Had a Chamber of Commerce event this morning at this recently renovated resort. Welcoming gathering space in multi-level lobby, gracious staff and delicious breakfast goodies. Looking forward to my next visit as an overnight guest! A jewel in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Not bad. Stayed here with our kids. It was nice to have a pool designed with them in mind as it has a water slide. Hot tubs weren't bad. Breakfast was ok. Building shows some signs of age. Room was hard to cool down. Might or might not stay again.

We were going to sliding rock, and decided to stay a little further out in hopes of finding better accommodation. We called around and by far the Cascades had the friendliest receptionist. The outside was very deceiving we circled the parking lot deciding if we wanted to venture in. It looks a bit older and a sort of sketchy. I am glad we decided to take the plunge and go inside. Once we checked in we were impressed. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The pool was absolutely wonderful. They brought us towels poolside and they left the slide on later so the kids could have more play time. The breakfast buffet was great. It was easy to grab something quick and get checked out. Check out was a breeze as far as I was concerned. As hotel coffee goes their’s was terrific and they had a variety of sweeteners and creamers. We didn’t have towels in our room when we checked in but that was quickly remedied. 10/10 would stay here again. I recommend the cascades to any family looking for a sweet escape with a little water park in the mountains.

This is a nice hotel. The rooms are in need for some updates but not too bad. They have an excellent inside pool area with a water slide and a nice hot tub area. I would stay here again.

Great experience, just a one night stay but, the property exceeded our expectations. They have an excellent pool area with water slide, a large hot tub, a restaurant, a cafe and well appointed rooms. I would definitely recommend this location for a family looking to enjoy their trip to the Asheville area.

This is a 5 star hotel with a 3 star budget. Let's address the one negative: the bed was too soft and I need more support. Everything else is worthy of commendation. Imagine hundreds of acres of internal and external stone walls hand crafted with waterfalls and an indoor pool with kids slide. Unreal. Moreover 3 hot tubs segregated from the main pool for adult privacy. The restaurant and bar open the pool with convenience beyond par. Truly you can relax and enjoy a cold drink without driving and relax regardless of the weather outside. The whole family will relish a hotel where everybody can be entertained at the same time. This is far from any mainline hotel and worthy of a peek. Its affordable and the staff is extremely kind.

Great hotel, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My rating is more a 4.5. Loved the pool and the hot tub area, my daughter was in love with the water slide. Only 2 complaints it gets dark at the pool late in the day due to having a few lights around the deck, and getting most light from the skylights. I was hoping to read a book while my child played. The only real kid friendly item for dinner, little kid friendly she is only 7, was pizza. Would be nice to have a few options or pizza by the slice. We went off season so that could be part of the issue with food. There were plenty of great places to eat near by. We will definitely stay here again. The rooms were decent and clean, location was perfect for visiting waterfalls and Biltmore.

Brother retirement party was a blast. Catered food was awesome. Only had time for one day stay but it was fine. Nothing over the top. Got a great rate due to party. Would of used indoor heated pool if I we had more time. Lots of scenic area surroundings.

Great place, but flavored coffee creamer is the devil (half and half would be wonderful). Staff is amazingly friendly, rooms are nice. Beds aren't super comfortable, but they aren't complete backbreakers. The pool (though currently closed : () and adult only hot tub area is really nice. Gift shop is cute and serves ice cream and pizza, sells local honey, souvenirs, an assortment of emergency bathing suits and other amenities. The game room is small and only the air hockey is worth playing as all games are $1. Haven't tried the restaurant yet, but breakfast is pretty good.

I had planned a 3 night stay but only stayed one night… moved to another Hotel. Don't let the word "resort" fool you… it is anything but! The room I had was on the first floor and there was no window! It was like a dungeon! The room itself was typical hotel with bed, etc. Bed was not too comfortable. There was no shampoo bottles, the soap bars must have been the cheapest you can buy and they both crumbled. Breakfast was minimal… no bacon or sausage; unless you count the sausage in the gravy. There is an indoor pool with hot tub and a slide… I can see where families with kids would enjoy that part. There was one terrific highlight to my stay… I ordered a shrimp cocktail via room service and it was wonderful… it is a very simple thing to make but oh so easy to mess up! The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the cocktail sauce was delightful! I did not eat in the restaurant (except for breakfast) but if the shrimp cocktail is any indication of the food the chef can make then I believe it may be the best and most saving grace for the "resort"! Congrats to the chef:)

The staff was very helpful. The services were nice. Kids loved the pool. He had dinner from the restaurant and finished the evening up with ice cream from the cafe. Everyone enjoyed the stay and I look forward to staying again and taking my grandkids.

