to be contaminated. Which I'm not blaming them for that but it was an inconvenience because we couldn't brush our teeth, take showers, or use the jacuzzi in our room which was our reason for coming in the first place. Any who we decided to give them another try this past Easter and ordered room service. Received our food and in the middle of eating my salad noticed a dead baby ROACH in my salad! We called front desk and explained the problem. Someone from the restaurant came up to check it out. Noticed it, didn't apologize or offer any compensation, took our plates and left. I'm thinking to myself "this is supposed to be a four star hotel" which also cost more than average with below average service! never will we ever stay at this hotel again!

This was a disappointing staycation for my fiance' and I this weekend. We were hoping to relax and sleep in on a lazy Sunday morning after a fun night out but the hotel staff woke us up by knocking and entering the room at 9:00 AM, and then again at 10:00 AM. The second time the employee told me that I need to place a do-not-disturb sign on the door handle in order to keep people out in the morning. I don't think this is a normal expectation so early and before check-out; the agitation ruined our morning. Be warned — place the do not disturb sign outside on your door handle before you go to bed. The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The furnishings were dysfunctional, however. There were no towel racks in the bathroom; presumably we are supposed to toss wet towels on the floor (maybe that's why housekeeping comes by so early?! ). The bedside lamp was an artistic marvel with a clear retro bulb and no shade, searing one's retinas upon turning it on. What looks like a refrigerator is only an insulated box; one needs to bring one's own ice packs to keep anything cold in it. The location is nice, convenient to so many stores and restaurants. But given disappointing room experience and high price, we would have preferred to just drive home.

My home away from home Whenever I come to Raleigh for work 9/10 I’m staying here. It is pricey and even with my corporate discount it hits the top bar of what we are allowed to spend on a room, but it is so worth it. I love the convenience of walking to dining after a long work day, or staying in my room and ordering delicious room service. They even have free car service anywhere in the north hills shopping area, or if it is after hours they will get the north hills shuttle (golf cart) to pick you up. They recently remodeled the rooms in the last few years, the old wasn’t bad or old looking so this is nice too lol. Parking is via the garage with elevator access directly into the hotel, or in the lot next door. Concierge has free breakfast for Marriott rewards and on weekends they will give you a card to eat free breakfast through the restaurant. The staff is super nice and always welcomes me back whether it is after a few months or just for the day. Love it here.

Staying in different rooms its clear, you get what you pay for. Was a bit late booking so had to take a different room than what we normally stay in. The decorations were less than what we expected. Overall this hotel is great. Attached restaurant and room service is great. Close to shopping and many choices of restaurants. Staff is always helpful and very cordial.

41 Hundred in the Renaissance served a fantastic lunch for Triangle Restaurant Week! I was intrigued by their regular menu items as well. I'll definitely be back to try something different. The atmosphere is open and comfortable… almost spring like even in the middle of the winter. Cozy little find in the middle of the hustle and bustle of North Hills!

This is truly one of Raleigh's best hotels with its amazing decor and the luxury of the rooms is outstanding. The rooms are designed for relaxation with a touch of class and the beds are so extremely comfortable. The hotel bar is really superb and is so much more than other hotels. Love the room service and the food is very tasteful! This is a must if your ever in the Raleigh area for business or a weekend getaway! The staff are very nice and very professional.

The hot tub here is always busted. This hotel has a great gym because they partner with Fitness Connection to allow guests to access their facilities. However, the pool and hot tub are operated by the hotel. Several times a year, the hot tub will break and they claim to be waiting for parts for months. Basically, don't expect basic maintenance to be done if you stay at Renaissance Raleigh North Hills. They know their guests are only in town for a short time, and they claim these repairs are out of their control because they are waiting for parts. This excuse only works once or twice. At the point, it's obvious they just don't want to fix the problem. If the hot tub is actually breaking this often, why not keep spare parts in stock? I have visited this hotel several more times in the past year. It seems they have some serious problems with maintenance because the hot tub breaks every few months and repairs take weeks or months to be completed. I can only guess how poorly the rest of the place is maintained based on my experience with the these obvious and extended repairs. It is astounding that a hotel with such high room rates cannot maintain basic amenities when budget hotels have pools and hot tubs that work. For an example of the excuses I have heard frequently, simply read their reply to my comment here.

It was my first time seeing the Renaissance Hotel. It's a nice hotel but I guess I was just expecting a lot more. The lobby was beautiful there are some interesting art pieces maybe a little bit too modern for my taste. The service seemed friendly but a little uptight. It has wonderful restaurants nearby and a gym that was nice. The bed was super soft and comfortable and so was the comforter. The overall layout of the room was nice but it was just a typical hotel room it did however look over the road where the Christmas tree was set up when we were there and that made for a pretty View.

Excellent Thanksgiving buffet! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was great. Oyster, shrimp, lots of cheeses and cold meats for appetizers. The turkey, ham and trout were moist and delicious. The sides were very, very good.

