This is the worst possible place ever. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever come here. The guy running the front desk is the most hateful human being I have ever seen. He should be taken away and locked in the institution. Never ever ever ever ever stay here. Period hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful hateful.

Nice staff, Close to a lot of restaurants, places to go. And only about a 30min drive from the Beautiful Lake Lure.

Enjoyed our one night stay. Will come again. Only disadvantage didn’t care for the room 421 in back didn’t seem safe for 2 women would rather had poolside rooms.

Nice for the price. Floor was dirty, was only there because close to Honda Dealer. Went to Cracker Barrel for b breakfast.

I had a horrible experience at this hotel. I had to move rooms 2 due to uncleanliness and safety. My first room would close but not lock and had a very mildewing smell. My second room would lock but didn't have the locking latch. The carpet in both rooms was filthy and torn up. Only one of my lamps worked in the room. Staff were unhelpful and verbally aggressive when concerns were raised. One of the attendants stated "you don't have to stay here if you don't like my customer service". I will not be staying at another Econo lodge and I definitely do not recommend people to stay there either.

Quiet place with all the amenities one can need. The mattress could have been more comfy. Better than expected…

Well, it seemed like a a great place at first, but that was all. I am disabled and have difficulty walking. Even after this was known, I was given a room that required walking up stairs or a grassy incline. The check-out was horrible. I ended up getting overcharged, then they put 3 additional authorizations, 4 total, on my card that I had for a simple trip, a debit card. I ended up four states, over 750 miles, from home with no money because of their incompetence and apparently one individual that wanted to get back at us for bringing up the overcharge and proving her wrong. The breakfast was very bad as well. Will never stay here again. Also, starting to reevaluate staying at any Econo Lodge, and even any Choice establishment given the past few stays.

This was a decent hotel. The outside seemed recently updated but the rooms were still a little dated feeling, but not terrible. It's located close to restaurants and shops. Outback, Starbucks, and a couple others are within walking distance but Walmart and most of the shopping requires a drive. Though we didn't use it, the pool looked nice and clean. The parking situation in the front is pretty bad. There are 20+ rooms located on the front side of the hotel and only four or five parking spots. Who thought that was a good idea? Anyway, inside the room was ok. It all seemed cleaned enough and plenty of channels on the TV with ice cold AC. However, the water pressure in the shower was pretty bad and I wasn't a fan of the mattress or pillows. Overall, you get what you pay for as this is definitely one of the cheapest places in town.

We didn't stay long but it was a regular room on the ground floor. People there were on the loud side and some were a bit shady. Overall feel was OK but we felt cold, turned on the heat and it smelled like burning.

I usually do not respond to rate this place but this was not a good experience. There were water stains on the ceiling as well as cobwebs on the ceiling. The bathroom ceiling had water stains on ceiling as well as something black, maybe mold, did not inspect that close. There was a mildew smell in the room as well as the lobby. I know that Choice Hotels has put their name on reputable hotel/motels, they need to check further on this property. There was not a working ice machine on the property. I think everyone gets that I was not happy with the property. As they say, you get what you pay for.

In my opinion, the room was rough. The furniture was damaged. The room could have used some updating. The price for a weekend stay is fairly steep. The walls are pretty thin, I had to use ear plugs. The entire place could have used an update.

The location was easy to find, and close to Asheville. Our room was clean, the air/heating worked well and the bathroom had been recently updated. The bed was fairly comfortable. The breakfast was the one I have come to expect from a Choice Property, which seems to be superior to most others. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, it was an excellent value for the price.

First impression the outside needs updating. Staff friendly and very helpful. The room was adequate, the bathroom was updated. However they did have both lamps and the clock as well as a non functioning USB power charging station running all off the same outlet using low grade extension cords. Good for a night two at most. A stopover place only.

Room was nice for an Econo Lodge. What upset me was that my room was supposed to be free with my Choice Privileges points but my credit card was charged. This is ridiculous.

Front staff is very rude. Brought up a couple of issues that could have been addressed properly but instead was talked to by the lady at front desk like I was the worst customer she had ever dealt with. Also my truck was hit and it was right in front of a camera that I saw the monitor and could clearly see my truck was in view. But the manager said nothing could be seen. Trying to handle it through corporate but I'll see. They will never get my money again. They don't seem to care either.

My husband and I are staying here for a week with our two children. Late at night on weekends it's hard to get sleep since people don't know how to be quiet. Our key stopped working at one point as well. The first day they didn't even clean the room. The breakfast is the same thing every day. The fruit is just put in the fridge every night and put out again the next morning. Will stay elsewhere next time.

Staying there for a week, only been their one day so this review is subject to change, but so far the econo lodge seems to be a good hotel, especially for the price. The complementary breakfast features more than some but definitely isn't five star, the food does seem fresh, just not as many options as some. It would appear the cleaning doesn't happen daily in the rooms which is somewhat bothersome (and the reason for the lost star) the attendant is very kind and helpful, the rooms are well equipped and everything you could need besides maybe a dining table. The cleanliness is also four stars, besides a little makeup on the sink the room was clean when we arrived along with the lobby. The towels are very small remind me of the towels at a few crappy days inn I've stayed at. This motel is also pet friendly for 15 dollars a night which is a huge plus.