Didn't get room that I booked. Was put in a room directly in front of the water slide. If you love screaming kids this would of been great. Key issues was locked outside in the cold and had to walk around and thru the restaurant to get back in. Breakfast had no eggs and no sausage once they were brought out eggs were over cooked. No elevator for this "resort" I am 56 and had to carry luggage upstairs, no ice machine on second floor. Five star price for two star hotel. Insult to injury I was double billed upon check out. Now I get to go thru the hassle of getting the funds returned. Will never ever be back.

What a nice surprise this place was. It really is a fun family option when you are on a budget. Great location, friendly service and lots to do there for fun. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because it seemed like it was once a motel that they enclosed with glass so the rooms were more of a motel style. It is a fair trade off for the price.

The resort was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to check out late and even turned the waterslide on for us outside the normal hours so our kids could enjoy it. It is an older hotel that has been renovated. The rooms are standard and the common rooms were very nice. Good pricing. We would stay here again.

Had a great week there. My kids ages 17, 14, 11 loved the pool. Our room was perfect for our clan. Things that need improving breakfast. The food was good, but they constantly ran out of everything and took a while for them to replace. A second waffle maker is definitely needed. The bathroom needs a fan I had 3 kids take a shower and when it was my turn there was yellow water dripping from the ceiling. The pull out couch bed mattress needs a lot of improving maybe make it a air mattress would be better then the Ultra thin spring, and it only had a sheet and a summer thin blanket. I went to the front desk and all she could find was 2 thin bed liners that I took because it's better then nothing. Over all it was a great stay.

We initially had an issue with receiving a room that didn't match our reservation, followed by receiving a key that wouldn't open our door, lights that wouldn't work, and noticably taped over sprinkler heads for fire. The desk staff was quite accommodating, however, in immediately rectifying the issues and moved us to an appropriate (and much nicer) room. Staff was friendly and kind (although it appeared she could have used some help being all alone with a flurry of guests arriving while she managed pool laundry, answered phones, etc. ). The pool was nice (great water slide), complementary breakfast is always a plus, and the suite we had, while somewhat outdated, was perfect for our family of four.

Fun little getaway spot. Plenty of attractions around a 20 mile radius. The breakfast is pretty good. We didnt go to the pool but the slide looked like fun! Only reason not a 5 is that there are only two maybe three staircases in the building for a lot of rooms, and theyre all out of the way.

I had the jacuzzi king suite, it was awesome, room had 2 TV's a pull out sofa bed, king size bed jacuzzi next to the bed and then a standard bathroom (tub/shower). Jacuzzi was amazing but loud, also would be nice if there was a divider between sofa area and the bed/jacuzzi area but overall the room was well worth the money, the pool is nice as well a the hot tub area for the adults! It was well worth the money spend, only complaint is with how expensive.

The lady at the desk was extremely kind and helped me out when I was stuck in Hendersonville. The room was clean and nice. And the breakfast was really good.

We had a wonderful time here, my kids and husband absolutely loved the pool with a awesome slide, we enjoyed the hot tub area. Their fitness center is really nice, would be even better with free weights. Our room was very clean, quiet, and very comfortable. They only problem was our bathroom door wouldn't latch without pressing really hard. The breakfast is also really nice, real eggs and a general bigger selection. The staff is accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend staying here though if you need a weekend or overnight getaway. Two thumbs up!

My husband made us a reservation here so we could have a night away for our wedding anniversary. We live in the area and my mother drove from 4 hours away to watch our daughter for us. Upon check in, we were told we couldn't stay there because we were a local. BECAUSE WE LIVE LOCALLY? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life. And then the girl at the front desk couldn't even guarantee me that we wouldn't be charged for our room. The staff were lazy, rude and stuffing there faces with Bojangles while working the front desk. Thankfully, after calling places for over an hour, I found a beautiful bed and breakfast thast had one room left. We will never return to this hotel and will tell everyone we know to stay away. Don't waste your time with this crappy, rundown "resort". There are so many other great options in the area.

