We were there for Mother's Day at the Market Place restaurant. Great food and great service! Very memorable experience!

Super clean, everything works, friendly staff, quiet night, lots of hot water and a great breakfast.

Fun gathering space in the lobby!

Four friends and I enjoyed dinner and wine here. Each of us commented about how awesome our dinner tasted. I personally enjoyed the melt-in-your-mouth salmon dinner. Great food, friendly waiter, comfortable atmosphere, and long-time-no-see friends; what more could one ask for?

Great place for drinks and supper before game!

Very helpful and friendly staff! The food was delicious and the room were very beautiful! And a few minute walk to Cameron Indoor which was great! Overall 5 stars!

The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. Room was spacious and comfortable and everything was centrally located to walk to Cameron or the Chapel.

Great stay! Beautiful place! 12 minutes walking to Cameron Indoor Stadium. Breakfast buffet was pricey but we only ate there one morning. Staff was friendly, especially Mark the bartender!

The hotel looks very neat. Rooms and amenities are very good. There are some small flaws, but I had not seen any serious problem. Meeting facilities are really great. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Pretty good experience. It was convenient to the University, and the shuttle service was extremely useful. The room could have been cleaner — the restroom in particular.

The JB Duke exceeded my expectations! I attended Duke and was back for my wedding anniversary since my husband and I were married at the Chapel. The location was amazing, the rooms were spacious, new, and clean, and the staff was FANTASTIC! Glenn at the front desk was so helpful and they really made our stay special.

Staff was very polite but when we asked for a late check out the Front Desk Manager was short and snappy! We asked for 2pm due to a 5pm flight… I've had this request a dozen times over the years and it has always been granted. I wont be back!

This is a nice hotel in downtown Durham located in an old, renovated bank building. Hip kind of place with rooftop bar and downstairs restaurant featuring an acclaimed chef running it and focused in local ingredients. Guest rooms are pretty nice. Not huge but bathrooms are decent and rooms are still fairly new with work stations, nice TV, etc. Easiest to just valet park. Restaurant has always seemed a little odd to me as it is located in almost seems like lobby. And, while I have enjoyed many things I have eaten there, dont think it is as good as the acclaim. The rooftop bar is very popular and a somewhat unique spot in Durham.

This is newly opened. It has a much more updated feel than the older Duke hotel across the street. The suites are very well done.

While visiting Duke I looked forward to a wonderful stay. Sadly that was not the case. Our first room was dirty hair in both queen beds. The staff kindly changed our room. Unfortunately the TV's continued to cut out or go out all together. The staff was aware of the TV problems but offered no relief. I will not return when picking up my daughter in 2 weeks.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the JB Duke Hotel. The hotel is very modern and has many places to spend time. It is located conveniently on campus as well. We were surprised that it was next to impossible to find microwaves in the hotel, especially when we wanted to warm up some left overs from our lunch. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is nice and new. Comfortable bed, big HD TV and great water pressure — thats what I think matters most. There are a few things that keep it from being 5 stars: lower quality towels, bedding and furniture. It feels a bit like a brand new holiday inn in some ways. Location is fantastic and lobby area is cool. Our room was located on the first floor which is a bit confusing to navigate but fine once we got there.

Everyone there is always been great. Today, the rare exception. The gentleman outside of the front door was very rude.

Saturday night was the Duke vs. UVA game. The lobby bar was quite busy which the staff handled wonderfully. Dinner in the Marketplace was very delicious as well. If you like fish, the catch of the day or the salmon is the way to go.

The staff hesitated to give me the same rate that was on expedia. The hotel was slow. The staff was not very friendly. I had to ask to have my room cleaned again. I would not recommend this hotel.

Went here for drinks and appetizers at the hotel bar. It was a lovely atmosphere with nice cozy seating areas scattered throughout the bar/lobby area. The food was pretty good, but most definitely overpriced for what they gave you. The mixed drinks were good, and they had a pretty decent wine selection.

Beautiful hotel with ample parking. Great food, perhaps overly attentive staff.

Whether it is your first visit or third, you are greeted with smiles, a whatever you need, we will do attitude, I really wish a lot of companies would send employees to JB Duke to experience great customer service. It truly becomes the most relaxing place to be, it can just feel good to sit in the lobby after a great dinner, do some people watching, before heading to your room. The reason for our stay in Durham was medical, and driving to the hospital is not for the faint of heart, and the traffic, and simply getting around Duke Hospital, can make you yearn for peace and quiet. That is exactly what you will find here, like a hidden gem of serenity and kindness.

I stayed at JB Duke the night after my wedding and it was absolutely Beautiful. We were treated very nice by all the staff that we came in contact with. The room was very spacious, the decor was very modern and the breakfast was delicious! We will return in the future.

A contemporary, pleasant place on Duke's West Campus, next to the Fuqua School of Business and across the road from the Washington Duke Inn. Facilities are recently renovated. Food is reasonable but not remarkable. Location is not particularly convenient to downtown Durham, but it's not far away.

Everything about my stay at the JB Duke Hotel was first class. From the service to the amenities, I couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Situated perfectly on the edge of Dukes campus, the hotel offers many wonderful views and the opportunity to explore the campus. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

Stayed here as a Baylor fan for the Duke vs Baylor game for 3 nights. Loved the hotel. Spacious rooms; great bed; right on campus with a close walk to Cameron Indoor, Wallace Wade Stadium and the new $90 million food court on campus. The restaurant was good; great lounge area. Brand new hotel built in 2017. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the campus.

People are unbelievably friendly. Restaurant is great and not too far from campus. Will be staying here again.

One of my best hotel stays ever. The staff were nice and incredibly willing to assist you in any way possible. The bar and amenities were great as well. Our room was a suite and we were surprised to see physical door dividers between the pull out couch bed and the bedroom — a huge plus. The half bath in the main living area was also an unexpected plus. What a place!

I've traveled to a lot of hotels, but my stay at JB Duke was probably one of the best I've ever had. The staff make this hotel amazing — they are kind, helpful, and genuine. Any request I've ad, they could always accommodate, I was seriously impressed. The hotel was brand new and has a lot of features, including a pretty nice gym, a bocce ball court, large conference/lecture rooms, and a self-serve restaurant. Great hotel, highly recommend staying there if you need to be close to Fuqua or have any corporate events.

Only got a chance to go for a work luncheon. The food and service were wonderful. The hotel looks incredibly nice and made me wish I was staying.

Phenomenal venue for reception for a wedding. If you can ask fo Richard to work your vent, he was an outstanding employee who made us bridal party laugh and enjoyed having him take care of us.

Attended a conference here and found both the facilities and the service excellent. Very modern and stylish design and amenities throughout. I had an issue with a noise the HVAC was making the first night, and they took care of the situation quickly and to my satisfaction.

My stay with the JB Duke Hotel has been a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff helpful and attentive, and the location is solid. I can reach the Duke campus with little trouble or find my way to a highway/interstate with ease.

Came for a short work visit to campus. What a cool hotel. I enjoyed the spacious lobby, the fire, and the very attentive and friendly staff.

The hotel seemed nice enough, and the staff was helpful. Parking in the parking garage took much longer than I anticipated, making me late. Others attending the same event had a similar experience.