They don't even deserve one star! My family was refused a room that I rented for them during an winter emergency on New Years Eve. They were traveling back to Tennessee and ran into unforecasted ice storm. Pamela at the front desk (who refused to give her last name and hung up on me repeatedly), was so rude to me and my family. My family had just witnessed a major accident on the interstate and were very shaken up. I booked the room through my Choice Rewards. Pamela refused to corporate with us at all! She refused to use the card I booked the room with online. My niece (who is in her 30s) only had cash and my nephew (who is 19) had a bank card. She refused to take either forms of payment and was exceptionally rude to them. They were forced back on the treacherous roads and into an unsafe environment. I know there are policy, but I feel that during emergency situations exceptions should be made! To top it all off, SHE STILL CHARGED MY CARD FOR THE ROOM! The card she said she couldn't take!

Clean rooms. Comfy beds. The breakfast isn’t all that Jazz but it has stuff my kids will eat so I’m perfectly fine with that. Only downfall is the normal wear and tear, but it’s nothing major or off putting.

Had 2 rooms & saw a roach in one room & 2 roaches in the other. Unfortunately, with the snow & bad weather we had to stay… but clearly didn't stay for the free breakfast!

To not allow my boyfriend (who traveled 2 hours so he could be with me while I recover from surgery) to get a room is ridiculous! I understand not wanting to lease the rooms out to locals — but this is a situation in which HE needed a room. Can locals not VISIT friends and family at hotels? I guess they inadvertently did us a favor since the place is dirty and their not-so-friendly staff don't have the decency to call people with reservations to notify them that they need to book elsewhere. It's ridiculous!

Linens need replacing… especially bedspread. Comfortable bed. We travel with a dog. It seems Choice limits us to less than desirable hotels frequently. We understand that dogs can be destructive because owners leave them, etc but we do not.

What a dump. This should have been a $50 night room, but they hosed me down for $145 for the night. No elevator, all lights, phone, and TV unplugged from wall sockets when I arrived after dark. Power outlet in bathroom was broke. Room smelled like stale beer & cigarettes. Don't stay here. If you are traveling East on I-40 to I-26, stay on the North West side of Asheville, before getting on 26 east. This place is horrible!

It's a nice hotel the area is a bit pricey but this hotel was reasonable.

The elderly gentleman refysed to take cash and said they dont have to take legal tender. Definitely would keep going if I were you. Not friendly or accommodating.

The room we were unlucky to get was awful. Even for the price I expect at least clean. The air barely cooled room, there was hair all over bottom of tub, black mold on A/C and in corners of bathroom. The fridge was full of water and wasn't cooling and toilet was constantly running though no one had used it. Coffee maker didn't have a top and basket that holds grounds was nasty. Called to front desk. A woman came and sprayed tub and took towels that had hair on them. We asked about the fridge and she told us if it didn't work then oh well, it wasn't part of the amenities and did I just want to checkout? She asked this twice and I called my sister that booked the room for us to see if she could get us any help. She was told I was being nit picky about the tub, air, and fridge and she wasn't doing anything else. If I wanted the towels she had taken away replaced I could walk to the office and get more. She wasn't bringing them to me. Very abrupt and very rude and this was before I seen the mold or the sheets with holes in them or the bugs and hair in the drawers. Upon checkout since we had no choice to stay because there wasn't a room to be had no where because of the eclipse, they had added a pet fee to my bill. I had no pets. A man was there to fix it or we would have had to wait for our bill to be fixed. There was no manager there. The maids did have their kids with them. The only decent thing was the breakfast. It was actually better than I hoped.

Absolutely horrrible. Please do not subject yourself or your family to this place. Not only did the front desk not communicate to night shift that we were checking in late from out of town, but they canceled our reservation and had to rebuild the reservation. The room was "non smoking", this is false. The room smelled like smoke as did all the linens. There was lipstick all over the sink, there were cigarette burn marks in the blankets and trash by the nightstand. Apparently this was "the only room left". Had we not just driven 8.5 hours, we would have immediately left. I almost wish I had slept in my vehicle. This hotel was disgusting and disappointing.

It was better places the other ones we stopped at in the area and after 10 hrs I didn't care anymore. The breakfast really sucked; no bagels and no apple juice! Rooms needs updated and some areas needs attention.

The rooms were nice, roomy, and clean. However the continental breakfast has sucked this time around. The eggs tasted horrible. There was no bacon. The waffle machine made good waffles. The biscuits were dry. Coffee was good. I was disappointed with that but the rest of the experience was good and we will be back next year. I'm just gonna chalk up the breakfast as just being off this time.

Room was clean and well prepped. Breakfast was questionable, they ran out of sausage patties and the fruit pieces was not in a sealed nor chilled in a container, but the rest of the food was cooled or warmed correctly, but there is no ice available where you way and you need to go out to the hallway ice machine. Staff was helpful and polite, exterior of the hotel was well presented also.