The rooms are relatively clean. They have a hot breakfast, but we had to wait 20-30 minutes for food to be restocked. They to have a water park that looks like a lot of fun. You get what you pay for.

Pool and slide are great. Staff were all very helpful. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds and sleeper sofa. The air conditioner was a wall unit beside the sleeper. The ones who slept there froze and others were too hot. Complimentary breakfast was very good but the lighting in the restaurant was horrible. Lastly, do not go in the game room. The only thing working in there is the machine that takes your money and gives you tokens for the games that appear to be working until you put your tokens in.

Had a wonderful stay this weekend. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the service was outstanding!

Awesome staff. Awesome pool and spa tub area. Rooms are clean and comfortable. There's a pool DJ on saturdays the kids loved. The bar and grill has excellent food and the bartenders make the best mixed drinks.

The rooms are old and have a smell. The breakfast was gone and not replenished. There were no cups, no utensils. In the room we had to try to find a place to plug in the microwave. We had nowhere to even charge our cell phones. The toilet and shower bubbled and poop came up into the toilet. The beds were so hard it was like sleeping on a board. The only good thing was the indoor pool. We are not snobs or ones who complain, but it was disgusting.

It is a remodeling of a 1960-1970 hotel with a large pool and giant slide. It also has secluded hot tub stations away from the main pool so as to have a relaxing soak. The room that I rented was a small double queen bed suite with a half wall separating the beds from the couch. It was a small cozy room. It fit 4 people fine.

Great place for the price. And it's about an hour drive to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Yes, it's a resort but the price and the facility was pretty unreal. There was afitness facility though small. They have a pool with a pretty big slide! They also have not one, not two, but three hot tubs! The breakfast is ok but at least they provide something edible. Definitely would recommend anyone to check this out.

The "resort" part is lovely and an above average but the hotel part is not so lovely. Not bad by any means but def below average. You'd think you were visiting two different places. The resort closes too early. No where to get a snack at 9pm unless you go to local gas station.

The building looks a little worse for wear from the outside but when you walk into the lobby it's absolutely stunning, large seating area with a television to the right, on the left is the check-in counter that's immaculate. There is a large indoor pool with water slide. Just great lobby area. The rooms are pretty standard from small hotels and motels, 2 full size beds, small writing desk, bathroom with the light switch on the outside of the door. As far as the other guests though, there were a lot of families here when I stayed and you can here the children running around the pool area all throughout the day.

Our first time here… the lobby area is beautiful, the pool and slide area are very nice looking they even have a small game room. the restaurant was closed the day we were there. The rooms were clean, BUT VERY PLAIN LOOKING, not a lot of decorations. the beds were very comfortable… the room we stayed in was on the hallway I photographed. It was dark, almost no natural light and it felt like a warm cave. the staff was very nice and helpful. They gave us a good price with AAA discount… it is not a bad place to stay as long as your expectations are realistic.

The whole place reeks of chlorine. There was no mattress pad. The sofa was dirty. No extra blankets though the bed only had a sheet and a very thin comforter. I used the extra towels as extra covers. There was no safety lock on the door. And there is no 'view' from any angle at this motel… which is what it really is. FYI, there is a Hampton Inn right next.

This place is absolutely amazing! the food is delicious, staff is very welcoming, rooms are comfortable and clean. Overall, a beautiful place to bring your family (has a huge pool and slide) and spend vacation! I definitely will be staying again.

A one of a kinda place. A hidden gem. Pool, water slide, hot tub. Recently renovated, great staff. The restaurant is first rate, the chef is an artist. Locally sourced food and inspired specials. Can't recommend this hotel enough.

My family really enjoyed our impromptu stay at the Cascades. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was a full spread of tasty options. There's a small game room with an air hockey table and a very, very nice pool with a huge slide. I thought the pool was a big selling point.

We only got to spend one night here and arrived kinda late, but we enjoyed our stay. It was nice, clean, and people were friendly. The pool and slide looked really cool and the breakfast was good with a nice selection.

Easy to get to (once you're in the area). Rooms aren't huge, but 5 of us slept fine in 2 queens and a pullout couch. The indoor pool is by far the best part of the experience. No lifeguards, but a large swimming pool with winding, two-story waterside sits in the middle of the hotel. There is a hot tub area of to the side as well.