We had a weekend trip here last weekend. It was amazing the staff was wonderful the room was clean. The housekeeping extremely trustworthy because I left all my jewelry in the room. We could see the fireworks from the fair from our room on the tenth floor. We loved the trip and appreciated the amazing service ❤️ Thanks for making our weekend great!

Awesome location, close to almost everything in Raleigh. Rooms were moderately spacious and clean. Staff was very friendly and professional. Only complaint is maybe the pricing is a little high.

Was supposed to have 2:00 check in time got there at four and room was not ready (after they couldn't find our reservation). Got to the room and it was the wrong one (no tub). Moved to another room and with the air on 64 it was hot in the room. Only plus side of this visit was the location and bell hops.

A nice location near the beltline. Ample parking. Beautiful lobby. Well presented meal in the meeting room with sufficient number of attendants.

It was only there for 2 or 3 hours but the food and service and the Edifichó is very good.

Perfect location, surrounded by food and shops! Decor is terribly bizarre and makes no sense. Like someone wanted camping/rustic look and someone wanted weird modern art, and they could never compromise. Pleasant staff. However I purposely only put one wash cloth on the ground to replace, even wrote a note about it, and they post a message about how hanging means I'll reuse everything else… and when I came back he had replaced all towels (6), which was unnecessary and not following the hotels guidelines. $16 breakfast buffet. Ok water pressure in shower, nice spacious bathroom. Comfortable beds.

Beautiful rooms. I had an issue with my debit card and they solved it very quickly. Professional, kind staff and the BEST location!

Attended a technical training event in one of the rooms. Food was catered by the hotel. Really nothing negative to say, food was excellent, staff was friendly and Facilities were clean. Beyond that wall the location is a little bit hard to get into North Hills has plenty of shopping and dining options. The hotel itself was beautiful inside the lobby.

Great hotel and very friendly staff. We enjoyed our visit and everything was excellent. I gave 4 stars only because refrigerator was not working properly. We didn't try breakfast at hotel but there is lot of great places at walking distance.

Great hotel. Was there for a half marathon. Great location. Internet didn't work in our room but worked great in the lobby. Air Condition wasn't working all that well in our room either. We lived thru it. Would stay there again.

The people in this area are very nice and polite especially the staff in this hotel. The rooms are very nice and I got a pleasant surprise when I found there was a TV in the mirror. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety in foods. The pool didn't blow my mind but it was still a nice pool. Overall, this hotel was really nice and had a great atmosphere.

Lovely hotel, who knew it was near all the fun shopping and dining. Best part of the experience: the bed. One of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Nice rooms, in great shape. Plus access to a full service gym.

Lady friend and I spent a night there over the weekend. Great location with proximity to restaraunts and nightlife. Hotel is one swanky spot. Had a late check in due to an event at the hitel, but a free cocktail receptiom made up for the inconvenience. Very friendly staff. Only down side is the $4 bottle of water in the rooms. Especially after a night out…

Because of a large event, we had to have a late check-in. However, the hotel offered two free drinks per person from 3-7pm to make up for it. The staff is extremely outgoing and friendly and the room is well decorated and clean. The only complaint we have is that a few channels on the TV don't work.

Stayed here for one night but the experience was absolutely amazing! The customer service was beyond amazing and me and my fiance both agree that every time we come to Raleigh we will be staying here at this hotel! I thought I had left my necklace in the room and they sent someone up to the room to check for me and called me back within 15 minutes! Like I said the customer service was beyond amazing! Thank you so much for the experience!

This is usually where I stay when I'm in Raleigh and it never disappoints. Love all the amenities etc.

We held an event at the Renaissance and also booked several rooms. Rooms: Very nice — the beds are extremely comfortable. Some had complaints about the view. Event: Our event was held during Christmas for a Corporate Holiday Party. Everything was great except I wish the rooms were decorated for the Holiday Season! Other than that the event, food and staff were great.

Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was spacious and had wonderful amenities. The in-house bar was fairly slow but well-stocked. There's shopping and restaurants literally right outside the front door.

My review is premised on the fact that I only attended a business meeting here. With that being said, I will say the stay was great. Parking was more than sufficient, and FREE! The interior lobby was decorated quite nicely. And shockingly, the hotel food for lunch was great (for the chicken at least). Bathrooms were clean. Staff was friendly. I have no clue about the rooms though.

Always stay here when I have to travel for business! You can't beat it!

I book events for special guests throughout the year and have used the Renaissance on multiple occasions. They have always been accommodating, helpful and polite. The rooms are clean and comfortable. All the guests have loved the location as well. I'll continue to book the Renaissance in the future.

Service was excellent. Very pleasant room. Comfortable bed with cozy linens. Nice flat screen TV with good channel selection. Cool additional TV in the vanity mirror. In room refrigerator with tasty selection of coffee. Headboard reading lights and data center access ports are a nice touch.