WE checked in around 6:30 PM. After a nap we went to eat an came back. This is when w made our discoveries and it lead to one very adventurous night! Found the tub to be cracked, the sink didn't drain and the hot and cold water was reversed. The bed was a coil spring mattress that was an aching thing by morning. The controls for the HVAC unit were worn off and I couldn't set the temp accurate enough to where it was comfortable in the room. The backlight on the TV was all but gone which made the picture dark. If the bed, the sink, the shower, the HVAC and the TV wasn't enough, the rodent chewing on the wall at the HVAC unit was the icing on the cake! What a frigg'n nightmare! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

GREAT PRICE, and Tish set us up with a room quickly. Easy access to the highway, nice room, we will stay here again if the opportunity arises!

Tish was amazing and super accommodating! Everywhere was booked, and she was able to get a room. Very clean and friendly staff. Will stay here again when I'm in town!

Dirty. And the toilet ran ALL NIGHT. The bathroom door was broken. I found a hair in the bed when I pulled back the covers. Disgusting. I can't believe we paid $130 for that! Breakfast was just as bad. The container that the pasteries were in was broken too. Good grief! 8

My mom called to make reservations, but the hotel didn’t answer their phone, so she called a 1-800 # and booked it that way. The woman said there would be a $10 pet fee, and yet when we get up there to check-in, suddenly it turned into a $16 pet fee, because the third party we had booked the hotel through charges that much. We’d never booked through a third party before, and had no idea how it worked; and wouldn’t have had to had the hotel answered their phone when we called. The hotel is pet friendly, yet wasn’t designed with pets in mind. BTW, bad location of the hotel. On a side street behind the highway. The hotel has doggy bags in the lobby, and yet nowhere to throw them away. Do we carry them to our rooms? Throw them in the trash can in front of the hotel? There should be doggy bags and a trash can outside in the grassy area. There were two workers there, a man and woman walking around the hotel, talking loudly. The woman ended up on the phone, having a private conversation, complaining about work; not professional! One of the windows shows a cluttered view from behind the front desk, which guests shouldn’t be seeing. It doesn’t reflect well on the hotel. Hotel could use some maintenance and improvements. There was hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor, stained bedsheets, two stinkbugs in the room, and a frayed, ugly bedspread. Rooms could use some modernizing and better furniture/bedding.

Room is clean, furniture is beat up a little. Pool was closed for repair on some tile that fell off the side of the pool 2nd day here. I asked if it would reopen today and was assured it would by staff at the front desk. That was at 11am. It's now 6pm and the pool is still closed. I have some very unhappy kids and wasn't happy about being lied to by staff. We are leaving to go home in the morning so kids missed out on the pool.

Lights were out in the walkway area. The parking is inconvenient. The bedding did not look as though it had been changed recently. The staff was nice but the facility needs updating.

This place is horrible. I understand you pay for what you get but they didn't even try to fix things. The strong smoke smell, dirty bathroom, bugs in the dresser drawer. This place is horrible for people with asthma. They except animals and allow smoking. I asked for another room and they claim didn't have anymore none smoking rooms. The staff didn't seem to care how we felt. The good thing was they gave me money back with any hassle.

I recently moved from Hendersonville to Tennessee, and got in town late to speak to my real estate agent in the morning. The man at the front desk was extremely rude and told me that even though my Choice awards says I live in Tennessee, since my license says Hendersonville, he would not give me a room. I will never be staying at an Econolodge again after this terrible experience and rude clerk.

The room was okay, nothing special. The breakfast was horrible. Everything seemed stale and unappetizing. We ended up at the Waffle House, which is saying a lot. We will definitely try a different hotel next time.

It was awful! Wi-Fi forget it, phone didn't work in room, called the front desk on cell to let them know the reply was " let me give you an 800#". Breakfast ick! The only positive feedback is my dog enjoyed the bed! Will never ever stay there again. The price was OUTRAGEOUS!

Our room smelled like someone had been smoking in there for several nights. Staff was not very helpful, or friendly. The breakfast staff was slow to replace items, let the trash cans overflow to the point where people had the leave trash on the tables, and some items were stale. The bathroom in the room had a broken drain in the shower, and the lid to the toilet tank did not fit the tank. Also most of the lights in the room did not work. We had reserved a econo lodge room for our next location but canceled that room and stayed at a much better motel. I'll never stay at this or any other econo lodge again.

Decent place to stay for a night, but the two uneducated women working the front desk when I checked out were cackling and too involved with themselves to even greet me this morning when checking out, nor ask how my stay was, and when I asked for creamer for my coffee the answer was, "no, we don't have any of that here. " Knowing differently and quite torqued off, I went and asked the very nice and genuinely kind ladies in housekeeping who kindly gave me a couple packets. It be a wonderful hotel if I didn't just have to put up with that! Rude people suck.

We stayed June 24th and it was a very pleasant experience. They have a very nice pool. Room was great with 2 queen beds, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was one of the best we've had in any hotel including hot eggs, sausage, waffles along with coffee, o. J. Cereal and pastries. Will definitely stay there again!
